  • This is the most fun and battery draining path I have ridden on my Lectric XP 3.0. How does the XP 3.0 do when riding steep hills and sharp curves while facing high winds & loaded with a passenger? I demonstrate the battery range of the Lectric XP 3.0 in worst case conditions along the Carrizo Fitness trail in the Lincoln National Forest. This trail turned out to be the most perfect and fun trail to ride on an ebike! The route proved to be challenging for both bike and rider but was very beautiful and fun to ride. The bike was loaded with 340lbs of gear and passengers, which slightly exceeds its rated capacity, but it was more than up for the challenge!

Lectric needs to put a seat back on their rear passenger seat. I can see where that would GREATLY add to the passenger’s comfort level when riding!

Beautiful trail! Never been up that way. Just got my 3.0 in yesterday and took it for it's first spin. Love it so far! Thank you for the video!

Why's you test a trail with a passenger? That seems like no fun.

I was testing the range in worst case conditions, fully loaded, lots of hills and acceleration needed. Also, giving someone a ride can be quite fun!

Yes, but a passenger makes a BIG difference and on very steep hills even Class 3 can struggle a bit.

Like your review and choice of trail with terrain and curves and with a passenger. I just made my 3.0 purchase yesterday with a free accessary to include the cargo baskets, comfort seat and lock, mirrors, phone holder . I also thought what the heck let’s buy the passenger setup as well right? I’ve been watching Lektric videos for 2 years and finally getting ready to ride. Can’t wait!

I did 37 miles on a charge last week. Lots of hills. 1,300 foot gain. All pavement. 10.5 mph average using PAS 2 mostly and some breaks using throttle only. Longer range battery and it was about empty a few blocks from home. No throttle power but PAS still provided some power. I weigh around 260 pounds. Also had some tools in the pannier bags.

Nice trail no cars.....more places need trails like these.
(Electric-All-Wheel) makes dual battery kits for the XP 3.0.
I do not use my bike that much or put any kind of strain on the battery so that set up probably isn't for me.
But it's nice to know there are kits out there.
Looks like you could benefit from a Lectric XPedition dual battery bike.
I am happy with my purchasse of the XP 3.0 long range.....nice little bike.

My wife has the trike now so I suspect less need to use the passenger accommodations.

I can tell from the squeaky noise when you brake that your brakes are mechanical. I had the same issue, so after requesting an upgrade and installing hydraulic brakes...no more annoying squeaks and better braking. If you haven't already done so get the upgrade option. You will be pleased with the results. I have almost 700 miles on my 3.0 and love it! Happy trails...

Maybe I missed it, but were you using the standard battery or the long range battery on the XP 3.0? Do you think the air temp had any effect on the range? Reason I ask, live in Tucson and currently the avg temp is 106 and I recently bought the XP 3.0 with the long range battery. Your video also gave me an idea of a travel destination. Thx

Long range battery and temps were nearly perfect for range, 60s to 70s. Lots of weight and hills are really killer on range.

Hey I just got my xp 3.0, just a rookie question, do you change gears when adjusting the PAS? I notice it makes it more normal to pedal when going faster but I’m not sure if it’s detrimental to the bike

    • @LectricGo
      @LectricGo  Рік тому

The higher the PAS, the higher the gear typically so it feels most natural. You can usé whatever gear you want without hurting the bike. Hub motors torque is completely separate from the pedal forces.

Nice video!! Been doing similar courses/trails on my XP 2.0 and on a full charge, I get about 20-25 miles (mostly at level 2 assist) before the last two bars show on the battery meter. Be safe out there!!

105 degrees is dangerous for your battery, climbing step grades in hot climate adds extra stress on the motor and battery. It isn't recommended to ride in those extreme temperatures it's already hot inside the frame, this is hot unexpected fires are born, thermal runway can get started in these conditions!
