Goodwill is a currency, they've been building it up since TWW, and they are now cashing in. I appreciate the harsh criticism you give here Bellular, it's really important that we talk about these issues.

For real. I was excited to get a few of those new sets, but at this point I might get one and just leave it. They went with quantity over quality with this event and it's disappointing, since I was really looking forward to it. They made a mockery of the entire idea of a celebration.
Personally I was already feeling burnout but the checklist has me feeling it even worse, I wanna take time off but if I do I miss out on stuff I actually want. For me it feels lose/lose instead of "omg look at all this stuff I can do!"

This was good, im glad someone finally said the "paid beta testers" bit out loud because thats a hot feel. I am still floored at the disrespect our beloved subscription game showed players who lost their entire guild bank storage back in August though. We are STILL HERE, STILL HURTING, and waiting for any real answers/compensation/anything!!! I had 575+ different item stacks get deleted form a blizzard bug and got NOTHING back, not even an apology! More people need to be upset about this. If your mount collection or gear got wiped, would people be more mad then? Crazy, crazy behavior from blizzard.
Don't let anyone shame you into not talking about it, or making it seem like it doesn't matter. Data is sacred in long running mmos, and if they're managing it poorly enough to have *DATA LOSS*, that is an emergency. That is a ticking time bomb of an issue, and they absolutely need to address it and players need to be concerned that it even happened.
It's funny that they introduce a pricy AH mount right after they had serious AH issues with auctions vanishing. Not to mention the guild bank issue with items vanishing too, stuff I had collected for over 10 years - gone. There are just too many bugs lately, it kills my motivation to play.
They're slowling crawling back to BFA/SL quality and gameplay. Chores, bugs, etc. After the huge W for game's health and player's QoL that DF was, we're just moving back and topping it off with a lot of greed (since the early access).
They started the expansion (actually BEFORE the expansion) by having quite a few guilds (with personal guilds being the most noticeable since there aren't a number of people putting stuff in and taking out) that had a bunch of stuff disappear from the guild bank. In some banks ALL of the stuff disappeared, with an extremely disappointing (and not at all timely) response that pretty much screamed "WE DON'T CARE! We're going to do the MINIMUM without outright lying." Big bug that PERMANENTLY deleted THOUSANDS of items, followed by silence for over a month and then a less than satisfactory explanation and "resolution." This shows that ANY data could be lost and that they might do NOTHING about it, not even give a GOOD response. And this expansion has been so full of bugs - I've had to log off and log back on SO many times - more than I've had to in a very long time. I've also read that people have lost REP, etc. Do they even TEST the content anymore? I don't mean PTR. I mean PROFESSIONAL QA people pushing the games till it breaks and then keep doing it until it won't break anymore. They are rushing out content, laying people off, and who know is they are testing. Certainly, NOT testing adequately. The 20th anniversary should feel like a celebration for ALL. And yet, a lot of people are feeling left out. Also, in the past years, people just got the same % of XP buff as the number of years we are celebrating and yet, this time, you only get HALF at the start and have to do a bunch of stuff to get the rest. A lot of people love using the event (even if it's just doing trivial each day on a bunch of alts). Anniversary is a great time to not just celebrate but to say THANKS to players for being here, and especially for those who have been with them for a long time, not a bunch of chores.
It's like a meme I saw on instagram where it's "sitting in dornogal after timing a 12 siege of boralus" and it's the rick and morty scene where they're both screaming fuck and they're exhausted/traumatized lol
Honestly I felt major burnout just seeing that the content was locked behind a weekly grind and you cant even farm it at your leisure, you either do all of it or miss out, this obnoxiously aggressive design is exactly why shadowlands/bfa failed, someone learned absoleutley nothing on pacing. Let, players, decide, the, pace. If people wanna complete all renowns on week one? Let them, if they want to farm badges till they drop, let them, this shouldnt be an issue. Content design has become more and more egreciously built around forcing you to play instead of letting you play at your pace, the fomo miss out attitude is the issue. Delves shouldnt have seasons, they should have challanges, and new ones for new content, seasons in general should just be dropped and we should focus more on things players want, like persistant content. Blizzard is marketing this to a mobile gamer mindset of you have to do everything now or miss out forever, and its a destructive way to design games, it basically demands 100% of your time but for 100% of no reward, for example, yes, you only have to complete every quest tied to the currency weekly, but the fact you have to do that at all means they expect you to sacrifice your time doing ANYTHING else, to hyper-fixate on the event. You cannot with a straight face, tell me thats a good idea. This is exactly why so many players are, rightly, burned out, tired, and honestly fed up. Let me farm the tokens, you may not like me finishing your content in a week but I want to get it over and done with and do other things besides play wow all day or just play weekly content every week. Classic wow worked because the freedom to choose your own play speed was a focus of the games core, now its about aggressively using fomo to force retention so you dont leave or you miss the cool exciting promotions. Enough is enough, fomo needs to go.
