Jecht's very odd relationship with his son is shown quite well in those lines the two have.
Because while he may have become Sin he still loves his son deep down as any father would
I honestly stand by Jecht's character getting a big ol pile of good stuff in Dissidia in general. Throughout X itself you basically only ever had one-sided arguments until the final confrontation, so seeing the two being able to go at it face to face is a very nice change at an somewhat arguable even level.
it's been years since I've watched these. this is by far the best psp game to ever exist. while everyone loves all the homaging to the original games dissidia was able to boil it down to the protagonist and their antagonist. each of these 10 warriors all had their own paths to follow and their own lessons to learn. in a strange way they show 10 different ways that conflict arises throughout humanity. I)destiny II)faith III)strength IV)balance V)freedom VI)belief VII)free will VIII)perseverance IX)altruism X)blood.

I personally think the story is complete shit. The gameplay is really good though

The story is pretty okay. Meaty enough to keep someone engaged. But it does over-rely on highschool level prose and symbolism. Like, the whole thing with the Wild Rose reads like someone's pretentious fanfic.
Oh, what's that? Your wish is for a world full of wild roses? But it actually means world peace? And...you have a literal rose that you give to Lightning because...dreams...and then...it gets stolen by Sepheroth because....A wild rose is easy to nip in the bud? So your friends have to get it back for you because...friendship...makes roses...bloom? That's SO CREATIVE. You get an A+ for coming up with such a unique poem.

I really like the FFX one. Just the character personalities shining through, and the dripping venom coming from Tidus saying ‘There IS no tomorrow for me!’ just sounds awesome.
It was this moment that I said to myself "Yeah, I'm gonna make FFX my 1st mainline Final Fantasy."

dissidia tidus is heavily underrated. also his voice acting is way better in this game.
I like the fact that, even being on one side of the war or the other, all of the characters had their own objectives that they pursued.

The Tidus vs Jecht one is easily the best. Despite being a spin off, you can consider that scene canon as it would fit perfectly within FFX.

6:20-6:49 is a long reference to Advent Children, when Cloud chased after Kadaj after knocking him down and Kadaj recovering right before turning to Sephiroth, followed by the same angle when Sephiroth stabbed Cloud's shoulder later in the movie
The iconic Squall pose wasn't the one you mentioned but right before at 8:17 which references a FF8 promo art

FF10 is my favorite followed by FF1. I like the whole scene a lot with his dad stopping to talk to him, going to spare him thinking he’s still weak and then right as Tidus gets back up that awesome music kicks in.... just.... SO good

The Jecht, Tidus scene is canon to me. I love that whole interaction and the aftermath.

I love all of these but I gotta say, the fact Bartz can hold the Buster sword one one hand, and also wield the gunblade.. thats one strong dude.

How did squall win that fight. Like literally he would have no time to dodge any of those if she put an arrow pointed at his back then played time. Her ability is broken af.
You know what is interesting? the same question you are asking is what Omega in Final Fantasy XIV seeks. Omega understand that no matter how powerful the enemy is, somehow the hero defeats all the odds no matter how ilogical or imposible it is. Then, Omega wants to add that "misterious factor" aka the plot, to its programing to become even stronger and he almost succeeds lol. The thing with final fantasy games is...let's take Exdeath, he can erase any part of the existence with just a thought. By the final battle, somehow the heroes defeated his first form and when he threatened to erase all the universe, SOMEHOW the heroes made that power fire back at Exdeath so he erased himself out from existence, instead of just erasing them with a thought but nope.

You see it yourself: he used Fated Circle and Blasting Zone. Plus, Squall's whole story in VIII is training to master his weapon and, ultimately, defeat the sorceress _(Ultimecia)_ as well as being a master swordsman. So it's not so illogical; he knows how to handle her thanks to his years of training.
Plus, in FFVIII, Squall can actually solo each of her forms with Lion Heart.
That is not her ability in the original game at all.

Anyone else feel like Squall vs Ultimecia (and to a lesser extent, Onion Knight vs Cloud of Darkness) perfectly conveys what the heroes go up against when it comes to untouchable, god-like villains? Ultimecia herself comes off as someone with the power to simply end whoever displeases her, and shows it with her time manipulation and magic. The no-nonsense Squall on the other hand, doesn't make any cheesy friendship speeches and just declares his intent to end her then and there.
With the others, it feels like they're fighting them *before* they become all-powerful, like with Kefka and Sephiroth.

