- Mr. Bungle "The Night They Came Home" Virtual Live Concert Experience arrives June 11th! Pick up the Blu-Ray+CD, DVD+CD, VHS and digital at lnk.to/MBLive
Trevor Dunn says of the track, " 'Eracist' is a unique song in the Raging Wrath book. There was no initial demo, only a 'moshy' riff that Patton had come up with in the '80s, that somehow Trey remembered. Once that was unearthed Patton completed the tune with a double-time bridge and some lyrics about erasure and denial. It sees to me that it somehow feels contemporary while fitting in with our teenage songwriting style. I guess that's because it was written over a span of 35 years! You may notice that it's one of the only songs on the 'demo' that actually has a vocal melody. Back in the '80s we were mostly thinking about drums & guitar, which of course, is really all that metal is about."
“The Night They Came Home,” which was directed by Jack Bennett, finds the Northern California-born band performing songs from their recently released album, The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo. The two-hour film is available on CD + Blu-Ray, CD + DVD, VHS, and digitally. The film portion features Bungle’s performance, Neil Hamburger’s opening set, three official music videos (“Raping Your Mind,” “Eracist,” and “Sudden Death”), as well as extended behind-the-scenes footage including several surprise cameos. The VHS release, limited to 1000 collectible copies, is an edited, performance-only portion of the film.
Mr. Bungle have also confirmed their first live outing of 2021, performing at Riot Fest (Chicago) in September. The festival marks the first time Mike Patton has performed on the same bill with both Mr. Bungle and Faith No More, and marks the band’s first tour date since the Fall album release.
“The Night They Came Home” track list:
1. Won’t You Be My Neighbor (Mr. Rogers cover)
2. Anarchy Up Your Anus
3. Raping Your Mind
4. Bungle Grind
5. Methematics
6. Hell Awaits/Summer Breeze (Slayer/Seals & Croft medley/cover)
7. Eracist
8. World Up My Ass (Circle Jerks cover)
9. Glutton For Punishment
10. Hypocrites/Habla Español O Muere (S.O.D. cover)
11. Spreading The Thighs of Death
12. Loss for Words (Corrosion of Conformity cover)
13. Sudden Death
14. Loss of Control (Van Halen cover)
News of The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo (lnk.to/MBWrath) arrival, the band’s first new music in over 20 years, was met with great fanfare. The album news followed a spate of sold out 2020 live performances, which saw Mr. Bungle playing to some of its biggest audiences ever. The album, which is a proper recording of Mr. Bungle’s much traded, yet unreleased, 1986 demo cassette of the same name, was declared “one of the best thrash albums of the year” by Decibel, Rolling Stone said “their reboot is a feast of ingenious riffs, unexpected tempo shifts, and pure manic energy…,” and Stereogum offered “...Mr. Bungle are reliving their very earliest days and kicking a whole lot of ass in the process.” Revolver featured Mike Patton on their Fall cover, saying “After 15 years of inactivity and 21 since their last album, avant-metal weirdos Mr. Bungle reappeared from the mists of time to re-record their 1986 demo. Not content to merely rehash their high school days, core trio Mike Patton, Trey Spruance and Trevor Dunn enlisted help from Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo. The result is - in the words of super fan Eric Andre - pure, awesome ‘carve 666 into your desk and get in detention' metal."
About Mr. Bungle
Mr. Bungle was formed in an impoverished lumber and fishing town by a trio of curious, volatile teenagers. Trey Spruance, Mike Patton and Trevor Dunn beget the amorphous “band” in 1985 up in Humboldt County, Calif., sifting through a variety of members until around 1989 when they settled on a lineup that managed to get signed to Warner Bros. Records. No one really knows how this happened and it remains a complete mystery that even the algorithms of the internet can’t decode. Up until 2000 they released three albums (Mr. Bungle in 1991, Disco Volante in 1995 and California in 1999), toured a good portion of the Western hemisphere and avoided any sort of critical acclaim. Some argue that the band subsequently broke up but there is also no proof of this. What is true is that they took 20 years off from performing under said moniker while they pursued various other musics that, in contrast, paid the rent.

