Decided to start my reaction videos once again after 3 long years so my apologies for the long intro and long video overall. Hope you guys enjoy my 2 cents and if you enjoy this content please like, comment and subscribe. I will be uploading videos weekly so make sure you hit that bell icon and check my channel for reactions, covers and original songs.
Comment below any song or album suggestion you guys would like me to check out and I will do my best to get to it in a timely manner. I'd love to hear more progressive rock/metal, classic rock, rap, blues, jazz, world/foreign music (I am Brazilian and speak Portuguese and Spanish). I also love live performances.

Every Tool song creates an arena of sound for sure. Some paper will show you exactly what they are building, and it's some stuff.
Also, I think you were closer with Right in Two. The part where the breakdown begins and the guitar breaks free from the rest of the band is very similar in those two.
I think after this song, you will go back and listen to Adam in a different way. He is masterful at his craft and controls everything.

Love your thoughts and I'm the same in that I love tool but have always had to have a few listens before I really got into a track and liked it. Now I have heard them all thousands of times but hear new things through other reactions or points of view.
An old school band which get little to no love but is a gem of a 90s rock band (even though they are still playing now) are therapy? I would love to see a reaction on either a couple of their short songs, 'die laughing' or 'screamager' or longer songs like 'me vs you' or 'a moment of clarity'

Great breakdown, the music is up in ur face and Maynard slips in the cracks to fill it all in, fill in the brick wall as u said. All music is written first and given to Maynard and then he crafts the lyrics to the instrumental to form the final product. Keep it up bro, ur great at this

    • @samuraikaito
      @samuraikaito  2 роки тому

Great anology! He finds a little tiny pocket in a massive wall of sound, it's mindblowing. I really dig his approach within this band, whereas he doesn't want to be "seen" as the frontman and instead wants the other musicians to get most of the shine.

I loved your explanation of Adam’s place in the sound. It really is like the atmospheric part that rounds out the rest of it. He’s their Ray Manzarek in a sense that you hear him, you immediately know it’s TOOL, just like You hear Ray’s keys and you know instantly know it’s the Doors.

Certainly complex. However, TOOL is very organic about it imo. Whereas some prog can be borderline obnoxious just for the sake of complexity. Often times that ruins it for me. I've never heard a TOOL song that sounds that way, which is why they're at the top for me. I'd really appreciate the sub! I'll be uploading several videos per week. Sadly, I have a full time job and I do all the recording, editing myself along with my personal music endeavors so I will keep a balance between all. Thank you for your support either way!

The only current bands that come close to TOOL I think are Radiohead (which leave you speechless live, but for my taste they are a bit "slow" in the albums) and Opeth (complex and perfect in the execution, which however I have never seen live and for my taste they are a bit hard)

      @samuraikaito  2 роки тому +1

Mannnn you know what... I've tried soooo many times to get into Radiohead. Kid A, OK Computer and even another album I think. It never resonated with me for some reason. Maybe I'm not listening at the right time lol idk. I have a similar sentiment about Opeth, heard a couple songs and they are a bit too heavy for what I usually enjoy. Always willing to give it another go though. Maybe they have some less intense songs? If I recall correctly, the songs I'd heard were very death-metal, which is not my kind of thing.

    • @floridabelle

      @@samuraikaito I can't get into Radiohead either.
However, Opeth's last 4 albums are clean vocals & magnificent and now PROGRESSIVE ROCK! In Cauda Venenum (English version), and Sorceress, Pale Communion & Heritage are the album names. They're on my daily playlist. There isn't a bad track on either album IMO. Maybe you'll give them a try sometime. All 'Things Will Pass' might be a good one to start with.
How one band can make such epic music every single time is astounding.
I'm so happy I didn't give up on them when I heard them for the first time via a reaction video and there was growling. I turned it off real fast.
But now, 6 to 8 months later and a lot of listening to clear vocal albums first, I can finally say, ALL of their work/albums are in my playlist. And I still can't get enough... UA-cam interviews, Mickael's concert banter, full concert videos, you name it and I'm there. 😁

I really hope this doesn't fall on blond eyes, but I heard that you were open to all types of music? Before I get too deep into it, how would you feel about reacting to Dubstep/Electronic music? I know, I know, I've been told every excuse in the book from other reactors that purposely reject dubstep or simply see my comment, like it, then proceed to continue with what they're doing. I'm sure by now that you have tons of requests already lined up, but if you're up for a brand new experience to a genre with guidance, I'll be more than willing to subscribe to you and mention any version of dubstep you can imagine. Understandably, I'm not going to really get any support from others as they would be just as new to everything as you would be, but I just want to see what 1 song in the genre could do for people with your type of background.

