Fabspeed Motorsport Stock headers on this I presume? Just over the axle PPF delete & new muffler? I heard the stock muffler is pretty well engineered by Porsche besides weight. Besides weight savings.... do you gain much more with a stock muffler delete with sound & performance gains over just the PPF delete?
I came here thanks to UA-cam suggestions and was surprised by the calm and collected style of the video. No shouting or any of that look at me. 'Just' a very good review and the love for cars shines through. Cheers!
Well, this was 13 minutes of pure heaven. I've never been a huge fan of Porsche but the way you talk about it almost has me in love with it. The video is one of your best Dan, from the editing during the speed test to the cinematography of the opening and let's not forget the rain drops on the car at the end. Nothing's perfect but this has got to be as close as you can get 😉
Thanks for the kind words as always! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I feel like to me this was sort of a continuation or sequel if you will to the Lotus video I did a while ago. It’s been a while since I drove anything very track focused besides the ones in my garage, but it’s just one of those cars that check off all the boxes and if you think about what it can do, the price point doesn’t seem that absurd anymore (especially not as absurd as the M4CS).
yooooooooo Who is this guy? This is a wonderfully produced video! Wow, blown away with the quality. Good luck keeping that up! You earned my sub for sure!
I liked your clean and precise way of reviewing the car for the first 5 mins, but it was the very detailed acceleration information that really showed me you're doing something unique on this channel. Sub well deserved.
Thanks man. I think as with time and experience, I’m getting more comfortable with the camera and settling in with what type of personality I want to be.
Ok stop. My Video is now at 6.02mins. Who the hell are you ? Like literally why do i not know your stuff already ? This video ranks an eeeeeasy 10/10 in every catagory. However you do it. Whoever you do it with. Keep it like that. You are about to blow up. Got yourself a new german subscriber. #muchlove
I’m VERY rarely surprised, and I even more rarely leave a comment, but this review surprised me at how good the review was. Great work. This was the first video I watched on your channel, but I plan on watching more.
Damn that was a great video. Insane production quality, really good content. Having driven the previous generation GT4, your descriptions and commentary are so spot on. Thanks for the great work.
This has to be some of the most beautiful video and audio work that I’ve seen on any automotive review channel in a long, long time! Consider me subscribed.
my number 1 complaint about cars today is having one engine for 13 different models. I wouldn't pay 40k more for some suspension and a tune and a fancy badge. Why Porsche is the king they do things the right way still.
1st time watcher/subscriber! One of the best GT4 production / review videos to date ...bravo! Love the capture of the storm in the background in the wrap up. Btw...the car does have 'launch control' and the instructions are included in the Porsche Manual for this car. Keep up the amazing work - it shows 👍🏻
This is very high quality content Apparently I've subbed to this channel in the past but I've just rediscovered it and I'm deffinitely not dissappointed
Phenomenal video! Great breakdown including accel stats and beautiful filming. Like you I'm an Exige owner and everything else under 150K feels pretty blunted, but this seems to hit most of the buttons so it's the next natural progression. I had a deposit in and was waiting for a build date when Covid hit. I am not buying this till I can do it a pickup from the factory, break-in driving over Swiss and Italian alps, and finish off with successive days on the Ring and Spa before sending her home. Your video just makes me savor the dream even more. Till then, flogging on the Exige continues and morale is way up the harder she's driven.
@@wearethetraffic Actually it's a really tough call between the Evora GT and the 718 GT4. I've driven the previous GT4 but yet to get in an Evora GT. I was doing the GT4 just to go Porsche after 6 years of Lotus ownership and to do the whole EU pickup experience. I would consider a Hethel pickup if they offered one. I suppose from there to the ring is just about enough time to break it in. I have some time to figure it out since Americans can't go anywhere for quite a while.
@@alpnstr Understandable... I have been considering leasing the Lotus as its decently priced and I know the owner of a Lotus dealership very well so pricing would be more favorable. Recently acquired a older 06 Carrera S so I would get to have both brands under one roof for a while. Thanks for the reply
@@wearethetraffic if lotus pricing is favorable through your friend you should have both. That would make a lovely garage! I think the evora has so much presence. The Carrera S will be the understated drive and the evora is just as good looking as a supercar IMO. I love the look in fire red metallic or air force blue.
