Is the Fender logo on the headstock added by a waterslide? I'm building my own guitar, and I wish to have my own logo on it. (Btw my Standard Strat is from 2012; same year as this video was made. Maybe it's one of these? Hehe)
Want to see more from Fender???? Why not just show us more in this video. You already have the footage and you sped it up for NO REASON. This is UA-cam, not television where you have time restrictions. People want to watch a 30 minute or even an hour video of you guys making a guitar. Why not just show it? As much as I love Wayne Kramer, I'd much rather hear the sounds of the machines and maybe commentary and video at normal speed.
I like and own many guitars, but the Fender Stratocaster is and will always be my very favorite. It is still so popular with so many because it was the first electric guitar that was designed based totally on the input and needs of touring musicians. Thanks Leo Fender for caring about what we think.
EricBlackmonGuitar Yes but they refuse to innovate or change anything. No lowered scale length, no new controls, no fixed bridges. There should be a strat for everyone, not a strat for some people who play a certain kind of thing.
@Sightseeing Huh? There are hardtail Strats. There are Strats in every pickup configuration under the sun. There are Strats at 22.75" scale length. Pretty much the only thing that doesn't change about the Stratocaster is the body shape. But the iconic Strat has a 25.5" scale, SSS pickups, and a tremolo bridge.
The strat was a fantastic design, not only because of how it fulfilled the needs of the users, but it's also completely built with ease of production in mind. The bolt on neck with straight headstock, the stamped saddles, the drop in pickguard that can be pre-wired etc. made the strat cheap to produce and therefore much more accessible than for instance a Gibson. After starting to build guitars myself I really started to appreciate its "design for manufacturing".

I have two USA Strats, The 1st one 1984 issue, Black, owned since purchased new in 1985 Second I bought in 2012 - Mystic Blue Metallic . The Black, I've had longer than anything I've ever owned - buy quality, You get quality. I took it back to the same store I bought it from a few years ago under new ownership. The new owners (Father & Son) Who are guitar enthusiasts & band Members Absolutely LOVED It & each had to play it. I was told -" Whatever You do, Don't sell it !!" I Love My Strats - Period !!!
Agreed! Huge difference in quality control, even now. I only know because I sell them. If you can muster the extra funds then get the American one, pay once for the quality.
This doesn't seem to be the case in 2021 now with a the new lineup of Strats. The Fender Player Series Strat and the American Professional Strat are virtually the same. Made in Mexico Strats have stepped their game up. The Player Series feels no different from an American Standard Series Strat from 2015
I still have my 2011 American Standard Strat in Olympic White. Love this Strat. There are many lookalikes in the market but there is only one Fender Stratocaster.
I come back to this video to see how my American special strat from 2012 (like this one in the video) was made. This instrument is holding up soooo well ten years after. I did change the pickups and I put a black pickguard because it looked cooler but man it plays like heaven. My guitar and my dog have brought me more hours of joy than many humans in my life
I'm watching this out of guilt and to sooth my soul. I'm a dyed in the wool Strat guy, but drove a 3 hour round trip to but a Les Paul this evening. Beautiful guitar and tried it before I bought it. I got it home and played it for 10 minutes. Then I played my Strat for 30 minutes. I don't know why I felt I had to cheat on my Strat. It's the greatest guitar ever.
+Nicholas Manoukian potting the pickups...dipping them in wax so that they reject literally everything from the outside world except for the electromagnetic influence from the strings
Put a Musikraft or Allparts neck on a Squier body and you’re more than 80% there. A set of good pickups as well. That would still cost you roughly $500, though.
how can i get a job there!?!?! ive worked in manufacturing jobs before and i like that style of work but i also love and play guitar!!!! someone please send me a link or something!!!
First off it doesn't matter because the pick up is held into the pickgard not the body, second it's a plus if you want to change it and put a hambucker later on
It's called wax potting. It's where they dip the pickup coils in liquid wax, which then enteres the coils and becomes solid, which stop movement of the coils and the hum because of the movement.

The finish looked great after spray on and looked dull after being finished buffing.

I am so proud of having a strat!

okay. nice
Wouldn't it be cheaper and time efficient to build bodies and necks out of a molded material made from some sort of plastic?
+Baghuul Yes but people wouldn't buy them because they are still stuck in the 50's when it comes to electric guitar technology for the most part
Never been able to afford a Fender US Strat. Always had Squiers or other copies. One day. It will be mine!

No. If a Gibson guitar was being used in this video, you could easily tell, since it wouldn't be able to stay in tune. Lol!!

They put a Single coil into a Humbucker routed guitar?? (3.15)
Makes production less expensive if you can make many different models using a single body rout.
First off it doesn't matter because the pick up is held into the pickgard not the body, second it's a plus if you want to change it and put a hambucker later on
