I have used Temu numerous times and had great experiences. If you are buying from China anyway, why pay a middle man. Make sure to look at the dimensions of product as the photos are not to scale.I use a bar of soap to lubricate all my telescope or two piece rods. You will find that line really blends in well with the water.
I have recieved everything I bought on Temu, most of it was exactly as I expected, some high quality, some pretty shitty but was super cheaply priced. Main thing is I got it all. not like Ali-express where you dont recieve it.
I spent a little chunk of change with Temu playing a "rods and reels for everyone!" game to introduce some family members to fishing. You really need to do a video on the micro crankbaits that are only about one inch long. I think i paid like $5 for a 10-pack! Those little suckers catch EVERYTHING. All members of the bass family, slab crappie and bluegill, channel cats, drum, wallies. You name it.
Temu has some good stuff at great prices and the service is excellent. I buy from them and have never been disappointed. I'm an old man and I feel like a little kid at Christmas time when I get a package in the mail.
I love the Sougayilang 2000 reals with 2lb or 4lb line on them, they are amazing for the price and because the spools are longer, they spread the line out more so that the line twist is not as bad!
Agree take a sougaykang and use diawa grease 1000 drags under the spool that makes them smooth I have ultegra penn and Abu Zata and the 2500 sougaylang has a smother drag I’ve caught 8 lb strippers And that little reel w power handle and knob does a great job. 20$ reel I put 10. Lb braid on it and even in shore red drum fishing
I ordered three of the Sougayilang reels and I love them. They are all very smooth and cast great. I've got some expensive reels so I know what a good reel should feel like. They are a great buy for the money. By the way I'm seventy five and have been fishing since I could walk. My wife says if I'm not fishing I'm thinking about fishing, so I think I know what I'm talking about.
Temu is not a bad place but you really have to be choosy what you buy from them . I just bought a fishing backpack/sling to set up for ultra light bank fishing and the quality of the bag including the zippers and how smoothly they operated totally exceeded my expectations and was much cheaper than an equivalent also made in China option from someplace like Amazon. I have ordered from them multiple times along multiple categories and have always been satisfied with what I received for the dollars spent and have always gotten my order way quicker than what their initial date was of my order to arrive.
Dude I got same minnows you. Got And works so great ... Tha whiteones are luminescents... And the black backbones work great I got some nice basses on my channel recently caught on that minnow's..... The line temu sale. I been heard it's not work too good in light diameters.... But almost everything works so great when come from temu...and it's not expensive as the recognized brands......🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great reels. Always remember to oil reels out the box. I have that telescopic rod. You have to turn it to get it unstuck. I caught an 8lb salmon on mine. I own mostly Sougayilang reels and no problems so far.
I have bought a lot of tackle on Temu such as wopper ploppers, hooks, braid, etc. I must say that i caught a nice 5 pound bass on a wopper plopper but had to change the hooks (poor quality). The braid i bought was 50m 40lb grey and it is properly strong. I live in South Africa and the private farm dams i fish in has a LOT of grass so you need strong line. Biggest fish caught on the braid was 8.25 pounds. Temu's products are VERY cheap compared to the stores we have so i agree with you that it is not unethical to buy from someone who cut the middleman out fir us.
I use a "line spooler" gizmo similar to the the one illustrated, but I attach mine to a slim broom handle, and tape on a cheap and nasty adjustable reel seat (butcher's tape is good) so that I don't damage a fishing rod by over or under tightening it.
Hi, 😀🎣I'm Paul and I want to congratulate you on your purchase and want to share with you that I too have made several purchases from Temu. I Lost all my gear in a storage container when I got sick and stumbled onto Temu, and have since then; replaced all my gear plus🖒🖒🖒. You'll want to get more lures and line at a much lower price than BPS😉. BE safe out there and God Bless always, Amen.
Good video man I also have the thing to put line on. I don’t know if you have found out yet but the bevel piece where the thumb screw is will unscrew and theres a spring to hold tension on spool.
Last fish was a 13in black crappie. Me and the boys love catching a mess of em at our campground in Central Indiana. Nothing like pulling slabs on a light action tackle...perfect time of the year for crappie over the fire with some morel mushrooms 😊😊😊 FISH ON!!!
Yes. I clip mine further up the rod so the line passes through at least one or two eyes. Putting some foam or felt rings between the nut and the spool will help put eve attention on the spool without having to hold the line.
Great reviews! The line isn't going on the spinning reel properly. It should come off the spool and go onto the reel in the same orientation to avoid twisting. The tool should work well on baitcasting reels though.
for those of you who float or bobber fish as I think yous call it, float stops / bobber stops they set you back maybe 3-4 quid for a pack of 20 here. But you can buy the knockoffs 600 for around the same price. Much better value! And they work well. Not tried anything else though
