Thank for watching everyone, this was a big one I've wanted to make for a long time now and definitely felt the pressure to make this a good quality video so if you did enjoy it a Like or Comment would mean a lot, hoping to have this reach as many people as possible so your interaction really helps with achieving that goal
When this game came out I was Rikku's age (14), I just played it again recently now that I am Auron's age (35). This game has aged far better than I have, still has my favorite turn based fighting mechanics and still the most fun leveling system of any game I've played.
Ditto this. Im 39 this year. FFX was my first Final Fantasy and is still my favorite. I played 7 and 8 and tried to play 9 afterward. Great games, but Squall and Cloud were the same brooding character, a common trope (Auron is similar). I liked that Tidus wasn't perfect or that annoying "walking into the wind" character. His goofy ass grows and he shows flaws (he cried more than once). The only character I didn't enjoy was the Ronso. Also, I dodged 200 lightning bolts...
FFX is the game that helped me break out of my shell and begin to explore the things i personally love. I grew up in a hood around tons of gangs both in and out of family. Liking these kinds of games were almost taboo because of how much flak and stuff you'll get from friends and family. I just was sick of always being around fights, drama, and sleepless nights i started playing games like GTA, Fighting games. Only "hood" games. But once i exhausted those I was given FFX from a school friend because he said it sucked. I was always home alone so once i popped this game in, instantly i was hooked after the first time in Zanarkand. That friday when i went back home to be alone for more or less through the whole weekend when family left on a trip i spent the entire time heating up ramen and playing FFX late into the night, through the whole weekend. I'll never forget FFX that was one of the first games where i truly immersed myself in a fantasy, and when i learned i was into goth chicks, ty lulu. This game will always have a special place in my soul.
Don't worry guys, similiar history here, most of those people who used to bash on me for playing these games, are now in prison, dead or major drug addicts. So who's the lame people now? One Love.
Dude ramen and final fantasy X totally explains my summer of 2003 when I found this game. Literally the only RPG I've ever played and loved cuz like you games was never an ok thing how I grew up unless it was madden or need for speed. Haven't had a console for 6 years and just bought my son a PS5 and what's the first game I buy? FFX remaster for ps4 haha
It’s probably more people’s favourite than any other.. It’s hands down the best FF game ever made if you look at them just as games in terms of how good a game they are, gameplay, story, soundtrack, world building etc.. No other FF comes close.. But people have their favourites of course and will feel certain ways about each one.. Still, hands down the best, almost perfect
same, i have watched so many ff game reviews leading up to the release of ffxvi, haha. ffx is my personal favorite, as well, and most people i've seen rank it in their top 3 or 4 along with ffvi, ffvii, and ffix
FFX is very special to me and you did a fantastic job covering it and also definitely keep up the spoiler section in future videos as its good to hear your thoughts on how stories affect you personally and if you did NieR Automata which I recommend as priority then half the video might be spoiler filled ☺️
Appreciate the feedback! I definitely think it's something I'll keep moving forward especially for the bigger videos (Nier Automata is an example of one for sure)
This review is incredible. FFX is my favourite as well, and probably my favourite game ever. I resonatedwith what you said about To Zanarkand. It is one of the best pieces of music in all of gaming. So much so that I've put it in my dying wishes to be played at my funeral
I replay this game about 5 times a year. It’s such a great game and it never gets boring for me. I love that it’s a big game with an even bigger story. I will forever love FFX. It’s my all time favorite game.
21 years..? 21 years... It's kinda emotional thinking that all of us who played the game on release, we've all grown up and living our own lives and stories. But equally not all of us made it, a best mate of mine adored this game, like it was his thing. He ended up losing his battle to depression. Time stopped for him, but for the rest of us, we've all had to grow up. 21 fkn years...
I got it for Christmas after it came out. I remember not having a memory card at the time, but I wanted to play so bad I just left on my ps2 and eventually got a memory card.
It was wonderful hearing you do a retrospective on my favourite FF game. The characters, story and message in this game meant so much to me growing up in a difficult time in my life. And it was a pleasure to hear your thoughts on it.
Hello phantom strider hope you see this !! I played 15 hours of this (got to rikku) then quit!! Should I play it again , thinking of doing after beating persona 4
@@harveysoloconvo Personally I've replayed and finished the game 5 times over the last 19 years, so personally yeah I recommend playing it 😄 But if you quit, then maybe it's not for you, which is fine :)
@@phantomstrider aaah cool! Ive decided to play it over again with a new look!! Been watching you for a long time love your positivity and all respect ✌️✌️✌️
Final Fantasy of all time. Played this game for the first time at the beginning of this year and I already feel like I want to replay it.. Tidus and Yuna just can't escape my mind. Great video btw!
