I am of the view that its scratching coz of the screen protector. Corning Glass should be tougher than the screen protector isnt it. Therefore if the Axon is not scratching you are comparing its real glass screen to a screen protector on the 3.

Right? I had never heard of the Axon and I was hesitant to even look at a ZTE phone. But after watching numerous videos, they sold me and I got my Axon Pro during Prime Day and never looked back! This phone is awesome and I'm more than likely to buy the Axon 7 as well.
+MiBerzerk compared, 7 is a slight upgrade. The only reason I'd buy 7 is just because it has a SD slot and I have a lot of music on my card. Other than that, I'm more than happy with my Pro.

* Better screen resolution and larger display
* Bigger battery
* Unique design
* Cheaper and comes with more high quality accessories
Op3:
* more ram 6 vs 4 (though there's a 6gb axon as well)
* Better camera right now, but that could change
* Slightly faster charging
OP3 may be faster with load times in some apps, however if you tweak the screen resolution on the axon this would be a tie, and the axon would normally look better.
So the axon you'll have the option of nearly identical performance and better battery life or better visuals.. Also vr potential. Idk what's not to like about having the option.
Also If you order from many places you'll get bonuses with the axon like good headphones, gift cards, etc.
Oh and op3 has best software atm and both are going to be capable of custom roms

But it's still not as much of a value because it doesn't come with anything but the phone and dash charger in the box.
The axon 7 includes some decent jbl headphones, a slim case, a micro usb to type C adaptor and quick 3.0 charger.
Also if you order from b&h, newegg or a few others you'll get bonuses with the axon.
For example newegg throws in some monster DJ Pulse headphones that used to be $200 alone (realistically worth maybe 50-100 now, but still a great pair).

Axon 7 is just a better phone, face it guys. Op3 looks (slightly) better tho. Still im glad i haven't bought an op3 im going with the axon.
Oneplus 3 also has better battery life and throttles less, meaning performance in games will be better. Getting 5-6 hours most days with the OnePlus 3. I think the worst I've got when playing a game for 3 hours was still over 4 hours overall.
One Plus 3 is slightly superior overall but the ZTE isn't a bad choice either... Bottom line is you can't go wrong with any of these handsets.

This review is so biased towards the axon 7. Fair enough when the axon wins in certain categories but trying to brush off the one plus' advantages in others smh
E.g. Zte has amazing speakers, screen, and battery and the OP3 has better ram, fingerprint reading and speed (all 3 of which they try to pass off as irrelevant or not noticeable. Its noticeable, I have owned both phones.) Not to mention destroys the zte in the camera department. Rewatch the comparison, its a complete joke to say the zte outdoes the OP3. (I have used both phones and side with neither. Just pointing out how bad this comparison is.)

+LBS your tests where you start test "at the same time". using the start up time of apps like youtube as a test. while the start up time of the youtube app and web pages are also depending on the internet connection.
if you are not using a router which supports mu mimo, the results are completely random and depending on which phone is given internet acces by your router first. so those test says nkthing about the phones but something about your router

I thought the same thing. tests done ON UA-cam mind you show the exact opposite of what he said. the op3 had better battery life and a way better camera. it's been all over the board that the op3 camera is leaps and bounds better then the Axon 7

You know that there are going to be people like me disagreeing then backing up statements with facts. When phones are this close it comes down to personal preference although I think that the OnePlus 3 is a better choice

Also does expandable storage really matter when you have 64gb, I have used it since I had a OnePlus one and I think that it is enough.
If this argument was allowed to go on, it will end up as a circle jerk of stacked evidence. Just pick the one you like and leave it that way

I'm loving my Axon 7 with 128GB and 6GB ram. I've had OnePlus 1,2,x, and now I've switched. I've wanted dual speakers forever! and now, I also get a 2year included warranty, and a QHD screen that doesn't compromise the battery life. Also! the MiFavor user interface is ugly and I dislike it, so I use Nova Launcher, from the play store, and it's just as awesome as my OnePlus phones. Lastly, the backlight buttons are missed very much, and the MiPop feature helps, but they need to include back lights next year, definitely. Also, the finger print is very accurate and fast, and for anyone that disagrees, then I recommend deleting and reprogramming you finger print. Maybe you didn't scan the edges if your fingertips enough, or you didn't scan your print with casual hand holding angles.
I like that ZTE Axon 7 and using a ZTE phone right now 😂
was waiting for this vid.... wasn't disappointed, another good job Bailey. I liked the small personal points like about the screen scratching and the Axon's notification annoyance. these details are what people need to know from hands on experience.

