I never understood why Magical Hats shuffled 1 Monster with 2 Spells/Traps, when it always had 4 hats in the anime. There are also 4 hats on the card art, yet it shuffles 3 hats around. It could have at least set itself as the fourth hat, for the effect.

My friend played Fabled competitively during this time. He had a brilliant side board that would smokescreen into Skill Drain, Barbaros, and Horn of the Phantom Beast. He'd side out some of the little guys but like Ganashia was still a 1600 (1800 if Skill Drain wasn't up) beat stick that could special and was a Horn target. It was so effective because becoming a stun deck game 2 was a total 180 from the combo deck it was game 1 and people often sided into completely dead cards thinking they were still playing combo. Also, why is there no Fabled Raven in this list? It was a secret in DREV so it should definitely have been out by this time.

@@Weissolation Thanks for letting me know. After watching it, I'm realizing that it's a rather bad deck, even now. Going to have to thoroughly rethink my Barbaros deck strategy, based on that.

FA-BLED! FA-BLED! FA-BLED! WOOOOOOOO! I have been waiting for this episode for months. Pity you didn't use the plant engine, T.G. Hyper Librarian, or even Phantom Skyblaster, which are all *insane* in Fabled. My variant of choice was Chaos Fabled (which is basically just Fabled + BLS) mostly because Snipe Hunter and Skyblaster make such a great case for dark splashing anyway, and that's not even counting instant fusion targets. There are a TON of quick potent Fabled combos when you know what you're doing. If you have Kushano and Grimro in the graveyard, Krus becomes a one-card board wipe. (Discard krus for kush, special summon grim, summon kush, kush into grim for black rose, nuke.) And if you have Skyblaster, Chawa and Cerburrel, you have a three-card Trishula + Brio if you sequence right. (Discard Cerb for Chawa, summon Skyblaster, summon 2 Skyblaster tokens, Cerb into Skyblaster for Brio, Chawa into tokens for Trish.) There are even some Fabled sequences that end on Quasar, but they're considerably less reliable. It all comes down to knowing what synchro you need and knowing how to get there with what you've got. The thing about Fabled is that you need to run monster heavy. 25 at least because most of your monsters are basically spells with legs, so syncing up will usually produce small frys like Ragin and Catastor.
So nostalgic. I used love to play fabled as a fun deck and my brother loves magical hats as a fun deck as well. We've had this matchup many-a-time over the years.
Wow, this is finally the day. I love Fableds. They were MY deck back in the day. For the first time I stuck to any archetype and had like combos. When I finally got Unicore, I finally had some outs for my friends and their machine and Naturia decks lol
