I’ll never get tired of watching Troy run it back to the house for the game winner and seeing the hometown fans going bonkers. I was inside a large, Steelers fan club and all of us erupted with pure elation, knowing that we hadn’t won an AFC title game at home since the ‘95 season. That play was legendary and so was Troy.
Trey Biltin thank you for putting this together. Brings back great memories. I watched this at Carson City Saloon. When Polamalu made that interception the place erupted people were standing on chairs and the benches. What a defense. What a team! On a side note, I had forgotten about Limus Sweed, one of the biggest busts Steelers history, that dude couldn't catch a cold.
🤦♂️Being a long time Steeler fan, (before the 5th and 6th💎), as well as bein from TEXAS Lima Sweed was a very unfortunate disappointing bust in NFL. Thank God🙌for the rest of the Receivers unmistakable Championship talent💯.
Idk if anyone remember right before this game started..they asked who better out of Reed an Troy .an they all said Reed cus when he gets an pick.he can take it in for 6..and when polamalu did that I was so happy
Reed finished his career with twice as many picks, and 3 times as many tds Polamalu...so they were right. Ed was better...but Troy played better that night
Steelers had one of the most dominant defenses of all time that year. Smith-Hampton-Keisel were so good up front. LBs and backfield were both top shelf as well. If Sweed would not have dropped that walk in TD this game would not have been so close
@@michaeltruthseeker6584 stupid comment. Imagine of Joe Greene and Rod Woodson were too. Haha any team could say that. Time out for you. Think about your dumb comment.
I remember this game like it was yesterday. The Super Bowl was nail biting and definitely an all time game, but this was probably the best game I ever watched. Every single player on both teams was laying it ALL on the line
When you look at all the heartbreaking AFC championship games at home the Steelers had…to do this vs the RIVAL…man what a play. Polamalu clutch! 13:41. Steelers were the complete package here.
Thank you for clarifying that. The best Steeler team was one that never went to the SB. Remember that we went to the AFC championship in 1976, but Franco and Terry were hurt. But they allowed the opponents to some small score.
The Steelers had a memorable 2008 NFL season. The Steelers anyways were favorites especially them playing at home in Pittsburgh. They were destined to win.I was going for the Ravens because they beat the team with the best record in the NFL the 13-3 Tennessee Titans a week before this game was played. 🤦♂️ You have to hand it to the Steelers they played a tough game against a tough opponent. Also in the last 58 super bowls i have yet to see a rookie quarterback lead his team to a super bowl. Its always quarterbacks that have played 2 or more seasons that play in a super bowl.Congrats to the 2008 Pittsburgh Steelers in there Super Bowl 43 win they will always be remembered for that win 🏈
SUPERBOWL 43 BOUND THANKS TO #43!!! Steelers defense this years was one of its best its been in 30 years. The ravens only got 2 tds this game because of PI calls in the endzone. Team was goated!!
Did anyone else notice on the opening kick off one of the Raven players was knocked out cold for a few seconds. Literally Gary Russell jumps over his motionless body and Jim Nantz even says Russell hurdles a Raven's player. Just look who he hurdles and look how stiff his body is.
Beautiful game. @ 7:16 How do you sleep that night if your name is Limas Sweed? Heath or Hines (or most anybody) would have caught that beautiful pass.
anyone see that dude get laid the fuck out on the first kickoff ?! loved watching steelers and ravens back in the day nothing but hard hits and good football
Right. And then fakes an injury to try to take the focus off his ineptness. Next time he needs to focus on the ball & stop watching himself on the big screen. What a pathetic performance.
@@greatestnitemare6626 Doesn't matter, the ball crossed the plane which is a touchdown and hence why the rule was changed, unless somehow, you forget that. Running backs lose control many times and it is still called a touchdown.

How apropos that #43 Troy makes the play to insure they go to Superbowl #43. Almost as good as Bettis playing in Detroit for Superbowl XL in his last year.
That’s how the referees make calls when their Ravens are playing. The referees tried real hard to give this game to the ravens but the Steelers screwed up the referees master plan and beat the Ravens. LOLOL
This have to be called into.the conversation when discussing Troy vs Ed Reed because head to head in an AFC championship game Ed Reed looked horrible while Troy Rose to the occasion with a Super Bowl ticket on the line... Troy was more clutch

Funny how crazy this rivalry was. Now in all the AFC north Facebook groups you'll find the Ravens and steelers fans banding together in their hatred for the Bengals 🤣 Fucking bengals.

And there were only 8 Ravens on that same side of the field. 😂😂😂
The roar in the stadium when Troy picked that ball!
Such a cold fucking night and not one steelers fan felt the chill. Heated environment for sure.
That was AMAZING.
13:58 - Polamalu ran through a swarming O-Line, broke a tackle, and in for the TD. Damn awesome.
So happy my mom got to see two Super Bowls before she passed in 2011. Grateful to God...

Yeah, Sweed was total shit. Although Ward, Washington, Randle El, Holmes and Miller all made up for it in the passing attack.
Jarvis Jones is another monumental bust. Dude set back the 2010s defenses a few years when they finally had a high scoring offense
