And one day I was like 11 years old my father (God bless his soul) gave me a tape and the cover was ( Pink Floyd. The Wall ). After listening to this album I knew I'm not the same kid. Told my father I will never ask for anything but just I need more music like this for my holiday. And then he used to take me and drive to another city like 80km every month to buy 5 albums I choose. And the store owner used to give me one more as a gift. What a memories. discovering metal and blues and rock was amazing. Now I'm a drummer for about 27 years

I remember seeing Dio, Iron Maiden, Queensryche opening for Ozzy and a month later Queensryche opened for Metallica, all this in one summer. I live in Mobile, Alabama so acts would come to Pensacola, Fl., Biloxi, Ms, Atlanta and New Orleans and I could catch many shows 2 or 3 times. The early to mid 80's were the best time to be young enough to enjoy the hell out of it but old enough to drive where ever they were playing. I wouldn't give that up to have seen Woodstock. Oh, I almost forgot about Anthrax and AC/DC just after that summer near my b'day in Sept. Great b'day present that was.

Last time we, Melissa and I seen Dio, we road to Baltimore Civic Center, think it was 1989, in a 73' Ford Maverick. The stage had the drums & keyboards on towers of Stone, the drums being say high as 16 ft.And from behind, arose a huge dragon with wings one end to the other of the stage. Eyes shot lazors from them at Dio doing barrel rolls cross stage to be missed. Was awsome show to attend. When we went back to the car someone had stolen our battery. So I had to swipe another hooked it up with two O-clams and a Strip of aluminum on the 1 wire they snipped. Dam if it didn't work, but my Girl that night was super pissed I did steal another battery. You can release yourself
But the only way is down
We don't come alone
We are fire, we are stone
We're the hand that writes
Then quickly moves away
We'll know for the first time
If we're evil or divine
We're the last in line, yeah
We're the last in line
Two eyes from the east
It's the angel or the beast
And the answer lies
Between the good and bad
We search for the truth
We could die upon the tooth
But the thrill of just the chase
Is worth the pain
We'll know for the first time
If we're evil or divine
We're the last in line, yeah

Oh well, still good...just hard to head bang to Slayer by proxy that you can talk over. ha ha.
@@paulj0557tonehead Rowan Roberts and Traci G were the other 2 before Doug. De Martini never toured with Ronnie as far as I know

Saw Dio twice on LIL tour, once on Sacred Heart (all with Campbell) at big arenas, and then later on Lock Up The Wolves at a small killer theater with Roberts and Simon Wright on drums, and they were pretty damn good too. He always had top notch musicians onboard.
Да ЗДРАВСТВУЕТ РОННИ ДЖЕЙМС ДИО!!!
I was there front row right in front of Craig for this show. It was amazing!
Альбом 84 года.. The last ln line.. Dio красавчик!!! Помню был это альбом.. Кстати записанный на akai 77.. Качество обалдеть..
Golden age of metal with real singers with musical talent of the highest caliber! Dio!
I miss you so much Ronnie, you were kind and such a great man. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. I'll always love you and I'll never forget your kindness. Tears to this day, you were such a beautiful and humble soul.
Just a Fantastic voice.... Eternal Dio
He was the last from the Golden days of metal whom left us..
SoloRide ZX what about Rob Halford he is still alive
He was the last in line
I was only lucky enuff to see DIO or any form of DIO 3 times. 2 of his shows he sang, "The Last In Line."
Each show when he sang out - "We are coming - - - - HOME."
OMG, the rafters shook, everybody in attendance knows that part and they all sang out - HOME !!!!!!
Better than 20k people all in sync with DIO, shared his experience and ROCKED the house!!!!!
El mejor de los mejores. Dio con mayúsculas en la historia de la música.
I caught one of his last show of his life. I got some very memorable pictures unfortunately I lost them all when my home was foreclosed on and I became homeless. Ronnie lives for ever in the hearts of everyone who loved him and gives strength to his fans whom still love his work.
This is the tour when I saw Dio the first time at Pabellón La Casilla in Bilbao (Euskadi,Spain).Great Memories !!! Salud y Vida Pa'lante !!! Cheers and Life On !!!
Unas de las mejores alineaciones del heavy metal
Everything about this man was epic. His lyrics, his music, his vocals and his powerful spirit. Dude enhanced my life, that's for damn sure. Rest in peace, Ronnie!!
vergedrums I couldn’t say it better myself! Ronnie was a true game-changer in metal. His work ethic made everything he did so much better. It’s astounding to me that there are some that actually think Ozzy was a better vocalist than Dio! Ronnie was the man, and there is NO comparison! 🤟😎🤟
@@zefolantar The thing I really love about Dio is the inspiring nature of his lyrics. They got me through some VERY dark times in my life, and that will always mean a lot to me.
Damn, it's literally making me tear up just thinking about it; and THAT is worth its weight in gold right there! That's what music should be about!!
Too bad the pussy whipped bastard stuck it to his band members.
Shut the hell up Flippin
Amazing ! I can only imagine going to a DIO concert in the 80's i was only 11 yrs old in 1986 , but what a voice he had, damn !
One of the best vocals in rock music ever

