Thank you very much. My washing machine was a Hoover and it was tripping power. After disconnecting the heater like you showed, it stopped tripping power. Thank you very much;you just saved my pocket.
Amazing, this helped me so much! My LG washing machine started tripping the RCD on startup yesterday. Found your video and immediately tried disconnecting the heating element. Switched it on, tripped again, heart sunk. Then looked for the steam generator, found it caked in rust (the machine is about 10 years old now). Disconnected the steam element and reconnected the main element. Switched it on and it doesn't trip the RCD anymore! Going to hold off the steam functions for now until I can source a new generator. I would have had no idea without your video. Thank you!
Awesome, so glad it helped you. Good on you keeping on investigating
Thank you so much. No one else explains as clearly as you do. Definitely pointed me in the right direction with my problem.
welcome hope you'll be able to fix yours
I almost went out and bought a new machine, but I’m so happy I tried doing this. Was extremely easy to do and extremely cheap to fix. Legend!
Thank you..manage to re use my washer again. In storage for 4 years due to it tripping the breaker. decide to give a try to pull the heater wiring as last try before throwing the machine away.it works!!!
Glad I could help
Thanks ! Nice piece of information. More power to your channel💪
Thanks my brother it helped me a lot as a technician myself
Thanks for the advice. I just disconnected the wires but I need to organize a new heating element going forward
Thank you so much for doing this video it helped me identify that it was the heating element in my LG washing machine and was the cause of my fuse box tripping!
Glad it helped
@@user-bm8nj4xb9e I Googled the model of my LG washing machine and heating element and then I ordered it through Ebay.
Thank you greatly appreciated, I have done what you have showed and my machine is working, if one leaves the square plug connected, one can still use the machine while sourcing the spare parts for it. Then the machine still recognizes the element being present and the machine works without hot water...
Thank you very much for this fix, you save my day and my wallet !
Thank you , legend , mine appears to be the heating element , been driving me nuts for a year , intermittent fault , currently working on cold with power cable disconnected to heater element . Saved me $$$$$ that i dont have . Cant thank you enough . ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
welcome glad it helped
Ok
When I disconnect I get the te error code, and prevents me from washing
@BassPlug Music connect back the white square plug so the element us still recognized by the machine, disconnect the power leads only, washe will work.
super helpful. Thank you so much
welcome glad it helped
So would this mean replace the heater elements for proper funtion, or will the issue be in one of the control boards?
Thanks mate!
Hi mate. Thank you so much for this video very useful but hasn't sorted my issue out. I have disconnected both elements. What's happening is we are getting shocks from the drum I have used a volt pen to test and lights up still with the elements disconnected. I have used an extention to test from different mains socket and still have the same issue so ruling out mains issue. It was tripping my circuit breaker to my garage where the washing machine is. Anything else that could be causing this. All earth wires are intact. Could greatly appreciate any help. LG true stream 5/8 kg washer dryer.
Thanks D
Thanks, I just fixed my machine 😊
Thanks man... it saves me money from calling electrician.... I just remove heater element red cable only and no error came out. if I remove all 3 cable, there's CH error appear. Mine LG CD1006SM. Regards from Malaysia.
welcome, get a new heater and reconnect the cables
I unplugged all three & error pop up
@@ryukikaze you cannot unplug all three cables, just unplug the heater element red cable. A neutral cable needs to be plugged.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome! Glad it helped
Thanks sooo much i got same issue with my LG
welcome glad it helped
Thanks Washy, another one of your super interesting videos on LG washers.
My best regards to you. From Costa Rica.
thanks
Mine has just started doing this so hopefully this can help! The machine is 6 years old and working fine but the other day the power tripped off and we traced it to the LG after some experimenting. It only trips the power when the wash ends
Might be a faulty door switch
This may be a no brainer for someone who knows what they’re doing (not me), but I was just about to drop $1500 on a new machine till I found this vid and checked my heating element. It must have been the reason it was always tripping the circuit breaker
Anyway, prob need to still get a new one (this old LG is 15yrs plus) but at least I can wash today !!!
Very good informative!
Welcome glad it’s helpful

I have another problem with my zanussi freezer it’s giving beep every 2,3 minutes it’s working fine but some frosting
If you give me any idea how sort this problem I am very thank full to you
Thank you
Welcome. Hope it helped
i will try the heater element suggestion.
my BUSH A127QW washer was working fine for years as is but has started to trip the circuit breaker, it will turn on start to fill/run as usual for about 10 seconds then trips the breaker. before this happened i had noticed that wash cycle would go on and on until i manually turned the dial to rinse, then it would drain the water out and rinse and drain and spin the clothes out just fine, but now it just trips the breaker at the start. ive tried a cold water cycle too thinking it might be the heating element but no it trips the breaker as i described above. the fact its starting then tripping the circuit is bugging me as its working but something goes off, also the fact if it was set to drain and rinse manually before this breaker tripping started, it would do that so that suggests the drain pump is working as well. man if you could help me that would be great!!
