2008 Steelers defense was great
@Jonathan Dee The One And Only And they didn't give up a single rush over 7 yards all season.
Never mind, that's not true, but I am 100% sure I heard that somewhere.
real talk
Yeah they are just lucky they didn't have to play Tom Brady that season.
@@anthonyhutchins2300 Who won the super bowl that year tho
Jason Witten not even turning to look for the ball on 4th down is hilarious lol

Now this is an instant classic of the 2 uploaded games today!!!
Ben doesn’t get enough credit for what he did behind that awful 2008 line
Facts
Facts! Steelers D was amazing but Ben being clutch in big moments was crucial to the Super bowl run
He never gets any credit
Yes we where playing musical offensive line till it got fixed and started to click and get. I hoping that we could fix and gel this young 2021 offensive line play its gonna be rough this year. Steelers nation.
Most sacked QB in a season to win a SB.
I’m absolutely LOVING these steelers throwback vids thanks so much for uploading them. I miss this Steelers team so much. Their games were classics too
I remember watching this game and it doesn't seem like it was 12 years ago. Wow!
Never realized how good of a game this was....Hard hitting, big plays etc wow
Mike Tomlin after this game:
"What a beautiful football game. And I mean that."
The physicality of this game is insane. Not like today's games where there's a flag every big hit or receivers wanting a flag more than they want to actually catch the ball.
Yeah but the players today won't end up slaughtering their family when their 200 year old brain finally snaps.
@@anthonyhutchins2300 bbbnnnnn.

This post epitomizes NFL Throwback comments sections. Can't wait for people to say the same thing about 2020 NFL football in 2032.
Also, you mustn't have been paying attention if you think receivers weren't frequently pleading for flags back then.
I went to the game in 2016 at Pittsburgh. COWBOYS won a GREAT game. Steelers fans are class acts too. Lots of cool people in that city.
I remember that game. I saw Ben give AB a thumbs up before the spike and I knew he was going to throw it. I absolutely lost my mind when they scored. And then.... well we all know what happened next ☠️
This started the collapse of the 2008 cowboys
And 2009 was the only time they were clutch but McNabb and the eagles limped into the game for that wild card game
Kevin burrnet is the goat
Very underrated game
I voted for Trump
This better than 2012 one
@@erocs9747 definitely better.
Miss these types of games
Dallas closed out the 2008 season by playing the Steelers, Giants, Ravens, and Eagles, who had the 5th, 3rd, 1st, and 4th best point differentials in the league. The Steelers, Ravens, and Eagles all made it to the conference championship game. The Giants were the top seed in the NFC and lost to the Eagles in the divisional round. As much as I like to laugh at Dallas for collapsing that year they had an absolutely brutal final quarter of the season. They did lose 3 of the 4 games and got obliterated 44-6 by the Eagles in week 17 with a playoff birth at stake.
Thanks for sharing, that was nice background to add! 😊
The energy for this game was crazy. The Steelers were amped from the start. I've never seen guys get so excited for 1st quarter plays. Same for the crowd, never heard it so loud in the 1st quarter.
I remember this, my buddy legit started crying when romo threw that pick 6 and we all knew the game was over by then lmaoo
Your buddy must have cried a lot
@@moebetta4224 I Feel His Pain
Doesn't remove the Pain of Neil ODonnell throwing that Pick in the SuperBowl against Dallas. Steelers sucked for 10 minutes at the beginning, got behind , the DOMINATED for the next 3 Quarters.......but ODonnell found a way to LOSE 5:16
A crowd? No mask? Less then 6 feet? That seem like a far souvenir.
We will get back to this soon. I’m hopeful we will beat this pandemic.
During this game, because of the weather, I would have myself, worn a mask

2012: Another team from the AFC North (Ravens) won it. Steelers in the division

The games were in 2008 and 2012

Meanwhile lead the nfl in clutch moments from 06-15 and is statistically one of the greatest of all time in clutch moments. But yes, let's all remember the few games where he was injured like this one playing with a broken throwing hand.

