Commenting again for the lavenders; try to use complementary colored paper to show off the colors on camera to create more of a contrast ! Lavender = yellow paper, reds = greens paper and vice versa
Bump this to the top!
Bump
I've tried this with my lavender babies and so far it didn't really help...maybe I'll try again. LED or natural sunlight seem to help a little 😊 I posted some pictures on Instagram 😊
@@Upper_echelon_exotics you could try putting it on black paper to get the most contrast 😁
Awesome
WHOA!! While I wasn't the kind viewer who sent the 3d printed rock caves, I'm the person who designed it!! Awesome babies and awesome seeing that design out in the wild!! :D
How awesome to see your art!
I love how excited they get when they have eggs hatching.
it's such a common thing but they get so excited every time.
I get the same way about my bird eggs lol, be it my ducks, turkeys, chickens or quail! Babies hatching is like, the best thing ever
lol, i get so excited too when i see they have a hatching video
Yep
All the snakes are their babies so of course the get excited.
It’s not a hatching video without Emily announcing “The goop looks good” at least 5 times 😂
It probably means that the babies are alive, which is a good thing :)
@@0553140 Well, yeah. I just find it endearing that she always says it :)
@@cuecard1872 same
It just wouldn’t be the same with out her saying “the goop looks good!”
@@SophieB3 yup, it would be a boring, bland video without that saying
I can’t wait until we get to see Busty Rhonda’s babies, glad Omnomlette actually has a batch that wasn’t eaten this year!
Yep
Yeah when I first saw it I got shook
she will never live that down lol
Must. See. All. The. Bebes.
Hahahah 😂😂🤣🤣
I will never get tired of watching baby hognose snakes wiggle around.
This is seriously a gift today. I had to put my chameleon down this weekend due to cancer. I've been trying to hold it together so I can work and thought "I really need a hognose hatch video from Snake Discovery to cheer me up". Log in and here we are, a new hatch video. Thank you for your clairvoyant releases, Snake Discovery. It's like getting a big hug in video form.
sorry for your loss ❤
😭💔🦎
Hurts to have to make that decision, we must love them enough to let them not suffer. Hugs to you!
I didnt know reptiles coud get cancer
Virtual hugs! Chameleons, like many of the awesomest critters, do NOT live long enough 😔
never seen such a chill clutch of condas before. wow. barely no hisses and no one played dead
🤗
😄💜💚💚💚💚💜❤️💛🧡💖
Can we all just collectively agree we love the egg hatching videos and this year's babies have been the cutest.
edit: my apologizes let me correct my statement "all babies from every year are sooo cute I would love to hold one one them someday"
I agree!!
100%!
meh, I'm personally of the paradoxical belief that every years babies are the cutest
Yes I agree
Yes i agree!i really think this. Years babies are the cutest and i. Love this years cluthch
What a gorgeous example of a superconda! She popped out the egg like "I woke up like this ✨"
The first was a PERFECT super Conda. Pure black belly, perfect walls, beautiful stripe, and so docile (compared to most hogs lol)
Perfect perfect perfect baby 💚💚💚💚
Just have to remember that "50% chance of" doesn't mean 50% of the clutch will be that morph. It means that each individual egg has a 50% chance of being that morph. If I flip 4 coins and they all land on 'heads', that doesn't mean the 5th coin has a higher chance of being tails - it still has a 50-50 chance
I believe that is the crutch of what's called "Gambler's Folly", where gamblers will keep trying during a losing streak because "this next one HAS to have a higher chance of being a win after all those losses!" It doesn't work that way, lol, glad to see someone else who's familiar with the way odds like this "work"!
That conda with the bright orange stripe down its back is absolutely gorgeous. Will be interesting to see in a few years if 1. The stripe stays and 2. It’s a breedable pattern if you guys decide to breed that one. Love the babies!
One of the super condas also had an orange stripe as well
@@electriclilies2642 yea but thats usually one of the trates of a super conda and much rarer as a trate in condas
@@weirdparrot5589 I wonder if the super with the stripe has genes that make it more likely to have the stripe despite being super conda, or if it's just chance how the genes were expressed?
