The silence is one of the worst parts of it. I am getting more and more frustrated by what is happening currently: the shop mount for $90, the anniversary grind (I am so done with grinding stuff for cosmetics that it does not feel like an in-game achievement at all), and so much more. Thank you for your comments and voicing this issue.
I have 2 accounts. I’ve cancelled 1 and put in the bank issue as reason for cancel. I plan to cancel my 2nd account before xmas. My partner has cancelled her single account also. It seems like the game is going down the toilet fast, due to poor standards and poor customer service. WOW is starting to feel like an exploitative free to play game, except everyone is paying for this poor service. No matter how good the game is or becomes, I can’t continue to play a game knowing that if they have technical difficulties and I’m affected, they could just pretend it never occurred. Feeling cared for and valued as a customer keeps them loyal. I no longer feel they care about their players. It doesn’t even matter if it was impossible to fix the bank problems or not. They didn’t even try to come up with a package of compensation be it money, play time etc. They just don’t care anymore, probably because they have cut so many staff they just don’t have time for good customer service anymore I expect the game will continue to be dumbed down and made easier and easier. They just want a conveyer belt of people to reach max level, buy their expansions and store mounts. I suspect it will go completely free to play not far in the future and standards will drop even more after that. You can already do tons of things and take part in most parts of events as a lv20 on free to play anyway.
i see the avatar, EQ is still a better game today. The population just jumps around to different servers all the time though, so not a stable pop to group with.
Some will say, "It's just pixels!" Some will say, "You hoarding elitist! You get what you deserve!" But they don't understand that those 'pixels' have something far more precious attached to them. Memories. Memories of the friends we made collecting those 'pixels', of the all nighters listening to our favorite music as we farmed, how it helped to just play during the hard times in our lives, or remembering our moms yelling at us to get off the computer and come eat. Those 'pixels' now lost were a reminder of those times both happy and sad.
Who cares what one sided trolls say. Do you? Ask any real old school player (and not those that love to say that they played from vanilla, whilst starting in MOP lol), and as you said, those collected pixels have so much depth/meaning/value to them- countless hrs spent farming, making new friendships, losing new friendships- farming so much that you could remember every detail in the area- bust most of all the FUN that was had, because farming was a part of 'the whole'. No point trying to explain that to certain wow players- easier to go learn quantum physics.....
I've lost alot of stuff that i've collected through 18 years of WoW. And when making tickets about it, they just send us to forums and articles. Blizz do nothing about it. And then they want us to celebrate 20 years of WoW, when they just took most of our stuff away from us. If thats what we get for being loyal players through the years.... .. . .. .. ..
The sad thing isn't that they messed up and released a bugged patch that took our items. The sad thing is that they entirely gave up on us and decided to sweep it under the rug rather than try to fix it or compensate anyone. The part that hurts is the fact they don't see us as worth the trouble of restoration, worth a detailed explanation, or even worth a sincere apology. I don't think I've ever felt as disrespected as a customer before, and I've dealt with comcast. Heck I don't think I've ever been threatened by any customer service representative in my life over anything, especially over an error their company caused. Yet here I am staring down the banhammer if I make another GM ticket. I've been a fan of the Warcraft series for 30 years, I got Orcs and Humans for my 10th birthday, it was my first RTS game. Bought every game Blizzard has ever made, have every wow collectors edition, been to three blizzcons and virtual ticketed the rest, I have all the books, I played the original warcraft card game. After all the support I've given over the decades, to be threatened with banishment because I was the victim of such a horrible error, that they created, is a special kind of disrespect I still cannot fathom. If there was a blizzcon this year, I'd probably have a ticket, and you'd better believe I'd lie my way up the question line to ask the devs directly what kind of out of season april fools joke this is.
Very well said. It's beyond my comprehension how they can ban someone for asking for a solution to this fiasco and being threatened and disrespected like this. It really stinks.
Sadly Blizzard is too busy selling $90 store mounts to be concerned or bothered by this issue. Sweep it under the rug, nothing to see here, move along, move along. But ty for your help and for making these videos.
This is the reply i got from bellular warcraft "i'd ideally like to do a journalism on it, actually find out wtf is going on. We'll probably chat about it on stream this friday though. Very strange problem." 6 days ago

Blizzard is losing their thin trust from the player base and that`s rly bad...
the worst loss for me is the titan steel bars i had kept to make wotlk mekgineer' bikes. spent hours and hours farming this reagent or transmuted it for days . Blizzard is worst with Microsoft
Thank you kurnmogh for continuing this. I really miss playing but I'm still so upset. I go and play for about a day and then start realizing I'm just still PISSED OFF. 20 years of collecting and losing it all except for a damn stranglekelp or copper ore left isn't acceptable! If you have any other ideas of even where we can go to get their attention I'll do it. I've put in about 8 or more tickets with same response. Also I've started at least 3 forum headings with no response either. Sigh..