I shop at TEMU and all I got is at least one third of the price sport stores sell and the quality of the products they sell is much improved from China's stuff of 4 or 5 years ago. The shipping is fast , mostly under 2 weeks. The last thing I bought is a Fly reel Sougayilang ($25 US) that beat the Orvis reel quality that I have that did cost me over $100.00. Take care and keep on fishing.
Hey buddy old pal on that fishing pole you have to push it down and at the same time turn it to the left or right to get it to go back down because I got the same pole and I had to figure it out and that is how it works 😊
Ok I might order the cheap red and white line holder doohickey. I like it. I bought an Ozark Trail telescopic fishing rod and reel combo and it was very similar to your Temu telescopic rod.
I ordered lots of stuff from them 90% of the stuff is pretty good but you got to watch the metric system sometimes you buy stuff and find out it's really tiny when you get it so check your measurements before you order , great video tho and thanks for sharing, I'll keep watching your videos.
if you have rod section stuck two ways i use 1 gently heat non flame say hair dryer second was is tap all around edge then twist in oppisite directions, also lots lines do diameter instead lbs it stupid as lines getting stronger
I don't mind waiting a week for cheap fishing tackle that I'm going to lose anyway. I love my $16 graphite flyrod; would cost over $2oo. here in the states.
I think you did a suppurb job on everything in the video. Including presentation and I wouldnt nessissarrily care if its cheap. As long as it performs ok is what matters to me. Stay safe, blessings, cheers. 😊
I have a telescopic rod that is great. It's a Souigayalang ? Their reels are good too. I've had it for a few years now. It was from Amazon . I think it was $20. I need to try Temu . I had a couple of light Souigaylang reels when I got into ultralight fishing for trout or bluegill. They are going still after 8 yrs . Of course I bought better reels since , but one of them still goes wherever the telescopic rod does.
Better equipment usually helps in a smoother and sometimes more satisfying or even less stressful and possibly more successful fishing experience. In all honesty, a fish can be caught on a hand-held line with no rod or reel. Everything introduced into the gear ensemble is there to make catching fish easier and more pleasurable. I have some fairly nice equipment but nothing extravagant. I feel just like any sport, there are casual participants, professionals, semi-pros, and upper-scale amateurs who either feel they to spend a fortune on gear to catch fish, have cash burning a hole in their pocket, or are just plain snobs about high-end gear who just need an excuse to look down their noses at the rest of us just out there having fun with what we can afford. I have some Temu gear and I am fairly satisfied with it. Because of the horrific price of fishing equipment even before post-Covid prices, I have been planning to start making content on making one’s own lures, tying one’s own flies, building one’s own fishing and boating equipment, and more. I think the angler is getting pocket raped for what should be a pleasant, low-cost, stress-relieving hobby. Thank you for posting your review on one possible solution to what is quickly becoming a highly overpriced hobby. It ought not to be that way. It never used to be.
Thank you very much! I think you're right, fishing is whatever you want it to be, whether that's a high-end setup or just drowning worms off a dock and that's the beautiful thing about it.
@@dansmidwestangling Thank you. I'll try some. It's just some of the Temu reviews say the 30 pound breaks at less than 20, but for their price it's worth a shot.
I bought a "combo" rod and real from Temu a couple of years ago and keep it under the back seat of my truck, just in case I come across one of those rare moments when I used to say "damn I wish I had my pole with me" I paid under 7 dollars for a Rod and Reel" You've got to take into consideration the cost and say "what the hell?" That's the cost of a fancy coffee!
I bought six of those brand name reels for 20.00 15 ball-bearing . When click the bail over, there is no play in the handle I really like them. I have bought from there bargain page two months later i am still waiting. But i also bought a lot of stuff that does not work, but they are good about returns.
The Sougaylong reels are about as good as the Kastking ones. That is, they're smooth for the first few times, and then they get progressively worse after each use.
One of the best things about Temu is that you order it and it takes two weeks to come in and like you said, you forget what you ordered. So when you open the package, it’s like opening a Christmas present. It’s a big surprise!
The biggest problem in most every industry is even though I like doing business with American companies. All of their stuff is still manufactured in China, so what difference does it make? I wish that weren’t true and we had more American made manufacturing in the fishing industry. It’s kind of sad that we’ve all sold out to the Chinese. And it’s not really us as the consumers that have done it, but it’s major corporations that have done it and forced us to buy their stuff be cause there’s no other choice. One company I really like is Z man Baits and they have a big distribution center right here where I live so that does provide quite a few American jobs. Not sure about their manufacturing.
