Just did Diamond Valley Lake in California with the Long Range Battery. Total distance is 22 miles. The battery literally died (display turned off as well) during my final descent into the parking lot. The terrain is a mixture of some paved, but mostly bumpy trails with minor elevation changes. I was pedaling fairly hard on PAS 3 for approximately 90% of the time, but did turn it up to PAS 5 (going across dams with asphalt) while pedaling at 28 mi/hour the other 10% of the time. I weigh 200 lb with my backpack on. I'm disappointed in the range. The strange thing is that I still had 2 battery bars remaining on the display when the battery died. Thank you for the test; however, I think the best way to test is the way I did due to heat generation by the battery. The way you tested is not continuous.

    Hey Chris,
    As always nice review!
It’s easy to add a second battery with the ElectricAllWheel $45. dual battery kit. It includes all needed parts except second battery and they have a good installation video. I did my Lectric 2.0 ST in about an hour and now have 24Ah total using 14Ah internal extended battery plus a 10Ah second battery.
My Hailong 48V 10Ah battery fits nicely between seat tube and rear fender and cost was about $200.
By adding a 10Ah second battery you can easily double the stock 10Ah battery range and adding larger batteries is obviously possible.
This is not a commercial endorsement, nor do I get compensation for plugging their product. I just think they’ve made the dual battery upgrade easy for the average rider.
    Thanks!

I got 60 miles on my long range battery using PAS 2. I live in a very flat area, tires were at 33 psi and I'm 6'3" 225#. It was also over 100 degrees. Voltage was 43.something when I called it quits. Could have easily gone more miles.

I only got 22 miles with the long range at 90% of the distance PAS 3 and the other 10% distance at PAS 5 (28 mi/hr). I think the use of PAS 5 severely diminishes the range. I'm 200 lb with my pack on. Terrain was a mixture of asphalt and rocky trails. No severe hills. Temp was ~80 F. I'm disappointed in the range from the "Long Range Battery". Sounds like it is working for you.

Chris I ordered 2 of the XP2.0 and will be getting them today. No we live in Southern New England
and have a lot of hills. I went with Lectric primarily do to the company. I like the fact that the
company is a real brick and mortar. Not just a lot of folks in an office taking orders. I didn’t
buy the E Bikes ( bought 2 ) for just to use the bikes without peddling. But I really enjoyed
an honest review on how far you could go with the Long Range battery. And yes Ordered both
    that way. Thanks again..

It's clear that these bikes were not designed to be used with throttle only. Other brands do much better in that department. This is simply pedal assist with the throttle being useful on certain occasions when you need a short burst of quick speed.

@ Pedro Fernandez: _"It's clear that these bikes were not designed to be used with throttle only."_
Agree. The pedal assist performance of the XP 3.0 is pretty good. But the throttle-only performance is disappointing. The acceleration in throttle-only mode is leisurely, and the top speed is significantly less than advertised. Typically around 18 mph; sometimes less. 😕

It should be against the law to call a 14Ah battery long range. Lectric for starters needs a 750 motor, a more powerful controller... the 14Ah battery should be standard on their xp for 1k ... 80Nm of torque instead of 55Nm. Hydraulic brakes... theres many better options out there for 1k.

One thing I really dislike about the XP, is that peddling feels more like drifting. I honestly almost always use full throttle because I don't get up to speed like on a normal nice street bike. Funny, you can easily hit 20MPH but I'm getting 24 on full throttle with petting that's only 4 MPH more. That and these bikes are really heavy, you are going to need a pump and sealant If you go long rang in case of flats.
