The Lectric XP 3.0 is Lectric Bikes’ update to their super-popular XP 2.0. Building on the brand’s reputation for providing a good-quality e-bike for around $1000, the XP 3.0 leaves few specs from the XP 2.0 unimproved.
Lectric's XP 3.0 features a motor with more torque, a battery with greater capacity, a drivetrain with more high end, brakes with more power, a rear rack that is strong enough to support a child, a suspension fork with more travel, the inclusion of a suspension seatpost and even a new saddle.
The XP 3.0 is, in short, an e-bike that is more comfortable, easier to control, climbs hills better, stops faster and goes farther. The overhaul is so complete the only real question is how the XP 3.0 can sell for the same price as the XP 2.0. The answer to that question is volume.
Our in-depth review details the many changes that have taken a terrific e-bike-the XP 2.0-and given it enough upgrades to make the XP 3.0 an e-bike that’s easy to recommend.

E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡🚴 Are there any other e-bikes you feel can match the features of the XP 3.0 for the price? If so, which ones? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
The heybikes mars has a longer range than even the extended range lectric 3.0 but less wattage
ANY bike with a BaFang mid-drive and a 1000Wh battery is going to be far better in every way but one... the lame Lectric folds, the most worthless and unused ability on an ebike. It's still heavy and impossible to lug in and out of a car but it folds. It's not hard to beat every feature when they are all the lowest quality components made. Low-end ebikes are all designed and built to be sold to the gullible rather than being designed to be a worthwhile investment.

@@brianbassett4379 lectric is the best selling ebike, its because it folds so we can put it in the trunk. Its not even 70lbs not much different than a bag of salt for the water softener so easy to lift unless you are a child. Most people continue to buy newer versions or multiples because they loved their "Junk" so much. At most you might have to replace some grips or upgrade a seatpost. ALso bafang middrive is great if you want to workout, but not good for casual riders who dont want to pedal a torque sensor since they are not made to do throttle only, lectric has a premium model with the bafang middrive for those who want that.
@@emigs8712I’m wanting to buy two of the 3.0 but not with the newest controller
I am a bicycle expert, raced professionally, don't own a car, travel 10,000 miles a year using bicycles, walking, kayaks.. Been watching Ebike market for over 7 years now, it has been extremely disappointing with lower priced junk and inexcusable high pricing from big bike companies. RAD bikes commuter was okay, and I was just about ready to buy one, but they stopped making them; I did not like the RAD rear rack, or the 26 inch wheel with weak spokes. The advantage of the 20inch fat wheel is strength. The other advantage is higher wheel speed so motor burn-out is less possible. The little 20inch wheels will be rotating at about a 35% higher speed than a 29inch wheel. Wheels are the weakest part of a bicycle but add Epower to a bike and the wheels become a short lived always broken component. I need a work bike for carrying groceries, and store items, and my business equipment. The welded on high-capacity rack on the XP3 was the final selling point and I bought one. I like the way Lectric Bike Company has focused on this folding 20inch market, and how they continue to fine tune these bikes. I am concerned about the 3inch wide tires that must be supported by Lectric because there are very few tire companies making this size, but I think they can be replaced with a narrow rim making a 20x2inch tire very easy to get. My hope is Lectric continues on this focused market instead of expanding out into different bikes. This will keep the price low and they should sell a million of them while the other 500 Ebike companies go out of business. This Ebike market is all going to shake out and most are going out of business eventually. My friends from church have $3000.00 in Ebikes sitting in their garage and they can't get parts for them, the company is out of business and now the bikes just sit and can't be used. I can't afford that!!! So go Lectric!!!
Mr. Beast just gave a huge plug to Lectric Ebikes so its safe to say- you're investment with Letric will turn out to be worth it!
I absotely love this Bike. The customer service is phenomenal
Glad you're enjoying it!
I took my bike out for the first time a few weeks ago. CRASH I went off the blacktop and hit a tree. OUCH no broken bones. Had a few X-rays ct scan. Still sore but I’m a little nervous getting back on. I definitely have to practice. I have since gotten a standard post for the seat as my feet were not flat on the ground. Wish me luck as going out again this Friday
Absolutely love our XP 3.0, gives is some much flexibility. We have gone over 50 miles in the chilly Michigan weather. The only complaint I have have is no manual with the bike, it is available online and when I called they shipped 2 out free of charge! Great customer service!
Great to hear!
My folding 3.0 XP arrives tomorrow! I cannot wait!

How do you like it. I have 2 in my cart just can't quite push the buy button yet.
