    The fact Onyxia is such a unique (and likely expensive morph), a healthy size, microchipped, and has a vet record... you can tell she was so loved and cared for. I’m sad for the owners, they must be missing her... but I’m glad she can be used for education and now sooo many people will get to know her!

      @@dragonheart175 The move has been extremely difficult, as to be expected internationally during a pandemic. We wanted to take her, but due to Covid shipping restrictions it would have put her life in danger and we weren't willing to risk her. i've never even heard of the procedure in reptiles. like, it makes sense (especially when a snake is especially important to a family or expensive) but it's gotta be a pricey microchip insertion. cats and dogs are easy because they have such stretchy skin but for snakes? wild.

      @@UCVWnuJnz0LguhAS_MYI3few It actually wasn't that hard to do. Cost the same as having a cat or small dog microchipped. Just had a reptile vet do it. They pushed in between her scales and inserted it. She wasn't happy, but she shed about a week later and it stopped bothering her by the next day. The tail was the only part that didn't come off in one piece during that shed, but the spot was all healed up. After her next shed you could barely even find it.

    It's actually so sweet hearing all the things Onyxia's parents set up for her previously! From the chip to the extensive records- maybe it's commonplace for snakes that aren't bought from a breeder (aka rehomed) but it's making me smile !!

    • @hajarmdn4883
      @hajarmdn4883 3 роки тому +1

      Buying an animal from a breeder doesn't mean they're rehomed since you're buying then from the place they were born at. Which the owners of Onyxia did. It's actually not very normal to see such amazing care specially with the microship. Also she's quite the expensive morph so her original owners had money to spend on her wellbeing

    That boa is gorgeous. Once she's settled in, you should get some video of her out in full sunlight. The iridescence was coming through just under the artificial light so in the sun she'd probably look like an opal or something. Normally I like wild type natural patterns on snakes, but the IMG morph is just so incredible.

      A red bellied /black snake at a local BBQ, would get people scurrying in all directions in Australia. However! They are stunningly marked with black shining scales , black eyes, usually a red belly, however some are found with pale pink or white bellies.. They can grow over a couple of metres and can get quite thick around the middle. Like us all, depending on the food supply...They like frogs and mice and are fairly placid. However they are venomous and look very intimidating when flared up .. Not for handling as a novice..
