Charles is a really awesome chill, laid back dude. He rules, man. Anyways, Fender have gone a step in the right direction with this stuff. Sounds gnarly!!
Having owned a ramparte for about a month now I can honestly say this is a great little amp, all tubed, the clean has an excellent tone, combine that with any pedal and its a winning combo, I would personally rename to 'hot channel' to funk as it has that chilli peppers quality, and I got all this for £264, not a bad deal :)
like I said, made for teenagers, this amp sucks. If you want a really nice amp for LESS than $399 get a Bugera V22, It kicks Fenders Ass. Their Blues Jr sounds like JUNK compared to a Bugera V22
fender is really keeping the hipster vibe alive with these pawnshop amps huh. might aswell make a amp tolexed in flannel made with pabst blue ribbon cans as the chassis. jfc
I thought Charles looked kind of out of it and uninterested. Just there because he has to, not because he's trying to be cool or laid back. He looks like the morning after! Not a good interview...Did not do Fender & Rick justice.
If the sparks and crackles of a campfire were a tone, that'd be that Ramparte. Beautiful looks, but not so keen on the driven sound. That Vaporizer sounds killer and sizzling. That 57 though... That is THE tone I imagine when I think of a Fender. Fantastic.
This sounds just great but I've got an issue with the controls. What do you do to get more bass on your tone or middle or high on this amplifier?? I may sound a little bit inbox-minded but this a huge doubt I've got before buyin' this amplifier.
Bo Huggabee but i will say that this would be a kickass starter amp for most people. for 399, its a steal. fender clearly just wants to market it's name and classic leo amps. because that amp is probably just a tweed champ, if not that same wiring as the deluxe head he demos. with a 1500$ increase, unless that tweed deluxe is point to point, which i highly doubt it, for that price from fender...
I believe all the tweed amps had an "upside down" control panel but that was because musicians would stand behind the amps and control them from there instead of 'back lining' like we do today. Being a reissue it would have the same cosmetic design.
Is this guys dad the editor or something? Nepotism? He ALWAYS looks super strung out. Wouldn't even pass an interview with me. His total lack of interest or personality doesn't help the fact.
interview tip... and not to be snotty-- but the voice comes out of the mouth of the person... and the guitar comes out of the speaker of the amp----- use microphone accordingly
They had a 57 on the speaker, that was where all the guitar amp sound came from. This kid was just really baked, so he kept forgetting to stop holding the "PGS" mic in the other guy's face while he was playing.
I just wish they'd do away with the entire "Pawn Shop" concept. Is Fender making amps or lunch boxes? It's as if Fender doesn't think these amps aren't good enough to put "Fender" right on the front of the things in big bold letters. Instead, Fender seems to want to capture the vibe and looks of other amp companies from the past (mostly Valco). Come on Fender, you're better than this.
Great to see Charles again, the best "out and about" man you've got
Have the Vaporizer and love it. Very fun!
Tricko do you use it to gig?
That clean on the vaporizer .... and the whole sound on the '57 ... geez I want one of all the pawn shop series.
the best part of namm so far i've watched!

Just Cool! Fender is showing why they are in the fore front of the amp industry and have been for so many years.
Once again fantastic amps from Fender.
I have 13 amps and I still need more of them. That Deluxe head sounded awsome
the interviewer is a little burnt out
"Grandmother's drapes never sounded so angry... calling from the grave."
Fender kicking ass!

When I heard that '57 Deluxe head.... Man!
how do you get stoned guys like that to take interviews.

Surely swart will have something to say about that logo and naming style?
I thought Charles looked kind of out of it and uninterested. Just there because he has to, not because he's trying to be cool or laid back. He looks like the morning after! Not a good interview...Did not do Fender & Rick justice.
Exactly! Like "oh my god amps are SOOO boring!"
Yes! I thought that way, too. He really needs to learn work ethic, or somebody needs to kick his ass to make him work!

you cna hear at the minute 5:57 bobby vega playing
Am I the only one missing Rebecca?
Hi I have this amplifier but u am in need of a replacement footswitch any idea of a suitable replacement
This sounds just great but I've got an issue with the controls. What do you do to get more bass on your tone or middle or high on this amplifier?? I may sound a little bit inbox-minded but this a huge doubt I've got before buyin' this amplifier.
it sounds synthetic like it's been washed and cleaned.

That control panel of the 57 deluxe is upside down? Great design error...

Just cant' get enough
I think personally that the vaporizer looks a bit like a toy but I do like the Ramparte, but that is just me
They should include the vaporizer in the mustang amps if only for the underwater sound.
Love the ramparte

Looks like a budweiser logo for a grill.
F the Charles Haters! The man is smooth and real.
Wow that 57 head doesn't do clean. The vaporizer would be a cool 2nd amp, the ramparte has no tone knob (deal breaker).
Hope the interviewer is OK now.
I'm sure these amps have their fans, but in hindsight they were big duds for Fender, discontinued in a year or 2.
great amps :)
Steve Giordano butthurt much?
sam holik obviously not as much as you Sam the bend over man!
Steve Giordano wow you can rhyme. What do you want, a medal? And don't bother replying, I blocked you.
I like this
i didn't know they had a pot booth at NAMM shouldn't visit the pot booth before you interview people.
haha poor interviewer from 1:40 - 2:02 just hoping to God he can get his point across
interview tip... and not to be snotty-- but the voice comes out of the mouth of the person... and the guitar comes out of the speaker of the amp----- use microphone accordingly

$1900, shut up. My Marsh 5E3 cost virtually half that and sounds just as good. Evil FMIC!!!
ossum
give me a simple quality plywood amp not kitshed out for a reasonable price and *then* would I consider fender.
both sound too british :-(
that's the EL84 tube for ya, very british
Lots of electrical problems

All the guitar stuff sounds the same you just distorted and clean thus it everything else is a waste of money
