Man, that scene where Jecht sacrifices himself for Tidus always gets me.
Tidus was always one of my favorite characters in this game. I can totally relate to his problems with Jecht and seeing his short but sweet interactions with Yuna kinda makes me wanna play Final Fantasy X. I love Firion and Squall more but Tidus is definitely one of my favorite characters in this game. Definitely a 3rd favorite.
I admit I've not played X yet, but I wonder why Tidus and Jecht "swapped sides" during the stories. I guess part of it was the emotions they felt toward each other still, despite being deemed "enemies" in the main game?
I kinda see Jecht like Golbez during Duodecim; Yes, a warrior of Chaos, but still cares for his kin - Like Golbez cares about not only Cecil, but even encourages and hints other Cosmos warriors on how to do stuff.
But also the scene where Tidus runs by, yelling...I love that every time.
Exactly. Without going into spoilers, a major subplot in X is that Tidus hates Jecht and would punch his lights out if they met again, but it's one-sided on Tidus' part and Jecht, while a crappy father, was overall a decent guy.
Thus Jecht is on the side of Cosmos at first, and Tidus, having no memories, is easily manipulated against Jecht.
Because in the 012 story, after Tidus was almost killed by the Emperor, Jecht gave his own life force which was imbued by Cosmo’s light to revive him.
Thus, Tidus was revived in the next cycle as Cosmo’s warrior while the Emperor took Jecht to Chaos to be revived as a villain
I don't know why, but I can imagine him and Sora getting along (I'm talking this Tidus, not the one from Sora's world).
Makes me kinda sad that Tidus and Wakka never returned from the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 1 I feel like I'm the only one who would've loved seeing Wakka, Tidus and Selphie all return in Kingdom Hearts in some sort of boss fight like on Destiny Island

I have but am not going to. I don't have the means to easily record from my PS4, and there are other NT story compilations already.

What’s the story with Tidus being evil? Dissidia 012 restarting cycles and erasing memories?
Exactly, he had no memories but for his hatred of Jecht. Although, why Chaos called him - or Cloud or Terra - in the first place is unclear.
