You can tell a nice fishery when there are oysters .Parra matta river had none in the 80s now they do .Have an adventure fish the Hawkesbury Cowan creek even Berowa much better .Is the Toll holding you back.
Haha no not the tolls. Time, and travel time in creating a good video but I will head up that way. I just need my cameraman to get better first and then there will certainly be some out of Sydney adventures!
Advice from someone who paid a lot to learn, unless you know exactly what you’re doing, do not cast lures against the wind specially topwater lures because the chances of having a wind knot in your line is super high

Hey Shroom, merry Christmas happy new year, after multiple years of successful bait fishing I was finally able to catch my first bream on a lure using a 2.5 grub I'm super proud it was 32 cm too so decent catch, made a nice meal today!🎣

@@ShroomFishing just to be clear, first bream on a soft plastic, caught them plenty with baits etc.
Happy new year. Maybe use a round snap, I dislike loop knots as well. They are not ideal when targeting large bass on surface, plus you can change your surface lure easily.

Merry Chrissie from just another one of yr many fans. By the way, I’ve found hardbodies, mainly shallow divers, to be a fair way to catch fish, but soft plastics, like Paddletails, on a jighead, can be dynamite!😊

Is there Bull Sharks in that part of the world? Can you wade safely?
I reckon i saw one from the boat near Bullock Island Gippy Lakes. About 1.75m broad head like a bull shark (could have been a 7gill or a thresher but it had that fat bull shark head...so pretty sure) Which is a concern as they are a pest and are coming fuether south with warm weather). Are there good populations in the lakes your on in this video? Do they impact your use of the water?

Yep Peter, surely a few sharks in the system but usually not a problem. I'lll have to make a shark video at some stage, very fun but I havent done it for years

It's magic Fred, especially since you don't walk the same ground as anyone up that way or very few. I don't think I saw a single person going toward one of the creeks and I could understand why with the moderate difficulty of access
I had some good result with a Lucky craft NW pencil in "American shad", however very small lure, hard to get distance with the gear I had.

Thanks Gosper! How good did those creeks look? I really did do a thousand casts into snags but I reckon it was the rain we've been having. It's been constant and the tides have been weak during the daytime. I'll certainly be making more videos as usual in 24!

I find bream only hookup on smaller trebble hooks. I have caught many fish with single hook plastics, but NEVER a brim.

Surface lures work better with a little bit of chop.
Pause n retrieve for bream and keep winding for whiting.toss the rear treble n use stingers if it has rear trebles.
Yep, I don’t mind just leaving the trebles just depends what’s out there and what mood they are in. You get better smashes with them at least haha

Thanks a lot. Depends what type, if UA-cam, then you certainly need a GoPro and then you need to make an important decision to choose what type of mount: head mount vs chest mount. It's a defining factor of the footage and there's no perfect solution. I chose chest and I've stuck with that but a lot more people like head mount. Pick up a few batteries and that's pretty much all you need. Start fishing and catching!

Love this place, such a lovely spot for a picnic or a fish. Further up stream there is a cracka jump rock. If ya know, ya know ;) didnt even know you could get to the other side on foot
You're closer to the trust than you know haha. I'm surprised I survived down that way, pretty sure I slipped a few times and got lost a bunch of times too trying to figure out exactly where I was going

Seen them on mad discount at bcf like a month ago, got a couple of them just coz the price was amazing. Ill have to give them a swim when i get back to salt water
