A Holiday Whimsy! Skating - Vince Guaraldi
In honor of the winter holidays, I decided to play something a bit different! After experimenting a bit with jazz and listening to the Charlie Brown Christmas Album, I thought, wouldn't it be interesting to play Skating? I ran into a slight problem when it was difficult to arrange the piece for the harpsichord due to the differences (lack of dynamics and sustaining pedal), so this was quite a c...

Domenico Scarlatti - Sonata in A Minor K175 - Torsten Fras

Because there is always room for reconsideration, I wanted to approach this piece again from a new perspective. Here is (for me) a new interpretation of this wonderful work. This was a great exercise for me, teaching me that the genius of Scarlatti is revealed in the different approaches and interpretations possible of his many jewel-like compositions. So, here is a new version of K175!

Bravo <3
Bach es el mejor de todos!!!
Beautiful performance! I love your tempo.
The trills are too slow.
Thanks for this; it’s brightened up my Saturday. Bach is so easy to get lost in. Excellent performance. You’re a true genius
Pretty bloody amazing! And from memory too…
Felicidades
👌👌👍👍👍superbly played. So i now want to hear you doing all The Scarlatti Sonates. So you have still 559 to record…😃👌👌👍👍
c'est bien
F minor = my personal favorite key. Scarlatti = my personal favorite Baroque sonata composer. Harpsichord = my personal favorite keyboard instrument. And now I can say, YOU are my new personal favorite performer of Scarlatti's incredible binary Sonatas. Very vivacious performance, with just a touch of that hesitation as you crawl towards the climax. The second time around, there's only a slight difference, but it seems to build up to an energetic ending and a beautiful stamp on the ending bar. Great little run through, I look forward to checking out the rest of your playing!

Really enjoyed your playing and interpretation. I play this on piano but it sounds better on a harpsichord I think...oh...I can't play the fugue well...
👍👏👏
amazing! reminds me of alessandro scarlatti’s secular cantatas.

Satisfying.
Danke, ich habe immer wieder geschaut, wann du wieder etwas postest.😂
Entschuldigung, ich war in letzter Zeit beschäftigt!
@@TorstenHarpsichord Keine Entschuldigung, bitte.
Wow great! A tip for amateurs harpsichordist : start with K555, even if you are not too good, people will assume you have worked you way through all of Scarlatti. 😉
Bravo! Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
Wonderful performance and what a beautiful instrument.
Thank you, Torsten!❤ It's one of the most beautiful and grandiose performing I heard before! You are really Master of the Barocco music!🤗
wow, this came up in my recommendations and I am so glad.. This is otherworldly, in the best way ^_^
I am happy to see it produce beautiful music. Bravo!
So crisp.
Nice job, Torsten! I remember moving that harpsichord with the dealer that sold it a few years ago, back when I was 12!
That's really interesting!
How much can you buy a harpsichord for these days?
many thousands of dollars...
A good franco-flemish double would start around 18,000$ I guess, and for a fine copy of particular historical models it can go wayyyyy up.
@@francoisbruel9163a decent Hubbard double can be had for much less than $18,000. At least… here in the United States. Also, I would say not everyone needs a somewhat useless French double.
@@fluffkitten4339 we actually agree, as I was talking about instruments in the same class as the one shown in this video, which is not "decent" but concert-level. And yes, I personally don't need a double…
A superb performance Torsten, bravo!
Very nice! ❤
What a performance!
Excellent! Thank you for posting.
Remarkable. Ty Torsten. Where is that instrument BTW? Looks amazing!
I moved this harpsichord a few years ago, back when it was in Stanford California. It is supposedly the first 17th century French style harpsichord made on the west coast, more specifically California, by Ronald Haas. It was used by Leonhardt for a masterclass in Berkeley many moons ago.
Very nice👌
Bravoo, you are one of the best performer of this fuga🎉
One of my favourite preludes and fugues from Bach's WTC
❤👋👋 bravo !
Bravo!❤️
Fantastic! There are many performances of this piece that are almost unmusically fast. Your tempo and rhythm choices tell a beautiful story. Thanks for the recent uploads -- always excited to see and hear what you play for us.
I prefer more trills 6+
Great performance, as always (and donated).
not a bad days workout for the fingers! :3
that was quite a performance dude!! you could probably rival both scarlattis :P