Thanks man, you've said everything, why we love it, its strength, its weaknesses, what it feels like, and all this without any spoilers. I can't express enough how amazed I am by the work you put into this video. You've made my day 😊
FFX will always be my favorite in the franchise. You definitely did this video justice in the way you presented it. Please keep up the good work. Can you do KH 1&2?
My favorite jRPG, played it 20 years ago in a difficult moment in my life. I really have fond memories of it, love its characters and world, they are well designed and engaging. i remember as a kid that i had a crush on Yuna.
I recommended my best friend play this a few months ago. They fell in love with the game. I was almost jealous (VERY jealous actually) that they got to experience this story for the first time. It’s beautiful.
Only game that I ever cried at. Every detail about this game is transporting, and if you play it during a pivotal point in your own development you will may get dangerously close to ending it all out of the despair you feel for the fact that you have to leave this world and come back to reality. The game is pure power, poetry, passion. A true masterpiece from a long lost era in game development. Be ready to play one of, if not the best, game ever created. And I don’t stake that claim lightly. Praise be to Yevon.
Not to be disrespectful, but if this was the only game you cried at, you have not played many games. Don't get me wrong, this game will *absolutely* do that, but expanding your game catalog will show you there are quite a few others as well.
@@jacksquatt6082 its also the only game I have cried at, and I have played alot of games. Some people don't cry as easily as you, so don't make assumptions like that.
@@moonflow5133 I'm just saying there are some really emotionally impactful games out there. The Last of Us and Disco Elysium are two that immediately jump to mind.
FFX's story is truly a profound tale of self-discovery for each of the characters. Yuna remains the highlight but each person gets enough narrative that by the end they've grown dramatically. Wakka letting go of his racism, Lulu moves on from her failures as a guardian and losing her previous love, Kimahri discovering his Ronso pride, Auron fulfilling his friend's wishes, and Rikku stopping to try and control those she loves. I really didn't like how the sequels kinda undermined the final speech given by Yuna. That sacrifice is necessary for change and despite losing many the memories will live on through those who survive. A positive take opposed to Yu Yevon, creating a dream from its memories that would never die leading to more suffering.
I literally grew up playing FFX. It has been my absolute favorite game ever. I have played and beaten it countless times and it still holds up as my all time favorite. I adore the other ff entries minus 8, couldn't get hooked and never played 11. The other are all A+. But I don't know what it is with FFX, but it has had me completely addicted to every aspect of it.
Had this on pre-order with my brand new PS2... and I was lucky enough to get chickenpox THE DAY BEFORE 😂😂. So I had 10 days off school to binge play this game. I love it. Always a toss up between this and 7 for me. I ayed this when I was 14 though, so the story hit differently for me. And yes, the intro Blitzball scene is the best gaming intro EVER. 👌
From the title: THIS AINT A QUESTION! its always worth it. Played possibly ten times through eversince its release, last time this year....ohmy, what banger of a game. Thank you for the video🙌
Being born in 93 this game popped up at such a pivotal time for me. I dont think i ever made it to zanarkand back then, getting stuck at the second Seymour transformation, but I'd argue it had a similar effect on me as you described
92 here and feel exactly the same hell I even got stuck on Seymour's second transformation as well 😂 I owe a lot to final fantasy x as it was the game that made me fall in love with Jrpgs after I completed this game I couldn't get enough of the genre and lucky for me The PS2 was a monster for them
FFX what a true masterpiece of a Game. no other game has ever been able to fully immerse me so whole heartedly as much as FFX did, you become apart of the world and emotionally invested in it. Thankyou for making this video it let me revisit this wonderful Game again
FFX is definitely worth playing in 2022! Not just for what it is, but for what it accomplishes: an extremely well-made game with amazing gameplay, story, characters, and world complete with good voice acting & gorgeous 3D environments. Also, Tidus & Yuna's relationship is a bit similar to Alphen & Shionne's.
@@reliableprez Sorry just really hate this game and I know it's petty but it winds me right up that so many people seem to think it's the best in the series or even a good game in general. It's a corridor. Filled with either obnoxious or boring characters. After the heights of 6, 7, 8 & 9 this game was soul crushing to me and I will burn with hatred for it until the day I die. Nothing personal ^.^;
@@silveracid1344I still like 10 but I can see your criticism and dislike as valid not just as an opinion. Was there anything you found decent about 10? Or completely hated it?