I always keep 2x telescopic rods under the seat of my truck for just in case. Those rods break easy when you hook to something big'ish. So always keep a backup. They're cheap. You sacrifice durability for the convenience of a small enough rig that fits under the seat.
...just for s&gs I purchased a bait caster and rod. The quality of the bait caster was terrible and the 1pc rod was actually 3pcs. BTW, you don't have to set up an account, that's how your info gets spread around!
WD 40 on the rod before you extend the pole into position. It will come apart better. My father used to use facial oil by spinning the metal inserts around the outside of his nose. A 2 piece rod would then come apart easier..
I bought 2 reels for my kids off Temu after my gear was stolen. They don't oil and grease the reels before they sell them. Bail wouldn't shut when you turned the handle. I greased and oiled them. One of them works.
I purchased Dovesun weighted hooks and jig heads from them. I think they're just fine. I surf fish, and so long as you rinse then afterwards, they won't rust. I have yet to try their braided line, and i might just buy a 150m spool of their x16 25lb braid. If anyone has tried it, please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
Heheh, the famous, "whip it out" telescopic rod style. I was blessed to learn not to do that when I was young on a cheap rod. Shaving your hand (skin off) on the next piece, to close your rod at the end of a long, bad session is never fun.
The line spooler works great if you use it correctly... You figured out how to attach it to your rod, but the threaded screw handle piece is only "STORED" in the end of the tool...proper use will have it inserted through the spool, deep or thin, then into the SIDE hole - one is threaded, the other is not - go through the none threaded hole and then thread into the threaded side - this will allow you to add as much or as little tension to the line as you want....It's not rocket science...or maybe it is in Minnesota....
I said this in the video, Jerry. I'm certainly not a rocket scientist, but I'd definitely watch an entire video before I made an ass of myself in the comments section.
@marcbeebee6969 I've heard of the pineapple, but never the black ring. Even if that is a thing here, which I'm calling shenanigans on, watch the video again. My ring is green lol
G'Day,,Not sure about "Temu",But have been buying from china for a long time and agree, these all made by the same people,,But the mark up when brought to australia,is ridiculous.i mean get a couple of hundred for $3 and here in auz they charge $3 just for ten,, as far the reels, have a couple and so far so good, but when disassybled find some plastic gears in side,,but ifin you treat it for what it is,,they will work well,I men paid big Bucks for a reel made in canada,,and Broke the the up and down function with a big fish on, so the cheaper the better,I do find a lot of these reels have far excess ball bearing in them and think they just stick them in so as to brag 14 plus bearings,Brought a couple of rods, the tele scopic ones are alway trouble with the jionts and line runners come off,,and usually made for egg beaters, as the rod curve when loaded using an overhead reel, line rubs on glass when loaded..But have a couple i keep in the boot,(trunk),just in case i decide i want to wet a line,,
Shopping at Temu is no different than shopping at Walmart for the same imports from China. Even the big-name brands manufacture their gear in the far east. When your shopping in person you can pass on the junk easy. My experience with Temu is to avoid the don't really need ancillary items, like the cheap glitzy gadgets like hook removers etc. The rods and reels offered are really a good bang for the buck for sweet water pond fishing. I do get the impressions that most of their offering are not saltwater worthy.
You still had the line spooler way too loose. I've got one, and it works if you set the tension better. You shouldn't have line flopping around like that as you wind.
That was too funny when you opened it like a light saber. I yelled "nooo" at the the video. I did that when I was a kid and wrecked a collapsible rod. very glad that you are teaching the youth of today not to do that.
I have had no fishing equipment that has worked for me as far as Red Drum. Swivels , hooks and leaders have not held against fighting the Big Red Drums.
This was a good video, but for the love of god man there is an R in the English language!😂 Also the the company with the long S... name that made the reels is actually a really popular budget rod and reel company and they do make some pretty decent stuff for the money. I have a few things from them that I've gotten from the Amazon Vine program and it has all worked pretty good.
@DorianDavisddd I'm from Maine originally, but I've lived in Wisconsin for 11 years. I've only filmed one video outside of Wisconsin to date, so that's why it's Midwest Angling even though I'm not a midwesterner. It's a common point of confusion believe it or not 🤣
I bought some of the fishing items and was disappointed with what I received. The pictures on line showed good sized hooks, when I got them they were minnow sized. Won't buy them again. I ordered a shimano reel and received a crappy plastic reel with line on it already. Some of the baits I ordered the biggest size they had and looks like they will work for the bass. Be careful what you order. Some items I will not order again. The weights I would order again. Some of my orders were lost in transit so I canceled the order and got a refund.

