Nothing better than fishing for trout on rivers and streams. I always do well with Panther Martins and Blue Fox lures...1/8 and 1/4 ounce depending on several variables. SO much fun. Great job my friend.
James I Neutron yeah man for deep holes it’s a must. It does get stuck a lot more though so just keep that in mind when you switch 😂 you may lose a few before you get used to it! And thanks for the sub man!! It means a lot. Tight lines!
you just described me at 7:30: a bass fisherman that is going to try to catch a trout. None of these steams nearby in Huntington so I'm gonna gas up the truck soon and try my spinning reel/spinner.
@@hardmanfishing That sounds cool, so you have both a spinner and trailing on a leader you have a fly at the top? Is that correct? I just found some awesome Public Access spots, gonna try for my first time next week!
U can take out the spool, run hot water in a cup, put the spool of line in the cup for about 1 minute (not boiled water) that erases the memory line -twist- 👍
stevenolmstead Let me help y’all out. Try Sunline Sniper 4-5lb. It’s strong and has the least amount of memory compared to the other brands. (I even caught a 3lbs largemouth bass on the 5lbs Sniper lol)
Maybe you can educate me... why are you casting UP stream then reeling back down? Why wouldnt you cast across, let it drift down while reeling in? I dont ask from experience, just thinking out loud so to speak and curious. Thanks...
I believe I went over it in the video but I could be wrong, it’s been a while since I put this one out. But fish position themselves looking up stream because food is naturally presented drifting down the current. Without getting into too much detail it is a more realistic presentation. An injured baitfish or bug usually can’t swim up the current. Both ways do work but it just depends on where you’re fishing, the species, and the fishing pressure.
Razvan Stefan depends on where you’re fishing. For me it doesn’t matter as much because the fish aren’t as pressured. I use 6 pound test or even 8 pound test without issue. I know some people who won’t use over 4 though.
Hardman Fishing Adventures alright thanks, i use 8 pound leader FC (somewhere between 1-1.5m) and main line is like 10 pounds. No trout so far, but i had visual contact even 2 strikes but didn’t landed any. It was cool for my first trout fishing experience on a spinning combo
Love the video I've watched all your newer videos and now looking back at some of your older ones and it's cool y'all should still do some spinner fishing in your newer videos to I fly fish spinner fish bait fish whatever the fish want to bite and yall do a great job on your videos
its crazy to see such big healthy trout without all the scars from birds, turtles and other fish. out here in this area the stockers get caught by birds not fishermen.
@@listenmyfriendfranklin6325 las vegas. the cormorants migrate up thru new mexico and just devastate any stocked ponds and the northern streams. they are a huge issue in utah as well.
The Grasseater nope! I’d rather my bait look as natural as possible. The spinners will twist your line up a bit but it’s never been that bad that I couldn’t fish.
@@hardmanfishing wow most inline spinners do need that unless that have a slight bend in the shank in front of the eye. Also, when fighting trout and they do that spin they do, the swivel doesnt allow any leverage on the hook, resulting in fewer lost fish.
@@joeschatz6617 well if you're fishing for freshly stocked trout then I agree that using a swivel might make things easier. I just don't usually do that. I need the bait to look as natural as possible and I'm not sure that I've ever lost a fish from line twist. If it works for you then more power to ya!
Hardman Fishing Adventures, have genuinely enjoyed your vids-nice job on the production, fishing and content. Had a quick question for you. Am going to try your suggestion of picking up a spinning rod. Will be a nice break when not hitting flies. What length ultralight would you recommend for northeastern/mid Atlantic streams and creeks? Was considering either 5ft or 6ft, but would value your opinion. Thank you...and keep up the great work on the content.
Do you experience "lure fatigue" where the trout get tired of seeing the same spinner bait and as soon as you switch to a different lure you get an instant bite?
Benjamin Dippenaar I fish all over the place man! Mostly in WV. But I don’t give away these creeks to everybody who asks or I wouldn’t catch these fish. I hope you understand! Tight lines
I've tried Jerry's flies and the few I used didn't spin consistently and the flies didn't look as good. They're literally the same thing any way, even if jerry's flies did work all of the time! I just like using Colorado bladed spinners.
Well I know for a fact that those trout are stocked. Not saying its IMPOSSIBLE for it to be wild but it is not known to have reproduction. Also a wild rainbow that large would be impressive for the area. I'd guess multiyear holdover
love to see you catching fish what I don't like is you throwing back edible fish once you catch it if it's legal it should be taking it eating not played with for your sport Indian Joe
Yeah kill a nice fish just so you can eat. Great idea Joe.. You should let them go so they can be caught again! If you want to eat it go for it but I'm not sure what you think "playing" with a trout is. Relax dude
Those 1/4 oz joes flys spinners are unbeatable no doubt. Samon eggs and those spinners are all i ever use for trout catch plenty every time
Do you mean that you put salmon eggs onto your spinner?
Heck yeah!! I’ve put rooster tail and on the hook i had powerbait or fireballs bait on it and caught bunch of trout
Gotta tell ya that that monster hole with the little waterfall above looks like a picture postcard. Beautiful area. Very nice vid 😁
Thanks man!!

That has to be one of the best release of fish I've seen in a while. Thank you.
It's been many years since I fished creeks (just boat trolling) watching this video makes me want makes me want to get back to it.
I like the way you keep the fish in the Net
Trout are very delicate fish, so you kinda have to if you're planning on releasing them.
Great video. I enjoyed it! Just spent all afternoon catching rainbow, and now watched your whole video lol!
Thank you for watching!!
Love the trout on spinners on them small rivers 👍
Glad you liked the video!
Nice trout fishing video even if it is on stocked fish still looked like Alot of fun.thamis for sharing 😃👌👍
Looks like peaceful place to fish
I usually fish on downstream but i do recognize the place. Helped put some fingerlings in there.
What size spinner are you using? I'm using 1/8 oz and think I can go up to 1/4 oz but I'm not sure.
I use 1/4, it's by far my favorite just due to the fact I can get it down to the fish easier.
@@hardmanfishing That was my reasoning, alot of deep holes in the creeks I fish. Thanks man! BTW just subscribed to you...quality videos bro.

Nice fish at 2:38 in. Got to love spinners

They clip the fins if its a stocked fish and are a little different color if its not stocked really nice fish
Beautiful trout, nicely done man.

Thanks alot for the tips and great video! Really nice size rainbow's too!👌👊

Beautiful, healthy fish! Hoping to try for some of those this October.

What’s your preferred rod length and power for creek trout?
I am new to trout fishing, you can use a fly fishing lure on a spinner pole?
This was not a fly.. It was a spinner. It only had a fly as a trailer to the actual spinner. Kind of like the best of both worlds.

sweet rainbow
If you need to find new ways to catch trout, experiment with different combinations that would seem rare but could definitely entice the fish to bite
I think rainbows are beautiful.
I agree! thanks for watching!

Fenwick rod with a president reel is a perfect combo.
Christopher Hitchens it is my favorite combo (as far a spinning rods go for trout) that I’ve ever had.
I see the rod is a fenwick, mind if I ask what model, and action/power you using?
Bobby Dillashaw it is an eagle and it is a 6 foot light.
Do you use a swivel with spinners? If so, how long is your leader? Thanks!
Not usually. But if I do I give it about a foot
How do you keep from getting line twist, especiall when gunning the lure?