This was the first Final Fantasy game I remember playing on my Silver PS2 Slim as a kid during the mid 2000s. Luckily, I still have that game in my PS2 collection. Those were the best times.
I played this game for the first time last year, it was my first Final Fantasy game and it absolutely blew me away. I think I ended up putting more than 200 hours into it in the end. I absolutely adore the soundtrack so much that I ended up travelling to another country to go see the Distant Worlds concert just weeks after my first ever FF game, and was absolutely blessed to witness Rikki in the flesh singing Suteki Da Ne. I honestly teared up a little at both that and To Zanarkand.
oh i agree, i loooove the soundtrack. i don't love every single region theme but i love to zanarkand, suteki da ne, and the hymn of the faythe (and how there are so many different renditions of it depending which temple you're at!), and how the themes of those three songs in particular are repeated as motifs in many different tracks. via purifico is another beautiful one, and i know the battle theme gets really annoying after a while but as an individual composition it's very cool. and then of course there's that rock song that plays in the opening cutscene and one of the last ones that is so hype. and i think ffx as well does a very good job of capturing the mood of the location/cutscene/boss fight through music which surprisingly i can't say about all games. the music really enhances the game.
The cutscenes in this are amazing for it's time. When Yuna does the first sending after the island village is decimated it was extremely emotional. The story was amazing and I really appreciate your take on this. Thank you for this review!
The cutscenes are still amazing even by modern standards. Full mo-cap with genuinely good acting and voice acting is something that's still surprisingly rare. And yes, we do know that it's full mo-cap, because of boundary break discovering that many in-engine cutscenes actually extend beyond the camera's perspective, which pretty much straight up would never happen with non mocap.
Im always enjoying to listen to your FF videos, because it is always exciting to watch them. Im very glad that you are making these kinds of videos. Im really enjoying them. Im waiting for the next parts of the FF games. Thank u for u time and videos
2024 Im replaying the remaster version now on my PS Vita. Played this game as a kid when it First came out. Cant believe i was able to get thru it as hard as it is for me now crazy 😅
This is my actual favorite game of all time. I’m not sure if I played for the first time today if I could enjoy the story on the same level. But this story is firmly fixed to my formative years in a way that will make me love these characters and this story forever.
FF10 is the last Colorful Fantastical, Imaginative Final Fantasy in the series. Just look at everything else that came after it. They're all grimdark and Game of Thrones wannabes. Just look at FF15 and the upcoming FF16. They are basically indistinguishable from each other. :)
I actually like how challenging the temple puzzles are. I love this game. This game 6,7,9 and 12 are my favorites. 12 for the world not really the story.
There are two things i like to bring up about the hallway concept here. Number 1, treasures aren't shown on ff10 map, so when you're exploring any slightly small path, the reward is a surprise, where in ff13 you can quickly learn to avoid branching paths if you know there is nothings. Second in ff10 the hallway design is filled with things to interact with. as you progress, there are less and less people, and things that are interesting which reflects the progression of the story. in ff13, the hallways really are hallways, there is almost never anyone to talk to, never a point of interest, just background. (very pretty background in ff13)
The one thing that made me really love FFX is that it focuses on a theme that’s kind of niche in video games; religion. Its not just present through visuals but it’s heavily involved in the game. The criticisms of it and how the world depends on it. Its really interesting and I don’t think I’ve seen many games that has this much religious themes in it.
I played it 20+ years ago and loved it! Fell out of love with it over the years and completely turned my back on it! Talked major shit on Tidus in that time! Played it here in 2022..... Masterpiece!
As someone from the Caribbean I loved waka as a kid because he had the real island vibe going but as an adult he's one of the WORST INSUFFERABLE part of it, every character can basically be replaced by kumari aswell except for guess who yh that's right waka
FFX is one of my favorite games of all time. I've played if off and on again since I first played it on the PS2 and was only able to 100% complete it for the first time earlier this year.
@@reliableprez the grind to max out the sphere grid has always been my struggle and always where I fell off the game. Finally completing it was a big rush.
I did it on my 2nd play through years ago. Just beat it again, but once tidues started hitting 50k I just stooped grinding. Spent 50 hours. Could of easily doubled it if I wanted to do everything.
