I’m just glad the GT3 and GT3 Touring still exist with a manual. I’m sure this is the best transmission for lap times and raw speed, but I feel it would still benefit from an option of having three pedals for the engagement.
... and the Speedster for good measure. Rev-matched downshifts and no-lift upshifts make three-pedal life even more enjoyable on track.
Great review - Andy's driving impresses once again, and the GT3RS on Cup2R tires is phenomenal.

Awesome little review. Didn’t know about the increased downforce over the GT2 RS. Also, first review I’ve seen on the GT3 RS fitted with the magnesium wheels (while driving).
@AutomobileMagazine @AndyPilgrim Correct on not being able to get the GT3 RS in a manual, but the standard GT3 can be bought as either a PDK or a manual with or without a wing.

A detail - the one with the record at the Ring is a GT3 RS MR, so it is a bit more special than the standard RS - something like €80K more special if I recall correctly. Not that the normal RS isn't weapons as it is, to me it is the perfect 911 except I wish there was a way to see the engine.

Been jaded by the superlative language that come with RS monikers but this review has taught many things... great video, great driving!

Only 2 seconds slower than a Senna. I know the Senna probably has another 1.5 with new tires, but the GT3 RS is insane value!

That's what it sounds like.
I toyed around with GT3 but ultimately the Turbo S was the better car as I daily drive it.
911 991.2 TURBO S that and putting you to sleep! I tried the turbo s. But wasn’t anywhere near as fun as my rs!
These reviews are great, but you need to find a better audio engineer. At least put a lav mic on Andy during the walk around.
The level is also lower than other channels, had to turn it almost all the way up on track too.... excellent reviews Andy does though!

Top speed: 193 MPH. It's actually hard to believe these cars don't break 200 now. The top speed rating on my 2010 Carrera S is 186 MPH. 7 MPH off the mark of this car?!?
The large wing contributes heavily to that decreased top speed.
Another good example of this is the Viper ACR. Amazing track car, top speed? 186 mph
If the goal of this car would be top speed I think 210 miles could be possible
If you compared this car on track with yours, you'd quickly find out why in corners. And in general stability. This car's aero is set up for fastest times on a track w/curves & turns. It has incredible downforce in comparison to yours, albeit at a drag penalty. The non-RS GT3 is setup w/less downforce & for this reason is actually faster top end about 5 mph(actually a significant drag reduction to do this). No offense, but as the owner of a high-perf 911 it puzzles me you don't understand these basic aerodynamics...

@@EODHammer You can't go as fast in a GT2 RS in turns because it is heavier. GT2 RS is faster than GT3 RS only in straight lines.

Whomever is doing the driving here doesn't know what he's doing. The GT2 RS is the fastest track sports car in the world. It's Nurburgring record speaks for itself. And No, it's not because of the straights on the ring, the GT2 is the fastest track car the Porsche builds. This is a undeniable, indisputable fact. Porsche doesn't built "Straight line" cars.

Ted Davis The GT2RS has been beaten in numerous multi car tests, it totally depends on the track/conditions; some tracks will suit some cars more than others - Nurburgring lap times are not a simple performance barometer. Suggesting that this guy driving “doesn’t know what he’s doing” is far more asinine than the comment you were responding to... he’s a pro driver with a 30-year career, he can clearly drive.
Whats with the false accent? British/American - chose one!
