THAT part one day 1 get there I'm slowly working on my truck I'm in the I.E.
Whipple, Edelbrock, Magnuson, ProCharger,and on are CARB compliant. No biggie for Cali gear heads. It’s the small stuff that is hard. Take headers for example. Some are and some are not. It’s a money thing. The header manufacturer has to pay big bucks to California to get that EO #. How many long tubes do you have to sell in California to make up for the cost of certification vs all the other states that aren’t as strict. My supercharger and headers both are CARB compliant and come with a sticker. Just in case some A-hole cop decides to look under the hood.

hell yeah bro,way better than getting a scat pack,RT's are much better when it comes to engine when modifying it cause of the block compared to the comprimised block on the 6.4
Smart move waiting. I got my Magnuson on a Black Friday deal for $5k. Found a semiretired Mopar enthusiast mechanic with a small home based shop. $750. He had it for a week because it wasn’t the only project but I have more than one car so no biggee. Then when you know a guy, he knows a guy etc. the tune was $175.

I wouldn’t be running boots without forged internals. Before you know it, you’ll be down a whole engine. I’d get that done. If that engines new with low miles, chances are, it’s running stock sized pistons & bearings. So I’d go ahead and start buying the NEXT SIZE UP forged pistons one by one. Once you have it, send your block in to get it bored and machined. Boom. Your safe.
Dude you have to get long tubs. Those stock manifolds choke these RT out bad. Made a huge difference On my 2nd Gen. RT.

you need new coil packs, preferably from msd. limited slip differential would definitely translate that power to the ground much better also

I think it's cool that charger/challenger fans are re-discovering 5.7 liter hemis (not everyone can afford a hellcat or a red-eye), I just hope they don't get too carried away with the factory short block and stock internals when adding boost.
those short blocks can handle a lot of boost (just look at r/tlife's 700+hp twin turbo charger). add forged internals and you should be getting stock hellcat numbers easy. bottom end is another thing tho
Did you get it tuned or that’s how many hp it has without a tune
1200.00 for tuning is well above what most Hemi shops charge but I’m sure your options are limited in CA. I have an 18 R/T with an Edelbrock TVS 2650 making 500/495 at only 4 PSI .
with a Whipple I’m guessing your at 8 PSI or a bit more. either way enjoy..500 wheel is just right for a DD.

Of course a tune was needed because most S/C canned tunes suck. The one that came with my 2650 was terrible . I needed a real tune too. Enjoy !

The supercharger sounds awesome, the red wrap is clean, the wheels on point…but haven’t seen this car in action, not even a pull to 60 🤷♂️
Any plans on future mods? Feeling the need for more Boost? If you say "No" I'd be surprised. I slapped a Whipple on mine and waited just... 6 months to forge it
I think when any car guy starts modding it never ends. We always want more power. I do plan on doing a forged internals and upgrade rear diff. I'll probably look into some brembos i can get off any part outs.

Its a 2016. It definitely can be. Honestly the whole modding your vehicle isnt for everyone and if the funds arent there it can be a mistake if anything goes wrong.

@@RLogan-sl7xlNothing negative about it. It's a great little supercharger. I just want to upgrade to something that makes more power/boost. It's solid, but maxes out at about 10psi and 650-700hp with their smallest pulley. I just forged my motor and I'll be upgrading the trans soon too.
Their cheapest option offers 10lbs? What was done to your 5.7 to handle it?

So, I need to move to the bay area with my Challenger. How TF do I get compliant with emissions, if I put the Whipple 3.0 on my car? I have as SRT exhaust system, to get around the asthetics. I mean, SRT Manifolds and pipes look pretty stock, right? I'm worried about the tune, though. 😞

I like to see blowers on stock 5.7 blocks like mine most people go all the way from the start but I think you can also pick up power as you go once the blower its install, would you say that the car change after the super charger, in other words did it make you happier? 😁
Happier? For a minute lol but once you start modding a car i feel like its never ending and you just keep going. Already thinking of new wheels, wrap and maybe widebody. Plus ive been thinking of a new diff

I prefer the whine of the factory dodge blowers. But nice car nonetheless.
How’s the drivability on this? Which stage kit you went with? I’m debating on the 3.0 or Magnuson blower right now.
At the moment it drives a lot like stock but you obviously feel the power difference once you step on it. I've already driven with it for 200 miles and no issues.
I went with the stage 2 kit. It's the previous whipple as the 3.0 came out months after mine had been sent to production.
@@tobarhemi understood. I’m honestly looking at the 3.0 Whipple because Magnuson is being stingy about making the blower from 2.3 to 2.65L and it looks a lot better as a 2.65L. The 3.0 looks amazing, but I love that whine, something you don’t get as loud out of the Whipple as you Magnuson.