The worst part of this is learning how little I mean to Blizzard. They don't care if any of us long term players leave. They will just keep selling mounts while ignoring all the bugs. I started playing in Vanilla and have played straight through with a little break in Cata. I have led a large guild since BC (we raid, run keys and very active). I have bought every epic expansion, all store mounts and pets. A few mogs. I have spent hundreds of dollars (at least) on server transfers, race changes, faction changes. I have bought shirts, jackets and gifts online. I would've bought the AH mount for sure. Now I see those things and don't care. I will continue playing while my subscription is active. Not sure beyond that. What Blizzard did to me/us is so sad. If it wasn't for my friends in guild I would stop playing. As it is I am looking for a game replacement for my guild. Good luck Kurn and thanks for trying.
We lost almost everything in our guild bank. My husband is guild master and was given a piddly amount of gold and we were left with some mageweave, linen, and that's about it.
Not sure if this is related, but the character that I use to post on the wow forum some how got disconnected from my account and I am no longer able to post to the forums. So I can no longer post my updates in the guild bank thread anymore. Still haven't received any mail regarding my guild banks. Thank you again for making content about this.
Sorry it happened - glad you are talking about it since I’ve barely heard anything about it! Very telling how much they care about the time and memories we’ve made in their world aside from bringing it up to influence people.
Keep up the good fight! However they are making money hand over fist right now and your 15 a month is pennies when they can crank out more mounts. They already got your money after years and years.
it is an odd thing for them to forget, banks are tied to our accounts while guild banks are not tied to anything but the game, as an extension. almost as if they forgot they even existed.
Yeah I looked for your comment on the Bellular video about the issues with the Anniversary. I did see a few comments about it, but not yours. I didn't dig all the way to the end though. I've watched him for several years since he's been in the past, well-balanced. They are losing a lot of good people - people who were probably knowledgeable, and possibly core-members of some groups. I unfortunately DO get lost - a lot. BUT I do know enough about the game that I am still a guide on some of my toons (in newcomer chat). Maybe that should stop too. I have for over a decade, answered questions in general chat - when others were trolling and making fun of people asking real questions, I'd whisper them and have a conversation, where people would ask more questions, knowing that they had someone who actually would help. And those who are still around, like you, have also probably become less enthused about it. People who used to joyfully rave about stuff no longer feel the excitement. I also am disconcerted that they are now blatantly selling cash items that have advantages. To me, that crosses the line. People can argue otherwise, but having a person in your group who can just pop out of the dungeon or raid and give everyone access to their mail and the AH can make a difference. Maybe it won't increase your DPS, but it is still an advantage.
You knew about the deleted support article? Just a very short paragraph acknowledging the problem and that they are working on it. When people noticed it was deleted someone on the forum mentioned that you could find it on the wayback machine, but they didn't have permission to post links. I did, so I posted the link with a screenshot. Shortly after that I couldn't post links anymore. I'm not an "influencer" I'm barely known in the FFXIV community, I've only done a few videos on wow. I've been wanting to discuss this but I want to be objective and i've been too angry to do that.
I am glad you are keeping at it. I have zero trust in them anymore. Bellular, and the other Bliz shills not saying anything is bullshit. I have 7 days left on my sub. Gonna be playing ESO and SWTOR instead.
I had multiple guild banks full of transmog, mats etc. I lost over gold cap in lost items, including nearly an entire bank tab of items that are no longer in game. Three quarters of a bank tab of fel spreaders, 12 haunted mementos etc. Yet they can charge 120 dollars for an auction house mount in my area.
mamma Kurn youre doing the lords work! im sorry this situation happened to you guys. I recently deleted bnet n wow for other reasons I encountered a disconnect bug from bnet. it would log me off the games too so i gave up. I was a long time player I had to make a new account though for reasons I had my old account deleted. but yeah I think blizz is in the wrong here. you should play other games my friend. I been watching this situation for a bit and the warbank situation at the beginning of the war within was extremely annoying! either way I can recommend games like ESO swtor and final fantasy 14!