Nice video
Hello sir, thank you for your video and explanation. But I had untied the two cables and tried to power the washing machine again, but my fuse box fell out again... I don't have a steamer so I have a washing machine as the video. lg wd-14481tp. Is there any kind of example to find out what the cause is. Thank you
I just remove heater element red cable only and its working with cold water only, Thanks so much God bless.
Welcome glad it helped
I just replace another heater element, everything is working fine now. Thanks once more.
Thanks folks, reconnecting the other two and leaving the red disconnected worked. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hi I'm having issues with my washing dryer brand sharp... The dryer is not heating. I know that there is a system that pops up when it's overheating, I had it over but now it happened again after drying only once....
Hello i am a woman who need to fix this.. my question is.. before that my machine is a combo washer/dryer but i seldom use the drying function.. my maid seems to like to stuck in clothes that at one point i could feel the heat from the drum.. so i feel 90% sure the heating element is the problem.. adding to the issue was once i try to switch on the machine.. the electric tripped off.. my question is for my steam wash/dry.. does it have 2 heating elements? Do i hv to open both top n at the back?
After removing the heating element can the machine still wash normally
We have the model you had at the start of the video. It only shorts right at the very end of the whole wash and spin cycle...would the heating element be a likely cause for this?
might be a faulty motor, remove the back panel and check if water has been leaking below the motor
thx for the Information i tried to just keep flipping the switch until it started ti work
Thank you very much for this video. I have a question. Before I get my heating element replacement, is it ok to run the washing machine without having the heating element in it? I removed it completely.
Appreciate you video
if its the steam heater yes if the washing heater at the bottom of the dryer no
Thanks for being helpful. Question: my LG machine trips off once i put the electric cord in the socket. Do you think it is the heating element? And if I want to change it by myself, is there any possibility that I may damage the machine? Since I never did something like this before, but it looks doable.
Check the ac line filter, then the ptc door switch, next is electronic pc board(if the electoniv board is dead it is good to check or replace the door switch).
Hi my washing trip the main I did remove the element and it still trip
mine is a 6.5kg turbo drum tripping off when spinning, what is the challenge
Hi mate, thanks for a great vid. I had this issue and changed the heating element watching your vid. It seems to have solved the tripping issue and I'm not getting any error codes on the washing machine but the water is not getting hot no matter the temperature I set and washes only with cold water. There's no error codes as well. Any ideas? Thanks
Welcome. Did you also change the temp sensor or that came with the new heater ? Check the wiring to that might be shorted or faulty
mine is always tripping during the initial cycle while it is agitating the stuff in the washer. no rhyme or reason, big load or not but definitely trips more when bedding or heavy duty is chosen
Hi my gorenje machine is doing exactly this, tripping the RCD as soon as its plugged in. If I disconnect the heating element can I still wash? Does this mean it will not heat the water for hot washes? Thanks
yes and yes
Hey, this is an absolute long shot and I'm hoping you'll see it. It looks like my heating element is the source of the problem (thank you for the advice). My original element says ZYETU AC 230V 2000W AEG73309901, however the only replacements I can find online start with ZYEH? Do you know if that would still work? Thank you in advance.
So I think I found the difference, which is the immersion depth: 290mm (ZYETU) Vs 305mm (ZYEH). So the only real question I have now is am I going to set fire to my house if it differs by 15mm?
Thanks , So I did disconnect the heater but then it shows the fault tE and so I cant progress things to identify whether that fixes the fault and I am a bit stuck now . Can order a heating element ad look to replace that but is there a way to ask the machine to run wven tho the element is disconnected so I can be sure this is the problem fixed? TiA
If you disconnected the square plug with 2 leads that is the temp sensor and will cause an error. The larger plugs on the outside positions is the heater and only one side needs to be disconnected to eliminate the heater from the circuit. Unless your machine knows the temp is incorrect, as that is a temperature code
Yes you only need to disconnect the heater and not the temp sensor
Clearly explained and identifies the problem, but I've tried every which way to prise the element out but without success. It's firmly locked in place. Any tips?
Hi did you undue the nut ? Unfortunately sometimes they are really stuck in there. Using wd40 to loosen it might help
The tripping problem just started on our F1480TDS ..... It trips about 10/15 seconds after we power on, this model also has the stream function that doesn't get used much. You think it'll be a heater element?
