Probably 45 - 50 years later, this song still makes me shiver. Then it was something to look forward to, not a care in the world. Now I look back and can say, "yeah!" such fond memories of people, places, and things. Thanx Bob!
Finally got to see him live for the first time back in early May at The Woodlands Pavilion,Texas.Concert was to start at 7:30 pm and was delayed because of rain, thunder and lightning, at 9:30 the rain stop along with the thunder and lightning.Bob Seger came out at 9:45 pm and played right up to almost midnight with 3 encores, as they started to take the stage apart we where walking out and just then the rain started again. So happy to have seen him and the concert was absolutely amazing,I never heard a live audience singing to almost every song as much as I did that night.Bob Seger at 73 years old still delivered like he was 30 again just a top class act.
There is not a single dude who rides a motorcycle that does not relate or feel the poetry of this great rock and roll masterpiece,, It makes want to just go out and get on my big two wheeler, HD Springer and roll away,, Bob is the MAN>
Someday when I have grandchildren and they ask me what is rock 'n roll, I'll just play this for them. There's just something about Seger's music that's timeless and uplifting. He's a national treasure.
Bob Seger got his start in Michigan..in Harper Woods(suburb of Detroit) he with The Herd played Notre Dame Boys Prepatory School high school sock hops..so did I..trouble was I did not get fancy breaks..gotta have good connections..He recorded some album maybe it was that blue album at Pampa Lanes(had a recording studio in back)..I was in front playing in a nondescript rock band playing Inna Gad something and never went out of state. I KNEW people who made it but not me..no matter how I bobbed and weaved behinhd that might duel keyboard Farfisa with TWO Sonic Spectrum Sunns(amplifiers)....bu my grandkids dont give a rats ass because they listen to cRAP!
I love this video of Bob Seger. I can't believe how the time has flown. One day you're rolling down the road, the sun on your face and the wind in your hair, the next ~ you realize Bob Seger is 70! wow ~ #bobsegerisnotdead. Next time, we'll get it right.
Saw this performed last week in Dallas. Can't believe the energy Bob Seger still uses while performing. It was 90 minutes of pure happiness just moving to the beats and singing along and watching this master musician roll away. It is his last tour... This is my favorite song of Bob and The Silver Bullet Band.
Bob Seger's music and Irish whiskey is the only thing that got me through 37 and a half years in a Ford Motor Company Factory. went to Seger concerts no matter where they were as often as I could.
Just watched a video of the top songs that will make you cry. Seger wasn't mentioned. Every time I listen to "Turn The Page" my eyes well up. This song is a close second.
I owe my love of Seger to my father, still with me but your comment brought tears to my eyes. this song will always remind me of us. working for our families but dreaming of being out on the road
This song is my anthem. I am actually DOING what he's talking about in this song. Gotta keep rollin, gotta keep ridin, keep serchin til I find what's right. Fuck yeah!
This song makes want to ride every time I hear it. Makes think of a particular ride thru Arroyo Seco when it gets to the line " just then I saw a young hawk flyin' and my soul began to rise"
One of my biggest regrets in this life is never seeing Bob Seger live. I've seen videos of his live performances, of course, but it's not the same as being there when it's all happening. Absolutely electric performance here.
This is my absolute favorite song of all time!!! Even thinking of it makes me feel free and light, like nothing is impossible, and I am completely unencumbered. I can be the truest version of who I am with no apologies.
First herd this song 20 years ago while watching the end of the movie "MASK" with Cher in. I have loved it ever since and never tire of it. It brings me out of a depressed state and finds the strength within me so i can carry on being the outgoing adventurer that I am.
First time I've seen this concert footage. As soon as I heard the drums playing, I knew it had to be Kenny Aronoff playing. Sure enough it looks like him. Great drummer! Great song! Easily my favorite Seger song ever!
We had just returned from a meat grinder of a fire fight in Afghanistan. We were shot up all to hell. Questioning why. An old First Shirt played this song as we were licking our wounds. Our country has it’s issues. It is still the best country on earth. Thank you Mr. Seger.
I finally found it!! I love this song....thank you for posting! Seger is one of the best, along w/Marshall Tucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ...they were the back in the day groups I listened to then and to this day!
You.....are just too modest..!! You have some great bands picked out to listen to..!! How fun..!! Life without music....would b-flat..!! Keep your headphones on....and your spirit up..!!
This is the song that set my love of motorcycles in concrete. A bucket list item of mine is to ride the Pacific Coast Highway on a Goldwing with my girlfriend on the backseat.
I'm 65 and there is no better music period.
Probably 45 - 50 years later, this song still makes me shiver. Then it was something to look forward to, not a care in the world. Now I look back and can say, "yeah!" such fond memories of people, places, and things. Thanx Bob!
this song will always make me think of the best big brother ever...I will see you again Mitch and we rock out for eternity!

Awesome! Now you have his musical spirit inside you for the rest of your life! 🎶😎
ladies and gentlemen this a real rock and roll by a true icon.
Wow! Awesome LIVE performance. Doesn't need autotune. Isn't lip synching. Doesn't need backing vocals. Definitely NOT a studio band. Rockin'!!!
"..... I said to the famous first star light....I said... next time.. next time we'll get it right!" Brilliant.
faintest?
oh, maybe. but i heard it like the FAMOUS first star light...which i relate to the Star of Bethlehem.
Grew up in Traverse...love this song. My dad's cousin went to high school and graduated with Bob, she said he was awesome. Gotta love Seger!
Bob Seger's music and Irish whiskey is the only thing that got me through 37 and a half years in a Ford Motor Company Factory. went to Seger concerts no matter where they were as often as I could.
Bob Seger one of the most under appreciated rock icons in history.

By far the greatest rock n roll act. Even this punk enjoys the real rock n roll!
Anybody else shed a tear when this was played during the closing credits of "Mask"?
To the younger generation...you missed out on real talented musicians like this. Great music.

A classic!!! God Bless Bob!!!
This song is legendary. Today's youth have no idea. I can't imagine being lost in hip hop/rap
Music today is nothing but a lot of noise 🙉

A voice: Seger's.

"Then I saw a Young Hawk Flying and My Soul Began to Rise"
Great song. But does anybody else hear the similarities with Neil Diamond's Shilo?