I'm a pretty casual player these days as I'm older and the responsibilities of real-life stuff weighs my gaming time down... so for me I was looking forward to leveling alts during the timewalking events and getting tokens for the cool skins I wanted in the old days while leveling them, but with a lot of the tokens being linked to events locked in Dornogal or the current raid I find myself playing my main 80 and then being so burnt out after finishing all the weekly stuff for tokens that I end up just logging off. Sucks man.. I was really looking forward to this event.
I'm 43, guildless, and just want to hop in, play a bit, and go about my business. Having to wait 30-45 minutes to just get a dungeon just kills any momentum. I honestly wish there was a follower version just so I can play what I want with out having to find ways to fill time.
Try New World Aetherium, bro! I've been playing this game since I broke my leg, and honestly, it’s been a game-changer. Believe it or not, playing WoW actually increases my pain. Turns out, WoW puts a surprising amount of strain on my system - it may give that dopamine rush, but your body takes a hit. With New World, it’s a whole different experience. I can play for hours with zero physical strain, and it’s genuinely relaxing, like ASMR but in gaming form. No FOMO, no discomfort - just pure, enjoyable gameplay. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something fun and easy on the body! With New World, it’s a whole different experience. Exactly. People grinded that Siren Isle Mount in a day or two and then complained about the grind. It wasn’t designed to grind, it was designed to unlock after a week or two of play.
Time gate on cosmetics/tmog seems a bit strange. The massive list of chores takes the shine out of such a fun and monumental event. To celebrate and essentially say thank you for playing this game we should almost be able to just pick up the sets with ease
Yeah. It should be a celebration, a time to look back, and a big THANK YOU. They should have had a few things to buy with currency that you could just get from trying out the activities but the rest should just feel like a big party, not a bunch of chores. 20 is BIG and there are still people who have been playing if not that long then almost as long. The THANKS for being here SHOULD have been the point,, not "let's use this to get time-played metric up!" Also, that we have to EARN the 10% XP bonus (whereas, up to 19th anniversary, they just gave you the FULL 19% in the mail) for such a MILESTONE CELEBRATION feels SO cheap. And everyone - whether they just started, have TWW or DON'T have TWW should have been able to get everything. This shouldn't have been "HEY, let's use this to MAKE people get TWW" event. I thought that the nice mail, with the XP bonus, fireworks and a PET during the earlier anniversaries had more of that spirit than this does.
I made my friend go back and now he bought this stupid mount and i feel so bad for it… i will probably never tell anyone again about this game, i dont want to be the reason they get scammed that hard…

HEY GUYS it's 20th annaversary! instead of giving you more good stuff to work for here is a 78euro mount, another mount pack for 30euros. Oh we still have not fixed the guild wide occasional freeze lag. M+ is still unbalanced, we buffed the top classes and nerfed the worst classes. We broke Rogue for a day. Normal and Hero BRD is overtuned AF compared to current spider raid that is the "Main season" raid. We have given no information as per usual on what we are going to do to fix or do in close future. And this is the top of the iceberg xD
Don't also forget that map pins are broken, everytime i'm in a party their location on the map is nowhere near where they actually are and same with quests. Edit: I think that M+ was killed this season so I don't know if i'll continue after my sub finishes.
but who cares? they make millions selling a 90$ pixel mount, its really starting to fill like they are trying to wring every last drop of money and forget about it
So tired of sooo many micro transactions in a subscription game. You buy the game, pay to play the game, and gotta pay more for in game perks. I’m genuinely disappointed, and a long time player who really enjoys the game.
It’s not a 11.0.5 issue but I would’ve liked to see Bellular take this opportunity to mention the guild bank deletion of items. Content creators are far too silent on it and bank data not being secure seems like a big issue to me.
I lost 7 full tabs of pets that I slowly acquired since the battle pet system was introduced. And another half ish tab of lvl 25s. I can't even begin to place a value on what was lost.
Yup, no mention of the guild bank deletion bug. I lost 7 tabs worth of items. So silent that my opinion some have been given some sort of kick back to not mention it.
Agreed. Our guild lost everything from the guild bank, lots of expensive items in there. Haven't received anything back from Blizzard which is a disgrace.
Bro hit the nail on the head about returning WOW players feeling instant regret. I hadn't played in years and came back to TWW...for this? Can't touch anything with the "Activision/Blizzard" name on it anymore. It's all dogshit.

Read the chat, a lot of people are leaving the game. Blizzard thinks they can shit on their fans and it'll be okay. Old Kings use to do that too, give the people rotten meat and eat all of the fresh food..... WELL til they over thrown haha.