@Harry Kwan Thanks! Sadly, there’s no replacement for the Exige nor do I think there will ever be. Even though this Porsche comes close, you just can’t match the pure rawness and how visceral the Lotus feels. But you’re right, once we get to a certain point in your biological life, your spinal cortex begins to starting looking for more comfortable track cars.
Love your review. Great video. You have a wonderfully warm, relaxed voice. Know that in Europe loud exhausts are on the way out: they’re no longer socially accepted and even on tracks there is now a 98dB limit.
Lovely review as always...I missed your review because it seems that for a while, it was only racing and doing the timed testing. Don't stop doing them because they are so unique.
What an absolute amazing video! Im so glad youtube suggested this for me, this review and the cinematics where just perfect.. not to mention the GT4 as well hahaha
@Larry Stackett Thanks! This one was a bit intense. I mainly use the Apollo GH5 LUT but I mixed it with Kodak and Fuji Eterna on this one. Anyway, I currently shoot GH5S with a Metabones Speedbooster and Canon glass (24-105/10-18/18-35).
Well done and well said. Honestly, I'm not much of a Porsche guy but this car with its manual transmission and button-free steering wheel and that sweet exhaust note got my attention. Well done Porsche!
Wow another amazing video by this channel! Great to see the quality increase compared to last year. Car sounds amazing btw! The GT4 cayman is my attainable dream car.
Best Porsche review without fanboyness. If I could have another Porsche, I would have this specific one. Also, we traded my lotus evora 410 for a carrera T. We still have the evora GT. I will admit that the Carrera T was more of an Impulse Buy for my dad and I guess he's happy. But he wants me to drive it and all I could tell him is that this 1 car is the only thing that made me realize how much I miss my Mustang and the performance I got out of it. It's so slow that I think my Volvo can't keep up with it but not pass it. 😬
Beautiful video as always. You’re the best man. I went from a boxster s to a c7 stingray to a c7 z06. It’s actually hard for me to be interested in a boxster/cayman again. They just feel too tame and boring compared to the Z06. I love that wild beast and what it’s capable of. I’d love to see you drive a 911 gt3 and/or a regular carrera s and compare them to this cayman gt4
@TheEvilPadawan Thanks brother. That’s an interesting progression of cars. I agree, if I never had a Z06, I may be tempted with the GT4. Truth is, I was spoiled by that power/torque curve. Anyway, we should be seeing more Porsches on the channel now so I’ll try to get those in. GT3(RS hopefully) is on the bucket list.
Despite all the great attributes about this GT4, many car critics complain about its unusual long gearing and the lack of raw emotion from the engine as compared to its predecessor.
After deleting the GPF I hoped it would sound better than the last gen 981, but it doesn't... It sounds raspier in the high revs; doesn't have that banshee "scream" like the last gen does.
Excellent production quality and info as always. 👍 Bought a 981 Boxster S so I could have a little fun and the wife could enjoy the sunshine....But a GT4 may very well be in my future so I can get my true sports car fix. Thanks for the great content 💯😎
That’s quite a lot of metrics to include in a video, since I already have the VBOX data for every car saved. I’ll just have to re-analyze it. I’ll probably add it for the app (which I’m still working on).
Very nicely done. Excellent video! I have had a GT3RS before. You’re right, this new GT4 is pretty well balance chassis. I know you have all the sources, could you tell me if I could change the HID headlight to the LED directional housing on this 2020 GT4? Cheers., keep up the great video 🦅🦅🇺🇸
Just discovered this channel today and it’s incredible. Would love to see you guys do an amg e63s sedan review. My friend just got one and it is crazy! I drive a cayman black edition daily and this gt4 is gorgeous.