Have you seen Justin Mitcham's (AKA extremehogs) painted stripe line? Maybe it's the same gene 😮
Didn't they already do a similar test with Stripey? They proved that his stripe wasn't passable to his offspring, so I'd assume it'd be the same thing here. Who knows though.
Egg cuttings are kinda like the one sibling running to wake up the parents on Christmas morning, forcing all the other siblings to wake up too.
I’m always impressed by the amount of snake one egg can contain
If you're keeping the conda with the stripe (18:00) , you should get one of Justin Mitcham's (extremehogs) painted stripe hoggies! According to him it's a polygenic trait, so not exactly a single gene that causes it, but through selective breeding you could really bring that out
I can't wait until you can mix these two morphs; lavender super condas are insanely gorgeous!
They're my favorite morph !! I love them sm :]
So we watched this video, then my almost-4-year-old went and dumped out one of her clear toy tubs. She insisted I come over and see her baby snakes. She explained to me how she was cutting open the eggs to help them hatch. She specifically said she had a few patternless snakes (😆) and a few "empty" eggs. Still not entirely sure how we ended up with imaginary bull snake babies, but it was very adorable and hilariously specific in her pretending to be Emily! Love it!
I'm so excited for that age! My baby is 4 months old right now.
This was a chill clutch! I don't think I saw any strikes and no one "died". So cute!
With Omnomlette as a mother maybe they’re just glad they didn’t get eaten.
@@cathygrandstaff1957 true story! 😂😂
The first super conda had a little bit of sass lol
@@victorianicholls3991 did they strike or was it just flattening out/cheek puffing or hissing? 🤔 I must've missed it. Most of the time much or all of the litter have no problems airing their grievances in grumpy snake language! 😂
why
Watching this again, up to date with omnom's passing is so sad, but it also makes me so grateful for the mark she left on the channel
I've (finally) gotten myself a superconda hognose a few days ago. It still has a little dot on its back. They're absolutely lovely 😊
Congrats!
Congrats !! What's his/her name ? :0
@@mei4069 thanks! She doesn't have one yet, i always wait a bit before I give a new spider or snake a name. Worked really well with my green bottle blue tarantula: it lost a leg which was, when it regrew much smaller. So I called it Nemo because he had a smaller floss too.
@@leaholle6916 ooo okay ! It's cool that you have tarantulas :O. I want a snake but my parents will never let me so I'm hoping for a frog :')
@@mei4069 my parents used to have several invertebrates and reptiles so I grew up with it. I always feel very sorry for the people that don't have those opportunities.
What an interesting set of ratios this time around... but the babies are all so cute!! ❤️
I love this channel so much , constantly checing on new videos that came out, or rewatch older videos. Great Job Emily and Ed, you both are such an inspiration and have the best personality. Wish I can meet you one day.
Best channel EVER

Same
And I didn't know someone has the same last name as me
It sucks watching this one a year later, knowing Omnomlette isn't with us anymore.
I agree 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Yes but these babies take on the legecy
Babies babies babies!
I love baby season, it's always delightful!
Fun fact: This is my third baby season, and I still don't know how to determine if a snake is male or female haha!
short tail- female
long tail- male
there’s other methods but that’s generally the easiest one (though it doesn’t work for every species)
@@flickerr1 Thanks! I kept thinking it was one way or the other and then Emily would say something to confuse me again lol
Babies, babies babies.
@@flickerr1 the trouble is that there are exceptions, I think they've mentioned that sometimes they'll find long tailed females (I have a hognose that is probably a long tailed female). Probing is sometimes the only way to be sure.
Their joy for baby snakes is infectious
Emily: “ oh look at this cute little hognose snake, yes I am very intimiated”
Cute little hognose snake: “ good, because I am pure evil, ssssss, fear me hooman!”
Oh noes
:0
Lol 😂
This comment made my day
Yay! Don’t think Emily has had a clutch without a SASSYY bAbYY
You've won me over to hognoses ! At first I wasn't a huge fan bc they're smaller and picky but just look at omnomlet at the end there 🥰
honestly i may be a basic hoe but my two favorite species are hognoses and ball pythons. They are such boopable sneks!!!
