Is there anything more interesting to a car nut than having Harry take you through a Ferrari exhibit?
any exhibit in fact, I would watch even if he went through potato exhibit
No
i love his farm channel, he has some big machinery
@@kubek555 you're in luck, he does that as a side gig.
That was a fab 25 minutes. Had to ignore the wife 3 times, but well worth it.
build a shed! great comment though
they DO have a pause button,
and you better hope your w i f e will never find out about it.
Not needed info but im glad it was added, gained a laugh 👍😆
The 355 is the most perfect Ferrari ever built for me. Just gorgeous from every angle. Even looks awesome in resale red.
The sound too!
Totally agree, such a beautiful model.
F355 values are only held back by the extra costs of maintenance because of the engine out services
The F355 was always my choice over the F360. Maybe on paper the inferior car, but looks better, sounds better.
Fun fact for you.... I refurbished the wheels on the yellow 575 around 10 years a go when I worked at BMW. I wonder if the leather tool kit and original bill of sale are still in the car. It was amazing opening that up to find Eric Claptons signature.... then Chris Evans’ too!!
I love these videos. So many cars, so many facts and details to learn in such a short time. That 25 minutes went over like nothing. Also, great job on the camera work on such a walkaround. It looks so professional, all camera movements are well thought out and smooth. It's a joy to watch!
Chris Evans didn’t get round to painting that one white then before knackering up Top Gear 😆
I was wondering about that a bit. Is this Chris Evans such a celebrity in the UK? I was just thinking when the name came up, ah, the guy that made Top Gear so annoying. Don't want his car, gonna keep my old shitbox.
100% agree.
@@jan-hendrikbussmann4644 he bought some very rare expensive Ferraris and painted them white ... who knows why?
@@Lifeguruonafence like him or not who cares, its his property and its good to see a bit of individuality.
I've never watched the version of Top Gear with Chris Evans, so I don't know where all the hate comes from. I've watched heaps of his car reviews and he seems to be quite sensible.
I think the auction vids are some of my favourites - Harry's knowledge of every single vehicle is always entertaining!
Can't get over the size difference when you go from the modern era to the Dinos. Love those little things!
Yep all oversize now my audi s1/a1..bigger than my old lancia delta...
@@mrbetamax1969 I have a '93 MR2 and I'm dwarfed by everything on the road today. And my MR2 would dwarf my old X1/9!
Yes its quite alarming and reflects the times we live in .Look at the size of so many people now.Obesity is rife and apparantly a sofa in the UK is now 18 inches wider than 20 years ago to accommodate the larger girths of todays population.A mini or Fiat 500 today are about twice the size of the 60s originals.
@@grimson Yep. Cars are too fat. Just park a 1970s 911 next to a current one. Looks like a toy by comparison.
@@Merlin-lc4zu that’s true. in fairness, it’s also safety regulations today requiring minimum heights for bumpers and headlights, general crash testing, airbags etc are a big reasons cars are bigger
Those first 8 or 9 cars with amazing specifications and they have barely been driven, makes me wonder why you’d bother to buy a high performance car if you aren’t going to bother driving it.
Many see cars as art, just because they don’t drive them doesn’t mean they don’t like them, just like saying why drive a 200mph car on the road when you can’t use it’s performance, why watch a vid on cars that your never going to drive ... you could go on and on 😂
@@rscholey85 Also lots of people with ridiculous amounts of money and many cars, probably many properties all over the world.
Just a bit sad, that most people who would drive them, with a smile from ear to ear, will never be able to afford these amazing cars
Too many people buy cars as investments is why
The logic of servicing a car regularly for 20 years that’s not driven is just nuts to me. Replacing unworn tyres, clean filters being changed, tuning an engine that has not changed from a year ago, I don’t understand it
@@llamamanism Full service history important to protect the value of the asset, whether or not it is ever actually used properly - remember a lot of people buy these cars as investments
The low mileage on these cars is criminal. They should be seen and heard and enjoyed, not hidden away.
They are often one of 5 or 10 cars owned, its not that they aren't used, but there's only so much time lol
The difference between Faza buyers & drivers of cars 👍
Yeah, he actually starts with my favourite car of the auction. Grigio Alloy is such a stunning colour on the 360. And this Crema interior! Beautiful
Not comparing Harry to Jay Leno as I respect them both, but Harry seems reluctant to speak about how a properly maintained, high-mileage supercar is preferable to a museum piece or trailer queen with low miles or kilometers. Mr. Leno on the other hand is very open about the need to drive (and properly maintain) these automotive pieces of art and he does so at every opportunity. Great video as always Mr. Metcalf.
Interesting video would be Harry and Jay having a beer together and talking cars
I thought Harry was talking about comedian Richard Pryor for a second 😂
Yea me too hahah, I was like: "No way!!"
Me too‚ that would have been awesome! 😂
The registration plate font on Richard Prior's Ferrari is a nice detail.
Me too!
Who else?
It's criminal to own a machine like those and then not use them.
Without a doubt my favorite videos on UA-cam. Harry and car auctions, match made in heaven
Great camerawork Tom!