This exactly! I kinda want the mount, But I dont think blizz deserves the money, the game overall is is rough shape is seems to be just changed with vibes after changes, never what feedback was before
The real game breaking bug was the one that wiped entire guild banks for good at TWW launch. What's more sad is that such a scandal has found no voice in this channel.
Indeed. If anything that needs its own video. Afterall its been a cascading series of failures that's lead up to where we are now with that issue. And where we are now is essentially the Maw. Aka stuffed into an uncaring purgatory of a thread in the general forums where there is no hope, no moderation, plenty of tormenting trolls, where we scream out into the uncaring void until we fizzle out from entropy.
This. It hurts so damn much to be betrayed by the blizzard/WoW team (even if it was an accident), and then not enough of the community joins you in protest of the poor handle of it afterward.
I genuinely don't know why nobody is talking about this. Like that is a SERIOUS problem, data loss in an mmo calls into question how carefully they're actually maintaining account data.
Last year, for six month, the 'quality Windows update' caused two of my PC's to be unusable. The desktop and start menus were broken and the monitor flickered. The only way to unfix it was to restart in bios an uninstall the updates. Now the only known issue that Windows has is that I have to reset Windows Audio regularly because Windows messes with the sound settings. These WoW changes sound spot on that Microsoft are having their effect.
This is why I’m a very casual player now, I like the story (mostly) , but the amount of change to specs and bugs becomes very frustrating. I have every alt after playing for so many years but I generally play pala, priest and shaman. But I’m becoming less and less interested with the continual changes and having to relearn at every major patch.
totally agree with you. I miss the days when you could just spam all your available damaging abilities and you would do decent damage in dungeons and raids. now you have to learn exactly which talents to take for which fights, which buttons to press when, which stats to prioritise etc. it's really very exhausting for casual players. I get more enjoyment out of an hour of playing Diablo IV
That's why I play classic where players can come up with events on their own. In the retail version I feel like having a second job for most of the time. In classic, I choose if I want to run dungeons, raids, bgs, rp pvp or custom made events by players and there isn't a downside if I miss a week or two.
It almost makes it comical. They are making more money then ever by prioritizing micro transactions over game quality in EVERY SINGLE IP they have. Despite this they have been having massive layoffs and across all IP’s player enjoyment seems to be, arguably, at a all time low. Then the CEO gives themselves a huge bonus that’s extremely undeserved. It’s almost funny how sad it is.
Yep. That's where the mount money is going. People buying mounts, pets and transmogs. Money isn't going into the game development, but in that guy's pocket.
as soon as I'm done farming this event, I'm taking a break from wow. I thought maybe "i'm just old", but it might ALSO ( ;) ) be that there's just too much stuff you HAVE to do.
90 USD on a mount like that is absolutely ridiculous considering the absolute slop they've produced. The remade armor sets are cool, but it feels like the only thing that they actually spent time on doing. Including the anniversary mount. The event itself is boring, and feels more and more like a slap to the face. Mount mania, story time, fashion frenzy... all of it, its just a whole big nothing burger. it feels like 11.0.5 was just wasted entirely
The absence of changes for Mage Tower but sudden change to older raids not being possible to be "one-shotted" and being somehow harder than before makes me think that they "hired" an AI to do something and didn't actually know what was changed in the code. Let's add to that problems with scaling, players being able to pull over 30 million dps as low levels while being in BRD and lack of any communication and we have a game that declares itself as an MMO but at the same time it's still a subscription-based disaster.
Developers don't make those decisions about what to fix and what to leave as-is. Project managers make those decisions. Everybody rags on the devs when they're just taking orders. It's the project managers who call the shots, and they're the ones who deserve the heat.
Ran guild raid last night. 3-5 people disconnected over the course of the raid. We were so confused. Some people weren’t able to loot either. Guess we know why now
I'm still smarting from the 'Great Blizzard Bank Heist' - I'm still not using the Guild bank incase more stuff is 'lost' and the only reply from Bliz is "sorry" 😡
It’s funny how the mount price point is the same as the Bnet balance people have from redeeming collectors editions when they preordered the digital deluxe. Easier to spend money that’s already out of your wallet :)
I wish they’d done some little nostalgic storyline that celebrates the heroes that have endured through some tough stories (yeah, us). Something quaint, and a bit of a nod to the players that have kept them afloat this long. I love TWW so far, there’s tons to do as a mostly solo player, but the disjointed chaos that’s the anniversary event has me off doing other things.
I absolutely hate the event. Its basically chores. not fun activities... i have issues getting invested in doing them as (as you mentioned) i have to find a guide. most things require people... and then other things are like you said "a bit of this, a bit of that" but none of it to me is fun (this is personal) yet i would love some of those sets. I also hate the timegating, i get that it is often needed but its just "do this weekly or you are behind"
@@Rabblemuch you re entrapped into a pay2play system, OBVIOUSLY you will be timegated into doing activities how else are you going to refresh that monthly payment? They are predatory, always were, I dont know how people seem to forget so easily this fact.
