These SnapUps are really, really...REALLY nice. Especially if you are crawling under your car on wheel ramps laying on your back trying to line up the gasket and put bolts in also trying not to smear the spots of RTV on those areas they were talking about everywhere. It's better than an extra set of helping hands because it lines it right up and holds things perfectly in place on all 4 corners.
FelPro is good stuff. On the BMW n54 their valve cover gasket "the blue one" has 5 ridges compared to the others which only have 1 or 2. My buddy and I replaced ours at the same time. I went with the felpro which was slightly bit more in cost and he went with another brand. 3 years later his is leaking again. LOL
I have bought 2 felpro oil pan gaskets for my 2000 chevy tahoe Z71 with the 5.7, part # 0S 34500R. Neither had the torque stops that the gasket in this video displays. However, it appears that there were torque stops left behind on the 4 corner studs at some point. I discovered that there were actually 2 on one stud, which, I suspect, is why the gasket was leaking in that corner. I see that other gaskets on your table do not have the torque stops. Do I need them or not?
@ Fel-Pro - guys I just bought your transmission pan gasket for my Sequoia. Going to do the work tomorrow. The surface of the pan is completely flat, so no RTV at all then, right?
I took the advice from the guy at the parts store and applied a bead of rtv around the whole gasket. I guess now I shouldn’t have…but I haven’t put the oil back in the car. Will the gasket fail fail 100 percent or do I have a good chance it won’t fail??? Thanks
Hi John and crew, thanks for the video. Do you put a dab of RTV on the PAN SIDE OF THE GASKET as well where the 90 degree joint comes in? I tried the method of using RTV just against the block with the Fel-Pro rubber gasket and it failed in that area. Tried tightening to no avail (in fact made leak worse). Have a new gasket with a new pan and would like to get it right. Thank you!
Fel Pro gaskets yes. RTV no. Permatex No 2 all the way. Remove old gasket then use chlorinated brake cleaner on gasket surfaces until clean. No 2 is forgiving where RTV is not. Like putting in a silicone booger that will leak over time if there is any residue on the gasket or surface. Just my experience.
Snap up's are a life saver!!

You have to be old to know the phrase " A little dab will do ya." Helpful video thanks.
Yes, I caught that too. Age here is 76.

Hello my dipstick is broken in the motor I would like to know if I can remove the rest of the tube by the oil pan?

Whats the link for a small block chevy oil pan gasket??
I would like to know that also haven’t had a reply to my email ? I also found out there’s a thick and thin front seal
I would like to know as well , please
It depends on whether your dipstick is on the drivers or passenger side of the car
They do make a universal one though. Just search felpro sbc oil pan gasket and look for the “rubber with steel core” one
Can I purchase these snap-ups for specific vehicle models?
They go by thread diameter it seems like
Do u put rtv on both side are just 1side
The gasket comes with instructions. The instructions say only on the block side
Why doesn't Fel-Pro make an oil pan gasket for a 7.3 powerstroke?
Always 👍👍
Before Id consider using RTV which is reactive to mineral oil Id use Hylomar.....
How do I remove a freeze plug made of rubber
& the way the other dude says, “conversation”. I just hear Bobby’s World… “Now, don’t-cha-know-Baaahbbi…”
Replacing my 99 CRV Oil Pan gasket. The previous mechanic globbed RTV on everything & it leaked everywhere.
Did you get yours fixed? I had the same thing happen to me.

Less is more. Ask me how I know. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
To bad fel pro don't make a 1969 oldsmobile 442 400 ci oil pan gasket one piece
It would be as easy as that if the engine could flip it over like that. But you can't.
Can I reuse my gasket ?
what do you think
How poor can you be
I really hate the way you say gasket, lol.