Great work Harry! Loved the detail you went into.
Never seen so much RHD Ferrari's at once, cheers from France. ;) Maybe someday Ratarossa's white 512 BBI there ?
A front engine v12 ferrari for me thanks
Beautiful cars.
A shame Gary Rhodes didn’t take more opportunity to drive his car very often but I’m sure he enjoyed owning and appreciating it by heart and eye all the same.
He drove a black Lotus Esprit as well. Nice guy. RIP
I just love watching Harry walk around Silverstone auctions
Harry, I would really like for you to interview the lovely chap who converts robotized manuals, I believe it will be the future for many of the SMG/F1/Sportshift equipped cars. Manuals are pretty rare, and if you find the right spec but it is equipped with an automated manual transmission it would be nice to know if you can correct that "issue".
Love these auction preview videos
The tan interior in that 348 is the most delicious thing I’ve seen today.
Thank you Harry! and a special thank you to camera man Tom!
Ooh - that 612 Scaglietti is a bargain! They never photographed well, but in the metal I always thought they looked fantastic. So classy, & for less than the price of a Cayman.
Thank you for continuing through those workman, you’re ace, Harry
Dinos and that Daytona, loveliness.
Love these auction videos!!
Love these auction videos
Thank you Harry I love your auction previews. I value your opinion and knowledge, regards from Mexico.
That 206 SP recreation is absolutely lovely. That is my pick. So unusual, and a bargain compared to the other Dinos! (By the way: de Havilland are doing a replica of the 206 SP. Don't know what engine they put in it. That is a fibreglass body. Since the turn-key Dino 246 replica is £35k, I reckon it will be between £45k and £50k. If you want an aluminium replica, there is an Australian comply called Tansley that do one)!
Isn't it sad that these fantastic Ferraris were built to be driven, but spend their lives in a garage doing no miles whats so ever???
And once we are forced to go totally electric will be worthless
@@peterkirton4580
These cars are works of art … value only going up.
Have to agree, what’s the point of a having a beautiful car if you don’t drive it 😔
@@peterkirton4580 they will only keep going up in value just because car makers going electric will still be able to use fuel cars just won’t be able to purchase new
@@dazzerj156 at first…
An ex-Elton John Daytona from the 70s... You'll need to put your vacuum cleaner into rehab after hoovering in all the little crevices...
Same deal with Claptons Ferraris...
That Henry hoover will have a big grin
@@Sokman00. I'm pretty sure John's and Clapton's substances of choice went into different places. Elton's into his nose, and Eric's into an arm so there was no wastage.
Hi Harry, some fantastic examples there hey!
Superb, thanks Harry
Be still, my beating heart but, oh my Lord that Bronze coloured Dino!!! What an absolutely stunning piece of machinery! I remember seeing one in Vancouver as a little kid and have been enthralled by the 246's as well as the DeTomaso Pantera's from the same period. I was a curious 7 year old in 1973-4 and have always been in love with cars, my Dad had an early 60's Triumph TR-3a and I remember going to A & W car nights with him in Edmonton with that car. I know I simply couldn't afford this Dino and have it shipped to Alberta, but if I ever win a large enough Lottery it will find a special place in my custom built garage and shop! lol
Wow i really like that 360 spider, really nice colour. And that bronze Dino is breathtaking to look at!
I love the 355. It sounds incredible!
Absolutely love these videos, he's so knowledgeable.
Fantastic reviews thank you
The Testarossa with the seatbelt, I believe in 88/89, it started where the manufacturer had a choice, either airbag, or that seatbelt. Then in 93/94, you HAD TO have an airbag. And yes, the wheels came chrome from factory if you spec’d them like that
Best half hour I have spent all week Mr. two brains :)
Those 355’s are priced well. Love these silverstone auction videos 👍
Love your shows Harry. Learn a lot. from Canada .
Getting some 1990's Japanese sportscar vibes from the 575 front half, mainly GTO/GT3000. 206 SP is a great example of matching yellow with red successfully. Incredible Daytona curves. 512BB is the way you do two-tone in my book. Like a trip to an arts and design museum this was, thank you.
@5:03 Clapton! The solo on Crossroads is still EPIC!
"Bumper Guards" on the American Market Testarossa....A.K.A. "Lawsuit Cushions" in America..
I like the way the American auto regulators are so concerned about car safety, yet just about anyone can buy a semi automatic rifles.
No different to the European countries that are doing the same thing whilst having massive per capita gun ownership (yes, they exist).
Most American gun crime is committed with illegally obtained guns, not legal. There's also another taboo aspect to it but I won't go into that here.
Daytona...*wibble, also a fan of the 612.
Cracking content as ever!
Cheers.
Very Nice Sale preview ,Thanks Harry .-))👍👍👍👍 I like the white Testarossa:-)) it reminds me of the Miami Vice movie .-)) you like to be a Crockett take the white one 😉😉😉
Every single one of these cars will make over guide - IMHO. The grey 599 is my pick.
Really nice Dino, we have a sunbeam alpine S2 that was also owned by the sultan of Pahang
Harry and Chris should get together and geek out at one of these auction previews.