Vintage Romo 22:23 😂
I was at this game and nearly lost my finger biting into it while eating a cheeseburger. 😂 it was so cold i couldnt even tell it was happening
I went to this game with my dad. Probably the coldest game I’ve ever been to. The hot chocolate would freeze in 10 minutes
Maan , i would love to hear Romo's breakdown at the time of this game
Man at the time I really thought this could've been the eventual matchup in super bowl 43. Then Dallas fell apart in December.
They were such an underrated team that year! If Dallas would've won a couple of more games, they would've gotten the 6th seed.
Yeah injuries got the best of them along with a bad coaching staff. Wade Phillips was a good defensive coordinator but a bad head coach. Tony Romo misfired most of the season because of a fracture in his finger. Terrell Owens (who didn't report it) had broken fingers, Marion Barber and Felix Jones both out, Roy Williams had a broken forearm, Terrance Newman had battled with injuries as well, Kyle Koisar was also out, all of these players were starters. Cowboys only needed one win to get in and they played against a weak rams team that season but they lost since Tony Romo had just gotten injured. They could've been 10-6. Sucks but it is what it is.
@@gersonr7476 lofl, the excuses for Romo never end. Face it, he threw some of the dumbest interceptions at the absolute worst times. This game was a perfect example.
@@moebetta4224 It happens. Qbs can throw a late game interception. Even Tom Brady threw some. The difference is that nobody let's those interceptions define their careers because they have a ring. Eli Manning is the greatest example. That man has thrown so many games away turning the ball over so many times. I like Eli but man did I think he made boneheaded throws. Nobody cares though because he has two rings even if somebody else without a ring has always played better than him. People like to piss, complain, and criticize people for some reason. I get that Eli was clutch in the playoffs but he at least had a team that would give him a chance whether Eli played well or not.
@@gersonr7476 Too Many Ints!
Man nfl throwback thank you for blessing us with great content🙏🏼
Steelers have that same type of defense this yr and they won the superbowl that yr in tampa bay too.
The Steelers D year before last was just as good as this one here. They had the makings of a Super Bowl run had Big Ben not gotten injured. Still would have made the post season by last year's rules with a Duck at QB. They had a sick D last year as well, but it was a 180 as they couldn't stay healthy. I'd argue they got fucked by the Covid postponements.
My favorite game from that Super Bowl year
I remember this game like yesterday. Buck and Aikman were hardcore homers for the Cowboys... and then it happened 👀
KEVIN FREAKING BURNETT 👍🏼
That sucks. dallas was 8-4 near the end, then collapsed against the ravens and eagles to finish 9-7. This team had potential, sad to see it wasted.
The last elite season for marion barber
A lot of bad decisions by the front office. Making Marion barber the featured back. He was always out of gas by the fourth quarter. Same with Ratliff. Parcels said he told Jerry to draft a true NT because Ratliff is too small to hold up and that proved to be true. The only consistent DB they had was Scandrick. He didn't get any pics but he gave up the fewest receiving yards in the league and he was pretty good at the corner blitz. Jerry thought Newman was the man when he was actually average or slightly better than average and got roasted in a lot of deep passes. The offensive line was pure garbage and Parcels told Jerry he needed to draft a tackle because Colombo wasn't gonna hold up and he didn't. He got Romo sacked 4 times by himself against the Vikings in the playoffs in 09. Tashard Choice was the better overall RB but Jerry sabotaged his career because he was asking to earn more playing time. Jerry was protecting his pet Barber. And in 2022, the mess continues. Zeke will be released at the end of the season for Pollard. A guy that hasn't been healthy for a whole season while only playing part time. The Dallas front office never learns.
The last season Owens had with Dallas.
@@greezythumb you’re on point and your Pollard prediction aged well.
@@itdoesntmeanathinglol ain’t that something?
Seemed like the Steelers got 8 turnovers from the Cowboys this game lol. It shouldve been a blowout early, but Wade Phillip's defense was tough. One of my favorite D coordinators as a Steeler fan.
Only the cowboys would lose a game in regulation were they lead by a td with a little over 2 minutes left
Falcons do that too though.
Enter Falcons
Lions (yeah yeah yeah) Saints (Brees fights hard to lead them only for the defense to fuck up in the final seconds/OT.)