I played this almost 2 years ago I was exactly tidus’s age (17) I had recently moved from a house I had lived in since I was 8 so I was home sick like tidus was at the beginning of the game then as tidus learned to accept and embrace his new surroundings I started to embrace my surroundings in my own life, and that’s only one of a million things I learned from this game.
My favorite game of all time... I still play it often. For those familiar with the story, the Speedrun community created a cutscene remover for the PC Steam version. Makes repeat playthroughs much more fun. Thanks for the video.
“Wakka, a cheerful airhead.” Lol died!!!!! Ffx is my all time favorite ff game and nothing has ever even come close to it since. Well except for ffx-2 which was fun and really driven by searching for Titus. I’m currently playing the Remaster on my 4k and it’s like seeing it for the first time again but better (obvi) lol Great video! I just subscribed!
This game is worth it in any Decade 😅 ive brought ffx 5 times lol if they never made a hd remaster i would be digging out a ps2 just so i could play again. I bought it on Ps2 twice, Ps3, xbox one and now for my switch so i can walk around with my face in spira 😂😂 I Love this game, hands down the best Final Fantasy!!!!
I never got into ffx. I didbn't like the voice acting, it was a let down after 9. I didn't like ffx's characters or world design BUT I want to like it, I'll try it again as it's on ps store sale.
@28:37, you are objectively wrong, Blitzball is the greatest minigame in FF history! 😂 In all seriousness, great review. I love Blitzball, but I understand it's not for everyone. The video is great and I appreciated your point of view! (I am trying to be as emphatic as possible that I'm joking in my first sentence, in case it doesn't come across in text).
Still isnane to me that this was the game that made some people give up on FF. FF10 is such a fucking masterpiece. Rough voice acting and all. Another great video.
Scary, I am 32 hours in prob started 4-5 days ago. Since I played it before I didn't search for secrets, tricks, tips or walkthrough on the internet. Very creepy how UA-cam suggested Final Fantasy 10 content and the video is "Is it worth to play it" But yeah, for all of you wondering if you should buy it, buy it. It is extremely good game, and you can speed up battles, which I have to admit was a pretty time consuming part of the game. My ps2 save have 230+ hours, and I dread of the thought how many of them were in battle...
What's this? A video praising ffX? Heresy! This is against the teachings of the FFVII bible In all seriousness, i really like ffx, and i enjoyed those puzzle section Oh yeah and lulu > yuna
I just honestly could not get into it….all of it looks beautiful and the music is amazing, but I couldn’t accept the firefly thing, Auron’s secret, how and why Tidus exist, blitzball, Wakka…I want to like it, but I can’t
This is my second favorite final fantasy just behind 7. I even named my pitbull after Auron. Funny thing is out of 13 puppies i had to choose from I decided to just call out Auron and there was only one pit that perked up and ran to me. I did that 3 times and all three times he was the only one that came to me.
Have it in ps4 and switch. Originally on ps2. Keep wanting to start over. So like uggghh, here we go. Chore mode. Although I want it all over again, but primarily since my lady won't play i want to play so she can see ffx.
You were right about ff16. Don't even look it, because it is an atrocity. I didnt get a chance to play x or x-2. I'm gonna pick them both up on steam for 14.99 😃
Why doesn't anyone put a second or two in between lines of dialogue? It always sounds so rushed and unnatural. Just a recommendation, I would add at least 1 second between each dialogue YOU speak, see how it feels/sounds to you, and then update if you think it sounds more natural. Awesome video, regardless. Thank you for sharing! FFX is my 2nd favorite game (only behind Tales of Graces F), and then FFT (WOTL) is my 3rd favorite all time game.
normally i dislike the mini games but i loved blitzball i played it so muched i forget i need to finish the maiin story hahaha always have brother (riku's brother)in my blitz team he is the best
I like the turn based fighting and they got rid of that pretty much after this game so i doubt ill play more final fantasy besides starting up this game once and while.
I played elden ring, skyrim, battle royales, uncharted, far cry, metal gear, and nany other of the big boys in gaming, but the hard truth is that FF10 is one of my favorite games in history. It is actually one of the beat games created and this was back just when the PS2 came out. The leveling up system with the aphere grid is one of the most genious ways to skill up in gaming, and nothing has beat it since. If you havent try it, just way for that opening scene to hit you in the face.
