2:29 50 years old and that clean high voice, for me, Ronnie is the best metal vocalist ever, what a personality his voice had, there are thousands of Dickinson type voice, but like Ronnie nobody. Better than Freddie Mercury for me.
Dio lost a bit of clarity and range in his 60s, but still had a large range for his age and if anything was still learning to do more with his voice right into his last tour. I agree though, he us great on here.
I thought it was me who commented this for a second lmao, because for me, Mr. Ronnie James Dio Padavona is the greatest as well AND that point you made about so many singers sounding alike is something i have been saying ever since I first heard this man. 👌🏻
Geezer Butler's bass lines on Heaven and Hell are so outrageously awesome. Bill Ward is just powerful and Iomi is iconic. Their music jumped to another level with Dio.
@@fannys941 not on this live version but he is on the original studio version and that's what I'm referring to. If you read my statement again I said "Heaven and Hell".
That's debatable. Love Ronnie, but this lineup would not exist without Ozzy. It has been said that Dio dominated every band he was a part of, so in this case, Sabbath sounds more like Dio than Sabbath. Great lineup? Yes, the best? A matter of opinion. Either way, rock on!
@@MrCowboyMouse yea....imagine no sabbath with ozzy.....it's just a silly thought.....you can't have one without the other......this sabbath wouldn't even exist

Bill Ward was one of the most underrated drummers ever. Geezer was an incredible bassist and even more incredible as a songwriter! This is like the greatest lineup in metal history!
I first heard Children of the Sea in 1981.The dj played Starrider by Foreigner and blended Children of the Sea into the ending perfectly.Amazingly ,I STILL have the recording I made! One of my favorites!
Dio was great, powerful voice from a little guy, matching the intensity of Tony and Geezer's fierce music, the drummer was filled with power too. This version of Black Sabbath was very much in intensity like Beethoven and Wagner, crushing this song totally. Slava tebe BOZSHE ☦️🇷🇺🌍🙏📿 Amin. All the World is Russky Mir ☦️🇷🇺🌍🙏 Amin.
the bass is everything, Geezer's a genius.
RIP the great heavy metal vocalist.

What about Chris Cornell Pencilneck? Think before you write. Weakling!
Mercury has quite a different voice, more operatic, not comparable. Dio's voice is the just the ultimate voice for metal music.

@@westernsellers9148 That is the almighty Vinny Appice!
This version of Children of the sea is excellent!
one of the best.rrjd inserts variations and digressions to the refrain.

A very touching number and a great performance! The powerful rhythm section and Dio’s and Iommi‘s unique quality: outstanding!
I was there in Reggio Emilia ! Same greate emotions now as before! Still miss this band❤
Best version of this song I have ever heard. RIP Dio
This was the first song Ronnie and Tony wrote together. This was the song that showed them both that they'd caught lightning in a bottle.
The best Sabbath lineup by far!
100%