Scott Ian always looks like he's having a blast
And he is! He's playing with Patton
And lombardo
That's why I prefer this version. The look of joy on Ian's face.
@@superunknown2812and Trey and Trevor
Holy shit! The production quality on this is so top-notch! This sounds basically like the studio version, but with the band's ability to goof off and have fun in the mix lol
that is so true! I guess they are straight to digital
I’d be so scared to fuck up a Mike Patton song. Great job for sure.
Totally agree
The fun they have together is really contagious
Trevor Dunn, a giang amongst giants. Fantastic bass, perfect voice for Patton's lead. Master!
Trey Spruance is a guitar genius, LOVE his work in Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3 and FNM.
thumbs up for mentioning secret chiefs :)
also an ultra nice guy all around
Wish he stayed as FNM's guitarist all those years.
@@ShortRound42 couldn't agree more
Trevor Dunn is also a bass genius!
I just received my copy of " The Night They Came Home" yesterday!!! I'M A HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY MAN!!!👍😈💀
I’ll order it soon, as soon as I get paid next week. I can’t wait to see how awesome the the show as a whole is.

I love Mike's silly little hops.
I have absolutely No clue what a new Mr. Bungle record is going to sound like, and I love it. Damn they sound good.
Scot Ian is in Heaven right now. Is he going to tour with them?
He did all their shows in late 2019
@@Skeletal33 Nice, thank you.
It's so nice to watch them having a blast, at first I was really hoping for them to do some Mr Bungle/California but I honestly don't care now, I can listen to that whenever I want. Thrash bungle is so fun to watch.
Love this song!! Hits at everything
This album Rocks so f-ing much!!!!
Patton is one of the greatest. Amazing singer amazing artist. A Genious. Major influence to me.
Spruance doesn’t get nearly enough love! He’s so awesome and Scott Ian is a perfect fit.
So glad to see Mike Patton bringing back the ‘Weird Al Bad Hair Day’ hairstyle. He’s always been such a pioneer in fashion and that is something that the world really needs right now. Just like every modern day movie and the censorship of everything that can possibly be deemed ‘hate speech’, fashion pioneers really do save lives by showing us the importance of bold, self expression. Thanks Mike.
You mean Coolio
I lived in in Arcata, one of the cooler parts of the Emerald Triangle, in the mid 80's and blew out of there in 1995. Whoopee sh@t, Fellers!
Tight, tight, tight
I saw the bonus footage from this, hilarious! Love this song.

Literally can’t stop watching this. The more I watch/listen to this album, the more it starts to feel like one of the best thrash albums I’ve ever heard.
More like one of the best albums in general
Exactly
Well put!
I will say, as someone who initially couldn’t get past the disappointment of their new album just being their first demo, this album has grown on me, and it’s got some pretty good shit on it.
Goddam he wrote this at 13
This is pretty sweet.
Brilliance 🔥
I would give a tooth to see the next song on the set list.

Is your expulsion accepted with you requesting?!
Sick as fuck!!!!!! I want to see live so bad
Hope Patton gets back in shape. His weight is bringing him down.

David yow
Dave Lombardo with a fucking mask LMAO
Yeah it's pretty embarrasing.
Is Mike immortal? What the hell, man.. he's not human. That is to say, he's inhuman. Or better yet, a god.
Fun clip. Love the random cut ;). Off topic, but also: what's up with Trevor never aging? Dude is a fair bit older than me but somehow has managed to look the same age for about the past 15 years. That's a skill I'd like to learn ( retroactively, if possible... ) They're all like a fine wine, of course, but in Trevor's case, that's some supernatural type shit.
Trevor has a baby face.
@@samos4924 Indeed. But so did I for a while! Lol. Whatever, though. Maybe through listening to their music, some sort of osmosis will occur. If not, who gives a fucc. I love these adorable dudes out there living their best lives. We under eternal fkn lockdown can live vicariously through them . I thank them for making me feel less suicidal through this excruiatingly lonely period of life. Music saves! ✌️🤘
Sometimes having an eternal looking face is a nightmare. I've looked the exact same for 20 years and it's shitty. I reunite with friends and family and it's like "wow you're still a kid" -_-

@@GreasyMcNasty wait 'til you're 40 ;) You might feel differently about it! I get it though; being treated as though you're somehow less mature because of your appearance would be a pain in the arse. when a thrash metal band incorporates harmony singing, you know you're up for a musical treat.
The Scott Ian background vocals are the best part of this.
That dude dancing in a kilt adds a very Lynchean touch to the whole thing
That would be David Yow of the Jesus Lizard.