I'm sorry to see this happen to you. If there's any silver lining, finding a new game to enjoy is an exciting adventure all on its own. An end of an era and the start of a new one for you. 🌅
I completely switched to playing private servers a year or so ago, especially since i could never trust them to do Classic+. I feel like they just expect all the people with deep investments to WoW's history to stick around/make $ no matter what, and sadly it works a lot of the time. Even for me and my brother and my friends who have been around since the early years of WoW- "lets give the expansion a chance" then quitting after 1 or 2 months has been a constant cycle since around MoP/WoD. We finally hit the point of not even trying them. It's also so liberating to get back to playing the game for the game again, not due to prior time investments, and 'hope' the game and company will improve. People hate to hear it but id straight up rather support someone hosting a private server with cosmetic donation rewards than blizz/microsoft these days.
My thoughts on the brutosaur: what use is an auction house mount if I have no items to auction because THEY GOT DELETED! You didn't think this through, did you Blizzard? :D
This would take top priority if it directly affected their bottom line, or publicly embarrassed them. I remember when Asmongold organized /spit on store-mount players, and within days-- despite how for years the community had complained it was a toxic emote-- only this was enough to move Blizzard to act to remove the emote.
I laughed REALLY hard when you decided to change Operating Systems because of WoW, and I laughed even harder when you said you'd be switching to Mac. Literally trading one company that doesn't respect you for another. At least switch to Linux, otherwise everything you said in this video is moot the moment you willingly become an apple customer lol.
I'm still following the thread and posting about it but I've moved on as far as myself. I didn't lose very much. Mostly because of my own actions (clearing out my guild banks and selling everything of value earlier in Dragonflight). I've recovered everything I lost and then some just by levelling an Earthen and running a few classic Timewalking dungeons. I'm still making noise though. I let Gamers Nexus know about this. Steve will NOT kowtow to ANY big company. He said he wasn't aware of it and will look into it. But keep in mind this type of thing is not his usual content (he more focuses on hardware). I'm not leaving yet, but this will absolutely affect my decision to stay for Midnight.
The problem with silence from the community: I do have 3 guild banks on alts. I heard about the bug but shrugged my shoulders and didn't even check until right now watching your video. There simply isn't anything in them I would care if I lost it. The oldest g/bank with stuff from vanilla looks filled enough, one of the others has two out of three tabs empty but I can't even tell you if there was something in it or not. So yeah, it doesn't effect me, and I am silent. About the mount: I find it disgusting p2w and will not buy it (also did not buy the og bruto even though I did have the gold). They even went so far to make it time limited for which there is no reason at all other than nudge people harder into buying it. I don't give a f about the story of wow for many years. But as long as I have fun to raid and do m+ with my friends/guild I will keep playing. Haven't even started to grind any of the anniversary items. I simply don't care about anything else than raid and m+ anymore.
How many people actually know this happened? The first I heard of it was a couple days ago from a friend that I had not talked to in probably 6 months. Of course people don't care because many of them don't even know this happened, and frankly a channel with 600iish subs isn't going to get the word out there.
We lost everything on horde side bank horrid no one is saying nothing its memories we kept in those banks well ours was anyway 💔 not gonna get that stuff back They don't care 🤬
600 comments? So, guild banks got emptied and only 600 people were affected enough to post on the forums? Seems off - how many guild stashes were wiped if only 600 people (assuming each a unique comment) posted?
It's just a game. Get over it... go on with your life.. Ofc i don't care. I have other problems to take care of in my life. I say it calmly and with respect. Blizzard don't care about anything.. they only care about money. period. I understand that this has upset you but it is indeed just a game. Blizzard has made millions because we care way too much about WoW. Well.. stop caring so much about WoW... as it seems you're wasting your time and money for a corporation who doesn't care and only want money. Be healthy and happy! start wasting your time and money to things that will make you happy and on thing that really matter in life. Nobody cares about a game and nobody should care about a game.
It’s because no one is talking about it. I have a playlist about what’s going on, definitely check out at least the first video. Thank you for watching!
@@kurnmogh Ok well i watched your video and while i understand you lost stuff. Imagine, i used to play Archeage for many many years. And many many thousands of hours. They completely shut down and deleted Archeage a few months ago. My characters, my gear i worked on countless hours. Everything, gone for good. So i know such loss but what i experienced was... So however precious you might think of your MMO items. It can all be deleted and it does happen that companies shut down and do it. I have learned to live with it, its like losing a cat or a dog. Greedy blizzard is probably not allowed to restore the stuff, its all about the money
all you can really do nowadays is vote with your wallet. sadly there arent enough people who're willing do that so your vote, my vote, wont really matter. if youre not part of the solution though, youre part of the problem. at least we have that i guess. sucks.