Sadly missed but will never ever be forgotten rip 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Greg Goldie was one of the best to play in this band!
Know what? That babe married me not long after, and been together to this day.Tunded out to be a show for the ages. Thank you Ronnie. God & you blessed me that night for life. R.I.P. Brohand.
you went to a concert in 1983 in a 73 Maverick??????Wow,, sweet love story....rock on bra.........
Craig Goldy stepped up to the plate, and proved he belonged with the Big Boys on that stage. I love you Craig Goldy 👍❤❤❤❤

You have to admit, this man had a GREAT voice...!
Not that I’ve ever been a huge Dio fan, but this is some amazing live footage! Last in Line is a cool tune! And this is back when live concerts were freaking bad ass!
While I wasn't able to catch him in the 80's, I was able to watch him open open up for Iron Maiden back in 2003. It was Motörhead, Dio, Maiden...what a bill that was!
DUUDE!
Yes! My second concert ever 😍 August 13th 2003 Smirnoff centre Dallas
@@fv1005 Nice!!! Interestingly, my first ever concert was Iron Maiden at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin-but close to Chicago in August 1983! Interestingly, ex-Motöhead "Fast" Eddie Clark's band, Fastway opened up!
First time I saw him was with Sabbath in 1980. The last time was his last tour with Heaven&Hell. I saw that tour with Maiden and Motorhead. Jacobin777 is right. Awesome show!
@@Tikki-cy1wk I was a bit too young to see them in 1980 but I've seen some videos of that tour and you are one LUCKY person!

So proud I've seen this live (not this show, but the tour). Was my first metal concert..... And WHAT a first!
La gran voz del metal!
It’s kinda crazy now that I’m in my late 40s and watch this amazing footage I don’t understand why I wasn’t a bigger fan of DIO in my younger years! This shit is epic! I guess I was too hung up on the mainstream hair bands at the time! Just watching this bad ass concert footage makes me so freaking wish I woulda caught a Dio concert back in the day! Thank the powers to be for UA-cam!🤘🏻
I liked some Dio back in da day but his quality of players, sound, and voice are top notch.
Sorry to say, that you don't what you missed
Hey Chad wanna blow your mind? Look up Ronnie Dio and The Prophets and The Red Caps.
Because you
Were a Fool. Why else.? ITS OBVIOUS BABOSO.. NO EXCUSES..... FUCK YOU... POSER...
David Trevino Well we all know who the fool is with that looser comment! It’s OK, go back in your parents basement and shut the F up! It’s comical when clowns like you try to act cool acting like a TOOL!
Perfect live performance! What a voice!!
The one n' only metal God lead vocalist
Saw this tour in Providence RI, as we were stationed at Ft Devens, MA. I believe Accept opened. Dio was definitely into the theatrical stages, and put on amazing live shows!
When I saw Dio I was so close to the stage and was giving Ronnie the horns sign and he just smiled at me. It was great! What a performer!
This is the Best Live Dio Concert Ever!!!.,I will always Love You My Dio!!!!.,You will Forever be My God!!!.,R.I.P. my Angel. 😍💖🤘💖😍
Absolut perfect.
Every time I saw Dio, I ended the night drained and recharged at the same time.
And try to comprehend live and this voice??? Best male rock vocalist ever, only other is Paul Rodgers from bad company.
THE LESS THAT YOU GIVE
THE MORE YOU'RE A TAKER !!! RONNIE JAMES DIO 🤘🤘🤘
Wise words.
