It really is a bummer, I would’ve been super down to play a single player FPS in Concord’s world… but I understand that’s not their focus right now unfortunately
The "bad decision" was buying Firewalk and Concord in the first place. You think "executives" are brainstorming ideas for video games? No, they just green light projects they think might work. Concord didn't work at all, what do you want them to do? Like, what money is there to pay them to keep them employed? They literally sold zero copies of their game... Firewalk wasn't "punished" for this failure, the reality is they were unduly rewarded $400 million before they had any success.
I personally think Sony should focus on their known single player games but I am biased. I’m sure they’d like to have a notable live service game though. It’ll be tough because they’ve already tarnished their name & made poor decisions with their money. People only have so much time/money & many live services are already established or have a reputation that isn’t Concord 🤮
We’ll have to see, Concord & Haven were greenlit under the Ryan era. I think we’re prolly a year or two out from really feeling Hulst’s impact on the company at all.
Sony can make a ton of .money from the life service they need just to ask an experienced gamer what games make profit basically like you and me and other who have been gaming for years and play almost every genre they have the knowledge and what trends and what work for our time or in future
Man, I don’t think I would be the right guy for any job analyzing service games in any capacity… I don’t understand that genre, or what makes those games click at all… my simpleton POV is just that its prolly wise to not invest so much into one game, and instead make a bunch of smaller games & see what sticks
Sony executives make a bad decision to focus on live service games and the developers are the ones that suffer when it fails. Such BS.

Is Herman hulust really the right choice for CEO? Where is he leading PlayStation? Sony bend is working on a single player game with multiplayer btw.