@@victoryrider I absolutely love it!!
It is exactly what Lectric tells you you're buying.
And if you have an issue with their products? They have no issue at all, with getting back to you.
Rather quickly I might add.
Depending on your choice, I would order an extra battery just so you have an extra tank of fuel so to speak.
If I could show you a picture of my XP 3.0 standard? You would shit!
So yes. Go buy it. but there's many other options out there so it's up to you.
But for what you're going to get for the price? You'll be happy! And that's what you want to hear and so did I!
The quality of their product and their customer service is outstanding.
Just pull the trigger.
Lol!
Buying a 3.0 long range next month so exited I’m obsessed with e-bikes 😊
Enjoy it!
How have you been enjoying it basically 1 year in? I have one arriving hopefully sometime over the next few weeks. :)
Thanks for the review Griffin, you and Pierce are the best!
Thank you kindly!
I found this video great as always! Thanks for sharing ☺
The kind words are appreciated :)
Awesome. Thanks for the update ❤
No problem 😊
Cut the music out. Couldn't finish the video because that's all I hear.
I'm new to the electric bike scene, having just purchased the XP 3.0 and the Xpedtion models (April 2024). Taking the 3.0 out for a 5-mile night ride, I found that despite pedaling as fast as I could with the electric motor at its highest level (5), I could only reach a maximum speed of 18.2 mph. Coming from a dirt bike (Suzuki DRZ 400, DR650, Honda CRF 450X )) background, this felt quite sluggish to me and provided quite the workout for my legs. My main gripe, aside from the lack of speed, is with the upgraded light I purchased from Lectric. It proved to be ineffective, prompting me to have rather whish I stuck to the stock light and considered investing in either an aftermarket light or a high-lumen bicycle light for better visibility.
Additionally, I went over three speed bumps quite forcefully, and on the third bump, the power on the 3.0 e-bike suddenly cut out. I was standing on the pedals as I went over the bumps when this happened. Initially, I stopped, suspecting that the key had fallen out, which is located at the bottom of the sissy-frame (if that's the correct term). I stopped to check for the key. It was still there. It seems that the bumps may have been too much for the electronics, though the exact cause remains uncertain. Other than that, I am happy and will make the best with these e-bikes.
I'm open to any input or suggestions, particularly considering my limited knowledge of e-bikes. I'd greatly appreciate any helpful comments or advice. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
The easiest way ive found to fold this bike is (make sure battery is locked in position, seat post down, unlock the folding latch, hold the front brake and while holding the seat walk the back tire towards the front) it’ll close right up and then you can pick it up
Great review Griffin. Lectric's 3.0 looks like a very good deal and all the reviews are 4.5 or better. You might be able to find a cheaper bike from some unknown Chinese seller, but try to get a customer service or repair parts in a couple of months and you will be out of luck. I will be ordering my XP 3.0 in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the video.
Great review.. Thanks! I have 800 mi on my XP1 I can only say that it's been a solid performing reliable bike.. Kudos to them..That being said, as to be expected I have started to notice a slight degradation in the battery.
I'm deciding between getting the XP 3 or the Fabulous mini havoc with regular tires Which is okay with me as I'm an Urban rider.. Also one of the things about my XP that's bothersome is it's not conducive for somebody living in an apartment building going up and down in an elevator.. The thing is a tank! Lol
Havoc also boasts a 15.6 battery or more if you want, hydraulic brakes.. great reviews..It's like $300 more...
Decisions decisions..lol
Would be great to see a side by side as they're going after same customer..
Btw, I scratched my head many times trying to figure out why they have the key under the stem.. ridiculous!
I would have loved to have had a 3.0. But I was assured the pre Black Friday sale was the best thing going. 10 days later that came out with the 3.0 for the same money. Everybody likes getting less for their money.
My 2.0 has been great. Gets used by a lot by different people and adjusts to fit all. Got the new 3.0 and it is definitely improved. I like more power and the heavy duty rear rack. With the introductory suspension post, seat, light, and lock package it is a real bargain for $999. I don't really think the long range version for $1199 is a great deal though. 4 extra amp hours for $200 is not good when $299 buys a second whole battery
That is a very fair point on the second battery. I do think there will be some people who just like the convenience of a bit more range without having to haul the second battery potentially too. I'm very curious how many people just go the whole second battery route though.
I was looking at this bike and I was thinking about getting the long range but I seen that It was a better deal just to buy two batteries.