    • @Noah_Tindell

How did I end up here? Well, I love Tool, I love watching reaction videos to music I like as I basically get to listen to it for the first time all over again, you showed up on my recommended list and I enjoyed your reaction specifically. Not to mention the ones that react to dubstep either don't post much at all or they've listened to everything already. I don't want to take over your channel or even say that my request should be fulfilled first, I simply ask for an opportunity.

I really liked your comment, Noah. You seem really humble and that's a trait I look for in others. I will be honest, I've never enjoyed much electronic music. Got a few friends that are into it and they've showed me some songs, unfortunately I haven't heard something that I would see myself listening to aside from a party or something. But I am always willing to give it a shot! Did a black metal reaction which is way outside of my comfort zone & didn't enjoy it much but I liked the experience of hearing something new. Feel free to comment a song or two & I will try to get to it as soon as possible! Thank you for the support.

@@samuraikaito Oh wow, thanks a lot! Well, if you're up to try it again, allow me to categorize your options based on how fast paced and chaotic it can get. Scaled 1-10 (1 being calm and easy to follow while still being dubstep, 10 being highest energy music you'll hear in your life), here are some suggestions you can pick and choose later, and I'll even provide a bit of detail with each pick. A lot of my favorites aren't even on this list, that's how widespread I'm trying to make these suggestions:
      1 - Space Laces - D.A.W.
While this will never be considered a calm song if you take it out of the genre, I believe this is a very easy song for a beginner to get into (headphone warning at the beginning) and also I love Space Laces, this is not his style typically but he does a really good job here.
2 - Apashe - Behind My Eyes (ft. LIA)
Apashe literally creates supervillain music using nothing but dubstep sounds and an orchestra, but that's not what this is. I gave you something with lyrics here as there's a lot more songs without lyrics in the genre and that turns many away from listening to it.
3 - MONXX (ft. P Money) - World of Wonk
Monxx has been one of my favorite artists for the last 5 years with his style. He understands his style is wonky and embraces it, and that mentality got some of my friends who don't even like music to enjoy his songs (headphone warning at the beginning). I changed the song last second from TUNNEL to this one because I realized that there wasn't going to be many songs after this one that had song lyrics, but I'm fine if you listen to either one.
4 - Funtcase ft. Merky Ace - 4 Barz of Fury
This one wants to be so many different genres at once, yet Funtcase (real name Max) makes it very smooth (headphone warning at the beginning).
      5 - Excision & Dion Timmer - Necromancer
This is where we reach danger zone levels beyond this point for a typical music listener (headphone warning at the beginning). I'll be really curious to see if you pick anything below this point. Excision is one of the originals of the genre, helping it grow BEFORE Skrillex was widely known. And Dion Timmer is like his personal apprentice since 2014 when Dion would've been a young teen.
      6 - OG Nixin - Problem Solver
I had to include the Samurai Bass master for Samurai Kaito lol. This one could be higher, but I decided to put it here as there was more time to settle down and reflect with a good piano melody in this one than in the ones below it.
      7 - Spag Heddy - DOJO
One word comes to mind when I think of Spag Heddy: Fun. And with this song he will take the same rhythm and change it into like 5 different sounding drops in under 4 minutes.
8 - Dr. Ozi - Play It Back Again
Dr. Ozi is one of the most creative artists in the genre, and as you listen to his songs, they get more and more intense as they continue (similar to Tool), and this one is a prime example of that, only this song already started out intense. 😳
      9 - MARAUDA & YAKZ - PULVERIZE
One of, if not, my favorite mosh pit songs! I had to throw something like this on the list and it's very fun to just throw your body around like a ragdoll while you listen to it.
      10 - Nitepunk - Absolute Zero
This song is the ultimate car chase song. Fast paced, intense, you hardly know when the drop ends and when it begins again and it's like this the entire time! It's got the most unique drop to it on top of that as well, it keeps the drum pattern from the build up and rolls with it which in my 7 years of being in the genre I've never heard of before or since!
