  • So many of my friends asked me to demonstrate a video on how to make my cheese and charcuterie board and I am so excited that I finally got around to uploading one for you all!
Here are some fantastic ingredients to use for your board:
3-5 Cheese Assortments (I used Humboldt Fog, Brie, Cheddar, Parmano infused with Truffle, Gruyere)
    Cornichons
    Olive Tempenade
    Olives
    Walnuts
    Marcano Almonds
    Pistachios
    Dried Apricots
    Raisens
    Dates
    Cherries
    Grapes
    Strawberries
    Blueberries
    Kumquats
    Honey
Jam (Sour Cherry, Fig, or Orange Marmalade are great!)
    Salami Assortment
    Prosciutto
    Chocolate Assortment
AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT YOUR HEART DESIRES! Have fun by getting creative!
West Elm doesn't sell the board I have anymore but here is their link to other boards that they have in their store.

When putting out grapes, it is helpful to cut the stems with 3 or 4 grapes on them. It's great not to have to wrestle with getting grapes off the stems.

Omg people... this is a wonderful video... she said you can do what ever you have in your pantry.. she is just giving examples. Also quit criticizing every little thing... I’m sure she edited out her washing her hands. Love the video and idea💕

    • @maryjflanagan1922
      @maryjflanagan1922 5 років тому +10

That's so silly. Washing hands when making food is a huge GIVEN! This is really cool and I'd like to find the right board. I'd like to start entertaining at home and although I don't like much meat, I love cheese and fruit.

Exactly. I don't have dried fruit in my pantry but theres plenty of almonds, walnuts and shelled seeds for salads, plus jars of honey, olives, mustards and jams. I'd throw baby carrots on there too with some little cherry tomatoes and smokies that I usually have in the fridge or freezer. People need to relax. It's supposed to be fun.

Hands down one of the most elegant and unique charcuterie board I have seen. I am a pastry Chef so have seen a lot of them. Love that you used nuts instead of bread. Aside from all the gluten intolerance and dietary restrictions it prevents guests from filling up too much before the meal; The chocolate covered nuts, raisins and berries are a great touch to. very nice!

Gorgeous board!! Thank you for the video. And I guess no one watches food network, not one chef wears a glove, and before the haters speak about "chefs" don't stroke their hair.........please, I'm sure everyone eat's out, you never know what the chef and others are doing in the kitchen, from the most expensive restaurants to to your drive thru to your common establishments, be kind people. God bless you Tara, keep the videos coming!

Hi, Tara! Your choices are amazing and I thank you for sharing. However, it is better to be FAMOUS rather than infamous. Mob bosses are well known but for their dastardly deeds. That is what being infamous is. YOU, on the other hand, are presenting us with an awesome tutorial about creating a visually satisfying and delicious appetiser board. That makes you famous! Do not label yourself as infamous, Tara! All the best from an English teacher in Athens, Greece!

Tara, your charcuterie board is GORGEOUS!! One of my favorite things to add is goat cheese with honey drizzled over it, then thyme leaves added on top. It is delicious! You are so right that you can raid your pantry and find just about everything you need. I also like artichoke hearts, fig jam, dried apricots and assorted crackers. It can be whatever you like. Oh my goodness.. this is the first time seeing your Channel. ( didnt realize this Particular VIDEO was made a few yrs. Back) I was Searching for CHARCUTERIE Ideas and i think your approach is very Sweet and Elegant... Your ideas are SPOT on and Terrific!! .. also, your Family and Friends must be so appreciative and are very fortunate. Your FAST, SIMPLE and Beautiful DISPLAY looked Stunning. I cant wait to try it out. Ignore those NEGATIVE comments who say You didnt do this or that, etc..( although there are some that dont really know ehat they're doing.( you had great ideas) For example, on another Channel, a young lady teaches techniques like Folding Salami, making ROSES out of them ( that is so LOVELY and gives wonderful TIPS.) some people just dont embrase Kindness.
( yes, i noted you placed Grapes out and maybe a few other things but your BOARD TURNED OUT GORGEOUS!) Thank you for Sharing. ❤ Please KEEP MAKING MORE. ❤

Aboslutely love this, been looking at a lot of charcuterie boards for inspiration and I always come back to this one. You know you've nailed it when the only thing people are able to nit pick on is a blouse and ''hygiene''. Keep going girl that board is perfection and anyone with a brain would know that you wouldn't be touching your hair in a professional kitchen, just like you wouldn't wear nail polish either.

Licking fingers and touching hair is something no one should do when preparing food for others.
I like the idea of the cheese and Charcuterie Board. It's great for a cocktail party or just gathering with friends. You would make this up right before the party and serve it first thing when guests arrive. The back-up supplies should be refrigerated until needed.

Stacy Scholl thanks for your comment. I’m a head chef and have my certificate in Food Safety on a Managers level. I am fully aware of sanitation when it comes to handling food. For the sake of the video, you may have not seen the edits, but we take out the portions where I wash my hands in between handling. Also, this board was not meant for me to share with anyone. The sole purpose was for this video. The only one who ate it was me 🥰 and it was yummy! So I’m allowed to lick my fingers and touch my hair because I was the only one consuming it. But thank you for your input and for noticing sanitation rules when handling food. 🙏🏻

simply beautiful and so is the board arrangement j/s.. I've made my own little cheese boards and they've been impressive for when I'm entertaining. Need to get me a bigger board for more options. I have subscribed to your channel. thankyou so much.

The thyme and rosemary are edible. Just pull off the leaves and sprinkle on your cheese.

At the 0.08 mark, you state that you’re charcuterie is “infamous......”
    in·fa·mous
    /ˈinfəməs/
    adjective
‘well known for some bad quality or deed.’
I think you mean ‘famous’ as it indicates a positive outcome. 👍🏼

AMBs CHRISTY 😂. If you’re ocd then perhaps the charcuterie is not for you. I loved her leaning on the board before placing the food.

Tacky. Clean hands throughout cooking. I’m a chef and would never wear gloves. We were not trained that way . No one is. Lol such an ignorant comment .
Maybe you work at subway so you’re used to that lol

I think gloves would be tacky and take away from the presentation. It's a video-- let's keep it real.