@@Iamsofakingwetartit the thing i hate about is, is the fact that you are correct. But also the fact that im naive enough to think things might ever change. Again i know games are made to make money. As someone who played since the start of TBC, part of me hopes some parts of the game would go back to how it was then.... Or atleast how my young self at that time experienced the game then... If you wanted you could grind rep or stuff for as long as you wanted to, yet the game remained interesting (to me atleast) I understand why they do timegating but it feels like a lazy way to keep the game relevant rather than adding more content
@@Rabblemuch back in 2006-2010 things were much different, slower paced, we didnt have the archive of wiki info back then like we did today and this system worked. Release the expansions afterwards although was a grave mistake, once I realized that previous expac became obsolete with each new addition I was stunned by how people did not have the same reaction as me. How can blissard release 10 expansions that each deleted the previous one, deprived off any new adition that was added to the game and their only marketting point was FEATURES that are basic features in other mmos. I dont expect people to share my opinion to everything but I dont want to believe we are this guilible.
The thing that really bothers me is they wont apologize or try to explain what went wrong. They will just continue hotfixing things and act like its no big deal.
Cata Classic had this the worst, they simply ignored the original prepatch elemental invason, alongside the story that led up to the events of Cata, and they acted as nothing happened.
As a Vanilla onward player, I was really excited for the 20th anniversary event, and to be fair they have put a lot of effort into all the extra vendors, location graphics, etc. But I did a few quests, the awful Chromie dungeon, and then "Nah, I can't be bothered with all this for some transmog or pets" and went straight back to spamming tier 8 delves for gear on my alts.
They did so well with the trading post and the monthly "points". you can easily max it out every month just by playing the game and not having to focus on it at all, this is how the event tokens should be too.
Even if the patch is good Blizzard is killing its golden goose to get the eggs. You make money now but if you sacrifice goodwill for it, people may not come back.
I have managed to not play retail wow since shadowlands.. they lost me, and I will not cave and come crawling back to them.. but man I do miss wow. they should be careful to not have another exodus like the Shadowlands/FF14 time
*People paid more for the mount than they did for the expansion… that’s insane.* The Brutosaur mount is the digital version of the cyber truck. Show the world you’re willing to overpay for something that is unnecessary. *And since they did, the prices will only go up.*
Here I thought it was just me. Michael, I'm so glad you said everything as-it-is right now. When I saw the $90 mount, my mouth dropped to the floor. It ranks right up there with the "star horse" of the past. And I would have considered the mount IF IT HAD A MOBLE BANK! I don't care about a mobile AH! (other players may care). I agree with you, the devs have been pushing slop at us. The new expac, although something we do want, is teeny tiny...for a premium price...the same price they charged for larger expacs! This is what is getting under my skin and really has me looking for the next WoW replacement game.
So what I'm thinking they should do now to somehow rectify the "list of chores" situation is increase the amount of tokens you get per quest/activity and also put a cap on the amount of tokens you can get per week. It won't solve the problem, but it would help at least a little at this point with the bad taste in people's mouths. Here's to hoping they do it from next reset onwards
Codex of Chromie is definitely the most baffling piece of content this expansion. It has virtually no gameplay, takes far too much time and has zero nostalgia value. It has nothing to do with the opening of AQ aside from using an instance of Silithus. What was the point?
They could have made something much better with similar effort, make the whole thing a joke about how timeline shenanigans caused the lag in Vanilla, throw in some references to Scarab Lord drama, free win.
Have they finally fixed the entire group being DC'ed? I tried it the other day, and yes, our entire group was DC'ed. When we managed to get back in, we all received the message we weren't in this instance and would be teleported to the nearest graveyard, essentially wiping any progress.
The 90$ mount is legitimately insane. It is more than they have charged for any shipped game they have ever made. It is more than several year long subscription sales they have previously run. It is worth more than numerous mount/transmog/pet bundles that they have run. And is the equivalent of 4 1/2 battle tokens (probably a not so subtle attempt to reset the gold market). This mount is legitimately insane... and is just indicative (imo) of a literal fire sale on the game and it's branding.
They started off with improvements on the writing front, banger zone design and transmogs, and then plummeted downhill at breakneck speed the moment the actual season started. Garbage dungeon selection for M+, garbage changes to the reward tiers for vault, no end of bugs, an anniversary celebration that's actually just a glorified FOMO grind, an anniversary raid so overtuned you needed a dedicated team of mostly 620+ ilvl on comms with foreknowledge of the bosses to clear Heroic for gear that's 10 ilvl below that, and on top of all that they release a $90 mount right alongside the 12 month sub bundle. Fuck blizzard.