@zzzz I would go with the 3.0 for $999. They didn't put enough discount on the 2.0s. I like Lectric and their bikes are well known if you want to resell it. But if you are looking for the most bike per dollar then the best current bargain may be on Amazon. Has a silly name called Mukkpet but is 20x4 folding bike with Bafang hub, 13ah battery and LG cells for $750. I ordered one for my grandson that should arrive approximately February 10. It is his birthday present but gives me a chance to check out another bike lol.
@@ElectricBikeReport _"I do think there will be some people who just like the convenience of a bit more range without having to haul the second battery potentially too."_
Yeah, I'm one of those people. 😉 It would be nice if we could get more than a mere 34% extra range (especially since the price of the long range battery is 67% more!), but the additional mileage is just enough to make the difference between having to lug around an extra battery and having to switch it out, and *_not_* having to carry an extra battery and switch it out on a typical long-ish ride. So although the mathematical difference isn't much, the difference in convenience and avoidance of range anxiety is substantial.
better longevity for battery if it has more ah, means less charging. batteries degrade over time and the more you charge it the more it degrades. i just ordered the long range bundle, the long range battery is 500$ it sounds minor but its a pretty good upgrade i think.
gonna cop one right away
Now with hydraulic brakes it's even more bang for the buck. Winner Winner. Just needs 750 watts!
I love my 2.0 step thru with the comfort package. I want to buy this 3.0 for the wife but shes scared to get back on a bike. I'm trying to get her to try mine. I been telling her it's not like a older bike built in the 70s. It's better .
Bikes have come along way. Hopefully she gets comfortable enough to try them out again!
Nice review Griffin. I have a question about the hill test. Were you the one doing the test? If so that would make the time improvements even more impressive since I think Sam did the 2.0 last time and he is smaller than you.
And I miss seeing the climb footage that showed how the bike handled different parts of the hill that are extra steep.
Thanks Jimmy, Justin from our team does the test as he weighs closer to Sam and Pierce than I do. We've always tried to keep it to riders between 165-180 lbs for consistency. Weight is definitely a major factor.
We loved that footage, but logistically it complicates things which is why it was switched to just the gopro footage. We're trying to get quicker in doing reviews since there are a lot of bikes out there we get asked about.
Nice review! I'll wait for 4.0 to see what they improve next. Max weight is 330 lbs. That's what I weigh,so it's scary to buy it? Because you don't really know if it will hold that much weight! Plus pedals look like plastic? I bet crank is garbage too? Doesn't say you can upgrade anything on it? Wait and see if they come out with bike that holds more weight! Thank you for great review! Got new sub 😊
I complained for months about the brakes and the poor quality components on my Lectric XP 3.0 and everyone gave me such a hard time. It was obvious that early reviewers were either
A. Purposefully ignoring these shortcomings
or
B. Given test models with sidfewnt components.
Today I received an email from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission asking me to stop using my XP 3.0 immediately because of the risk of failure/wrecks. 🤷🏻♂️😏
It was almost impossible to put the rear rack back on the 2.0
I had to (for the lack of a better word) stretch it so I could bolt it back on.
I’m never taking it off again lol.
Considering the 3.0 as transportation into the woods to go hunting. Would be climbing hills up near Richfield and wondered if it will handle rough trails?
I don't think the key will release from the bike in the power-on position - only in the lock and battery release positions.
How does this stand up against the Aventon sinch?
How fast do they go with pedal assist ????
Please please! Ditch the background music!!!
Got you something!!!!!!!!! DM the above username on telegram to claim your prize. 🎮..........................................
YES!
I wish they would curve the handlebars towards the rider to make them closer.
I like the idea of the key, it’s an important anti-theft feature.
That's definitely a good aspect of it, but something about it being under the bike just isn't out favorite. It becomes he to forget and leave in. Maybe if it were on top and you had to have the key?
It's a gimmick for moron buyers. The bikes aren't stolen and ridden away, they are cut free and thrown into the back of a truck and driven away. A key does nothing to safeguard the bike.
@@brianbassett4379 we've had bikes stolen by them riding them away.
Thanks for your info, I can buy the second battery now or later , and can’t see the $200 when you can get two batteries for $290!
tell us more
With a lot of complaints that I see on here, I think people really want a motorcycle instead of a pedal assist ebike.
I am considering buying the slightly less expensive Jaison EB7 instead of the Lectric XP 3.0. Would love to se a review of the Jaison before making my decision. Thanks!
Nothing in the works with Jaison, unfortunately. This is one of our most highly recommended bikes FWIW.
I'm considering a 3.0 in the near future.
