I'm glad that more companies are taking Rad Power's lead and going with a 20"x3" tire rather than the 4".

The rotors are pretty thin and if they get glazed they will make noise. I found that scuffing them with 600 grit sand paper helps take the glaze off the rotor and quiets them down. Hope this helps .

Lectric seems to be a leader in the 20” fat tire segment, but it’s disappointing that once again a full suspension is still not present in there 3 series, but in actuality it’s 5 installment including the mid drive, and Lectric light which none have suspension in the back. It really makes a big difference. Once you feel the difference you’ll not accept a lesser comfort experience. I like Lectric, but I’m eagerly awaiting the “4th” installment in this particular model.

The original in my opinion is better than the latest 2 and 3.0.
It's the holidays so they just pump out a bike but there's many better bikes on the market at this pricepoint now.

    • @Srrrrrrr...
      @Srrrrrrr... 2 роки тому

Yeah the 4 inch tires just make it look and feel bad a**. Haha.
I think the sand colored "lite" is a cool little backup, but I wouldn't replace my original with it.

@@Srrrrrrr... plus even though the original is a 10 ah battery the cells used were too rated name brand cells in the originals but as Ebikes became so much more popular name brand cells have gotten harder to get so Lectric started using cheaper cells
I have a original XP and my father has a 2.0 and my battery lasts alot longer when we ride together and I am 70 pounds heavier than my father.

Thanks again Jeremiah! Like you and others have noticed, the 11tooth freewheel's effect (along with new motor and controller) creates the scenario shown @23:28: cruising at 26-28mph (!!!) and easy pedaling with low tire and motor noise or strain, on a suspended folding bike with comfy (Cloud-9 or Selle Royal Drifter) seat. Being able to cruise at level 3 26-28mph means that you're able to get to where your going with satisfactory speed. In this mode, its' so much more enjoyable to be pedaling meaningfully (yet being able to rest). For e-bikers this is the Sweet-spot: e-bike nirvana. The other secret sauce of the XP 3.0 is that it does this (plus climbs hills adequately) on a "amp economical" 500 watt motor (i.e. efficient on battery drain). After seeing all the others, this is the one for me (white, step-through, 14ah pack).

If I had to choose I would rather have a quieter motor than brakes. At least they'll hear you coming when braking which is important to let others know you need to stop and to alert them. Any thoughts on storing the bikes with a full battery or how to use the battery up a bit. It suggests storing bikes long term at 60%. So far they are inside but want to move them to the shed to store. Don't see how we can run the batteries down at this point.

You can try setting the bike in the display to not turn off by itself then turn the lights on and leave them on for a while it would probably take a long time to drain the battery down this way but it should over time. I would not store the batteries at 100% I would drain them down some to around 60% and keep the batteries in heated storage.

sounds like lectric did some good improvements on the 3.0 over my 2.0
i replaced my seat, pedals, free wheel to the 11-28, and rear brake caliper to the easy replacement hydraulic, keeping the cable and brake handle.
i didn't replace my bars or grips, but perhaps i might, i do like the idea of my bars being wider, but not enough to do all the work to swap them.
my 2.0 motor is very quiet as well, i think it might be variance, but i barely ever hear it. the original brakes however, they were super squeaky, and i didn't like that at all. maybe if you find a good replacement pad to address the squeakiness that might help, instead of replacing the entire caliper/system.
i wouldn't mind having more power, but what i have is good enough so i haven't done anything with it.
thanks again for your review video, if i didn't already have the 2.0, i think it would be good to wait for the 3.0 and get that instead, but even the 2.0 is a great ebike.

I have always been tempted to get an e-bike but what stops me in my tracks is the (albeit rare) stories of lithium-ion battery thermal runaway especially when charging so If i do get one I will have to keep it outside away from the house while charging, and even when not charging. electric battery technology has to make the Li-ion batts more stable (gel vs liquid electrolyte) and the casing sturdier because even Teslas burn houses down and cremate passengers/drivers when something goes awry.

Yeah, I find the torque output of the XP 3.0 to be less than awe-inspiring. Acceleration in throttle-only mode is modest and top speed is only about 17.5 to 18 mph.
Performance in pedal-assist mode is pretty good, although to get past 25 mph you have to put in quite a bit of physical effort.
Similarly, hill climbing is satisfactory (within reason) in pedal-assist mode in lower gears, but there again, throttle-only mode is not what I would use for that.

Someone taller like you id definitely recommend not getting the step thru version. They are fantastic bikes though and even if you weigh over 330lbs it'll pull you right along.

Hey great review. I just got mine and rode it for the first time today. The brakes are SOOOO noisy it's kinda infuriating. A brand new bike shouldn't have brakes like these. Do you know how to fix this? Also, the regular battery is pretty weak. I was almost out after about 23 miles of riding using mostly PAS 3, and some 4. Mostly flat terrain and normal conditions, so I'm pretty disappointed thinking I should've gotten the long range. Anyways, really hoping I'll start loving this bike. I have to lol

The brake noise is surely an issue. It must be the type of brake pads they are using. You could easily replace the brakes with a hydraulic cable brake system. I did this on the 1.0 and 2.0, my X premium already has these brakes but are truly hydraulic. Even with my X Premium, I changed out the freewheel. The funny question that I have is, this is not a dirt bike why do they put knobby tires that are meant for dirt. Most people ride on the street on paved bike paths.
