unbelievable. In less then a year he was gone. By this time, we were kinda taking that his vocals were great, for granted. Great, doomy album with fantastic vocals and lyrics. I can't believe he did that album and the tour, sick and in pain. But he refused to see a doctor until the tour was done. Hardest part for me to grasp. Frickin huge sound. Awesome. I'm a a guitar player and not impressed with much. However,, I saw Sabbath with Ronnie when I was 16. It was mind blowing. The sound /power was ridiculous and Ronnie was bad ass.
This is hands down the best performance of this song ever, and this has always been a fantastic song. They are so in sync, and so on point with their musicianship, and Dio is just on fire.
Ronnie James Dio wrote the lyrics. In 2006, he said about his lyrics, "You know, 'Children Of The Sea' was really more about the ecological situation and how we're trying to run before we can walk, and this is what we're doing to the planet, and that we're not thinking about what we're doing." (Interview by Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles)
