Loving the fact that we even gave Rob a guitar that tunes itself & he's still out of tune!! I think he just does it for fun!! Glad you like this video - I enjoyed shooting it.
Hey, this is sort of off topic, but you guys should run over the entire telecaster range. From the Squier vintage modified telecaster (I'm especially pointing to the special with a single coil and p90) to the masterbuilt teles. As for the Squier vintage modified telecaster special, I own one, in butterscotch blonde, I think you would be very impressed, that is if you get one in perfect condition like I did. You guys are awesome together, keep making awesome reviews
I've always wanted one of these amps ever since I first saw this video. Well I just picked up one (in 2020) in mint condition, in the Rocket Red tolex and I love it so much. All the great sounds are there. Plus stomping the vaporizer foot switch is a literal Blast! BTW when I went to pick it up, the first thing the guy did was apologize that the Robot hang card had been lost. LOL
Had mine for nearly a fortnight now and I adore it. Fantastic sounding, solidly built amp that sounds different with every combination of guitar, pickup and pedal.
Sam Gordon If his pitch is bad then you're also suggesting Lee's is too as He's already commented on it being out of tune :P Trust your ears not technology. If it sounds flat, it's flat... But seriously how can you not hear that?! It's so jarringly obvious.
Very cool amp. May have to get this. What is interesting is that the Vaporizer switch sounds better than the boost pedal, much more organic. Maybe it is the way it records onto the mic. That is probably why so many classic records were recorded with small overdriven Fender Champs.

Good review guys. Finally showing the product being reviewed instead of just using it while talking constantly about chapman guitars. And I'm not talking bad about rob, I just want to see other products in use.
@@truthwinseverytime8805 lmao ty for replying to my 6 year old comment. Sadly don't play much anymore because hands are now fucked but cool to see this amp again
The surf guitarist you're thinking of is Dick Dale. He is actually quite monumental in the history of rock music, and also a pioneer in guitar amplification. The first 100 watt amplifier was created by Leo Fender for Dick Dale. He also brought the harmonic minor scale to the mainstream. I seen him live a couple of years ago. It is by far the best, and loudest, live guitar tone I've ever heard. You will never hear a guitar tone like his. He is still touring, so definitely go check him out while you got a chance. He pushing 80 years old, and he still rocks out harder than guys a quarter his age.
I'm picturing a scenario in future where a worn old footswitch or a dirty/rusted footswitch connection or dry solder joint suddenly screws up causing this amp to intermittently shift between normal operation and "vaporizer" mode, causing a wave of enormous and seemingly random volume fluctuations to occur. I guarantee this will happen to someone, eventually.
***** the contacts and solder joints inside the amp can screw up too, and most importantly, the results of such things will cause more severe and obvious malfunctions with this amp due to the function of the footswitch.
I'm picturing a scenario where Zachary get's a clue. I mean predicting some hardly plausible future malfunction that is an easy fix is something to complain about. I mean c'mon Zack.
PeterDad60 it's an easy fix, for sure, but the problem is what happens when it breaks, not how easy it is to fix after the event... When you say it's "hardly plausible", are you suggesting that footswitches and jack connectors are somehow immune to corrosion, dirt and dry solder joints?
I was in a shop and played one. The Guy who works there said that if you push the vaporizer butten ints like you would hammer the cable right into the tubes of the amp. i think that this describtion suits it very well. Its a very nice amp and if you are able to you should at least play them by yourselfs.
I remember walking into a store about 10 years ago, and a red Vaporizer amp caught my eye. Sat down to play it, and instantly fell in love, having no idea what it was. While noodling around on it, someone asked if they could buy the amp, and the guy said I had dibs, since I was already playing it. Took that as a sign, bought it for 200 bucks, and it's been my main go-to ever since! So glad in hindsight that I didn't hesitate to get my hands on it!
two speakers and super re verb. Great harmonica amp! "I like to smoke the Harp"! I also own a Excelsior, Rampart, and new 1939 reissue Epiphone Century. Also great for harp, with a digiverb stomp box.. Just in case you want the smoking tube sound for your harp. I always enjoy your AMP demos.
Love your reviews! I enjoy how honest you guys are while reviewing a product, that's one thing you don't usually see from other guitar channels, so thank you for that! One thing that I would LOVE to see from you guys is a review of the new Ernie Ball John Petrucci Majesty signature guitar, is that coming any time soon? *crosses his fingers* I'm really curious to hear what you guys think about this new axe from EB and I can't wait to see it in action played by you two. That would be awesome.
Thanks for showing the amp guys. Bought this thing yesterday and the vid helps me bit for fine tuning my guitars on it , thanks for that , and ye the amp is great ! :)
Just came across this and he is playing a riff at 12:27 that he put on an album. Probably before it was ever a song. Rob did you play that by accident and then it stuck?
That's just bad. You'd think they would know. Especially since it's a cult song. Not only was Dick Dale in a whole load of Fender adds in magazines (most famously playing a Jazzmaster on a surfboard on a rolling wave), his song is also directly coupled to Pulp Fiction which is another classic. Lack of development clearly.
And also... After watching too many Chapman vids, I know now that whenever Rob only says 'Great' without elaborating or ADD-enthousiasm... he pretty much thinks it sucks. Thanks for the indirect honesty!
Simon de rycke It's actually a cool amp. It provides much more mid-range and of course more volume than say a Fender Champ or Super Champ, amps with more effects but a single 10" speaker which are in the same price range. It's got a lot of the characteristics of my old Valco Airline with a lot more volume and more headroom. If your drummer knows what he's doing you won't have to worry about being heard over the kit. If your drummer is still learning how to play a room, well only time and practice is going to cure that. That hum heard in this demo can be mitigated by spraying the connections to the reverb box with contact cleaner. It worked on mine. Its a warm, responsive and very unique amp. It's light enough to carry. Its fun!
Not a bad amp at all, better tubes and change from 12ax7 to 5751's and that smooths this amp right out. Huge difference for the better in my opinion, ive had mine since they came out and i always get compliments on the tone its got.
chuck.. if you're still out here mate.. I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these on Reverb.. Since I come from the "not all tubes are created equal".. what brand tubes did you drop into this ?