Burning the Goodwill Candle at both ends lately. I like playing with my wife and friend but it's getting harder to justify the sub costs and we're playing together less and less each weekend.
not sure how anyone is surprised by this when TWW came out i was feeling that "wow itch" but i told myself "No! Not this time" and unlock every other expansion since TBC I actually did not get the game again to play at launch. I'm glad i finally broke the WoW addiction and sad the game will never be (or likely will never be) as great as it once was.
I'm glad that you mentioned the server lag. Ever since the anniversary patch I have had such bad server lag and its been killing my M+ runs because I'm a tank. I have been going crazy changing all my settings trying to get this fixed. Glad to know its not a me problem.
14:32 Class design is good - Class balance is absolutely bonkers. And changing main stats and playstyles/talents together with a rollercoaster of buffs and nerfs... that's really not ok either.
I think one of the reasons the game is a bugfest is the fact that they fire devs with experience and probably replace them with people that are fresh out of uni with 0 professional experience or experience in an MMO.
This. This kind of loss of institutional knowledge is CATASTROPHIC. That it is being done as a cost cutting measure, because they want to pay the junior devs less than the devs with more seniority and experience is how we get this mess.
Nevermind experience in an MMO, its lack of experience with the WoW codebase. The WoW codebase will be an absolute mess of filthy disgusting technical debt and decisions that anybody still at the company will have no context for why its the way it is.
Tormentors of Torghast is completely broken for months now, so Breaking the Chains achievement, as well similar meta-achievements in mechagon just can't be completed, and they just won't do anything about it, since it's "old content".
tbh I had no idea about any of these issues, although I do find the stinginess with the bronze festival tokens quite sad. Also, queuing for the Codex and the Raid on Normal can take forever, even on Friday and Saturday nights.
The pt-br translation has been bad since it's inception. Translations that are technically correct, but this context uses a different word. For a TWW example, the nerubian tunnels that say "boring" when you use them, because you're boring through the earth. The translation says "bored" as in you're bored of this. There has never been QA for this language, and it's honestly getting worse and worse with every patch.
I bought TWW only because I still had some gold in the game and it ended up that I played for maybe 15 days, mainly doing Delvs alts, and i got discouraged when, before the premiere, I saw that they increased the penalty for dying on M+, and what else It turned out that dungeons are more difficult without a greater reward, so I decided that this design failure is not worth waiting in the group finder, and for a dungeon like Necrotic Wake, which is tragic i didn't want to do this dungeon ever again. Now this patch has come out, I haven't come back and I was happy to see that I didn't participate in the paid beta of the patch and as a reward Blizzard spit on player with 90$ mount in store Awesome. the only thing I'm waiting for is the changes to M+, if they aren't there, I simply won't come back.
Hey don't worry, if you spend $20 on a pet they'll donate it to a charity, but make sure to spend $120 (for me) for a mount that none of the money goes to charity from your purchase.
They removed the Shadowlands campaign stories and instead of making the game easier, they make it more difficult and distract players from the game. The Threads of Fate Campaign skip in Shadowlands is no longer available for leveling or max-level characters. Any characters who have already chosen Threads of Fate prior to Dragonflight will be able to finish it. However, characters who never initiated Threads of Fate will be restricted only to the zone-by-zone Covenant campaign for Shadowlands. If you already chose Threads of Fate, do not choose Chromie Time's Shadowlands - Realms of Death. If you do switch to Realms of Death while Threads of Fate is active, you will retain most of the features of Threads of Fate, but you will lose access to World Quests until level 60.
I've all respect for the devs. I'm pretty sure they are not the problem. They want to work out of passion and creativity AND with respect towards the community. I truly believe that. Sadly, they are working for a bunch of baboons that see only dollar signs. MS, Activision, Blizzard is non-existant. Has dissapeared in the evil void of the other two. 'Not finished? Oh don't worry, just push it through'. We don't care anymore about the players, we care about monetization. I've never seen a company go so fast from 'no, we do not want microtransactions to hell yes, fill our pockets'. I truly feel for the people who do want to work for the game and the players.
I think a good example for this is Hello Games. No Man’s Sky was pure “slop” when it released, and is now easily in my top three favorite games of all time. The devs don’t answer to anyone but themselves and consistently put out new content that is fun, engaging, and rewarding. The craziest part is that the DLCs are FREE. You just don’t see this model very much anymore with how commercialized gaming has become. NMS is one of the last few games that makes me feel like a “gamer”.