Good informative review.
Other reviews commented on the noisy mechanical brakes. Nothing from you. Makes me wonder about your objectivity. Is there $ome incentive involved ? 😮
brakes have been upgraded to hydraulic so no longer an issue.
Thanks. All those bikes should come with mirrors and turn signals. This should be mandatory for safety by law.
I've had poor luck with our two XP 3.0s as well as Lectric CS. The mechanical brakes are horrible (known issue). They supposedly notified XP 3.0 owners offering free hydraulic upgrade kits. We were never notified about the offer. Unfortunately, Lectric is no longer honoring this offer. The mechanical brakes (even the ones sent via a recall) are still horrible - and unsafe. I tried a few days ago and they refused to make good on this even though my wife and I bought 2 XP 3.0s in January - obviously AFTER the company was in the process of re-designing the brakes to hydraulic - yet still no help. Lectric customer service was not at all helpful...sorry we bought Lectric brand.
Lectric claims to have great customer service but when I called it's an hour wait and I waited almost an hour and a half with no answer and was super pissed, but ordered the 3.0 regardless. When I got the damn thing the back tube had a hole in it. After changing the tube with one that I had I took it for a ride to find that the brakes aren't properly adjusted and it came with no owners manual. I've changed the brakes several times on my 2.0 but the 3.0'S brakes are to complex for the average person to adjust or change. I'll never buy another Lectric product ever again.
please review the fucare's ebikes (libra,gemini...)
Nothing in the works yet but hopefully someday soon!
I feel like the key thing isn’t that big of an issue guess it helps with security
It's really not a problem, it's just strange as we've tested hundreds of bikes and this is the only one we can think of that makes you have the key in there.
The 3.0 long range is now apparently being sold with hydraulic brakes.
You need to make a model a little bit taller frame n tires for bigger people n to go on harder dirt roads
What prevents the pedals from hitting the key when folding the bike? And what prevents the battery from sliding out when folding the bike?
Battery locks in place so it won't slide out. Pedal location and key location don't line up so I don't believe the pedals hitting it would be an issue.
How does this compare to the xpremium? Would this be a better value? Also I’m just a little over 6 feet tall- would either be comfortable?
I am 6 feet tall and 280 pounds only issue I have is I did not get the step through.. IT is comfrtable to ride . The Premium big difference is that it has TWO batteries and weighs more I would think .
I,m a senior citizen and the ebike is too heavy for me.Also it's hard to put the key in the ignition on the bottom of the cross bar.I couldn't get the battery out of the tube,so I had to looke at a video on you tube.Un fortunately I can't return it,so i,m stuck with it.I plan on selling it eventually.
When do we get the 4.0 with hydraulic brakes, turn signals and a brake light?
This one just came out so it might be a while!
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
In my opinion if you go with the g-force t42 you get a better bike for the same amount of money and you get a 750 watt motor with hydraulic brakes it's just a better bike
We'll have to take a look at that one.
I can't believe with all the features on it that you haven't looked at that G-Force t42 cuz all around it is the best ebike
3 things i would also add are: 24" wheels and 2" tires, also full hydraulic brakes
You should have added the XP 1.0, which is the best one of all.
Got you something!!!!!!!!! DM the above username on telegram to claim your prize. 🎮..........................................
These looking at reviews are nice.....but can we get reviews of heavy usage over time please? Without this, this is just a commercial for your business which doesn't give consumers the info we need to know.
Forget riding without the key in, I'd rather not have to bend over and fish around for the hole! Find a way for the key to be on top!
Also a good point.
I don’t want the bike to ride without the key. And I’ve never had rain to get in the keyhole when I get caught in the rain. I don’t like having to fish around for the keyhole, but I’m getting better at finding it. 😂. I LOVE MY LECTRIC!!!
PS. My neighbor has a naked eBike that costed her $5500, and it doesn’t even have a key, kickstand, or a throttle. What the heck!!! It’s just bigger, quieter, and way more expensive. She says it’s a mountain eBike. No thanks, but I enjoy riding with her.
Giggity
Water is the issue with the keyhole on top
@@MountainBikeMusings You know you’re absolutely right. I haven’t had any water issues with water getting into the keyhole when I get caught out in the rain. And I keep a disposable glove to cover my display in case of rain. Plus I have a cover for my cockpit and one for the entire bike, but I haven’t had to use them.
The new 3.0 has 1000watt motor which makes it illegal in almost every trail and road. Does it actually say 1000w on the hub in case a cop pulls you over on it as 750 is the highest to be ebike legal?