Too bad opinions aren't relevant as everyone's is different. I think the OP is ugly and boring. It looks like almost every other phone made the past two years. But the functions are what really matters, and it's clearly down in almost all of them except a few fractions of a second in opening some apps. To each his own, buy what you want for the reasons you want.

Even though the OP3 has the option for the on-screen keys, the axon 7 has the mi-pop feature where you can have a back button on your screen. You also have other functions when you long press or when you press and swipe. I've seen only 1 UA-camr mention the mi-pop feature

Heyyo, err Android Authority gave OnePlus One an awesome image... but seriously, the ZTE Axon 7 has so many better design wins... stereo front facing speakers, their 2 year warranty sounds amazing compared to OnePlus's 1 year, Qualcomm quickcharge 3.0 instead of being locked down to dash charge parietary, SD card... there's stuff like QHD which is handy for VR content and higher brightness... so yeah, for the same price? ZTE Axon 7 has some REALLY big wins (speakers + SD Card + 2 Year Warranty) and other wins.. OP3 has 6GB of RAM and a little faster fingerprint reader... I own a OPO, but if my phone were to die? ZTE Axon 7 wins for me purely for the stereo front facing speakers and the warranty and QHD for VR (got my Cmoar headset coming down the line).

Don't forget about the high-end DAC and amp in the headphone jack. That's a huge selling point for people like me.
The Axon has better Battery Life but overall yeah that's a quick overall statement on what each has pros in, you also have to mention carrier compatibility.

WenJuckts everyone says the S7 has better battery life than the HTC 10, yet it takes around 9-11 hours for me to kill the battery even when I don't lock the phone and use it continuously. Peoples results vary on useage probably he uses an App with a high Sync rate and the OP3 doesn't have proper management for the app which the Axon 7 is capable of. Maybe the OP3 has problems connecting to the carrier (which drains battery life hardcore) that he is using with it while the Axon is perfectly fine which is actually more of a possibility since the OP3 has very little carrier comparability compared to the Axon.
Fingerprint scanner on the back, right where it should be. The Axon looks gorgeous, front facing speakers and don't forget the Oneplus 3 is not available in most countries. Axon 7 just killed the "flagship killer" Only OnePlus fanboiz will support that loser company that had a shitty invite system. Oh and the nexus 6p can be found for $399. That makes the OP3 less of a good deal in the price bracket.

Michael Oguntimehin I've owned all Nexus devices since day one. I could tell Jon Sanything about Android. Including what I consider the original Nexus, the HTC Dream aka G1. Rooted and flashed CyanogenMod on every single Android device I've owned. The only pure Android device I've never used is the Nexus Q. Handled and used every version of Android including pre Cupcake. I can go on but what do I know about Android or phones, or tablets, or watches, or Fire sticks, or raspberry pi, or Android auto,.......... ok I've hammered that point safely in the ground.

I purchased the Axon and I love this phone. It is without a doubt the best Android phone I've ever owned. Great screen, audio, build, and performance is fantastic. Both phones are great, the axon fit my lifestyle needs better. Great job ZTE, you have my respect.

just as a fyi....the bootloader can be unlocked if you get ahold of ZTE. but if you unlock the bootloader it voids your warranty. this info was released recently.

very clear and fair review bud, you sound like a young Tim Cook. I bought the oneplus 3 for the ROM selection and developer support but the axon is a very tempting alternative for media consumption I just wish it come in black.

