Just recently bought a 2015 Q5 TDI. Love it. You all forgot to mention it’s mpg, which consistently does even better than the EPA estimate. I’m averaging 31mpg in mixed driving.
@@epbski Yes. 115k miles now. No repairs to anything. Only routine maintenance. Fantastic car. However, like all 6 panorama glass roofs I’ve owned, it makes some noises on bumpy roads. All of them seem to. This one is perhaps the least noisy.
They only sold the 3.0 TDI in North America, and sadly only for 2 years before the "emissions scandal" happened. Maybe it would have been nice to have the 2.0 TDI Q5 as an option. However, the 3.0 is an amazing engine. I definitely wish they would have sold the 2.0 TDI in the Audi Q3 in NA, though. The 2.0 TSI petrol Q3 is terribly inefficient.
Mercedes doing the fake exhaust too. I hate it. I have a 2018 Sq5 but the one thing I don’t like is the fake exhaust. Audi says they are considering the feedback. If you ask me it’s a travesty to have fake exhaust on an S car. But it’s not a big enough of a deal to prevent me from buying it. It’s an awesome hot SUV.

@@anzew88 I've read that the V10 TDI had a lot of issues. Is it true? Also, once VW group released their incredible 4.0 twin-turbo V8 TDI, I really think it made the V10 and V12 TDI engines obsolete because it had better performance and efficiency than either of them. Hey guys love the video. I traded in my 2015 Q7 TDI for a 2018 SQ5. Exact same color as the video and charcoal seating. Love the car with passion. But I have to disagree with the TDI statement. As a day to day driver of the Q7, once the emission repairs were completed the Q7 showed noticeable slow down. And I’m a heavy foot driver. Before the repairs I could feel every 428 tq that beast had. I swear it was a monster off the line. Once the repairs were done (I regret it every day) the truck was laggy off the line and the torque absolutely disappeared. In fact the main reason I gave it back here in Canada without paying a penalty was mainly because my argument was that I didn’t lease a 1100$/month truck to have Audi change its entire way of driving 3/4 into my lease. I wanted to buy it back in feb 2019 but after the repair I couldn’t stand driving it anymore. But I can’t say I regret it. The SQ5 is a monster for less weight minus the hidden exhaust.
as a 2016 touareg tdi owner i fully agree, the fix definitely negatively impacted the performance and fuel economy. i will either be trading it in or tuning it. I also have thought about the SQ5 and just drove one, but i wasn't that impressed. maybe i was expecting to much from it.
🔥this is very good it helped me decide whether to go for the TDI or SQ5 without it all I would have to go by was spec sheets and thats not very practical so thanks for this 🔥

Im glad I can enjoy both the Supercharged SQ5 the wife's and my B9 S4. Both are awesome engines. But wife gets a kick when driving the S4 and is considering the new SQ5. But I don't believe they have black optic package yet in the states for the SQ5s. We prefer the black optic trim and grill more. Azores Green Metallic w/ Black Optic Package would be awesome.
Shoulda done a comparison of the older Q5 3.0T, TDI, and 2.0T. I don’t quite understand mixing and matching generations. Also, did y’all use launch control? In the ZF 8HP Q5/SQ5, you disable ESC, put gear selector in D/S and put the car into dynamic mode. Brake all the way to the floor, accelerator pedal to the floor, and you’re off. The SQ5 does sound so good. I have a 2017 3.0T Supercharged V6 and wish my Q5 sounded like the new SQ5.
Who'd have guessed that the vastly more powerful, lighter weight, newer AUDI beat the heavier, less powerful older Audi?! Next week, my grandma vs Usain Bolt in a dash to the shops to buy milk. WHO WILL WIN?

RIP Diesels, Automakers really need to work hard to make diesels refined, safe for the environment, and cheaper if they want to appeal to people. Hybrid, Plugin Hybrids, sells well because they are eco friendly and refined.
Audi has or had a Q5 hybrid. I think, but am not 100% sure, the Diesel got better mpg, was faster to 60mph, and cost less. Would love to see a diesel hybrid Q5, but it would be expensive.
The regulations we have over here sap a ton of efficiency from engines. We have more emissions gadgets on US cars than other countries. It’s funny how we are so obsessed with auto emissions but we don’t look at all at the furnace in peoples houses, etc.
I'm a long time subscriber and patreon, but i'm getting tired of these "try to be comic" videos. No information at all, whoever drove a diesel before already knew that in such a short track it would launch in front of the gas 2.0T and would be smashed by the SQ5. You could have provided a lot more information with those 3 different yet "same" cars, but no, you chose to drag race and fake surprises with the finish results that every car guy could figure out by just reading the video title.
Next time , just go to a proper strip put them all next to each other, count down to 0 and hit the gas. And have proper cameras set up alongside of the strip.