I know this point is tangential to the video, but honestly I don't understand the logic behind saying the old brutosaur was "available in the game" gold wise but the new one isn't right after you JUST SAID you might've bought it with gold, lol? It is just as available with gold as the old one. And actually, the new one is considerably cheaper gold-wise, as it'd only cost between 1 to 2 mil if you use the gold -> token method, whereas the old brutosaur cost 5mil. If people bought the old brutosaur with real money, which many did, they spent between 450 to 800 USD compared to 90. I understand complaining about this mount in a general sense, but acting as if the old one wasn't worse in every possible aspect is delusional imo.
Well, for one, I lost several tabs worth of stuff, much of it no longer obtainable in the game. The items that I had existed but no longer dropped from anything. So the fact that I lost so much stuff is a big factor. Second, the fact that they claim they CANNOT restore things. I think that’s a load of crap. I work in tech. If they truly cannot restore things then this game is doomed. What if it’s not bank items but mounts or transmogs next? What if you lose entire characters? Not being able to restore things is a major problem. But the fact is, I don’t believe they can’t restore things. I believe they are actively lying to us. The blue post on the US thread (link in description) states very sneakily that some guilds will get a partial restoration. It does not state that the rest of the guilds will get nothing. Nor does it state that the partial restores are perhaps a percent or two of what was lost, usually the cheapest items possible. So it’s a loss of trust, the fact that we literally don’t matter and the fact that I still don’t have my stuff. They have been very content to just bury their heads in the sand and ignore any and all outreach or outcry. I don’t want to give this company another dime.
@@kurnmogh I see your point. I also work in tech and i see how easily they could fix this, given how in the past they have shown the ability to rollback stuff, and having backups is the reason we have classic at all. What i don't see is why would they lie about it? It would be more honest to say that this is a non priority for them and like work on a timeline to see if stuff can be replaced.
Why in the world would blizzard think that they would have to do anything about this? You're right they're doing exactly what they want to do because you guys are going to continue to give them your money. I mean you forgave them for all the horrible things they were doing and this is just a drop in the bucket compared to that stuff. So now you've come back or maybe you never left and you're continuing to give them your money every month. 🤔 If you're addicted either get some help or help yourself it's what I did. That's not healthy. That's a good sign of addiction when everything is telling you to stop but you can't. ✌️
... and while they do it they charge 6 months of sub time for a freaking store mount ... yeah they're done. Just a bunch of aquirees, picking over the corpse of what others far greater than themselves created. This is Microsoft, thinking they're too big to fail .. I've unsubbed and gone to FFXIV, which is ROCKING at the moment. It's sad to see the differences in expansion releases between the 2 of them, WoW used to come up tops on that scale by a huge margin, but now Square Enix is literally maintaining their standard while Blizzard have sabotaged themselves below it.
So then why arent you all organizing a wow ban. Dont play for a month something will happen. Asmongold and others i lost all respect for you losers doing nothing.
Make a short concise clip about what happened and how people lost everything and the silence blizzard has responded with and send it around to a bunch of the streamers like xaryu and sodapoppin or whoever watches clips and their clips get a lot of views in response. hopefully they can use their platforms to bring highlight to this issue.

I want my Nat Pagle's Fish Terminator back. That raid was the first time I got to tank as a druid. Now it's gone, and they don't give a crap.
Don't let this die. Keep the voice high and fight for this
1:07 this is what im saying though. no one cares unless its happening to them.
side note. good music :)
They used all the wealth from the heist to make the new Bronto mount and also the Spectral Tiger (for China)
I'm sorry y'all are going thru this. I sadly don't think any of you are going to get anything more than what you already got, if anything at all.
They care as much about losing you as a customer as they do about replacing your lost items.
Bummer that all this progress was wasted.
Ive just put another post on the forum. This game makes me sad
Same on shadowlands. That intro is like pulling teeth.
How many people actually know this happened? The first I heard of it was a couple days ago from a friend that I had not talked to in probably 6 months. Of course people don't care because many of them don't even know this happened, and frankly a channel with 600iish subs isn't going to get the word out there.
Welcome to the fight on climate change and life on this planet. I feel you.
I dont know whats going on, whats going on? people dont know whats going on? and i watch a lot of wow related stuff on youtube.
$120 Australian total rip off
all you can really do nowadays is vote with your wallet. sadly there arent enough people who're willing do that so your vote, my vote, wont really matter. if youre not part of the solution though, youre part of the problem. at least we have that i guess.
Why is this bug worth quitting the game over? Real question, not gifting just wanting to understand your train of thought.
its only a game you should move on xD
BOOHOO MOVE ON!!!
Tell that to your guild master when the bank gets deleted
... and while they do it they charge 6 months of sub time for a freaking store mount ... yeah they're done.
You're in a UA-cam comment section calling people losers, pretty big "takes one to know one" energy right there.