You're right, but God, that sounds awful. Thanks for the reminder that I need to keep doing what I'm doing and enjoy myself along the way 👍
The only thing I don’t like about Temu is every time you go to buy something the minimum price to purchase something keeps going up.
I have used Temu numerous times and had great experiences. If you are buying from China anyway, why pay a middle man. Make sure to look at the dimensions of product as the photos are not to scale.I use a bar of soap to lubricate all my telescope or two piece rods. Temu is bad for the US economy
I love the Sougayilang 2000 reals with 2lb or 4lb line on them, they are amazing for the price and because the spools are longer, they spread the line out more so that the line twist is not as bad!
You are right the Sougayilang reels are good reels I have several I wanted to try and they have been working great.

The Colour of the Line will change when it's in the water, & yes we do Diameter and Breaking Strain here in the UK, it states both on the spool.
I ordered three of the Sougayilang reels and I love them. They are all very smooth and cast great. I've got some expensive reels so I know what a good reel should feel like. They are a great buy for the money. By the way I'm seventy five and have been fishing since I could walk. If I wanted that crap I'd go to wal mart.
@jameskimejr9062 except walmart probably got that stuff from the same place temu sources it
Holy crap it's Danny! Howdy back from the Northeast lol. The bleeping is great lmao.
Thanks guy 🤣
Temu is not a bad place but you really have to be choosy what you buy from them .
I just bought a fishing backpack/sling to set up for ultra light bank fishing and the quality of the bag including the zippers and how smoothly they operated totally exceeded my expectations and was much cheaper than an equivalent also made in China option from someplace like Amazon.
I have ordered from them multiple times along multiple categories and have always been satisfied with what I received for the dollars spent and have always gotten my order way quicker than what their initial date was of my order to arrive.
Dude I got same minnows you. Got
And works so great ...
Ive been importing their reels for a couple of years and so far I haven't had any issues
Where do you think shimano and daiwa have their parts made 🤔
Even a bad day of fishing is better than any day at work !! 👍
As the saying goes, the worst day fishing is better than the best day working!
On the spooler tool if you unscrew the cap on the bolt it has a built in spring that tensions your line.
Temu braid is genuinely underrated. It was too cheap not to try it, it's been six months and still going strong and that's using it sea fishing
The only issue i had is that my hands turned blue from the dye , other then that i use it for beach fishing going pretty well
I’ve had really good experiences with the brand on Temu named Goture
Great reels. Always remember to oil reels out the box. I have that telescopic rod. You have to turn it to get it unstuck. I caught an 8lb salmon on mine. I own mostly Sougayilang reels and no problems so far.

