Six years later and this aged like a piece of old cheddar - I still love this ad. Gotta revisit from time to time for kicks. First time I ever watched it I thought the Vaporizer circuit was the hottest tone I'd ever heard. And to be honest I still like the sound.
Picked it up for $229 at GC. More useful than my real pawn shop amps and it actually works. My wife even likes it in the living room. Pleasantly surprised with a great jazz tone on a hollow body.
I bought this amp and have had it for about two weeks. Let me just say... it's AMAZING. I literally can't believe the sound of this thing, the tone and tonal range is fantastic! I was a little worried it was going to be just a "nice looking" amp but it's WAY more. This demo vid is very true to the sounds it produces. And honestly, it looks really cool in person. It tapers in at the bottom and the surf green is out of this world cool. This is one of the best amps I've owned in the last 6 or 7 years. Get one. Get one, now! Email me if you have any questions.
Fender, this was really good! I like the simplicity of the amp and the video was great. Other music product manufacturers take note; when you showcase a product we want it to be entertaining as well as factual, so we'll like it and remember it.
That poor man died demoing this amp. Finally sounds like that nice, clean, Fender Deluxe tone. Something Pawn Shop amps as of yet, have strangely failed to deliver. The 210 cab with on-board verb is a very nice touch. Almost makes this a "must-have" for Fender amp fans. Dare they make a black or white Tolex version, and this thing would fly off the shelves faster than The Excelsior.
So fucked up that they didn’t give him goggles. Sometimes scientists get too focused, eh? Poor bitch could play too. Shame. Kinda looked like the kinda guy no one would miss though, truth be told.
Everyone knows that for a controlled experiment you should only change one variable to keep results accurate. Those scholars at fender should have done their homework. In all seriousness sounds like a great amp!
This amp sounds absolutely amazing. My only problem is that it needs to controls for treble, mids, and bass. Add those on and this would be even better.
I completely forgot about these amps! Stupid can design, but everything else seems super cool! This video, even, strikes a so much more Fender-y… dare I say it, TONE than so much of their other marketing! Three thumbs up! More of everything about this, please!
FYI: I used to own a Mustang III and I will say without a doubt that the Vaporizer would eat it for breakfast, they are in completely different leagues.
Is the difference truly night and day? As a man who is already going beyond his budget (originally in the market for a ltd, Mustang II v.2) for a color I can"t let go of my modeling amp abilities. I like to tune, tweak. and tinker a lot. For twin 10" in the same price range for a non modeling amp I was going to bite into the Orange TT paired with my Sennheiser HD280 (then cabs later) or Marshal mini stack. Single 12 vs twin 10s is a toss up for me, Like choosing a turbo setups on a 5.0L V8. I"ll likely end up with more than one amp anyway. To be fair I've only demo"d though YT no live samples yet. I've too much of a newb to walk in to my local Guitar Center with 2 and (many pars of) 10 1/2 half songs I know and competently test them out.
XD what the heck. Fendermusical you should make more of these this was a great way to demostrate an amplifier, and grabbed my attention a lot. These are the things that would make your amplifiers and such so much more interesting and attention grabbing.
Love this vid, I keep coming back to it year after year. I have one of these and love it. Also if you look there's a Excelsior, Greta, and a Rampart in the background. Still looking for the Rampart but have the other two. Amazing amps all of them and soo cool.
you guys really got a good one there, best sound to me is for sure with a strat, would have liked to hear the vaporizer circuit on the strat in the bright input
I have an old sears silvertone amp that sounds similar to the vaporizer, nothing but great tone! I have to say, the vaporizer produces much more distortion.
I yanked the head and build a new enclosure for it. Now I have a vaporizer head. It's just so much easier to use and set up. The controls are on the front now and the bottom is now the back. Works pretty good with a 212 closed back. The retro cab has too much back sound. Closed cab focused and tightened the sound and tone.
Am I the only one who thought this sounded pretty spot on for what they were going for? It's not supposed to sound like an enormous twin reverb, it's supposed to sound like a quirky pawn shop amp. Not that I would necessarily buy one, but some of these critical comments don't make any sense.

I concur

I love these Fender Pawn Shop ads. They really know how to market this stuff to all of us large 12 year olds at heart out here!

