Totally awesome. The reality is a lot of people buying these cars watch these videos where as the high view videos are kids and are actually less useful to the manufacturers. Video like this with 10k views is golden advertising and plus just quality footage.
Video does this car no justice; I saw one in person this weekend in red and my jaw dropped who ever designed this car needs a raise. This thing looks exotic and just as good if not better looking then a gt3, gt2rs, gt3rs.

My friend's dad has the previous generation spyder. He said when he goes to a cars and coffee or similar meet, he has the only Spyder there

Wow, the 0-60 (3.9) is only a few tenths faster than my base 718 with PDK (4.2). It’s crazy how fast the base models have gotten & how close all the models are in acceleration times. Everything else about the GT4 is sooooo much better though, nice video.

The lap time of 2:13.12 is the same forwards and backwards. I don't know why I noticed that but I thought it was pretty cool.
I keep hearing everyone say the sound of the 718 is dull. I think it sounds great. I heard it in person last week here in Atlanta and it sounded great.

that was because normal 718 sound is crap compare to 981.
A lot of haters for the 4 cyl turbo. Not as good as the flat 6, but still a heck of a car.
I have a 981 GT4 with Fabspeed sport headers and it sounds amazing. I got to hear the 718 GT4 last week and it sounded great in person. If you want more sound, there will be aftermarket options available soon. It seems to me that people just like to find something to bitch about.

Between the GT350 and the GT4 which car is the most fun-to-drive both on the street and track.
They both sound amazing, handle really well.
I owned a Boxster for 10 years and liked it a lot.
I can't decide which one to get although the GT350 is half the price of the GT4 so I'm leaning that way.
Love everything about the car, except the pricing. Not only that, the "extras" are outrageous.

Great driving sequences - Randy knows what he’s doing out there 😉! It didn’t sound like he was flat shifting in the 0-60 & 1/4 mi runs though. I thought that this was programmed in for both the manual 991.2 GT3, as well as the GT4...
Turns out the no lift shift is not available in the GT4/Spyder group. Some EU regulation prevented it.
I love to buy a used Cayman manual and daily it all summer!
What did you think to the gearing now it’s 85mph in 2nd ?

I’ve owned a 2014 Cayman base for 2 years, best car I’ve ever owned. That GT4 is enticing, thinking about upgrading to it in a few years, Nah!
Was this driven with traction off?
i don't know if it's me, but this "new" 4-liter sounds different. It doesn't sounds as raspy the the previous one
it's the Particle Filters. They ruin the sound.
It's nothing like the outgoing 4.0L. Completely different engines.
It also has piezo injectors. And yes, the previous one sounded a whole lot better.
A GT3 motor just sounds so much better.
A dealer told me the 2021 GT4 will have PDK available which will make it even faster. (Yeh I know so many like to have a clutch pedal.)

Unfortunately didn’t move the bar much from the last car, which is a shame - especially the tall gearing. Maybe the rumored RS version if that comes in at a somewhat realistic price vs a nice used 991 GT3.
I haven’t driven one but the tall gearing must be annoying.
The PDK version will have a shorter second gear. Looks like it is going be to at least a second quicker.
At 4:20 the climate control is set to 69 degrees. Nice

Have to push it to get that sound. Really silent below 3800 rpm.
nothing an aftermarket exhaust can't cure. but honestly i prefer a car that's not loud at low rpms but rather only on full throttle. That's what my Spyder does so well.
Well, as a previous owner of an f-type and now the owner of a 718 spyder, my opinion is that the car is too quiet. Needs an after market muffler with valve bypass :)
@@danielahlquist2660 yeah I agree but I also think there's a sweet spot to being loud and melodious. Of course varies for everyone. Having driven the f type and having heard it the exhaust it got tiring pretty fast for me personally. And also the controls on the f type felt like there was a sponge in between the controls. I couldn't get along with it. I'm sure they've improved it over the years but boy did I want to like it but I went with the Spyder instead. Right amount of noise and pops. However I'm not too keen on the new 718 sound and I'm hoping if I place my order by the time I get my pdk equipped Spyder there a good aftermarket exhaust for it that let's the car sound better.
I love how serious drivers talk about Porsche GT cars steering wheels not having any distracting buttons..and then you look at an F1 steering wheel with a million buttons and switches and even a screen on it. Give me a break

Not the best Porsche. The Cayman is just a legend, very expensive to not being able to mash a Carrera S, 911's are better sport cars.
Cayman GT4 or any Cayman👎 Not worth it, even a Shelby GT350R can match its performance.