Thank you for making this video. You understand the issues completely. So much of the "content" that was just added is just slop that no one would ever do without the rewards being tied to it. I understand their desire to push out content faster for keeping subscriptions, but they just lost my subscription with the substandard quality of the patch. Hopefully they learn something from this, but I'm afraid that them rewarding themselves with a store mount bonus will just cause them to push forward with this awful structure.
I’m out this expansion I’ll see you guys till the main story is moved forward no point in playing delves or anything in the game if minor updates causes core systems breaking
ANOTHER one of those "just because". During the "M0 week" at end of dungeon my Havoc DH (loot spec Havoc) got a tank trinket. I put in a ticket for this and was given a LINK to a article and what can drop from OTHER Wow activities. However in this article it states that DUNGEON/RAID loot WILL be loot spec items. GMs tell me that I received what was possible. You can't make this shit up...
$90 for ANY mount is ridiculous. I could see the mount being a reward for say a one year subscription, but just $90 for a mount that really does nothing other than give you a SLIGHT convenience. I mean really, how many times have you been out and said "Damn, if only i had the AH right here right now, I NEED IT!" I'd like to guess that number is close to 0. It's absurd, yet people will pay for it and Blizzard knows this
The only one celebriting 20th anniversary is Blizzard. And with this mount players are paying for it. And there are a lot of them. Dornogal is literally filled with mounted players. Our obvious stupidity made everything they did worth. The ones prouncing about with brutosaurus made their worst calibrated patch rewarded.
For a company that had Metzen come out and say 'We are playing for all the marbles." They don't seem to be acting like it. I'm glad to see you call out the slop that is currently going on. I instantly disliked chromie's scenario after I did it. The anniversary hub seems to only exists for some achievements after that I don't understand what I'm expected to do. The raid felt just off is so many ways and clashed with what was actually current season. And the whole currency reward system makes it feel like busywork. I'm having a better and more enjoyable time playing the base expansion content.
Reshipped skin for a $90 mount and also not even touching on the economy issues. Blizz is crazy to me to think mass amount of players will shell out for this!
SaD players convinced themselves a thin and shallow gimmick was going to make it past honeymoon phase one. thats on you. its like they saw the PS Chromie Craft and said "Lets do that but worse and with a terrible glyph gimmick".
I remember a video from the blizzard team (community update or whatever it’s called), maybe a year or two ago, and they were saying “please give WoW a chance, please give us a chance”, and the guy (don’t know his name), his eyes started to well up a little. Well, the players HAVE given blizz that chance since then, and blizz is blowing it for this 20th event. Godawful bronze grind. Inexcusable bugs. Unabashed cash grab with the $90 mount. Blizzard has learned nothing. Friends who skipped the last couple expansions and returned for the 20th are not impressed, and not having fun. They will unsub and I feel embarrassed talking them into coming back for the 20th.
It's basically just manipulation, they know how emotional wow players can be so doing the "family" act, like an abusive spouse saying they changed and crying and lovebombing you. They know how to push the players buttons and know they won't leave for long, you can see now that they're back they're back to basically 0 communication and pumping tons of microtransactions/daily grinds.
The 90$ Brutosaur *not* coming with at least a *6 month sub* is very nearly an unforgivable insult. It is the clear example of them seeing us as pay-pigs, guilted into hurling money into a hollow shad of the once Great Game. IF they actually took the time to *finish patches* they would earn our trust & our gratitude; but all they care about is our *money.*
Is Bobby still there? A $90 mount right after one of their worst ever patches seems like peak Kotick. If they wanted the mount to represent the patch, it should be a giant, arthritic Nerubian mount that warps you under the ground and dies instantly.
The worst part I see no one talking about is that you can't do the Codex of Chromie if you don't own War Within. This is supposed to be a celebration of the past But you can't complete the meta achievement unless you pay more.
People don't understand that buying micro transactions ruins the game long term but the wow community is so used to being mistreated they don't care lol
Indeed, I've never bought a game card in order to get gold but I'm feeling like I have to when I get paid next week because of the immense cost of getting gear for new 80's.
dont know if it has been fixed but i have not seen it addressed. BRD was told to be a leveling raid, so i thought gear drops would either scale down or drop at 80 and just have them rdy for max level neither of these things happend. my character got loot locked and was unable to interact with any boss corpses tldr; dont do BRD if not 80 if you want loot or keys
@@StormsparkPegasus Alt parking may not work quite as well if you're open world farming and your bags are constantly filling up. What I've described isn't a big deal, but ultimately this is more of a luxury item rather than a necessity.
@@borga6566 That's true, but there are many mounts with vendors. And there are several other mailbox toys. And really...how much stuff are you really selling at the AH vs vendoring? The brutosaur is a slight convenience item. That's it. It's not really any more "necessary" than the traveler's tundra mammoth that everyone can get easily now.