I look at the bashers as this : You bought a ZTE Axon 7 and you don`t like them saying anything against it or you bought a OnePlus 3 and you don`t like anything said about that. Although the battery is large I am so glad i stuck with my MOTOROLA DYNATAC 8000X :/

I see in your video that the ZTE has an app drawer but you can read everywhere that it dont have one. Did you use a launcher or came it out of the box with the app drawer?

all android phones have an app drawer ,there was one on the very fist android phone to be produced , anyways im here cuz i might try to get this phone , rarely do i ever hear about phones other than the iphones and samsung but i decided i would take a look at a new one and found this , me personally i love the camera , the design , and the resolution of the axon 7 based off this video , also i have found it is cheaper than the oneplus3 on amazon and i have found a nice looking red case for the grey body of the phone i plan to get . Im glad i found out about this phone and that i could find one i wanted , i see phones but most always have something don't like like blu phones put their logo on the front and crappy speakers and i want a phone with finger print scanner , so after hours of looking for the best phone for the lowest cost out there i am happy to say im planning on getting the axon 7

I'm interested in that Axon 7.. some test has been made and it shows that Axon 7 don't do well at multitasking. Perhaps that compliments it's better battery life..

all these review videos say you cant change the notification bell on the Axon 7. You can. A good reviewer would check all settings before making a video. Make sure you choose to give notifications the priority. If the lock screen has priority you will get a bell everytime :-)
The scratch on the OnePlus 3 is because it already has a tempered glass protection layer from factory. If you remove it the screen underneath won't be scratched.

Seeing as ZTE announced the bootloader is now unlocked, it makes for a more compelling option, because i don't think I could stick with MiFavor UI. And while yes, I could use a launcher, there are some underlying quirks that I just can't deal with.
Very great comparison between the two phones. I already ordered and am waiting for my axon 7 phone. For those of you who say he is not a good reviewer and is more on the side of the axon 7, he tried both phones and came to his conclusion. I'm sure many of you have one plus 3 and are defending it at all costs. Don't judge until you try it yourself. Every phone has its flaws, no phone is perfect. You have to live with the flaws of your phone and make the best out of it. Based on this, I am actually leaning towards the axon 7 and there is a good chance software updates might improve low light pics of the camera.

I cant comment on the op3, but I can on the Axon 7 because I own 1. The Axon 7 is the phone HTC should have built. Overall audio quality is great and it's pretty loud. the camera is good, but I'm not trying to run a photo studio with my phone. yes the u.i. needs some polishing but according to ZTE, more updates are in the works. overall I'm happy with the hardware side of the device. if your looking at it after watching this review it's worth it. also check out ZTE community forum.

I wanted phone for 2/3 years usage, so I ordered OP3 with lower resolution (VR it's not for me-not yet), amazing 6 GB of RAM (multitasking OP3 is tremendous and I don't have to worry about Nougat split screen feature), balzing fast fingerprint scanner, very good cameras, nice nearly stock customizable OS with Dark theme/mode, sRGB and Ambient Display, great build quality, the fastest charging in the world, better social support and 2 years warranty (UE law).

It's simply not possible that the OP3's screen scratches more easily. Both are Gorilla Glass and as JerryRigEverything has proven, all of the same generation Gorilla Glass phones scratch the same.
Got my Axon for 320 on Amazon. For that price it beats the crap out of the one plus 3.

You only get 4 hours of screen on time with your OP3?? With mine I can easily get 5 or 6 - I currently have 2hrs 37mins of SOT and have dropped to 71%

I heard Axon 7 doesn't run well on the Verizon network. I was sold on the phone and thought this was the one for me but I am currently on Verizon. Anybody have any further information on this or if it is even true. This video seems to state that Axon 7 runs on all major carriers.

Oneplus 3 wins for me because of the better software and faster charging. I use headphones/bluetooth speakers all the time and don't really care about VR so the oneplus definitely takes my attention
Props to Android authority for also comparing the custom ROM support. I know it varies by time but it matters to the many of the power users and the main demographic for these phones. I wish more reviewers put effort into checking out the development support of devices. I myself picked up OP3 because OnePlus development support is second to only nexus devices.

i love the oneplus3. i support oneplus fully but this axon 7 released and it has an sd card slot, and the lack there of in the op3 is honestly a deal breaker. i have a slow lg g3 rn with a 1440 display and i love it, so im happy i'll get to keep it with the axon 7, i've never had front facing speakers but i heard they were great, and the axon 7 in particular has fairly good quality speakers on top of it