Some amazing Ferrari's here.
hello, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind thank you.
Great, thanks, Harry!
22:09 And there you go, my absolute dream car!
Sadly in Brazil they cost the same and a brand new 911 GT3...
Agree. Would prefer a GTS though. Mind you, not the one to race / hill climb!
That MR2 thing? Takes all sorts.
@@stephen300o6 What MR2 thing? You mean the pedigree F355 with track history? Like a proper Ferrari? I didn't see any 'MR2 thing!' There were 3 versions of the F355. The GTB, GTS and spider. You would not race a GTS as it is not as rigid, and, I expect, weighs more. The GTS is the one I would have as a road car.
@@stephen300o6 Are you talking about the comment below? About the de Havilland 206 SP replica? No, not an MR2. That is John Hurst who used to make a proper replica, which was bought by de Havilland. That is the 206 GT replica. Still a nice car. Best see their website.
Best Car Vlog... thanks Harry.
Wow beautiful cars.
i love Harry at these auctions, absolutely in his element
Pretty sure I will have seen that 355 going up Harewood Hillclimb in the past, always enjoyed the Ferrari round!
My god that gold Dino is stupendous
Probably the nicest Ferrari I’ve ever seen. Period.
Almost bought a Dino in 1993, but the £20,000 asking price was a bit much 🙄
I considered one in 1974 at £3000! 😫
I used to drool over the F355 when I was a child and watching this now I'm drooling once again! Absolutely beautiful Ferraris.
I remember the Autocar cover story of their first road test - in fly yellow, I think - and the absolute rave reviews it earned after the underwhelming 348
That bronze Dino ❤️
599GTO is such a beautiful car
Love your videos great to watch
hello Charles, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind thank you.
@@allysonhanks9159 doing great thank you.
@@Chuck88vert hello thank you for writing back Charles nice to meet you.
The black 355 with carbon seats is lovely indeed.
Love that 599 at 4.40mins
I've done more miles in my 140i in the 4 weeks I've had it than that red F430 has ever done. Madness.
Great video, I would take the 355 or Testarossa all day long, never driven either of them but purely on aesthetics.
Another great video! Regarding the right hand Dino listed for more than the left... I thought left hand drive cars usually fetched more as there is a greater market for them?
I'm drooling!
Looking forward to the Ferrari Drivers Day.
God I love the 612, proper GT without the the 599 aggression.
Wow some absolutely gorgeous looking cars there I always love the front engine v12 grand touring Ferraris the best
Never change Harry!
I still think 355 to 360 was the most radical change in design language. I'll admit I'm beginning, slowly, to warm to the 360.
I admit I bought a 360 because it was the one I could afford but it has brought me great joy.
I love it ever since, I think it's a better Design than the 430, the proportions look so much better and the wheels are the right size, while the 430 Wheels always look to small, obviously cause the car got bigger.
Jesus, that 206 SP is just a dream!!!
Add a manual gearbox on any of these cars and raise the asking 50 to 100K. Shows how rare the manuals are.
18:25 .... the 512 BB is such a dream car from my youth (only beaten by the Countach in these times)!
Same here
I remember it in top trumps, I (as a 12 year old) was amazed how a ' plain looking' car could perform so well, I thought a super car needed all the wings and vents that Lamborghini show cased
The 206 SP recreation seems like a perfect folly for a Ferrari collector, to use and show at ' cars and coffee' type events, hell even tow it to a show behind your FF😀
Hi Harry, you said you don't like the 599 Manual. i've just converted my F1 car to manual using genuine parts, few ecu tweaks etc for rev matching... Fancy giving it a spin on your channel? See if it changes your mind?
8:08 this car was also owned by Chris Evans (halves in value)
Harry, what would be your pick from the sale? Would be cool to know in future videos.
That 360 Spider is the most beautiful car ever.
That yellow F430 🤯
Harry, please do a test drive of the 355 GTB manual. :-)
Some truly great Ferrari's there. If I could I'd get the red left hand drive Dino (I'm in the US).
Did he just pronounce Peter as PEHTER? XD hahahahahahaha
That rear grille is a challenge one
Does anyone know... the GT40 kitter from the last episode... did Sam Hard buy it?
Keep doing this. Keeps my dreams alive..Work hard to afford a toy to play hard with...
That Dino 206 sp. Front end very reminiscent of an Alfa Tipo 33 Stradale.......which is no bad thing👍
Back in the day, they couldn't give Dino's away. I remember our Alfa Romeo dealer had one in the showroom for 25.000 or something like that.
hello, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind thank you.
Great video as always. I am quite sure thta the grille you talk about on the F355 is actually a Challenge grille, not standard on the F1, so you can buy it for an F1 or manual. Nonetheless, I alway thought it looked really great with this option.
It also was never called the F355 GTB. Just Berlinetta.
Love to get my hands on an ‘EC’ owned Ferrari...
I want the 206SP!
My favourite Harry and the Ferrari!
F355 still the best looking Ferrari ever and that red one is properly cool.
Wow. I've gone to heaven......
Thanks again Harry, I really don't envy your job, no really I don't!