@@StormsparkPegasus The mailbox on demand is what makes it really different. Imo, the auction house doesn't matter even nearly as much as the mailbox. With the mailbox, you can actively funnel to your bank alt(s) whenever you want without having to wait for the mailbox CDs to come off cooldown. This is a slight convenience item for the average player, but it's potentially a massive economic boost for people who actively make trips to the AH or funnel resources constantly.
@@borga6566 Fair enough...but keep in mind people like that are swimming in enough gold to easily just convert gold to bnet balance and buy it. And it takes something like 1/3 of the amount of gold that the original Brutosaur costs. I still think this was a really weird decision, but we'll see. Most players wouldn't really benefit from it much, it'd just be a slight convenience.
Wow has become such a chore, it's disappointing, especially for us casuals who work all day doing tasks and then come to play the game and it's all task driven. This is why indie games are so popular these days, no one can be arsed with all this grinding and chore based activities. Time gated content just makes it even worse. Let us all play the game however we want.

Crazy, crazy behavior from blizzard.
just quit tbh

This is worlds worse than BFA lmao
a mount that costs more than an expansion and half a year of sub time LOL

@@christian123542so they bought the mount using other people’s money that also had a $5 mark up. Cause that makes it better…
Mount is half the price than it was in BFA though
Anniversary is a great time to not just celebrate but to say THANKS to players for being here, and especially for those who have been with them for a long time, not a bunch of chores.

best summary of it all and it really captures the essence of many of us wow players' feelings!
Could not have said it better.
Another example is the quest for the extra 10% exp boost on alts. It takes so long for an alt to fill the bar that it's likely not worth doing.
Almost the same here. Except I logged out and haven't logged back in since Thursday
Chromie's Codex was so crazy. When it ended I typed: that's it? No challenge, no structure, no storyline, nothing.
i didn't expect much really so i didn't get dissapointed
I was like"wtf? What was that shit?!"
Not to mention the 30 minute queue time lol
Lol was it supposed to be a tear in time during the ahnqiraj invasion? Is that why yochondrius at the end?
Very weird. Plop around the map a few times and you're done 🤷♀
They did so well with the trading post and the monthly "points". you can easily max it out every month just by playing the game and not having to focus on it at all, this is how the event tokens should be too.
130$ mount in Canada. could buy the next two xpacs lol and still go get McDonalds
Dont forget the 'Daily' Exp buff quest that you have to be online to timeout the buff in order to repick it up if you want the Tokens it rewards...
Even if the patch is good Blizzard is killing its golden goose to get the eggs. You make money now but if you sacrifice goodwill for it, people may not come back.
I have managed to not play retail wow since shadowlands.. they lost me, and I will not cave and come crawling back to them.. but man I do miss wow.
they should be careful to not have another exodus like the Shadowlands/FF14 time
as soon as WOTLK comes out in ascension I'm gone for good lol
@@H41030v3rki110ny0uomfg this casual wow player… play ff and forgot about wow pls
Nope. They’ve had horrible expansions and bounced back. The high of Dragonflight is over and they will probably go down now.
Except a fuck ton of people bought it and the community is not hating this patch in the fucking slightest.
*People paid more for the mount than they did for the expansion… that’s insane.*
The Brutosaur mount is the digital version of the cyber truck. Show the world you’re willing to overpay for something that is unnecessary.
*And since they did, the prices will only go up.*
So the honeymoon is over?
Always has been 🔫👨🚀
Unfortunately yes.
It's frustrating because this is such an unforced error. Two weeks was probably enough for fix the vast majority of these problems.
If this patch had been better it wouldn't be. The launch of TWW was still great, they just really messed up with this patch
Let the rage farming commence. Took longer than I thought
How can you take quality control seriously when you've laid off most of your QA team
Been a long time any mmo have been rewarding player for the time invested rather then the money invested...
Not having the 100 currency achi needed for repeated farm would have also solved the event. It I don't want a pre-grind for my grinding.
I tried the Codex of Chromie today, and it was NOT worth the long queue time.
Very uninspired, yep. Run here, kill stuff. Go there, kill stuff. You're done, get outta here.
Codex of Chromie was rushed hot garbage.
I like playing with my wife and friend but it's getting harder to justify the sub costs and we're playing together less and less each weekend.
a fun one that i don't think anyone has noticed: in Delves as Enhancement Stormbringer Shaman, Brann will dispell the speed buff from Tempest 😂
Blizzard and quality haven't gone together in so many years.
not sure how anyone is surprised by this when TWW came out i was feeling that "wow itch" but i told myself "No! Not this time" and unlock every other expansion since TBC I actually did not get the game again to play at launch. I'm glad i finally broke the WoW addiction and sad the game will never be (or likely will never be) as great as it once was.
I remember when we called it Beta for Azeroth. This is all just par for the course, isn't that the expression?