I love the R/T bro I have a 2018 white Charger R/T. I like your front grille I wanted to get one by t-Rex but there prices are kinda high….can you let me know which one you have on?
Its the TREX one lol They are a little pricey and i have both upper and lower. There is a similar one that is sold on ebay but I am not sure about the quality. Also check with ModFX they made some for the RT

really depends on the outcome you want. As an overlay is easy just clip it in. The way I did it involved some cutting and fully replacing the stock one. This can be a longer more tedious process but overall looks better in my opinion
I have a 2016 AWD hemi pursuit. What are you're thoughts twords a kit like this? Anything I should be needing to beef up. I don't know for sure but the driveline to the eye looks pretty close to what's under a Durango. I do have the uprated chassis ( police pak ) .
I don't think it will be much of an issue I have seen supercharged Durangos 5.7 and 6.4. It will all depend on the tune. I know some guys disable the AWD.

If your car is a 2017 on up the pcm is locked so you can't tune it. You have to get a aftermarket unlocked pcm.
2015+ is locked. and I had to get it unlocked

I haven't used the AC much, but from the times i have i don't recall hearing any of that noise

Sorry, I've been busy lately. Whipple has about 7k miles on it and still going. No issues but I might do a diff upgrade as the 5.7 doesn't have an LSD. This will probably help put the power down better.
Would I recommend it? Yes, there are a few options for boost available for the 5.7. I went with Whipple due to it being CARB legal.

Thanks! It depends how you want to install it. As an overlay or Insert replacement. Overlay you can do yourself but as a replacement you might need a shop unless you have the tools for it. I took it in because I didnt have the tools to do some of the cutting of the old grille

Whipple was purchased through TPS Motorsports in the Bay area. They had a sale and allowed me to finance it. You can also check out KNSPEEDFACTORY.com they have sales for a lot of Mopar aftermarket parts. The shop that did the install/tuning was local to me, SS Motorsports

Yes as for the fuel pump the kit comes with an MSD fuel pump booster
Did you have to send you ECU in to get unlocked? Thought after 2016 model, give or take a year, you needed someone to physically mod the ECU for a custom tune.
Yes all 2015+ models need it unlocked

I'm not a fan of Whipple superchargers. They don't have near enough boost. I put a Vortec on my Pentastar and it puts out 602 hp @22 lbs of boost. 520 to 540 to the ground. I've got around 15k on it and no problems so far.

It depends on your boots 6 lb to 8 lb of boost your engine will last a long time it's hard to break the 5.7

Out of curiosity, how many lbs of boost is this? And are the internals forged? I know 5.7 internals are better with boost than 6.4 internals. But I'm curious.

Front Grille is from TREX Grilles and the kit itself was 6700 for stage 2. I should have clarified that a lot of the answers are on my instagram lol

how long can i run stock internals and pistons etc on 6-8 lbs of boost?
depends on the engine. 5.7 can handle low boost. How long does it last? That is hard to say as everyones set up is different (tune, other mods, etc.). I know some that have ran a supercharger for years and no issues and some that blow with just headers. Even without mods Hemis seem to always have lifter issues at some point in their life cycle.
A 6.4 can't handle boost the same so those are usually recommended to do internal work before boost. That engine is kinda maxed out and thats why the Hellcat is a supercharged 6.2 not 6.4
I cant find the gen 4 whipples anywhere all i see is gen5 and they are way too much money
Its been discontinued. The Gen 5 came out a couple months after i got mine. Gen 4 is carb legal, which is kinda what. wanted. Gen 5 legally can't be sold in CA but people are still getting them . You might be able to find a Gen 4 through an official retailer like i did. I was also given a discount.