Ethan - Leon_Diablos The spikes missed him for the most part, he was already in the middle of an attack when she stopped time, if he wasn't, he'd be dead. The explosion from the attack he started before she stopped time was the only thing that kept him alive. I agree with you on the Warrior of Light part, Warrior of Light pretty much humiliated Garland in their fight scene.

@@ceejayl371 I'm saying because all Squall did was hit a bunch of spikes after Ultimecia froze time, to me personally it didn't look that cool. I prefer the sword fights because they feel more personal.
Bartz vs. Exdeath. Enough said. Honestly, the slight update to the music used is just PERFECT.
I know, right? Battle on the Big Bridge was a good enough choice, but using that new remix just gives the scene a really dangerous tone that helps sell how serious Bartz is being.

I especially like Zidane’s fight scene. It’s more action packed and not with any pauses.
Dissidia NT’s graphics and duodecim’s gameplay and story elements= the perfect dissidia game
And the ever expanding roster of Opera Omnia. They have everyone there and they keep adding more characters. They just added Rubicante from FF4.

I suppose I should state my favorite then. Its undoubtedly Warrior of Light vs Garland, a straight up sword fight between equals, with awesome cinematography, and that music man, just great. Close second goes to Cloud vs Sephiroth though.
I agree with you on WoL/Garland taking the top spot, but I'd say either Bartz/ExDeath would get second for sheer badassery and music or Squall/Ultimecia for cinematography and choreography. With Zidane/Kuja getting an honorable mention for best shot composition for their clash.
Ninetails2000 Eh, I feel like Cloud vs Sephiroth was the second most iconic. The music, the cinematography, everything was pretty good.
I don't know, I don't have nostalgia for FF7 so it's not that iconic to me. I recognized the references to their battles in the original game and Advent Children, but it's like....yeah....This happened. They didn't really do that much to put a spin on it like they did for the others. The fact that both Cloud and Sepheroth are wooden blocks emotionally just makes things even duller....but hey, that's just me.

His personality is kinda boring, but his mind games are kinda what makes his character, you just love to hate him. Thats why I love when Warrior of Light won't put up with hie bullshit and basically tells him to stfu during his story.
Ninetails2000 The reason why Warrior of Light vs Garland is no. 1, to me, is because of their personality, and that its less about "Hero gets ass kicked, hero gets up and is like "I will never give up!". Its more like a battle between equals when it comes to Warrior of Light vs Garland. If anything, the Warrior had the upper hand in the battle scene.

I just remembered these battle scenes because I'm playing through dissidia duodecim once more and I just get goosebumps each time I see these scenes and how they're determined to fight, and I'm just there ready to fight them back, I love this game so much. It is the best final fantasy game that brings the characters together, and I hope they get to do the same in a future game that does not suck (stares at dissidia NT)

Personally favorite scene here is Bartz and Exdeath. Though I'd argue WoL vs Garland has the best, overall, choreography.
I used to play this game all the time on my brother’s PSP when I was 6 years old. This was the best game my first grader self used to play even though I couldn’t understand the plot and most of the basic game mechanisms. They should make a similar version to this.

Seymour Guado could have been an archnemesis of Tidus and FFX. Tidus' father hardly look as evil as other dark ones of every FFs like Sephiroth and Golbez,
Makes it more unique though. (Spoiler - in duodecium, he starts off as a warrior for Cosmos)

Yes and no. Golbez and Jecht are both only on the Chaos side because of their roles in their original stories(And the 012 scenario revealed that Tidus and Jecht were actually summoned on the opposite sides and had their teams switched through outside means) but they themselves are good people. Golbez just wants to atone for his sins and take care of his little brother Cecil and Jecht just wants to wrap up up the rivalry with Tidus and get him out of the cycle to safety. Other than those two, I don't really think the other villains care that much. Except maybe Garland, he's got that whole "Schoolyard bully who's afraid of getting in his feelings" vibe going...
These were so cool growing up. Wish they'd make a proper sequel to 0012 instead of NT.

I'm still surprised that Chris Sabat was in this. This was pretty outside of his usual wheelhouse. Usually he only ever lends his talents to Funimation-based or OkraTron 5000 work. To see him on a project that has so many Los Angeles based actors that Square-Enix usually goes to, feels kind of surreal to me. I don't know if he's the only Texas-based actor in the game, but it's so weird to see him on something that's not a Funimation production.
