Dave got outed for being at a treatment facility (apparently Heidi posted a picture or video of him and someone on the internet recognized the background) and that is what caused the cancelation fo the ConCon. Apparently Heidi had been saying he was going to be away on business for two weeks, and so obviously the plan had been for him to get treatment and then go to a freaking conference and life coach the crap out of people. Gross. He made the statement because he got caught. He was pretty specific in saying he contacted Rachel 3 weeks ago to tell her that he was struggling, suggesting that Rachel chose to put him on blast about a double life AFTER she knew he was struggling mentally. Also gross.

I’m going thru a breakup with a guy that has basically done this on a smaller scale. Got divorced and rushed into a relationship with me. Publicly talks about how much the divorce has destroyed him, how his mental health is garbage, etc. and it’s made me feel completely invisible, despite all the work and support I’ve put in. You just helped validate my feelings as the “Heidi” in so many ways 🖤
Hey Hope you're doing better. You deserve someone who is emotionally available, who treats you with love and respect. I got covid a few weeks ago too! Luckily i was vaxxed and boosted so i had a minor tickly throat and some sneezing but that's all. Sooo lucky. I went hunting for the statement from Congruent online and found it posted to the subreddit that discusses the Hollises. It’s nauseating. The whole thing sounds like a PR spin, painting Dave as this shining example of being “congruent” because he’s stepping back to take care of himself. Nah bro, we all heard Rachel’s podcast, she outed him and now you’re in damage control mode. I’m not going to speculate on what the issue Rachel alluded to is. What’s more interesting to me is the timing of her podcast statements. At that point, she knew he was in a residential treatment facility. She knew he hadn’t made that information public. She knew he was going forward with the conference anyway. Had she tried to talk to him privately and say hey, it’s not a good idea for you to do this conference right now, and he wouldn’t listen? Is this her way of trying to hold him (and herself a little bit) accountable for holding expensive marriage conferences while their own marriage was crumbling behind the scenes? Let me be clear, I do not condone her publicly throwing him under the bus. Nor do I condone him throwing her under the bus publicly either. But the timing and what Rachel knew makes me think this was her goal. They both need to stop throwing barbs at each other publicly though. That is going to do serious harm to their children. Get together and agree on what you’re going to say or not say to the public, and then deal with your sh!t privately. Your kids deserve that. They’ve already been traumatized by the divorce and now they probably feel so torn between their mom and dad. When my husband’s sister and her husband got divorced, she had every reason to badmouth him. But she didn’t. They have a child together and they committed to being there for him as his parents first and foremost. Neither of them have ever publicly spoken a negative word about each other, because their son’s wellbeing was more important to them than their own egos. As Kristina Kuzmic says, “Kids first, ego last.” Dave and Rachel, put your egos aside, and stop badmouthing each other.
The hardest part about my parents' divorce was having to listen to my mom disparage my dad after the fact. I understand that she was hurting and needed an outlet for those feelings, but it is not appropriate to put your kids in that situation. I cant imagine how much worse it would have felt had that all happened publicly. Those kids are going to need serious therapy unfortunately.
Very fair treatment. I hope that this is his "Come to harbor" moment? I'm trying to use language skipper Dave will understand. Point is, his ego took a huge blow, after the first book did go to the NYtimes bestseller list. This may be his real test of courage, to have this moment NOW, to deal with whatever he has to deal with...a supportive girlfriend, an understanding spouse who is wanting success for him as the father of her children, and I hope financially in a good place. It has been hard to make fun of him as each time he went on the internet it was more and more obvious, something was off. I would be first in line to say "Good for you!" if he decided to go back to corporate where he would be given praise for doing a good job, via his bosses and via the paycheck and bonuses. I'd love for him to walk down the street and NO ONE KNOW WHO HE IS, except people that worked for the same company he does. As much fun as it is to make fun of him, in the long run he's a dad that needs to have a good relationship with his children, and a human being that has had something to deal with for a long time. Will he come out an incredible story teller and writer? Will he come out to throw the biggest best darn conference with ax throwing ever? I hope those are not his goals, as that's never been his strength. Sometimes learning to accept your strengths and not want strengths other have, always longing to be something you are NOT, will rip you apart. Let's hope he gets great help for whatever.