Our wish has been granted. Only a few days away from a Bungle mosh pit here in Adelaide 🤘
Foda! Mike Patton continua com a voz incrível! E que banda fudida de boa!
David Yow in a kilt isn't even slightly odd in this context.
At first I was like wtf and then I read this and yeah you're totally right lol
I don't know why, but Yow's dance moves kind of reminds me of the We Care A Lot video.
Mike Patton has long been my favorite vocalist of all time but then I saw David Yow and I'm thinking, "Oh, so Mike is only the 2nd best front man in this video". Long live the Lizard.
Analisando as músicas antes do Knotfest, parece que da pra brincar um tiquinho durante um mosh... Vamos que vamos 2022

I didn't think much of this song first time I heard it, then as the day went on I just couldn't get it out of my head. Brilliant stuff.
yeah. chorus is pretty nice and hooky
...hit it boys...
I hate most of my favorite bands new albums when they first come out and then something happens and they become the best thing they’ve ever done. It’s weird.
I’m really grateful for the tie otherwise I would feel like he’s a psychopath and I just don’t know if I’d feel comfortable bringing my children to see the greatest fn supergroup since fn that one dude got outta rehab!!
F yeah!🤘
Thrash or dyeeeeeeeee
Who are You talking about?
It is obvious that I am talking specifically about the one and only super rockstar, in the super super-group!! If your favorite super-group doesn’t collectively have more years in rehab than your IQ number, then you need to rethink your education and taste in music! Besides, being the only super rockstar in rehab means you get all of the high school bad-girls sent down the river for their kinky proclivities, why would he even want to get out?
@@axehound3718 this guy is high as fuck
This sucks. None of the imagination and creativity of the other Mr. Bungle records. Nothing more than one of many Mike Patton side projects. There's nothing Mr.Bungle about this.
Well i believe this is actually songs from their 1st demo.so basically this is what they first sounded like.

These fucking guys almost all 55 years old and rocking like MFs. Big kudos. Wish all rock n roll guys stayed this way as they got older.
Wasnt Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny the name of the original demo/tape? I swear I had it back in the day....
Definitely yeah:-) The new album is based on a remake of that old stuff!
Yea, you can also find the original demo on UA-cam
Fuckin awesome. Scott Ian's rhythm in the verses is soooo great. Simple riff but just brutal 👍
The man doing a jig in the kilt is hilarious!!!

He can wear his hair anyway he wants LOL as long as he keeps making magnificent music💞
@@meganh4011 Totally. Plus...I think the hair's kinda cute, tbh. He makes it work. It's Patton; he's insanely creative and has always been a bit eccentric. That's what we all dig about him. I fkn love that sort of authenticity in people. Wish there were more of it around!

Come to NZ, we don't have Covid, and after your quarantine you guys can tour. I'll take a month off work and follow the tour for fun.
I love this re-release. Can't wait to see it live!
that singer looks like Mike Patton
Its nice that they played a song all the way through without tons of breaks, beat drops, and style changes... THis two guitar lineup works well.
Thanks for this great music! What a pleasure to listen to ! I like that scotsman dancing too! Finally getting into older Mr. Bungle stuff now and enjoying that as well.
After hearing and watching this I just think, "Fuck yeah."
I like this a lot and all, but does anyone else kind of miss the old Mr. Bungle? The "what the hell are you listening to? It sounds like deranged circus music" Mr. Bungle. The "doo-wop with metal guitar riffs" Mr. Bungle. The "I'm lost in the desert and all I have is my trusty camel and a fucking Marshall stack" Mr. Bungle. The "Am I tripping on acid?" Mr. Bungle.
YES! I loved all that shit. I like this new ( well, old) stuff too, because it's fun and strangely uplifting...they're having so much fun and it's infectious. But yeah, musically I don't find it anywhere near as interesting. I guess- looking at it from their perspective- it must feel like a nice change? Mike, Trevor and Trey do a lot of really weird stuff all the time. This must be a breath of fresh air....plus there's the nostalgia factor.
this is so low energy compared to their other stuff. Ill stick with disco volante for now
Had me at “hit it boys” Thank you for sharing.
