- Silverstone Auctions are holding a live online auction on the 13th and 14th November and I went along to do a video of some of the feature cars in sale. There's over 150 cars up for grabs in the two days sale, with some real stars in the catalogue. Hope you enjoy this video, there will be an extended version featuring more cars going live later next week.

I had a 61 plate SLS roadster in le mans red cost £118,000 in 2014.... it drove terribly but looked fab, should have kept it. INVESTMENT SUGGESTION If you have £70k to invest YOU MUST buy an i8 Roadster as only 2976 made, and BMW head told me no more exotica cars of any type in pipeline next decade - these will be M1 money (£500K) albeit in 40 yrs, as major manufacturers supercars always flop at the time eg 60s Toyota 2000gt (E type lookalike featured in you only live twice film), E26 M1, Xj220 (I bought one in 1998 for £156,000 a third of its list - they are now £400k), NSX MK1, Z8 (bought one in 2004 discounted 25% for £61,000) and original Ford GT that had a few unsold at end of run because of reliability issues.
Those little 80s rally cars are fab.... I'll take a T16! The M1 kitted out is amazing beauty cheap too as totally original car very low mileage go for £500k!

I'm a car nerd. A flamethrowing Lamborghini on UA-cam is nice. But Harry talking about all the ins and outs with years and years of knowledge is the best!

Pity you didnt take a Proper look at John Price Renault 5 Maxi Turbo 2 The man was a legend having competed in over 850 rallys here in Ireland, U.K & Europe and a Hell of a lot of them in that car John Price passed away last April R.I.P.

Great video as always, - lovely to see the SLS and hear your comments. You forgot to mention it was designed by a British designer. I designed the exterior, and seeing it always makes me so proud. I wish I could afford one. By the way, The red colour was the original press colour of the car, quite a controversial colour choice back then but I like it. Regards, Mark

Always enjoy these Silverstone Auction vlogs looking at all the other cars in the background, love the look of the 1987 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo and the white Escort RS Cosworth.
Yeah that BMW single motorcycle caught my eye when Harry was looking at the M1!
30 minutes? Come on Harry, that's not nearly long enough. If you remade this video at 3 hours I'd be glued to my screen for the whole thing :) Fantastic mid-week surprise, the day before UK lockdown. Some amazing cars with fascinating histories. Great work as always.
Ha! I'm pleased to report there's an extended preview of this auction going live at 12:45 today. It's 45mins long this time, with 13 extra cars featured!
I could spend an entire day just walking around that hall, taking in all the details of the cars and their history! Failing that, Harry's coverage is a pretty good consolation.

Ha! Yes! I know exactly what you mean! I did some rallying in East Africa (Kenya) many years ago, and also helped prepare cars for the Safari Rally (private entries, not the pro works teams). As well as a massive sump guard, rhino bars, and thick wire cages over the headlights, there were always two Cibies mounted on the roof.
The idea was that if the Safari was a particularly rough and wet one, the cars would be charging through streams, along flooded tracks, and getting bogged down in mud. You had to assume that the regular lights and the extra rack across the top of the bonnet would be either smashed or covered in crud, so the roof lights would remain clean and could be reached through the front side windows and turned by hand to show the road ahead.
They were also effective for helping spot wild animals (giraffes, eland, elephants, and herds of zebra) in the road up ahead because their eyes showed up bright red in the beams.

Another classic and relaxing video for car lovers.
The things Harry walked past were so good that I was shouting for him to stop. The Renault Supersport or that silver E-Type for example. Needed part 2 and 3 to really tap into Harry's memory Banks.
I also recommend going to look at this auction because some of Stirling's items are amazing.

12:45 You could say Fisker sort of went away quietly... Hurricane Sandy wiped out 300 of their cars, though!
Also the fact that many of them instantly went up in flames when the water hit them. Didn't do much for their safety opinions.

That black 928 s4 does it for me. Stunning.
Harry!! Little mistake on your part...The BMW M1 engine ( M88) makes 277 HP. The engine ( also M88) in the M5 and M635CSi makes 286 HP. They have a different fuel injection system and a different ignition system.

@Coby Williams It's just got to expensive rusty project cars for 0000's there is still a stack of old metal out there sat in garages not touched for 30 years but it's just not worth the effort anymore they all think they're worth brusters your right its fxxxxxg annoying.

Not where interest rates are so low. Returns on classics is still way better. Property is possibly more dodgy to forecast.

Hard to pick a favourite. E Type looks fantastic, M1 just stunning, all the 911s 😀 all the M3s but think the red 928 S2 would be the one. Just a great shape, way ahead of it’s time.
I had a huge poster on my bedroom wall which I got sent from Porsche GB after sending them a letter telling them how great the 928 was 😀

The M1 is amazing!
I used to have a 928 s4. God that thing was thirsty but for the age of the car, it was very special indeed. Around the year 2000, you could get them for £6,000 for ok one. Mine was 6,500 and it was perfect all it needed was a new driver's seat, new headliner and a spray job but it was acceptable for more than 2 feet :) so I left it original . Drive it to Germany, south of France and all around euro nothing went wrong at all. I miss that car.
I got the 928 as I couldn't afford a 911 but I wanted to own a Porsche as all you hear are good things :)
That BMW M1 is absolutely flawless. One of my dream cars to get an M1 with the procar kit.
Some beautiful cars amongst the listings, especially the 928S4 sport, the yellow 993, the white 500 sec and that M1.
My only issue is that I don't have enough money to buy ANY of them. 😢😢.

Great video as usual Harry, however you missed that gorgeous Alfa Romeo GTV, 60's I think ( I could be wrong haha ). It was dressed in that evocative and distinctive red that just suits all Alfa's. I think it was just as you started drooling over the rally spec Renualt's. Either way again class viewing Harry and Yes we've all spent the imaginary bank balance with our eyes and hearts, much like yourself I imagine. Oh well. we can only dream

Great video Harry. Sterling Moss was supposed to have been totally laid back and calm when driving race cars unlike other drivers who were frantically fighting with the wheel. And Moss just lead the races by a country mile. Great race driver. I'll have the De Tomaso Harry thanks.