FFX was my first Final Fantasy and also the 3rd ever video game I EVER played. I still remember To Zanarkand playing, and then the shot of the ruins and then Tidus going "Listen to my story..." In that moment, I knew, I KNEW I would fall in loe with this world. It continues to be my top video game ever played and inspires and influences my writings as well. I always aim to paint a visual in the reader's head that is as awe inspiring as that opening (or Yuna's Kilika Sending).
completed it two days ago, 100% of course with max stats. the best game ever made. the question schould be, how often you should play FFX in 2023 :-). absolute masterpiece, even 20 years after release..
This game has been my favorite game of all time for 19 years now. I originally played it at 12 years old (2001) and while I do think it’s definitely still worth playing. I do wish it would either get a TRUE sequel (not that FFX-2 crap), or get a Remake treatment like FFVII. Because now after playing FFVII with its amazing combat and gameplay, and FFXVI looking even slightly better than that!!! I don’t think I could ever go back to turn based.
HONESTLY? I adore FFX2 skjskjsks Idk its like good bad game. Again everyone have different opinions about it but I love the soundtrack and the continuity from the FFX where Yuna finally gets chance to live her life as a true mc. So even tho its bit weird to control or play with it, I love the ending and secret stuff around it. Its also rly hard to play it if u want to pull up full 100% out of it. We truly dont need better sequel because that one is already fine, ofc not as good as FFX. But I def agree, this game needs remake ASAP, It would be so good for new generations to try to play this game but like with better graphics. Even tho I love combat games, turn based games I still pretty much adore solely cuz I love seeing differenty type of battles in each game. So Idc what kind of battle system we will get, as long as they make FFX remake with all the maps being expanded and added lore about his father and Yunas father as well, I will be atn peace- and if they make blitzball rly rly interesting
Not only my favorite FF but my favorite JRPG of all time. Everytime I start a new file I get obsessed all over again and literally play 6-8 hours a day until I beat it. I get better at the game each time as well, such as some of the harder boss fights (Jecht, Seymour third fight) only take me a couple attempts. I’ll answer the question of whether or not it’s worth playing… YES, it’s worth playing in 2023, it will be worth playing in 2024, and it will be worth playing another 20 years from now. Truly a masterpiece.
Ff 16 is not interesting to me the art is boring the story well I’m not passionate enough to care tbh ..how about this squareEnix REMAKE ff10 new graphics, no loading screens, update the gameplay , just a complete product no milking no using the ip for bullsh*t like other ff games 🫣🥹 would love to someone talking about this cuz honestly the game kinda rough nowadays but still good game.
I guess you'll never enjoy another mainline ff game ever again with that shitty mentality. Your loss really, because 16 looks awesome. Also wouldn't remaking 10 be "milking" it? Pretty ass backwards logic right there
Played it 4 months ago again in HD... The game is still great. Idk why but blitzball is for some reason more enjoyable than it was when the game released...Rikku seems more annoying today than she did when I was younger and I love Lulu what a sexy black mage wow but she's kinda useless ONE frustrating thing: If you're a trophy collector prepare for a long journey sphere grid trophies and the lightning strike and butterfly trophies are ANNOYING!
Didn’t watch the video yet, but on the titles question: Yes. I played FF10 for the first time in my life just earlier this year, and I loved it. To be honest, I really just wanted to find out the story, so I rushed a lot of the gameplay elements. Basically only focusing on leveling up to be able to beat bosses and enemies. Didn’t do any of the post-game fights or celestial weapon acquiring because it seemed to tedious. I know a lot of hardcore FF10 fans think endgame bosses, weapons, summons, and max stats are the best part of the game. I was content with just beating the game, and I really liked it. Amazing story and lots of parallels with religion and Christianity - which I think is prevalent in many Square games, but has a larger influence in this game.
Oh yeah, I also HATED blitzball, but it was more because the blitz ball game play felt like trying to learn a confusing cheap barebones tech computer game from the 90s/early 2000s. How you have to do math calculations based on several stats given… Like I said, I really was just interested in the story of FF10, so I really wasn’t interested in learning and understanding the blitz ball gameplay, and luckily, for just beating the game, you don’t need to. It sounds like to max out your characters you HAVE to learn blitzball and also become an expert at it and grind on it too. No thanks lol.
I Heard a lot of good things about this game so I bought the remaster on switch. I prefer turn based combat and loved the soundtrack, so I figured I would enjoy it. I put it down after 5-6 hours. I didn’t like the character and battle animations, hated the trials, didn’t really get the sphere grid system, and the voice acting prevented me from taking the game seriously. It’s just not for me , I guess. I actually much preferred FFXII and really looking forwarded to that episode from you!!