I went hunting for the statement from Congruent online and found it posted to the subreddit that discusses the Hollises. It’s nauseating. The whole thing sounds like a PR spin, painting Dave as this shining example of being “congruent” because he’s stepping back to take care of himself. Nah bro, we all heard Rachel’s podcast, she outed him and now you’re in damage control mode. I’m not going to speculate on what the issue Rachel alluded to is. What’s more interesting to me is the timing of her podcast statements. At that point, she knew he was in a residential treatment facility. She knew he hadn’t made that information public. She knew he was going forward with the conference anyway. Had she tried to talk to him privately and say hey, it’s not a good idea for you to do this conference right now, and he wouldn’t listen? Is this her way of trying to hold him (and herself a little bit) accountable for holding expensive marriage conferences while their own marriage was crumbling behind the scenes? Let me be clear, I do not condone her publicly throwing him under the bus. Nor do I condone him throwing her under the bus publicly either. But the timing and what Rachel knew makes me think this was her goal.
They both need to stop throwing barbs at each other publicly though. That is going to do serious harm to their children. Get together and agree on what you’re going to say or not say to the public, and then deal with your sh!t privately. Your kids deserve that. They’ve already been traumatized by the divorce and now they probably feel so torn between their mom and dad. When my husband’s sister and her husband got divorced, she had every reason to badmouth him. But she didn’t. They have a child together and they committed to being there for him as his parents first and foremost. Neither of them have ever publicly spoken a negative word about each other, because their son’s wellbeing was more important to them than their own egos. As Kristina Kuzmic says, “Kids first, ego last.” Dave and Rachel, put your egos aside, and stop badmouthing each other.
The hardest part about my parents' divorce was having to listen to my mom disparage my dad after the fact. I understand that she was hurting and needed an outlet for those feelings, but it is not appropriate to put your kids in that situation. I cant imagine how much worse it would have felt had that all happened publicly. Those kids are going to need serious therapy unfortunately.
Very fair treatment. I hope that this is his "Come to harbor" moment? I'm trying to use language skipper Dave will understand. Point is, his ego took a huge blow, after the first book did go to the NYtimes bestseller list. This may be his real test of courage, to have this moment NOW, to deal with whatever he has to deal with...a supportive girlfriend, an understanding spouse who is wanting success for him as the father of her children, and I hope financially in a good place. It has been hard to make fun of him as each time he went on the internet it was more and more obvious, something was off. I would be first in line to say "Good for you!" if he decided to go back to corporate where he would be given praise for doing a good job, via his bosses and via the paycheck and bonuses. I'd love for him to walk down the street and NO ONE KNOW WHO HE IS, except people that worked for the same company he does. As much fun as it is to make fun of him, in the long run he's a dad that needs to have a good relationship with his children, and a human being that has had something to deal with for a long time. Will he come out an incredible story teller and writer? Will he come out to throw the biggest best darn conference with ax throwing ever? I hope those are not his goals, as that's never been his strength. Sometimes learning to accept your strengths and not want strengths other have, always longing to be something you are NOT, will rip you apart. Let's hope he gets great help for whatever.
Both him and Rachel are wounded but in different ways. She's the people pleaser, too hard on herself, have to pretend everything's ok bc in her family of origin everything had to look ok on the outside. He has the insecure ego, low self worth/ deep down hates himself, emotionally closed off/unavailable from the father wound. Wishing them both healing and wholeness. Its a journey.
I’m sorry you got Covid but I’m glad you’re testing negative now. I think you’re doing the right thing by not letting people know where you are for safety. I agree with you that Dave was being kind of gross about the feelings of his girlfriend & ex wife. Looking forward to seeing what happens from here & if he just disappears (it may be what’s best) but I don’t think for a second that Rachel will stop
Maybe Dave can develop some insight in therapy. Now that he’s going off social media, I hope he keeps his kids off, too. They deserve privacy and a dad who is present with them.

Noone is saying that, but based on dave's behavior and the constant "i didnt See it coming", my sympathies (regarding the divorce) lie with Rachel. And i do Not Like Rachel. It's Just that im Not buying the "i didnt know she wanted divorce" crap, because its either trying to Play the blame Game or sheer oblivion to His own marriage. And then you get this resentment through the "i went from Corporate to someone else's husband".... It's giving me Al the Red Flags i remember from a previous relationship where my ex did a similar Thing. Strung me along, then was surprised when i broke down the First time (that one was on me, i tried too hard to pretend i was fine and was too scared of conflict. Until i snapped). But then He Said He would Change and... Pulled the same stuff again. When i finally broke it off, He acted surprised again, because "we were doing good now". When we werent and He was repeating the same behaviours that He swore He would Change. Dave's insistence on that He did nothing to cause the divorce is what mostly Puts me in rachel's Corner, because its Just so delusional