The sound with the humbuckers was really something else
Chuck!! You are a legend!
I love this video, I remember the first time I saw it... It brings me a very good memories
Best Fender demo ever!!!!
With the Vaporizer mode engaged this thing has a pretty tasty tweed sound going on, I would graciously accept one in Surf Green!
That was just silly. Nicely done Fender!
Fender is going through another golden period.... good to see
The clean tones on this thing are not too shabby
Hmm.. no mention of the Excelsior in the background on the left.. got one and love it!
Everyone knows that for a controlled experiment you should only change one variable to keep results accurate. Those scholars at fender should have done their homework.
In all seriousness sounds like a great amp!
You must be #47... right?
My #1 amp with my tele. Killer sound.
Best Fender ad ever! By a long shot.
Really Beautiful Amps!
Nice!
awesome!!!!! congratulations, Fender!!!
I believe the boots are listed on ebay
Hahaha, it's nice to see Fender mixing it up a bit and making a funny video for one of their products for a change :)
Great one Fender! We love those kind of humoristics (is that a word?) videos! Do some more! The vaporizer switch is too much!
That was a super awesome demo and the best one so far !!!
this is how fender starts their new year
I swear I'm buying this because of this advert. So retro!
The clean channel is superb, I was very surprised it sounds so good.
This is the best fender vid ever.
Great advertising!! Chuck Hall (Subject #46) is perfect and one of the best Blues guitarists around...!!!
Hey fender do you sell the patches that the scientists wear? because i would buy them
I must possess a Vaporizer.
Love the advert.. the amp sounds cool too!
Man, just looking up this obscure amp and I'm treated to comedy gold. Good job Fender.
Nice to see Fender being funny. Don't get that very often now
I love........THE VAPORIZER SWITCH!!!!!!
prob the funniest pawn shop vid yet
We need more videos like this.
Best Fender add ever!
Best...gear..demo...ever.
Este amplificador deja fuera de juego al Frontman; es simplemente una maravilla :3
This amp sounds absolutely amazing. My only problem is that it needs to controls for treble, mids, and bass. Add those on and this would be even better.
eq pedal, boop !!!

Now that's how you promote a product. If I wasn't already dead set on the ltd. ed. Mustang III V.2 I'd buy one.
FYI: I used to own a Mustang III and I will say without a doubt that the Vaporizer would eat it for breakfast, they are in completely different leagues.

Just got one today, $300 with tags, first impressions are great. For a valve amp with great looks, simple but versatile.
wow something new i really like this amp already GREAT JOB FENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lOborotories just the way the Dr. said it. Strat sounded the most special.
Awesome video. Love vids that think and do off beat plots!
Fun ad. Green or red? Tough choice. Great looking amp.
Frickin' great! Oh, and the amp sounds badass too!
Hillarious...well done Fender!
That's an excellent video Fender!!! Give us some more!!!
Well and of course more gear 😉
This was great! Fender needs to make more video shorts!
I always knew that fender is a comedy... so there it is!
XD what the heck. Fendermusical you should make more of these this was a great way to demostrate an amplifier, and grabbed my attention a lot. These are the things that would make your amplifiers and such so much more interesting and attention grabbing.
Excellent any news from Pawnshop amps! Love it
Best video ever.
Looks and sounds amazing, gonna have to pick one up in surf green to match my Pawn Shop 72!
Great Video, Old Skool Kool
I must have 1 immediately!!!
I like the amp and the video! If it was tweed I would buy it now.
Love this vid, I keep coming back to it year after year. I have one of these and love it.
Also if you look there's a Excelsior, Greta, and a Rampart in the background.
Still looking for the Rampart but have the other two.
Amazing amps all of them and soo cool.
Well, this one gave me a big smile :)
this was so tight
Just got one of these amps. I LOVE it!!!!!
It's about time a video was out on this. Sweetwater, Musicians Friend, and others have had this thing for sale, with no info about it!
Very entertaining. Fender had some good ad people a decade ago.
Perfect example of viral marketing at its BEST! Great work Fender!
Word. They did a great job!
this is so extra i love it
I have the seafoam green Vaporizer amp and I really wish Fender would reissue these amps
Beautiful 😂
I'm gonna buy this one!
you guys really got a good one there, best sound to me is for sure with a strat, would have liked to hear the vaporizer circuit on the strat in the bright input
I own one a slate blue one and love it
Brilliant marketing, and you didn't even need Egg Strategy.
Nice Job Team !!
Oh yeah.....one of my favorites.......
RIP BB KING
I have an old sears silvertone amp that sounds similar to the vaporizer, nothing but great tone! I have to say, the vaporizer produces much more distortion.
Cute Demo !!!! Sounds Sweet !!!!!+++
The one I have sounds great!
Wish Fender would have some fun with their guitars too. A headless Telecaster, for example...
This is such a great way to promote an amp! I love it. Way to go, Fender! #HappyEars

That sounds like a really cool project!
I recently enclosed the original vaporizer cab without amp head inside. It sounds amazing! I run a Marshall dsl 15 through it.
It's my go to rig now.
I think it was the Roland space echo effect that vaporized 46 !
Great vid :)
i can't see why everybody seem to hate this amp so much. it sounds quite fine to me
Great Robben Ford!
Very, very cool!
Great video! :D
..I love that sound... :3
Hi I have this amplifier but u am in need of a replacement footswitch any idea of a suitable replacement
How did they get the video in black & white but keep the amp in it's original color? Does anyone know how to get that effect in the video?
I love the surfy reverb, kinda reminded me of the shadows "apache" song. Lovely fender amp, keep up!
However, Hank Marvin did not use reverb in Shadows. He used echos (tape delays) in a very reverb-like way.
Fantastic!
