This was probably the best receiving corps in the league at the time. AB, Martavis Bryant, and Markus Wheaton. People forget how effective those last two guys were, especially Bryant. Granted they needed AB’s presence to be that effective.

The season Shazier got hurt was the year we finally built an elite defense to complement that top 3 offense in my opinion. The secondary was still iffy but people forget that defense was like top 5 at least in points allowed up until Shazier’s injury. Then it all fell apart, goes to show how Shazier was the most important player on that defense. Now in 2020 we finally have a top 3 defense once again but the elite offense of the 2010s has been gutted.
@@kmccary 2012 thru 2015 were the big years for the legion of boom and that year specifically they played very well against Brady in Seattle. So imo I wouldn't point to any of those games in 2012 (when Wilson was a rookie) that he proved he could do it without the LoB

This game was a must win for Seattle sitting at 0.500 with Arizona running away with the division 10 games into the season. Seattle went on to win 4 of the remaining 5 games to clinch a Wildcard berth which we all remember as the Blair Walsh wide left chip shot. This was also the season that really put Doug Baldwin on the map as he finished the season with 14 receiving touchdowns!
I remember we gave up huge 3rd and long conversions which set us up for failure. This Steelers defense was garbage. Hopefully the defense can stay dominate this year.
This secondary was truly the worst I have ever seen. I felt better when we got em to 3rd and 2 than 3rd and 20 because you knew that secondary couldn’t stop shit.

In this game, the Seattle Seahawks became another, from 5-5 to 10-6, a second half of the season that many did not expect, after heartbreaking defeats in which they entered the fourth quarter with the advantage.
We won despite giving up 580+ yards of offense to the Steelers. That catch and run for that gw touchdown was my favorite play of this barn burner affair.

Really, really strange decision by Mike Tomlin to kick the field goal down 5, considering how aggressive he had been all game (running a fake FG earlier, as well as attempting multiple 2 point conversions). I can't see how he had faith in his defense either considering how badly they were getting gashed by Wilson, and of course that proved to be the nail in the coffin on that 80 yard TD pass to Baldwin. The more I think about it, the more dumbfounded I am that he decided to be play it so conservative in that situation.
Steelers D was so bad during these years, which is sad because the offense was pretty lethal. They couldn't stop Seattle in this game to save their lives.
