Why do Kristen's comments about/towards Bethany always seem so shady? 😭😂
The butt fixation had me in stitches lmao. But a lot of those fitness influencers have had surgery, are wearing buttpads or those thong leggings that emphasize the cheeks, are posing right after a glute workout (so they have a pump), and use lighting, angles etc to make themselves look better. Not to mention their entire job is working out/looking good. Normal people with jobs can't compete with that!

I think the pressure to be using every moment of your day to be doing something “meaningful” is dangerous thinking… I thought that way for a long time and put so much pressure on myself, and it led to me feeling perpetually guilty for not doing or being enough. It led to complete and utter burnout. Taking moments to rest and let your mind rest is so important (if that is on social media, do it and don’t feel guilty!).
Calling someone “lazy” when they might be in survival mode is just terrible.
I can't possibly agree more! It's ok to not always be "intentional" with your time. We don't need to always be productive. I also feel that the conversation can be a bit privileged, depending how it's approached, as it doesn't take into consideration anyone else's ability level, or unique life situation.
Win for the week: I’m so behind on all Internet related things, because I’ve been there a treatment program for 12 weeks in North Dakota, and while it’s been necessary work, watching your videos, and everyone else is on the subject is something I really enjoy doing, And I have missed one heck of a lot. That said, I just charge from this program this coming Wednesday, and today, since I’ve been in the partial hospitalization program for two weeks after transitioning out of inpatient, I had pizza with my husband today, for the first time in 6-7 years. That’s a BIG deal. My brain is screaming at me, telling me how much of a failure and shameful person I am, but I know that’s the ED talking and I keep doing the next right thing.

@heavenjb the first few weeks weren't that bad for me, but got a lot worse in week 9. I'm in week 10 now. Hopefully I feel better by the end of the first trimester. The fact that I can't eat enough due to nausea is making is worse I think.

My win for the week is I FINALLY UNLOCKED VIKTOR'S WORKSHOP IN SLIME RANCHER! If anyone has played that game, you know how anxiety-inducing it is to actually grind unlocking the expansion. Tarr in the Far, Far Range is pretty easy to deal with but in the Slimeulation? There's too many, they're terrifying, I'm trying to find the exit whilst splashing tarr and collecting the last flew glitches because I need all these bug reports................... Well, after HOURS of all that gameplay and panic, I did it. I unlocked the Workshop. And now I have about a hundred Tangle/Phosphor slime free ranging it and I gave them party glasses

@@NissaMaezHartmanI don't think there's anything wrong with having a mentor while teaching other mentors...therapists have their own therapists. That's not to say I support what they're doing, I think there's something *very* scammy and *very* grifty and *very* unsettling about these women and everything they do. But there will never be a day where someone knows everything and what to do in every situation, it's always a good idea to have guidance no matter what you do, even as a mentor or teacher.

Oh, my stars! Fazolis! I grew up in the Dallas area. There was one in Waco (about 2 hours south), and when we traveled to visit my family in Austin, we *might* stop there. The BREADSTICKS were to die for!

WFTW: I was patient with my injured brain and gave myself several nights to sleep on a logistical problem. This morning I had a brainstorm, and I figured it out! Whew. I can still think, the process is just slow. 😅
Recent purchase influenced by social media: I bought a crochet pattern for an elaborate butterfly wall hanging. It was recommended by a UA-camr I had just started following. Do I plan to hang this on my wall one day? No. Might I eventually use the butterfly portion for a tote bag or a top? Maybe. I'll forgive myself for buying it anyway!

My last impulse purchase was fabric. I was influenced to make a big cape. The one I saw on Instagram was gorgeous, and I wanted to be the type of person who would wear a dramatic cape. By the time the fabric arrived, I had a more practical plan. I made a skirt instead and wear it regularly. It's cute and moderately dramatic.
Work has been extremely busy and stressful and I decided to start meditating for 20 minutes every day to help release tension (it has helped me a lot in the past) and I actually did it every day this week 🤓
My WFTW is having my first ever psychiatry appointment! I chose a female nurse practitioner and I had a really good experience. I should have seen one as a child or at least a teen, but better at 28 than never!

I listen to audiobooks constantly. I love having something to keep me company while I wash dishes or work in the yard. Dont feel like it has to be edifying! A lot of books are just for fun!

