Wow :O how much time did you need to build this?
Around 20 hours, I never time it, I should because this gets asked a lot lol

Once i build a horizontal space ship hangar gate. 90x180 sized and 3b thick. Its survives meteors, even attackers. Needed for it 16hrs to build it. For me its working fantastic. Just the server crashed down sadly. XD

@@ApologiesSE Oh it is. Not too complicated than this, but bigger and minimum 3 times more robust. ANd works perfectly. Until its gets damaged, and start to move. Then the server gone. :D :D :D
Would be hilarious if it had all that and it just revealed a wall with a single standard door at the bottom

As beautiful as the door is, it has no future on a server, otherwise the server becomes unplayable. It is only suitable for single player. Unfortunately. Blame Keen for it :-(
I have been playing SE since it before planets, and I have seen much. This was refreshing in all the right ways and brilliantly done

i could almost see this being a kind of vault door for which a fallout shelter or some bunker with archaotech is inside
I was going for a Indiana Jones 2142 vibe :D
Ultimately, a fallout shelter would have a very quick to open door, which would probably mean an abundance of heavy door opening simultaneously as opposed to one massive door opening extremely slowly

Server owners are going to hire Asassins to stop you, im sure of it.
It was always the plan.
Nope. They wont. There are two server owner species out there:
1: Server owner that dont give a shit on playability, they also wont give a shit on such a construction.
2: Server owner who want a playable server. They will set up limitations for avoiding such creations. Not because they do not love such great stuff, they do!!! Just because servers will get close to unplayable if they don't.
I know what i'm talking about, i'm part of a server-owner-team. We hate Keen for never finishing the multiplayer adaption to a fully playable extend, we dislike to establish limitations, but otherwise it wont ever be playable with acceptable simspeed. Its a game. Game must be fun. Waiting at simspeed of 0.1 or even below is no fun anymore.
@@RodonEnNaur agreed, one of the main reasons I rarely play on MP servers. I’d love to, but yes. This completely.
@@ApologiesSEtheres a czech server with super active admins. They even have multiple servers connected with jumpgates..

IF only the game had better physics and less clang, image what you could build from this. I tried to do stuff like this but i cannot figure out them damned timer blocks.
I agree with the physics. I made a small tutorial for timer blocks, hope it helps! ua-cam.com/video/pcm2VzPoY6E/v-deo.html
Its quite easy but time-intensive. Think about the function u want, cut it down in single motion sequences, think about what you can combine at the same time, name your timer blocks wisely and start to establish the sequences into them. For safety reasons: Establish security! Disable the starting buttons/sensor/whatever until the whole movement is finished, then reactivate it. Writing yourself a circuit diagram will help a lot =)

I wish that stuff like this could actually be waaaay tougher to break down than just a few long range missles
@@librariantopokemon U need to adjust the dmg calculation in your game data. The weapons need to cause less damage or the blocks need to endure more shots. Then u have more endurable blocks -> tougher doors.

I like all these mechanisms. i've got one question. Are all these usefull to lock the door ? whatever it's a masterpiece. I remember when the game was at the begining and we were create only with rotors to make sliding doors... so much time have passed. now i'm totally overwhelmed ... If i could only integrate programming...
The arms and center lock are for show, but the gears and 3 lower and 3 upper slide locks are functionally “locking” the door shut.
Great build btw, just wondering about an older vid, in your arm tutorial what is the (im guessing) mod used for the quick access to the rotors and stuff, if its vanilla whats the keybind?
It’s called build vision and it’s AMAZING. Makes working with rotors hinges and pistons 1000 times easier.
What music track is this? It sounds a bit like The Secession's work, or maybe a little like early TSFH, I can't decide which.

@@robertnewborn5395 I do not sadly. Its pretty simple though. You make a large hinge, delete the top of it, and make a small grid over to the large hinge, add a small hinge where it should go, and then attach it in the menu. I know this sounds messy, because it is. The workshop for this is out and you can just take apart the one that's in it, hope this helps!

I think the Red caution lights should be the first thing on and last to end. Only makes since because of the hazards until everything stops and floor is covering the gate.

The true deterrent of this door against would-be raiders isn't the fact that it's well armored. It's pretty far off, actually. No, the real deterrent is because this would clearly be an affront to the merciless god, Klang, and the work that Klang so much enjoys would be gone.

Hey, remember me? You know what I have always wanted? A massive meteor base with lots of protection and a HUGE hanger for massive star ships and stuff maybe even a moon base cuz some battleships and starship are way to big and there should also be a smaller yet big hanger for small ship or just an area for small ship in the big hanger, What do you think of my idea?
I do remember, and I like the idea, but I encourage you to realize them. Watching other people build things is cool, but building your own just how you want it is very satisfying.