I play it literally to this very day. I've played COUNTLESS hours on my PS2, PS3, and PS$4. There is so much late game content to keep you busy and leveling up, the character development is enriching, story has twists and turns and making you feel such anger and sadness at times. I love this game, my favorite FF and my favorite game period.
Thank for watching everyone, this was a big one I've wanted to make for a long time now and definitely felt the pressure to make this a good quality video so if you did enjoy it a Like or Comment would mean a lot, hoping to have this reach as many people as possible so your interaction really helps with achieving that goal

The fact it has a game with in a game. If they came out with a ff blitzball game it would be a stand alone game. That's how good blitzball it itself.
5 times a year is too much homie, once every couple years will do the trick.
FFX is one of my favorite games and really deserves a Remake. Hopefully I live to see that happen!
One day for sure it’ll happen, give it 10 years I recon😅
21 years..?
In 2022? Yes. In another twenty years? Yes. Answer will always be yes. Has a timeless understanding of letting go and acceptance.
Final Fantasy of all time. Played this game for the first time at the beginning of this year and I already feel like I want to replay it.. Tidus and Yuna just can't escape my mind. Great video btw!
Tidus and Yuna are just THAT well written
Thanks man, you've said everything, why we love it, its strength, its weaknesses, what it feels like, and all this without any spoilers. I can't express enough how amazed I am by the work you put into this video. You've made my day 😊
Really appreciate that! Glad the video hit the spot for you
what weaknesses?
FFX will always be my favorite in the franchise. You definitely did this video justice in the way you presented it. Please keep up the good work. Can you do KH 1&2?
There is a KH1 & Chain of Memories critique on the channel if you’re interested
My favorite game of all time! Yes, it is amazing and yes you should play it❤️
My favorite jRPG, played it 20 years ago in a difficult moment in my life. I really have fond memories of it, love its characters and world, they are well designed and engaging. i remember as a kid that i had a crush on Yuna.
Best Final Fantasy game for all time
I'm in the mid of the game close to the end and I'm so glad you decided to choose this one to end the year off
Just keep away from the spoiler section of the video lol
Yes, it absolutely is #facts
From the title:
THIS AINT A QUESTION! its always worth it. Played possibly ten times through eversince its release, last time this year....ohmy, what banger of a game. Thank you for the video🙌
One of the best jrpg's of all time 😭❤
Being born in 93 this game popped up at such a pivotal time for me. I dont think i ever made it to zanarkand back then, getting stuck at the second Seymour transformation, but I'd argue it had a similar effect on me as you described
92 here and feel exactly the same hell I even got stuck on Seymour's second transformation as well 😂 I owe a lot to final fantasy x as it was the game that made me fall in love with Jrpgs after I completed this game I couldn't get enough of the genre and lucky for me The PS2 was a monster for them
I think we all got stuck at Seymour Flux lol. My buddy said the same thing as well. We need to go back and beat it now.
just want to give everyone an update, I went back and replayed 10 and after 40+ hours beat the game lol
Ya Seymour Flux and Yunalesca are pretty big tests your first play through. Legendary bosses.
FFX what a true masterpiece of a Game. no other game has ever been able to fully immerse me so whole heartedly as much as FFX did, you become apart of the world and emotionally invested in it. Thankyou for making this video it let me revisit this wonderful Game again
Finding the great Blitz players makes it awesome and my fav. minigame
Damn even more excited to play Tales of Arise now
Good voice acting ? Are you high ?

@@reliableprez Sorry just really hate this game and I know it's petty but it winds me right up that so many people seem to think it's the best in the series or even a good game in general. It's a corridor. Filled with either obnoxious or boring characters. After the heights of 6, 7, 8 & 9 this game was soul crushing to me and I will burn with hatred for it until the day I die. Nothing personal ^.^;
I honestly teared up a little at both that and To Zanarkand.
oh i agree, i loooove the soundtrack. i don't love every single region theme but i love to zanarkand, suteki da ne, and the hymn of the faythe (and how there are so many different renditions of it depending which temple you're at!), and how the themes of those three songs in particular are repeated as motifs in many different tracks. via purifico is another beautiful one, and i know the battle theme gets really annoying after a while but as an individual composition it's very cool. and then of course there's that rock song that plays in the opening cutscene and one of the last ones that is so hype. and i think ffx as well does a very good job of capturing the mood of the location/cutscene/boss fight through music which surprisingly i can't say about all games. the music really enhances the game.
bought one weeks ago, already 70 hours i fucking lvoe this game, THAT scene in the lake...