Is this girl defined 'discovering' the concept of media literacy 😂 this is also another theme of a lack of self control it appears, and the only way they know how to counteract that is to restrict. Scrolling feels good and is fun, so we need to avoid it. They aren't able to or willing to reflect and think 'okay, why am I itching to pull out my phone in this moment and scroll? Am I hungry, anxious, lonely, or tired?' Which yes, that is the HALT method. I bet they also have a restriction on their favorite foods- especially desserts and rich foods that are 'bad'.
I also want to put out there: laziness is a word often used to make you feel guilty for resting. To make us feel bad for not absolutely milking every second of our waking hours so we are always productive. Idk about you, I'm not here on earth to constantly be productive. I don't believe in an afterlife, so I am going to make the most of this one, instead of evaluating every action or activity with 'does this serve me?' (when the idea of 'serving' meaning being productive or making one more 'godly'). I'm not gonna feel guilty about bopping around and doing fun stuff, or having some brain off time on IG!
my win: pushed myself to go to a potentially uncomfortable social event, and it turned out to be incredible! i have social phobia, but i’ve been making a lot of progress with my coping strategies. i was able to relax and connect with my friends at a deeper level, and it feels awesome!!

My win for the week is actually kinda something sad that turned out to be a blessing. My partner and I broke up, but I met someone closer to me who is more in the same stage of life as me and we have a date coming up soon. And I'm really excited! And though I did tell the story kind of fast, I did take some time for myself to get over being basically ghosted by my ex boyfriend.
I try not to buy a ton of stuff online, but I am a sucker for games. I'll see a new switch game and they'll get me to buy. Especially if it's indie. Influencers can get me to buy board games too but only if I see it in the store.
43:49 since leaving evangelical spaces and seeing more clearly how they are high control, the idea of accountability is such a huge part of it. Instead of learning to listen to your body and experiment with how much and what kind of social media is good for you, get an accountability partner. You can’t trust yourself because your heart is wicked at its core 🤢

I have an imaginary swear jar in my home that we all have to put imaginary money into whenever we call ourselves lazy. It's a very ugly word, and it's almost never true. It's okay to rest! For those who don't know, Kristen is finally pregnant after struggling with infertility for 12+ years, adopting two boys from Ukraine (I still don't like that she and Zack change their names and aren't allowed to speak in their native language) they're expecting a girl in June but don't get me wrong I'm not minimizing those who struggle with infertility, it must be hard for her when she was raised in an environment where motherhood is in a pedestal due to their religion, and she also said that she's prone to discontentment and disappointment and thought that adoption was going to change her when that wasn't the case at all, and she said that she wasn't feeling attracted to her husband on their wedding day. I'm not gonna lie, still feel bad for the boys, and I'm worried that they're going to be pushed aside or worst rehome them because Kristen and her husband are going to fully give all of their attention to their "Golden girl".

I don't know how to feel about their new content. It's kind of strange to hear them talking about something other than modesty and traditional gender roles. And moving to something that's actually relevant and relatable to most people. It's kind of refreshing? But like I don't know it could still have like a twinge of fundamentalism. Ooo my social media influence purchase: A veggie chopper that this nutritionist was promoting as an easy way to make salads. I had just been in an accident and struggling to cook for myself, so I bought it. I used it maybe twice before realizing that cleaning it would be tedious. I let it sit untouched for weeks and then tossed it when I saw it was growing mold 😂
Oh my gosh I have one of those too…I haven’t used it that much for the exact same reason lol. I’m trying to plan out meals so I can chop up a bunch of veggies at once and then not have to clean it as many times 😭

Hmm they had an interesting talk until she threw getting their membership, up into the mix! 🤭 after leaving abuse and dealing with health issues I got rid of most social media except for UA-cam. Most of the things I’m consuming now, are content where I feel like I’m learning something. Even if it’s slow living vlogs or travel. I put my phone in another room at bedtime. I’m very happy with how I consume my social media now. I’m still working on “finding me” again but I know I’m heading the right direction! My win for the week: really focusing on good sleep habits! After a MONTH of seeing this thing, I bought it. I've been wearing it nonstop since it came. Super comfortable, I don't even feel it. I feel like I did good! By me at least! LOL

For those who didn't know, Kristen is finally pregnant after struggling with 12+ years of infertility and adopting two boys from Ukraine, and they're expecting a girl due in June. To be honest, I still feel bad for the boys who were stripped of their culture, and I'm worried that she might push them aside or worst rehome them because Kristen finally got to have a biological child and she and her husband will pour all of their attention on the "Golden Girl".
