- After a summer’s worth of work, it is finally here! The solo harpsichord concert of the Main Line Baroque Society. Today's concert features solo harpsichord works, from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Toccatas, George Frideric Handel’s “Great Suites”, and Jean Phillippe Rameau's Suites.

ABOUT THE SOLOIST:
Torsten Fras is a harpsichordist born in 2007. He started learning piano when he was five, and started learning harpsichord when he was eleven, studying under the guidance of Dr. Anna Kislitsyna at the Nelly Berman School of Music. Since then, he has been awarded a variety of prizes from a number of competitions including From The Top, the Boulder Bach Society’s World Bach Competition, the Cadenza Contest, the French International Music Competition, the Canadian International Music Competition, the Odin Competition, the Musicale Beethoven Competition, Kings Peak International Music Competition, Charleston International Music Competition, the Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition, and the Rocky Mountain International Competition. He has attended various masterclasses given by Catalina Vicens at Brandywine Baroque, Arthur Haas at Amherst Early Music Festival, and Joseph Gascho at the University of Michigan Early Keyboard Institute. In addition to this, he has founded the Main Line Baroque Society. He resides in Pennsylvania with his family.

The Main Line Baroque Society was formed in May of 2021 by Torsten Fras, and their first concert was a collaboration between keyboard and voice, featuring Marina Voznaya, Anna Kislitsyna, Isa Matuch, and Torsten Fras. The purpose of the Society is to share the beauty of Baroque Music with other people near and far.

This concert has been perfomed on a 1981 Double Manual Harpsichord, made by Hendrik Broekman in Boston.
