Haha, Chitlins! Chitlins (CHitlinz) is short for Chitterlings, which are Pig Intestines, like the Pork Rinds you see in the chips section at the store. The armor is Chitin (Kītn - KaiTin), no "L", which is in the exoskeleton of arthropods and the cell walls of fungi, it's kind of like bone. Imagine running around in armor made of fried intestines. This is a great guide for this milestone! Exactly what I needed and more. Thanks so much. I never knew that the triangle guys were “summoners” which is a game changer for me. I never knew sentinels approach from the direction you are facing, game changer as well. I never really gave sentinels a lot of thought because I could usually avoid them, which was safer. Now I have the skills to go ham on them. Question - what do you think about the Minotaur exocraft to combat sentinels and handle this milestone? That beast let me take out multiple waves of sentinels with ease, but had some issues with mobility once I got to the walkers (i.e. kept ending up turned around and got killed). Almost seems like it would be easier on foot as you did in the video. Thanks and sorry for this super long comment 😂
Sorry, but I can’t stay silent when you call the reward armor “chitlins.” Chitlins are a Southern snack food, made {I think) from fried pork skin. ( I see that someone has already said they are made from pig intestine, which sounds right.) The armor is made of chitin, pronounced “KY-tin” with hard K, accent on first syllable, rhyming with “PIE tin.” This makes sense because chitin is the material of real arthropod armor, as with roaches or lobsters. I wasn’t going to be that person, but you said “chitlins” very clearly one more time and that broke my resolve to not be pissy. Now you know, and you get the small reward of knowing that the material of the armor makes sense given that it came from blowing up bugs. More sense than pig intestines. Other than this small detail, great instructive stream as always. Thank you.
One thing to keep in mind about the mech parts; if you don't want to keep your expedition save going for whatever reason, you can still earn and by the parts for the quicksilver vendor on regular saves. you don't have to keep the expedition save to get them.
It's odd they didn't include Chitin legs. Looks a little cheesy having Chitin Armor on everything but our legs, but I guess it's always been that way since "Armor" sits on top of our "Torso", and our limb options have always looked kind of naturally Plated. I think the Spacesuit, like you chose, is the best look for an "Under Armor".
When you arrived at Dropzone 5, the planets were "undiscovered" This means you werent connected to the Discovery server AND this means your kills of Horrors and Brood were NOT COUNTING towards the community effort It really really sucks, i havent been connected to Discovery for the entire thing, and ive been taking my time, not rushing through it IDK how were are going to get through all stages with no Discovery servers

"the notification won't pop up if you are in combat" yeah right, i wish... i've had to dismiss several mid combat. appreciate the video, i was wondering how to get the walkers.. doesn't seem to work on the corrupted ones, i fought waves of them till they just stopped coming no walker, just a bunch of varying sizes of the 4 legged ones, some which kept cloaking.
No matter how many sentinels I kill and how many stars I get, I'm stuck on just 2/4 walkers and no more walkers appear...any ideas why? Just ends the spawns after 5 waves and no walkers.
Does it matter if I started a separate save file for this expedition? I plan to end it once all optional milestones are completed. Is it better to turn it into a normal save?

I cant play. My ships are being changed to basic ass ships. I lost my iron Vulture and cannot find any place to make a built one thats as good as the one i got from the last expedition. I told sean on x and i put in a bug report on zendesk so im still waiting to get in without losing more ships because they wont change the ship customizations so we can freely make what we want and change the supercharge slots and go back and atleast recolor the ships if we want at anytime because they've made the game so easy now anyway and you can make it free to do whatever at any point so why not let us create whatever we want whenever we want because it would be so much more fun for end gamers who have absolutely no reason to do other storys in the game when youve done them so many times. The game is expeditions and making ships now so open it up is the best way forward i believe.

Everybody's saying it's capped at 50 kills per day, but mine stopped at 50 yesterday and is still at 50 today and won't go up. It says "50 and counting", but stays at 50. Any ideas about this? This is on Xbox. Starting PS5 tonight.
Jason on your online discovery page In no mans sky, does its say cant connect to discoveries? I have a bug where it says cant connect to the online discovery page after the worlds update But im fully online can see players in the nexus and can play other game online so it must be a bug in game. Question is ANYONE else having this issue? I'm concerned, cause I want my Kills to count and if the online discoveries are broken then whats the point?
I get that it's (probably, I'm not a programmer or game designer) easier to use the existing infrastructure when putting milestones together, but I'd love to see something else for Expedition tasks. For the "kill 4 Sentinel walkers" task, create a building/resource/ship/whatever that's guarded by a pack of walkers, then have us clear for such locations. It's a real grind to have to do 20 standard waves of Sentinels for one milestone.
you don't... have to clear the final wave - just kill the walker, run away until your 'wanted level' drops down to 3 or 4 i think it drops down to 3 from 5 if you lose agro long enough. then just clear 3 and 4 to get a walker again. Edit; lmao as soon as i hit send - he says the same thing in the video. /facepalm
@@andylalor225 can't you just run away after you kill the 1st on level 5 - i've had the threat level drop from 5 to like 3 before. you can do that to farm them on the same planet right?
@macgw86 I'm going off of my own experience (790 hours) and what Jason did in this video. When I'm playing, the walkers come out at level 5, so you have to destroy 4 waves before one appears. And this milestone requires the killing of 4 walkers. I'm not able to play this expedition (had thumb surgery), so perhaps it's different for this event. I'm not the burning bush, just a player voicing an opinion.
I ended my expedition. In my opinion the rewards arent worth it if they cap the daily limit. 48% in a week on one phase. Highly doubt it will finish all 5 phases in 6 weeks.
Go back to your main save and head to the expedition computer in the anomaly. You'll be able to copy the ship from there and add it to your collection.

I don’t know why, but for me after leaving a planet, going into another planets atmosphere cause a lot of large when the camera is pointed at the sky

Purge by Fire is really slow. Wonder if 6 weeks is enough to complete all 5? Just over a week and only halfway.

I finished mine today too I wish we would of got a new ship but I did get me a A class sentinel ship that I copied over so it was cool
