  • THIS VIDEO WILL NOT HELP YOU
    AC and Engine Temp gauge don't work on the Pontiac G6 GT 3.5L. You need to replace the thermostat, but it isn't easy and it sucks to do.
    this video probably won't help you. Do us all a favor...if you get butt hurt over it....move on.
    oh and just a side note always remember....no one cares about your opinion :)

    Hello everyone.. the best way to change a thermostat on the Pontiac G6 is to remove the passenger side headlight assembly and look down and you will see hoses coming from your radiator going into your engine block.
    I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 GT and I have changed my own.. this was the easiest way to change it. The bolts are 2 10mm.
    You do not have to remove any hoses from the thermostat housing, just take it loose and pull it aside and replace the thermostat.
    I hope everyone understands what I'm saying.. I hope I didn't confuse anyone.

    The 4 cylinder is a breeze, just make sure you have anti freeze and a oil pan under the car. You will spill out about 3/4 a gallon. Fixed the no heat problem though

    I'd say the engineers that designed it are pretty damn smart because my 2008 Pontiac g6 gt is by far one of the most reliable cars I've ever had, driven, or seen. Not to mention it really hits the performance standard and the only time I really ever started to have problems with it was when i hooped a curve drifting like an idiot and that's after all of the shit my mom put it through

      Greentreewaterfall it's not a bad car at all. Working on em can be pretty frustrating when parts start breaking. This car had quite a few miles on it so stuff started to wear out.

    If anyone out there can't do this job yourself you have problems this is a easy take off air hose take off upper radiator hose, two bolts takes off bottom radiator hose housing put in new stat refill coolant done you'll thank me for it

    What if your a.c. still blows cold but the temp gauage works intermittently?

    • @yourbestfrienddave
      @yourbestfrienddave  5 років тому

      Probably a problem with the gauge or the sensor feeding the gauge.

    • @buddmann2008
      @buddmann2008 5 років тому

      The thermostat has NO electrical connections to anything so it could never take out the AC nor temperature gauge. He has another problem that I also had- his coolant temperature sensor is bad or its connection is bad.

    Video sucks we're here because we all show the same error. The 2006 Pontiac G6 3.5 thermostat is on the right side between the battery box cover and the engine shroud cover just below the throttle body. I know just changed one 12/31/17. Remove the air vent hose from both ends take the two 10 mm screws out, about one(1) gallon size of DEXCOOL will drain, change thermostat replace frest DEXCOOL 50/50. Good luck.

      @patricklangley9900 5 років тому

      Just F.Y.I. Thermostat is located on the right or passenger side exactly where the videos show. The heat sensor for the dash panel gauge is what you changed on the Left side or "driver side" below throttle body on the engine (the side where the airbox is.)

    • @nick2cool1
      @nick2cool1 5 років тому

      Yeah, the thermostat on my 3.5 v6 is where it is shown in the video, and the coolant temperature sensor is where you're describing. You're giving out false information and saying the video sucks because of it.

    (TAKE THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT OFF) For easy access, All you need is a 10mm (long) socket. Do not pay for this job! I did it with 0% mechanical experience.