True
This is why hognoses are my favourite snakes because of how cute they are
You guys may not have gotten the odds on supers but you got that pretty conda. Hope she makes really pretty babies someday.
And I looove the lavenders. If I ever get a snake I'd want a lavender. Maybe someday when those are breeding I'll be in a place I could have one. They all look so pretty.
I am just here casually doing 'exposure therapy' on myself, cause I have a massive phobia for snakes (ironic since I live in Africa lol) but I am trying to get rid of my fear, even if it means looking at videos even if it makes me gag, but I just love how you're so excited and cool with them, a blind man can clearly see you really love what you are doing and I love it so I just had to subscribe 😁
Why is nobody talking about the first baby he/she is GORGEOUS! It is such a high quality conda and those dark colors are *chef’s kiss* You can tell just by the one baby how well it’s parents are taken care of, and how they have amazing genes.
I used to not like snakes, but omg those snakes are just beautiful!!
Yay more baby snakes I'm so excited and love all that you guys do, you are all so very awesome, thank you for all the videos and uploads.
That holdback girl with the caramel stripe is SO beautiful, what a lovely clutch!
I honestly like the normals just as much as the other morphs. I like how the normals just have more smaller polkadots
when Emily said "Portal baby is...alive!" i was so braced to hear a morph that i momentarily went "now what sort of snake might a lyve be?" XD
For my quarantine setups, i do paper towel bottom, add a paper towel cardboard tube and maybe a hide that will get ANOTHER layer of paper towel over top (now is hidden snek), then an open hide + water dish & other essentials.
The white wall on that first baby looked silver on screen and very shiny. Beautiful.
I'm so excited to see more hognose babies! My state requires a permit to keep hognose snakes that I learned Sunday at the local reptile expo. Gotta get a permit for next year when I visit the Tinley show.
Just hognose snakes specifically?
@@o5-7firefox probably because hognoses are considered “venomous” and you need a permit for venomous snakes
@@blindopossum7913 Huh. Interesting.
@@blindopossum7913 why are they considered venomous? 🤔
@@captainleonox3818 because they are venomous, they just don’t have a potent enough venom to cause harm to people. The only people who are at risk are people who are allergic to hognose snakes.
That first baby is so cute! I love the pattern on its head.
Yay, more baby hognoses. I kinda wished I hadn't taken a nap but oh well. A superconda just...sitting is kinda funny. they are all so cute and of course. Leave it to some hognoses to automatically burrow
All the babies were so cute. I think the sassy ones are the best. Can’t wait for the next clutch.
You guys really make me want a snake friend. The hog noses are so heckin cute.
All I am learning from these videos that breeding snakes seems really cool and since genetics are heavily involved I absolutely adore it.
I would love to see a video on your holdbacks from this year and why you chose to hold them back!
Yes please. Me Too.
Yes, great idea!
😮
I love how most baby snakes think they're big and scary snakes are adorable I love snakes especially the babies
These are probably my favorite videos!
Also idea for next year's clutches: constellations! Simple shapes, but so many choices!
Wow, seeing the shed is absolutely amazing, the superconda was so dark when he first came out and he looked almost yellow when he shed. Could you guys do a time-lapse of a snake shedding?
That was the perfect lighting to fully see the expression on those lavender babies.
All the super odds went into making the two gorgeous ones you got. They both looked so perfect :D
love seeing the babies hatch!
and i've learned so much about snakes since i started watching this channel. not to mention i share you excitement when they hatch and see the different patterns and morphs :)
Did anyone else notice that the babies were super calm?
I love how coincidentally you said thank you to omnomlette for her amazing babies and she turned her eye to look at you like "oh ur welcome"
I love how gentle they are with the snakes
I started watching while on maternity leave with my first and now I’m watching with my next. The first loves snakes now so I wonder if the new one will feel the same
I had my first just as egg-laying season was starting this year!
I love how Emily celebrates the morph every time
So happy to see more babies! Thanks for the update on the Lavanders! Please keep updates coming they are so pretty!