It has a 500 W motor... Don't get obsessed with the peak power that can only be delivered for a short amount of time. Unbelievable.
This review was with the STANDARD battery NOT the "Long Range" battery correct?
Correct! So anticipate roughly 30% better results if you get the larger battery.
This bike looks like the Gotrax R2! I have a Gotrax and watching this video is like watching their video! must be the same company or someone's copying someone else's bike lol hummm🤔🤔
What is the purpose of the back ground noise besides being annoying?
To show how unaware they are on producing a quality video and to scare away potential subscribers is my take on it.
Slime is a terrible idea, when it comes time to change a tire you will quickly find out what a mess it makes and if a bike shop changes your tire you will pay extra with all the clean up, I
As had this experience when I used it in my lawn tractor tire, the dealership was not happy about that
Help…I I just received the 3.0 and was very disappointed. Out of the box the wires were disconnected. After connecting the wires I took it for a ride. I notice it’s very weak, less power than my Lectric 2.0, 1,0 and 350 watt Goplus. I had to wrist the throttle all the way but it slowly kicks in. It doesn’t execrate no matter how much I twist the throttle.
Yes, the battery is fully charged.
I called Lectric xp for 3 days but no one is picking up. Its been 2 weeks and support is not responding back via email.
Is this normal? Please help, hopefully you can help me. I may need to do a return if theirs no solution. Thank you.
If the company is not responding, you should return it ASAP. Can you provide an update? Thank you.
What SUV do you have?
Mazda CX-5
Oh god, another video with music
?
Anyone know the approximate range throttle only with a 230 lb rider?
We don't do throttle only tests currently, but when we experimented with it in the past it's usually around 5-20% shorter than what we get on our max PAS tests.
Ancheer 26" Electric Bike
Hi, Griffin...can you tell me what's the top speed you actually achieved on flat ground on the XP 3.0 in throttle-only mode? (Not the advertised top speed, the _actual_ top speed.)
Thanks! 😊
Just over 19 mph. Lighter riders than my 230 lbs. self likely would get the 20 mph
@@ElectricBikeReport Thanks for the response. That's about (or very slightly better than) what I'm getting -- a max of about 18.7 on throttle only, and I weigh about 208. 😕
I'm fairly happy with the XP 3.0's pedal assist performance, but quite disappointed with the throttle-only performance. The acceleration is modest -- especially above around 13 mph -- and my top speed is only around 18 or so on a full battery (and it goes down from there as it discharges).
I want one how much is the 3.0
Link in the description for up to date pricing.
Is it waterproof
Water resistant, yes. Should be fine to ride in the rain, just try to not store it outside uncovered.
I've driven it through super bad rain storms, drove it through GIANT puddles- its fine!
Where is the factory located?
Overseas
The headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona
Is the battery removable?
Yes.
Great Review but not really interested with this company as of now. To many complaints from customers with the BBB.
It took 2 1/2 months to ship and when it arrived the back tire tube was split. Customer service is terrible, and quality control no better. You are not buying an American product it's made in China.
This exactly, I realized this after it was too late. The ebike market is just flooded with copycat cheap ebikes and it was overwhelming to choose one so I went with this. It sucks
If they made it faster, better motor 1000 watt (1500) max and add turn signals, brake light when you hit the brakes. I'd pay the extra 200 or 300 bucks.
That wish list would cost more than that.
Try not to sound to excited 😒
You should know that lectric ebikes are NON RETURNABLE! don't be me and get stuck financing a bike that quit working within 3 months.
Cheap price but you get what you paid for. A 480 watt battery. The key is still underneath the bike. Most ebikes are using a least 672 watts in their bikes.
There will always be tradeoffs when holding to a pricepoint, but for $999 it's still great value
The bike is built in China. Lectric has no say in where the key is. The Chinese decide that. Talk to them. Lectric only sells the bikes.
really funny comment
Fell asleep... Boring
At least now you know you have a video you can watch if you're struggling to fall asleep. You're welcome!!
That is why the play the annoying background music, to try to help you not to fall asleep. Didn't work for you, but certainly kept me from completing the video or subscribing.
I found out that the hand grip are way too loose
On the site it doesn't day the max speed?
Ships as class 2: 20 mph. Can adjust to class 3: 28 mph
@@ElectricBikeReport I have the Aielec af7 and I already get up to 28mph with this bike, but that's going down hill or flat surface.
It does not really look too fast
Acceleration isn't world-beating, but it's still got decent zip.