I'm glad that you mentioned the server lag. Ever since the anniversary patch I have had such bad server lag and its been killing my M+ runs because I'm a tank. I have been going crazy changing all my settings trying to get this fixed. Glad to know its not a me problem.
Most of us stopped taking this company seriously years ago
When all the original people left.. slowly over a decade..
🎯
This. This kind of loss of institutional knowledge is CATASTROPHIC. That it is being done as a cost cutting measure, because they want to pay the junior devs less than the devs with more seniority and experience is how we get this mess.
Don't forget they fired the QA and support people.
Nevermind experience in an MMO, its lack of experience with the WoW codebase.
The WoW codebase will be an absolute mess of filthy disgusting technical debt and decisions that anybody still at the company will have no context for why its the way it is.
If they've fired that many experienced devs....you get what you deserve
Tormentors of Torghast is completely broken for months now, so Breaking the Chains achievement, as well similar meta-achievements in mechagon just can't be completed, and they just won't do anything about it, since it's "old content".
this is why i play solo, so i can dump the game at any time. What a joke.
tbh I had no idea about any of these issues, although I do find the stinginess with the bronze festival tokens quite sad.
Do you really believe in charity? 😂😂
its literally all a tax write off anyways, the fact you dont know this..🤣
Or wait , maybe don’t

@@Shadowangel5760 what fact mate?
Oh sarcasm just one of those things you don't understand, it's okay. You tried.
If you do switch to Realms of Death while Threads of Fate is active, you will retain most of the features of Threads of Fate, but you will lose access to World Quests until level 60.
i would like some of the Armour transmogs, but i dont have the will to do all the things i need to
I've all respect for the devs.
For $90, that mount should have a transmog and a repair person on board as well!!
for 90 dollars that mount better beat mythic raids for me its more expensive than the actual game
For $90 it should blow me
that one will be $120!
They are not making you buy it, lol!!
@@circhoronosyou legit could have paid for mythic carries for the entire expansion for 90$.
"If you don't enjoy it, don't play"
And so people are stopping playing
Let all the $90 mount riders sit in the main city together as they AFK
Thank you for making this video. You understand the issues completely. So much of the "content" that was just added is just slop that no one would ever do without the rewards being tied to it. I understand their desire to push out content faster for keeping subscriptions, but they just lost my subscription with the substandard quality of the patch. Hopefully they learn something from this, but I'm afraid that them rewarding themselves with a store mount bonus will just cause them to push forward with this awful structure.
I’m out this expansion I’ll see you guys till the main story is moved forward no point in playing delves or anything in the game if minor updates causes core systems breaking
Moved foward to where? WoW shouldn't have lived this long, anything that was built is now over.
Even Sargeras is gone, who else is there to defeat?
Welcome to how SoD players have been feeling since P2.
SaD players convinced themselves a thin and shallow gimmick was going to make it past honeymoon phase one. thats on you. its like they saw the PS Chromie Craft and said "Lets do that but worse and with a terrible glyph gimmick".
@@Shiirow I quit SoD to come back to TWW because it looked fun, and now this is happening. I think Blizzard is just cooked.
No wonder so many (and not only) SoD players have been switching to alternatives like Turtle WoW lately.
They know how to push the players buttons and know they won't leave for long, you can see now that they're back they're back to basically 0 communication and pumping tons of microtransactions/daily grinds.
imagine the designers who made awakening the machine and the chromie thing exactly how they wanted to right now... KEKW oh man, brutal
No, the machine has proof it was much more, before it became . . . that
The 90$ Brutosaur *not* coming with at least a *6 month sub* is very nearly an unforgivable insult.
It is the clear example of them seeing us as pay-pigs, guilted into hurling money into a hollow shad of the once Great Game.
IF they actually took the time to *finish patches* they would earn our trust & our gratitude; but all they care about is our *money.*
I made it about a month with War Within and the daily chore got to me after that.
What daily chores would that be?
@memoriukas555 dailies in general. I've been doing them since original BC. At some point, they are all the same
Is Bobby still there? A $90 mount right after one of their worst ever patches seems like peak Kotick. If they wanted the mount to represent the patch, it should be a giant, arthritic Nerubian mount that warps you under the ground and dies instantly.
The worst part I see no one talking about is that you can't do the Codex of Chromie if you don't own War Within. This is supposed to be a celebration of the past But you can't complete the meta achievement unless you pay more.
A lot of weeklies require you to have finished war within as well, when they originally said that you can "join the celebration" on level 10.
i don't own TWW and i did Codex today

As an Engineer, I'm immune to all this. Dalaran hearth has my auction house and I made a toy that pops a mailbox.
There are a bunch of mailbox toys anyone can get too. And...whatever happened to just parking an alt by the auction house?