Thank you for the comment and support, it means a lot
This game might be a little outdated, but it’s really fun and 100% worth playing for the story.
One of the best stories in the series for sure
I actually like how challenging the temple puzzles are. I love this game. This game 6,7,9 and 12 are my favorites. 12 for the world not really the story.
Unlike FF9, the characters in ff10 actually have characterization and aren't glorified exposition machines.
It's a little bit of a grind for ARR but that's only like 10% of FF14, the other 90% is amazing
Yeahhh but that 10% is like 50 hours lmao still we grinding
Love the way you wrote this! Made me want to go back n replay it.
Glad to hear it!
FFX will be worth playing even in the next century
The one thing that made me really love FFX is that it focuses on a theme that’s kind of niche in video games; religion. Its not just present through visuals but it’s heavily involved in the game. The criticisms of it and how the world depends on it. Its really interesting and I don’t think I’ve seen many games that has this much religious themes in it.
They played it safe (In a good way), didn't make it the selling point of the story but if you dig deep you realise just how crucial it is
And how you basicly turn on the religion to save the world 😂
I played it 20+ years ago and loved it!
Mad commitment for the 100%
@@reliableprez the grind to max out the sphere grid has always been my struggle and always where I fell off the game. Finally completing it was a big rush.
I did it on my 2nd play through years ago. Just beat it again, but once tidues started hitting 50k I just stooped grinding. Spent 50 hours. Could of easily doubled it if I wanted to do everything.
I enjoyed the temple puzzles but I like puzzle games in general so maybe that's why
The first few were fine but the ice one broke me😭
I played this almost 2 years ago I was exactly tidus’s age (17) I had recently moved from a house I had lived in since I was 8 so I was home sick like tidus was at the beginning of the game then as tidus learned to accept and embrace his new surroundings I started to embrace my surroundings in my own life, and that’s only one of a million things I learned from this game.
Like how life was different before covid?
Im smashing out a 100% run as we speak. Voice lines are a bit shitter than I remember but its still awesome.
Good luck!
I’m currently playing the Remaster on my 4k and it’s like seeing it for the first time again but better (obvi) lol
Great video! I just subscribed!
Timeless masterpiece ❤❤❤❤✨
This game is worth it in any Decade 😅 ive brought ffx 5 times lol if they never made a hd remaster i would be digging out a ps2 just so i could play again. I bought it on Ps2 twice, Ps3, xbox one and now for my switch so i can walk around with my face in spira 😂😂 I Love this game, hands down the best Final Fantasy!!!!
I never got into ffx. I didbn't like the voice acting, it was a let down after 9. I didn't like ffx's characters or world design BUT I want to like it, I'll try it again as it's on ps store sale.
It doesn't matter how many years had passed ff10 is ALWAYS worth it
@28:37, you are objectively wrong, Blitzball is the greatest minigame in FF history! 😂
In all seriousness, great review.
I’m doing it right now. Still great. Almost feels like the first time. It has been years
Scary, I am 32 hours in prob started 4-5 days ago.
Since I played it before I didn't search for secrets, tricks, tips or walkthrough on the internet. Very creepy how UA-cam suggested Final Fantasy 10 content and the video is "Is it worth to play it"
But yeah, for all of you wondering if you should buy it, buy it. It is extremely good game, and you can speed up battles, which I have to admit was a pretty time consuming part of the game.
My ps2 save have 230+ hours, and I dread of the thought how many of them were in battle...
What's this? A video praising ffX? Heresy!
This is against the teachings of the FFVII bible
In all seriousness, i really like ffx, and i enjoyed those puzzle section
Oh yeah and lulu > yuna
I just honestly could not get into it….all of it looks beautiful and the music is amazing, but I couldn’t accept the firefly thing, Auron’s secret, how and why Tidus exist, blitzball, Wakka…I want to like it, but I can’t
This is my second favorite final fantasy just behind 7. I even named my pitbull after Auron. Funny thing is out of 13 puppies i had to choose from I decided to just call out Auron and there was only one pit that perked up and ran to me. I did that 3 times and all three times he was the only one that came to me.
The answer is yes.
Before even watching this 40 minute video I've stumbled upon.
