I remember looking at that model about a year ago and the dealer was confused as to why a home owner would want one. He seemed hesitant to give me info and pricing. Great video as always bro! Keep on keeping on!
OMGOSH, you almost had me sold on that mower until you mentioned how heavy it is Lol 😂 it weighs more than Me, I’d certainly get a good work out pushing that thing 🤣🤣, I’ve never seen lawn grow in gutters before like yours Ben 😂😂, how on earth does that happen 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤔🤔🤔..Good Luck on the sale of your home and look forward to future updates as always. Cheers from Janelle, it must be getting pretty Cold 🥶 down there in Orange, you need to move to Sunny Queensland Lol 😂
I was wondering when you’d be giving the ProStripe a crack! I’ve got it’s grandad in my shed, a 1987 Hayter Harrier 48 that needs a bit of TLC before I use it. It lacks the split roller so it will be interesting to manoeuvre but there’s some advantages - height adjust is fully variable between 13-57mm so I can match exactly the cylinder mower HOC and the side belt drive for the roller means a full width chute. Having seen how the ProStripe went, I’m keen to give it a go now. I bought it more or less as an experiment anyway.
yo mate what up nice vid as always ben thats a sick mower for the higher hoc lawns definitely on the wish list haha cant wait to see how the new property is cheers mate
We've been running one for couple years now here in Scotland. Great machine top of its class but yeh its on the heavy side. Can you get access to weibang mowers? We just got the legacy 48pro bbc model. That would suit your lawn perfectly!
Nice content! I have new Bermuda Tiftuf placed 1 month ago in TEXAS and people always say DONT cut until you’re grass is 2 inches or higher. But I want to train mine for 1” and next year lower. What should I do or say? I have a small manual reel mower. And mow 2-3 times a week.
Cool season grass in the Fall. There is nothing better. Nice mower for sure. Might have to check your spreader settings. Seed in the gutter and growing lol 🤣
Hey Mate another quality video !! Just wondering is there a striping attachment you can buy that will attach to say both the Honda 19 and 21 inch decks?? Thx
Insurance won't cover wood or replace wood with steel if they do, a steel fence rusts out and they dont have to pay in 20 years either, as its not storm related just age
Wow, same engine that is on my 30” turfmaster so it doesn’t lack grunt. I guess the pro’s are it cuts low for a modern rotary and you get stripes without the maintenance cost of a cylinder. Cons are like you said mate, heavy and cut quality.
Honda don’t sell those in Australia. The majority of lawns are St Augustine and kikuyu varieties, striping is not a selling point to most people. To my knowledge there’s only two rotary roller mowers like this on the market here, the Toro and a Weibang 48cm which is less than half the cost of the Toro and a better option for the homeowner.
Saw another lawn channel using one the other day then looked at the price and wow they expensive cool unit tho would be interesting to see if it does ok on bumpy surfaces because reels dont, also good job getting the gutter grass🤣🤙
@@LawnTips 🤣🤣🤣 I'm looking at my gutter grass right now on the garage if it wasnt raining here in NZ I might have pulled it out today maybe next weekend 👍
Being a rotary I assume the maintenance is less than a cylinder mower. Thus the cost of upkeep would be lower (pro). But being a rotary the cut of the grass leaf won’t be as clean as a cylinder(con). How does the purchase cost compare to a cylinder mower? So what is the answer to the question of does this hybrid mower ‘replace’ the cylinder mover!
Yep that’s exactly it mate. No where near as much maintenance. It can replace it for sure. Depends on what suits your situation in the end. Very good alternative for someone who doesn’t have the time to doesn’t want to maintain a reel mower and send it away for sharpening etc. Cost wise to purchase its around the same. So it’s not a cheap rotary
Great feedback Ben. Cheers. I suppose the other con is that it’s probably not suited to small spaces or areas with tight turns. Something my yard is/has. Sigh..I need a bigger lawn haha
@@chevron916 yeah I found it a little tight in the small areas of the yard. But I got better as I used it more. Might even be an experience thing 😂 I need to try it again
Are we taking bets on how long it will take for the new house owners kill the grass and will never get it looking at it's best again.. I give them maybe 1 year and that's just them thinking all Ben does is water the lawn to keep it green..
Your first vid is the reason I have stripes. Copied you exactly and my lawn is the best on my street. The simple things make the biggest difference.
Always wanted to try out one of those!
Roz Weston has one and told me nothing but great things on our podcast, he loves it
I’ve never seen gutters grow grass better than most people 😂😂 you could probably sell it as sod at this point.
I love that Wii Shop music at the end! Also excited to see the new place and what you have planned for the new lawn!
If I'm not mistaken Toro own Hayter and this mower is essentially the Harrier 56 Pro which I own and use commercially. Excellent mower.
The missus was wondering what I was watching! Those odd sounds at the end 😂
😂