This was the game and the last game of the Season against the Eagles when my 18 year old self was so heartbroken I had to break up with the Cowboys for this collapse with so much talent 😔💔
I love going back & watchin these old games the Steelers in 2021 need to play like these old Steelers did tough smash mouth football!!! None in 2021 does it today we could win slot of games going back to the smash mouth style!!
Ben is the only player left on that 08 Steeler team
I get so much nostalgia when I see Romo choke. Reminds me of my childhood.
at that time, it was the most super bowl wins combined matchup in history along with the niners!
Until the Patriots vs Steelers happened in the 2019 season. 6 Super Bowl wins each! 12 Lombardi Trophies combined! No other teams can say that except for those 2! AFC >>>> NFC!!!!
@Jonathan Dee The One And Only but those 2 aren't the most super bowl wins combined anymore. it's the patriots and steelers now with both of them winning 6 lombardi's each.

Romo choked this game🤦🏾♂️

@@Kingdizzleltdinc615 Stop the Romo slander. Yeah he choked in this game, but Romo was still a clutch QB. Most game-winning drives of any Cowboys QB and tied for the most 4th quarter comebacks during the duration of his career.
witten ran the wrong route on the interception. shouldve been a catch for positive yards.
Rigged Rigged Rigged... Steelers coach whispered in #26 ear after the kick off.. (the pick is coming).. time stamp 22:10
As much as I love seeing TO get stroppy after a Steeler win, I prefer the one from 04 against the Eagles where he gets into it with Donovan McNabb
Ya I think that was when you guys went 15 and 1 even though you guys won a super bowl as wild card even though I think 04 team was better
I mean what a football game. I don’t know what Dick Lebeau used to tell guys on his defenses, but they really bought in. They were focused and they played for their teammates. There was no one on those defenses who were weak. Everyone played with such grit and determination. That’s what I love as a Steelers fan.
Steelers fan, here. Cowboys d absolutely manhandled our o line. I remember they had a great defense, around that time.
I'll never forget this game. Watched from a hotel bar downtown while my niece(Steeler fan) and her then boyfriend(Cowboy fan) were at the game It was frigid!
'08 steelers were built differently and prove that they were SB contender, not like in 2020 season whose a "sheep in wolf's cloathing" team

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many turnovers and so few points.

Just a suggestion if you could post the stats from the game in the description or comments that would be dope
9:49 during that span no team in the NFL led the league in rush, pass and total defense. Until the 2013 season, there was one that made that happen. And they ended up winning the SB in East Rutherford, NJ. Beating the #1 offense 43-8.

@@NFLVault I Love NFL Football So Much!
Hey look at that, Tony Romo throwing another big interception 😃
This game more than likely didn't do much to help shake the 'choker' label that Romo had earned over the course of his career. What's even more tragic is that both of the final two drives ended with miscommunications by one of the most reliable duos in the NFL at the time. Romo to Witten was almost _always_ money and yet in both cases, neither seemed to be on the same page and it essentially cost them the game.
People hate romo the same way they hate Eli by calling him a choker. The only difference? Eli has 2 rings, whereas romo didnt have any. I’m a cowboys fan so I may be bias, but romo wasn’t a choker. As you said, just miscommunication issues. In this game, for instance, it was witten’s fault, and he apologized for running the wrong route. Only time I can see romo choking is the Seattle wild card game with the botched snap (but even then, that game wasn’t entirely his fault)
Yes help my anxiety with the election NFL Throwback

Hello love your videos keep it up
The year brad Johnson and Brooks bollinger helped lead to the cowboys collapse but after 2009 most of the cowboys collapses were games where Romo played well and made a bad play at the end trying to do to much

Steelers went on to win Super Bowl XLIII. This big win against Dallas helped set up their Super Bowl showdown with Warner and the Cardinals. Fast forward a few years and Cardinals are in a position to draft Kyler Murray, setting up a reunion with Kliff Kingsbury, his coach in college. Had the Boys won this game, the Super Bowl probably would've had a different matchup and perhaps Murray would've gone elsewhere.