The answer is always *Yes.*
You ever consider that that just might be his natural speaking cadence and that slowing down and pausing between dialogue would be unnatural?
@@Nephske No.
Anyone watching this that hasn't played it yet and is considering to play it... PLAY IT
FFX is in my opinion the best game of all time, I replay it every few years. I think I've dodged about 2000 lightning bolts so far.
...I loved those cloister puzzles
normally i dislike the mini games but i loved blitzball i played it so muched i forget i need to finish the maiin story hahaha
always have brother (riku's brother)in my blitz team he is the best
Easy answer ABSOLUTELT FUCKING YES! One of the greatest games of all time
I beat this game for the first time a day before this video came out lol
That’s some good timing
You forgot to add everyone’s favorite mini game! LIGHTNING DODGER 200 😂
I've played this game thru 4 or 5 times.... the end just kills me... every. single. time. 😢😢😢
I like the turn based fighting and they got rid of that pretty much after this game so i doubt ill play more final fantasy besides starting up this game once and while.
Blitzball is phenomenal. Those who don't like it are actually just weird. Imo
Definitely in my top 5 all time. MGS3, FFX, Zelda: LTTP, GTA5, TLOU.
FFX might be one of the few games on the planet that you can play and forget you are playing a game.
A good ending is a must have, otherwise players are left questions and unsatisfaction
Who cares if its worth playing😂 you wanna play it then play it…Im still playing ff9
Yes it's worth it, I can assure you, after over 60rpgs I know ff10 is still worth it
Yes yes yes its always the right year to play it. Every few years Spira calls me back. I never not answer the call
Always yes the sphere grid was the pinicle of rpg design
Debatable but it’s up there
Now that the game has been remastered and ported to pretty much every modern console, there's no excuse to not play this game
Bro this game was my life for way to long i cant bro i had over 5k hours on this game i spent to much time in my life
You called besaid Destiny Island. If it was on purpose or not I still like it.
completed it two days ago, 100% of course with max stats. the best game ever made. the question schould be, how often you should play FFX in 2023 :-). absolute masterpiece, even 20 years after release..
I’ll def have to get this on the switch tbh
Ff 16 is not interesting to me the art is boring the story well I’m not passionate enough to care tbh ..how about this squareEnix REMAKE ff10 new graphics, no loading screens, update the gameplay , just a complete product no milking no using the ip for bullsh*t like other ff games 🫣🥹 would love to someone talking about this cuz honestly the game kinda rough nowadays but still good game.
how can you complain about milking then demand a remake of older game while rejecting something new? it doesnt make much sense to me.
I'd say it's still too early for a "remake" of 10, a upgraded remaster is more possible but still games like FF13 would probably be first
I guess you'll never enjoy another mainline ff game ever again with that shitty mentality. Your loss really, because 16 looks awesome. Also wouldn't remaking 10 be "milking" it? Pretty ass backwards logic right there
Played it 4 months ago again in HD...
The game is still great. Idk why but blitzball is for some reason more enjoyable than it was when the game released...Rikku seems more annoying today than she did when I was younger and I love Lulu what a sexy black mage wow but she's kinda useless
ONE frustrating thing:
If you're a trophy collector prepare for a long journey sphere grid trophies and the lightning strike and butterfly trophies are ANNOYING!
Trophy hunting in FF10 is soul draining truly shocked more than 1% have the platinum
How you have to do math calculations based on several stats given…
Like I said, I really was just interested in the story of FF10, so I really wasn’t interested in learning and understanding the blitz ball gameplay, and luckily, for just beating the game, you don’t need to.
It sounds like to max out your characters you HAVE to learn blitzball and also become an expert at it and grind on it too. No thanks lol.
As a person who has been playing this game 32 times, its getting kind of boring
I Heard a lot of good things about this game so I bought the remaster on switch. I prefer turn based combat and loved the soundtrack, so I figured I would enjoy it. I put it down after 5-6 hours. I didn’t like the character and battle animations, hated the trials, didn’t really get the sphere grid system, and the voice acting prevented me from taking the game seriously. It’s just not for me , I guess. I actually much preferred FFXII and really looking forwarded to that episode from you!!
The FF12 video will show us how divided the fanbase is lol
I play it literally to this very day. I've played COUNTLESS hours on my PS2, PS3, and PS$4. There is so much late game content to keep you busy and leveling up, the character development is enriching, story has twists and turns and making you feel such anger and sadness at times. I love this game, my favorite FF and my favorite game period.