Looking good! Best of luck on the sale and acquisition of the new property. Can’t wait for the first vid on the new property to drop!!
Nice video. Probably want the upgraded blade for damper conditions. U.K. design and build.
Nice stripes. Your lawn looks crisp.
The lawn looks phenomenal! Watching from NZ
Man that thing stripes up unreal
Classic Aussie dad joke. It wasn’t me, it was the winter grass 🤣
I need this in my life.
Music tastes are just like mine. Love it. Keep pushing herd.
Lawn looks fab Ben ❤️👍
Will be sad to see the old place go my man 😪. But super excited to see what's in store for the new digs 🤙

Did this guy just say “small little backyard”? 🤯🤯🤯
Thats a pretty cool mower there, super excited to see the the new house haha
Cool mower have not seen one in person but looks to do a nice job.

I would love one of these for the spring seedhead flush and to help get more texture from the turf than my reel mower leaves.
Have you tried the weibang roller mower?
Is a double cut just 2 cuts in different directions or are you dropping the height for the second cut?
Double cut in two directions at the same height 👍🏽
Cool season grass in the Fall. There is nothing better. Nice mower for sure. Might have to check your spreader settings. Seed in the gutter and growing lol 🤣
Hey Mate another quality video !! Just wondering is there a striping attachment you can buy that will attach to say both the Honda 19 and 21 inch decks?? Thx
Hey mate, toro does make one and a few other companies as well.
Why are steel fences so popular in AU? Steel posts are catching on here in Canada but rarely a full privacy fence like yours
Insurance won't cover wood or replace wood with steel if they do, a steel fence rusts out and they dont have to pay in 20 years either, as its not storm related just age
Mint stripes too!!
Great video!!
Greetings from the 🇺🇸US🇺🇸
Nice video mate, thank you. What height did you cut at? Looks like notch 2 which is around 19mm. I have a Hayter 41, smaller version of that Toro.
Yep, was 19mm 🤙🏼
@@LawnTips Awesome thanks

Totally agree mate
The cut quality is part of the cons?
@@clement6574 just not as good as a cylinder mower. That’s what Lenny meant 👍🏽
Yeah a rotary gives a rougher cut to the leaf tip so gives that browny bit right on the end of the leaf. A cylinder doesn’t do that. That’s all.
@@LawnTips oh ok, I just purchased that mower but the briggs stratton one from 2014.
Thanks for that super quick answer. Watching from France
I'd love to see you compare one of those to a honda with the rear roller and see which one is better

So its you building this house next to Connor... 😄
I wonder what his neighbors think...
nice mate my grandfather has a cylinder mower not working it needs one part but me and my brother want it so baf
Saw another lawn channel using one the other day then looked at the price and wow they expensive cool unit tho would be interesting to see if it does ok on bumpy surfaces because reels dont, also good job getting the gutter grass🤣🤙
😂 got that grass just for you mate.
Yeah pricey, but a lot less maintenance than a reel if you don’t want to do all the maintenance on those bad boys
@@LawnTips 🤣🤣🤣 I'm looking at my gutter grass right now on the garage if it wasnt raining here in NZ I might have pulled it out today maybe next weekend 👍

Mine wasn’t real though 😂
do you ship primo maxx to the uk all i can find over here is big 5 litre $500 bottles .i dont need 5 litres..i dont own a golf course lol
is it a good mower for scalping?
The best selling tool you'll have to sell your house is "The best lawn in Orange, Guaranteed!"
Haha, would be great if that helped sell it
Helped the sell? It is the sell. You are selling a lawn with a house attached 🤣
For sale: rye lawn. Includes tif tuf putting green and bore pump. Oh and a house or something
Now that’s a sale add I’d click on!
@@cammitchell5049 😂
The end 😂
I’ve always heard the rotaries can’t cut low because they will scalp. What does this mower do differently to allow the low cut?
They can cut low if your lawn is trained a little lower and pretty level. Becomes an issue if you have lots of humps and bumps
That winter grass from the gutter is really noisy - and smelly 🤔🤣😂👍

Does your neighbour own a mower? Damn son, cut the grasss
Will you be trying the front brush attachment?
I use a Honda pro. Easily the best commercial mowers out there. They can take an utter beating and not as heavy at this.
Did the real estate agents still photoshop fake grass into the ad for your house? :)
Its a 22inch hayter in red
For the price they’re asking I’d get a Swardman.
Nothing new, Hayter has been making those for 15+ years. Still love seeing all your vids.
Any luck with them getting you an Allett? Do I need to make another call...?