I think the telescopic rod works best when you actually make the sound of a lightsaber when you open and close it.
Hahaha 😂

Expendedables like line and terminal tackle have been great from Temu.

If you feed the line through one of the loops of the pole, it would put proper tension on the line.
Yes. I clip mine further up the rod so the line passes through at least one or two eyes. Putting some foam or felt rings between the nut and the spool will help put eve attention on the spool without having to hold the line.
Well, I'm waiting for my first Temu delivery so your video was timely. Love your sense of humour man! And hello to you from Ireland....

Great vid, the spool was the wrong way around on the winder. Run the line from the bottom of the spool to the reel....cheers
Tap on the tip with something light and spray a lil WD or silicone on it
temu sells mass produced white label products, vendors like Walmart buys them and add a bit more stuff to make it look like they made it
To be honest the stuff you get off Temu they sell double or triple on Amazon.
The walleye singing was hilarious
I've been waiting for a chance to bust that one out

Sougayilang has been a main supplier of outdoor fishing tackle established in 1988.
They aren't a nameless company except here in the States

@@dansmidwestangling I had a collapsible rod that didn't survive me trying to collapse it... So at least yours made it to the water 😂
You didn't do a break strength test of the line. I want to try some Temu braid, but worried it will be craptastic.

WD 40 on the rod before you extend the pole into position. It will come apart better. My father used to use facial oil by spinning the metal inserts around the outside of his nose. A 2 piece rod would then come apart easier..
Been doing the same trick for ages and it does help a lot on 2 or 3 pieces rods.
Nice video. I am planning a Temu video for my channel.
I bought 2 reels for my kids off Temu after my gear was stolen. They don't oil and grease the reels before they sell them. Bail wouldn't shut when you turned the handle. I greased and oiled them. One of them works.
Read reviews and get the ones highly rated
I purchased Dovesun weighted hooks and jig heads from them. I think they're just fine. I surf fish, and so long as you rinse then afterwards, they won't rust. I have yet to try their braided line, and i might just buy a 150m spool of their x16 25lb braid. If anyone has tried it, please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
Looks like they took the liberty of matching the line (color) to the rod you bought....FishOn.....Jim
It's got a stash spot for spliff! 😅
Heheh, the famous, "whip it out" telescopic rod style. I was blessed to learn not to do that when I was young on a cheap rod. Shaving your hand (skin off) on the next piece, to close your rod at the end of a long, bad session is never fun.
I did exactly the same thing the first time using telescopic rod, by flicking it and the blanks got stuck. It was a Shimano Eclipse telescopic rod.
I’ve ordered a few carbon fiber telescopic rods. Excellent for the price.
Burrrrrrnnnnnnnn
Danny boy already catchin some bass out of the boat up here
That sougayilang reel is also sold at bass pro shops!!!! Fyi
Not for $9
men doing Temu revel brilliant new sub!
Is that a weather loach going up and down the corner of your aquarium?
Almost haha, black Kuhlis.
Your "maybe I shouldn't have opened it like a f ...en lightsaber" made me subscribe. Great video brother. Lmao
I had the same issue with the rod. You have to bang the bottom of it on the floor with the b
Thank you 👍
It string goss on the side my first real was crap I had to take it apart and try to fix and broke. And there 13:29 no place to return it
Great video im wondering about the baitcasters
Here in germany a black ring is a swinger. Same in usa ?
@marcbeebee6969 dude what 🤣🤣🤣
@@dansmidwestangling 🤣 i am serious. That and the pineapple.
I checked you tube. Same in usa. Youu naughty man 😄
@marcbeebee6969 I've heard of the pineapple, but never the black ring. Even if that is a thing here, which I'm calling shenanigans on, watch the video again. My ring is green lol
@@dansmidwestangling green. O no anothwr dimension. What does green stand for
Did they have bait casters ?
Yes
I use carp hair rigs there ok no problems with em I don’t by anything else
I have the line feeder you have and you have it hooked up.wrong... you feed the screw through that top hole with the spool beneath it.
G'Day,,Not sure about "Temu",But have been buying from china for a long time and agree, these all made by the same people,,But the mark up when brought to australia,is ridiculous.i mean get a couple of hundred for $3 and here in auz they charge $3 just for ten,,
as far the reels, have a couple and so far so good, but when disassybled find some plastic gears in side,,but ifin you treat it for what it is,,they will work well,I men paid big Bucks for a reel made in canada,,and Broke the the up and down function with a big fish on, so the cheaper the better,I do find a lot of these reels have far excess ball bearing in them and think they just stick them in so as to brag 14 plus bearings,Brought a couple of rods, the tele scopic ones are alway trouble with the jionts and line runners come off,,and usually made for egg beaters, as the rod curve when loaded using an overhead reel, line rubs on glass when loaded..But have a couple i keep in the boot,(trunk),just in case i decide i want to wet a line,,
I did this when I bought my boat just went crazy and got 200$ worth of stuff and 90 percent of it was awsome and we still use it all
I've only ever had one thing that was junk from them and honestly I was asking for it... it was a $3 watch 😂
Lmao ya need like about a 1000 reel for the telescoping rod
The reason the rod jammed was because you should had pulled the section out one by one. Not flick it out. Lol hope that helps. ROGER
I have had no fishing equipment that has worked for me as far as Red Drum. Swivels , hooks and leaders have not held against fighting the Big Red Drums.
Greetings coming from Indonesia priv. Maluku Aru Islands Greetings fellow anglers
It’s just when your inside 😊
This was a good video, but for the love of god man there is an R in the English language!😂 Also the the company with the long S... name that made the reels is actually a really popular budget rod and reel company and they do make some pretty decent stuff for the money. I have a few things from them that I've gotten from the Amazon Vine program and it has all worked pretty good.
I was able to stock my tacklebox using Temu at a fraction of the cost of what it would cost me elsewhere. Their swim baits are great! ❤
Great video!
How do you pay TEMU without giving access to your credit card?
You should be able to use a prepaid visa card
PayPal is what I use
Are you from the East coast or Midwest? I can’t place your accent. Walleye are Midwest right?
I’m from Alabama
Never knew Bill Burr did fishing gear reviews...
Lures are best value shopping at temu
They have good Bait casters. Not a spinner fan.
Ive gotten several orders from them, only didn't like 1 item
The colour of the line is meant to perfectly match the colour of the water in China XD
Temu braid is fantastic and very cheap
