Great info and presentation! Most of the handyman trailer hub installation videos are only about installing and nothing about spindles and part sizes which is very important!

hi, i was looking for some hubs with holes instead of lugs but can't find any on your website?

Is spindle length important? are they all the same size? if not, do you measure including the threads or just base to start of threads. I have the 1.0625" diam straight spindle.

You failed to mention matching the correct hub width for the length of your spindle. Many small older trailers have a short length 1 inch dia. spindle.

I have a Carry-on trailer with a really messed up hub; finally cut bolt/nut off and looking for the correct hub for this axle. Manufacturer says 1 and 1/16 inch. I cant seem to slip the bearings through. The axle is a tapered spindle. Since my old wheel bearing was disintegrated, I can only find info from the manufacturer. Still researching... any thoughts and comments are appreciated.

I can see how this determines bearing size, but how would you determine hub size?

Many are buying the redy to go Hub with bearings for the tapered 1 1/16 and 1 3/8" bearing sets only to find the hub is too long and the bearing locations don't match up on the inside of the hub. It's probably a good idea to go with OEM from the trailer manufacturer.

Where are these charts on your website? Having no luck finding them on there.

Hi Barry - Thanks for reaching out to West Marine! Unfortunately, these charts are not on our website. They were on the Tie Down website but Tie Down no longer makes trailer hubs. We can provide a chart that helps you out if you contact our Product Advice team at productadvice@westmarine.com!

Watched the video. was interested...went to the website and not a single thing there about hubs. even looked through the OEM trailer book and nothing in there bout hubs or axles. a pretty worthless video if you talk about stuff on your site that isn't there.