Hi it might be the heating element of the stem generator check that
@@askmrwashywashy thank you
Wouldn't just running the unit tap cold tell you the exact same thing without all the extra work?
my lg front loding washing maching powe on rtip swich off sametime working not triping what the proplam my idea elecric eliment
I just removed red wire from back of machine and it started working, do I need to take care of anything else ?also after placing back cover do I need to take care of anything?
No you can only do cold washes now. Replacing the heater if you want hot washes would be needed
Mine fills up then shuts off with a code of PF . Any suggestions ?
So if we disconnect heater wires can we still be able to get dried clothes like completely dried in washer&dryer machine???
Yes it doesn’t need heating when drying so should be fine. Heating is only for washing

Hi!
Loved the video, my lg doesn’t have the heater at the back it appears?
Mine turns on for like a second then trips the rcd. Any ideas??
hi I would start disconnecting different components. Start with the washing machine drum heater. disconnect and reset until you find which one is causing the issue
Do some lgs have the heater at the front??
What the parts number for Kenmore 600 series heating element?
Hi sorry not too sure. You’ll have to use your model number and type it on Google/ eBay something should show up
Can you do the same testing with the motor ? To see if it powers on with disconnected motor
Yes
Its ok to remove heating elements and it will work?
Heating element is needed to heat up the water so make sure you replace if it’s the problem. Otherwise you can just unplug the wires and use as cold wash only
My touch controllers keep pressing itself, what can I do?
When you say "turn on your washing machine" throughout this video, you mean turn on the unit and start a wash cycle, right? You don't mean just press the power button on the machine... The circuit does not trip when just pushing the washing machine power button.
Will the machine still work without the heater element
Yes only for cold wash
Mine does not trip right away, I get a load done and when it's time for the next load a day later or two it's when I notice it tripped.
does yours have steam wash ? How long have you had your washer ?
@@askmrwashywashy yes it does, I can wash loads all day but when I decide to do a new load days later is when I notice its tripped.
@@askmrwashywashy our washing machine with steam washer does the same thing. Trips once cycle is finished
Hi Good day.
Wow, it really works. With your recommendations, i have just sort out the problems my Wash Machine was having.
Thank you so much and keep your intelligents up👆...
Really appreciate it but did not work, I wish you would have included instructions on the power cord as well
LG washer machine turns on and off WHEN DOOR IS OPENED front load
But I am not using hot water and it’s just tripping the wall outlet about five minutes into cycle.
Hi. It has an in built heater that can be causing this issue. Even though you're not using hot water the heater might have failed. How long have you had it?
Help please
Sir my machine pcb trips and the company also don't find what's the issue?
Disconnect the heating elements. Water valves, motor , do it one by one until it stops tripping
When I disconnect I get the te error code, and prevents me from washing
If you reconnect all except the red, it will work.
eliment remove washing maching use proplam.not proplam
Mine is showing error
Where is the circuit breaker?
Mine trips after it I start a load ,
Check if it does it on the cold wash. If not it’s the heating element
@@askmrwashywashy it was actually a faulty door latch
Any tips for Sharp ... After i power on, it str8 away power circuit what should i do?
Haven’t worked much with them. Best to check the heating element on it and also door switch. Disconnect them then start the washer and see what happens
@@askmrwashywashy okey, i try it soon
Too bad it doesn't work without the heating element so you are forced to replace it. More features these modern washing machines have, more failure points. Some LG models from 2011 still work because they didn't have any of these nonsense.
hmm SO I removed all except the middle cable and now it is working fine. I guess it is the sensor that tells the washing machine the heating element is there. Need to run some more tests and see if it is safe.
Yeah it’s a bad design. It was simpler back then. Lucky enough the heater doesn’t take out the main board. Sometimes a faulty pump causes the board to fail.
Hello Washy I’m a domestic appliance engineer for about 20 years now.I have to disagree with your methods especially when you are trying to teach your viewers on how to repair there machine, telling them to pull off wires and hope for best.what about getting a multi meter and test to see if you have a circuit instead of throwing parts at it.Listen don’t be offended it’s just constructive criticism.👍
Not everyone has a multi meter, as you mention about throwing parts (money) at it no good throwing £30+ for a multi meter to be used once. Its a process of elimination i suppose better than nothing or even wasting money that may not need to be wasted.
Only reason i mention this is that mine has just started tripping when turned on and this vid (as have other vids) have helped find the issue.
Cheers mate
Lmao domestic appliance engineer…
I am not an appliance engineer and unlike you have 0 years experience. This video allowed me to diagnose my own problem and it cost me £0 pounds to do so and took about 10 minutes. I would have to disagree with your comment. Thank you to the guy who made this video
So what happens if you only disconnect it and not replace it?
Any chance of making an 8.40 min video into 3 mins 🤥 and what is a thingeee ???
See when your having a problem and you have to watch FUCKING ADVERTS before you can see the video!!!!!!!!
Settle down