I love that one hognose that had pipped from the beginning but just stayed tucked in with his head poking out like "5 more minutes"
This channel is literally the best. I've been watching for years and it's so cool seeing the channel grow. (And through all these years she still hasnt changed her attitude about baby snakes! lol)
3:23 THERES A LITTLE HEART SBOVE THE EYE!!!!!!
there is lol
Since discovering y'all a couple years ago, gotta say this time of year is my absolute favorite!
Baby snakes!!!
I have been watching you guys for 2-3 years
Oh wow, that's so funny -- I just decided to rewatch Omnomlette's egg video for this year a few hours ago. Also cute baby hognoses!
I always preemptively like hognose snake baby videos TT they are just soooo adorable
I've been watching your channel for like 4 years and when I see the notifications I immediately click them to watch the videos. I love the little babies!!
The first hatched super conda is probably a strong baby! Usually the normal one hatch first.. if this super conda is a girl, she’s gonna be a great mama for sure!
I just got my first hog a month ago! Super conda het snow! I have loved them ever since finding your UA-cam :)
Omg
Your videos make me realize that even though I want a snake, I am by no means capable of properly caring for one. So I must live vicariously through your videos.
Oh my~ the snake babies are sooo cute and kind of gentle~ The belly pattern looks awesome~💞
Thank you for sharing this video~🤗
Re-watching again! Double the pleasure, Double the fun... with hoggies!! Love those head stamps and boop-able snoots! Also, your animals have the best names!
I dont remember the name of the guy who first suggested this in the video of you guys putting her eggs in incubation, but since you held back one of her babies, name it unscrambled
Oh my goodness when you zoomed in on Om-nom’s face all I could think about was naming one Piglet 🐽😍❤️🤣
There were some special-looking ones this year, huh! :D Really makes me smile when Emily does baby-voice for the baby snakes and tickles them and tells them they are very scary. :3
Honestly I like the journals best
After the past few hatching videos, I'd forgotten how teeny baby hognoses are
Remember when they used to have baby garters all the time! Those cuties are basically microscopic 😀
Same the other baby's are longer then the hognoses!
Rip Omnomlette you are loved and forever will be you awesome ❤😔
I have to say that I got so used to Emily's baby talking voice that I've been speaking to my dog in the exact same way😂 "ahhh hi cutie!"
I like how the parents eggs just decided that they’re both the best game.
I can’t wait for the false water Cobras to hatch! The baby hognoses are Adorable!
I swear I can watch these over and over again!!!
You're one of the few channels I have notifications turned on for. Love baby season
True
Me to
These videos feel like those blindbag opening ones, and I love it
They are all so tiny ☺️ ❤️
ikr!
The mommy and the baby’s are so cute!
Just love these videos 😍 those tiny hog nose babies are so adorable 😍 and Emily I adore how you talk to them like with your little baby voice hehe 😍
Great video guys 😊 love it 😍
I love how omomelet look at ed when he said her name. 😍 so precious.
Sooo excited for more hatchings! Love baby snakes so much!
Will there be a video at the end of the hatching season where we get to see all the babies your keeping? I’d be really interested to see that!
Hi😅 I watch this channel since I was four
You ask so much of Omnomlette😂 don't eat your babies, throw better morphs, don't eat my hand. She never gets to have any fun😂😂
Raise your hand if you love her videos❤
I really think it is a mixed clutch of the two dads, that or you had really weird odds. I think a mix is more likely.
This is the first snake discovery video I have ever watched
I think mom not eating her eggs was the good sign for this clutch.
"hmmm...so few of these eggs I made are condas or supers! Not delicious enough for my advanced palate. I'll leave these for the humans to dispose of." 😂
thank you for giving us so many videos to watch every time i watch one especially the egg hatching ones it bring joy to my heart
😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
All healthy! Great video and fabulous babies. 👌
I'll never get a reptile myself but y'all have made me appreciate how amazing snakes and other reptiles are
OMG! OMNOM'S EGGIES! Can't believe she made supa condas! Go, Omnom!
Hi Ed and Emily! I'm currently on the waiting list for a toffeebelly normal, but they don't eat unscented yet, so I said I'd like to wait until they do. But could you make a video on all the tricks for picky eaters?
You may want to look at past videos, they may have already done one on that subject.
Very sweet frogs❤❤❤The world is full of different shapes and sizes❤❤❤. They all need love.