New to motorsport and have watched a lot of Throttle House, Straight Pipes, Chris Harris, Remove Before Racing... this is easily my favorite. Much like the GT4, this video was nearly perfect (I believe lady drivers would like this as well, re: when you mentioned 'the viewer's wife' also being able to drive the car). Thanks for the great content.
Possible best driver's car of 2020?
GT3 would have something to say about that!
Yes, even better than the GT3.
I agree , 100% hands down, with all the statistical data.
GT3 and Lotus Evora GT are up there!
This guy is the best of all , I plan to put him in cartoon videos .his voice sounds like a genius for cars .
How does Doug demuro have so many more subscribers when your content is 1,000% more professional and higher quality is beyond me. Love your content!
These guys have some of the best reviews and by far the best camera work of any automotive channel and they only have 75k subscribers?! COME ON!
Completely agree! He mentioned once it's just him and his wife. Totally underrated channel. 👍
Very underrated
I know it’s better than pretty much than most channels
Fantastic performance review and production quality. Did anyone else think they were watching BBC Top Gear?
Ha yes but with the original trio ;)
👊 👊 👊
Even better
Fabspeed Motorsport Stock headers on this I presume? Just over the axle PPF delete & new muffler? I heard the stock muffler is pretty well engineered by Porsche besides weight. Exactly.

This guy had me fall for the Tesla Model X even though i ain't a Tesla fan

The sound quality and video is incredible. This is the best car review I've ever seen maybe
Another amazing masterpiece from start to finish. And I'm talking about both the car and video. Keep it up.
I truly don’t understand how you don’t have 500k subscribers! I put you right there with carfection on reviews. Keep it up!
yooooooooo Who is this guy? This is a wonderfully produced video! Wow, blown away with the quality. Good luck keeping that up! You earned my sub for sure!
Bit of feedback, you sound cocky. Don't confuse being confident with being cocky.
I liked your clean and precise way of reviewing the car for the first 5 mins, but it was the very detailed acceleration information that really showed me you're doing something unique on this channel. Sub well deserved.
This video was FANTASTIC. Longtime subscriber and I really like how you've loosened up your approach. This video had it all man, bravo.
Thanks man. I think as with time and experience, I’m getting more comfortable with the camera and settling in with what type of personality I want to be.
This video is two steps ahead in quality. Love it Dan.
Thanks buddy. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Very fine cinematic video and Excellent review...Bravo!👌👌👌
You deserve more subscribers and views. Very good quality video.
This host is as precise as the Porsche. He's a legit car guy. I wish you every bit of success in the world.
Godspeed
Very good video. Informative and well done! Took out my new 718 GT4 today for the first time.

I don't know how I just now discovered this channel. Phenomenal review and camera work. Couldn't subscribe fast enough
I’m VERY rarely surprised, and I even more rarely leave a comment, but this review surprised me at how good the review was. Great work. This was the first video I watched on your channel, but I plan on watching more.
I personally prefer the Spyder - same car, no roof, same performance. Win!
Damn that was a great video. Insane production quality, really good content. Having driven the previous generation GT4, your descriptions and commentary are so spot on. Thanks for the great work.
Underrated channel
Love all your motions graphics and text, it’s all in the details! And who doesn’t love the new GT4, especially after being awoken by Fabspeed
This has to be some of the most beautiful video and audio work that I’ve seen on any automotive review channel in a long, long time! Consider me subscribed.
Thought I was watching a Porsche commercial for a moment. Nice work bro.
my number 1 complaint about cars today is having one engine for 13 different models. I wouldn't pay 40k more for some suspension and a tune and a fancy badge. Why Porsche is the king they do things the right way still.
this is the best gt4 review so far
Dude... you sure are good at the content delivery, shooting, editing, and talking though each clip. Love watching your videos !
Camera work on this one is spot on. Love the music choice in the beginning too!
The car looks and sounds beautiful.

How do you activate the launch control?
Great vid and review, brilliantly editing and camera work and your voice over work is so calm and considered but passionate - well done
Sound cuality capture was outstanding!!! That Porsche was in my living room!
beautiful job, Dan! more proof that Porsche makes the best cars on planet Earth.
This is very high quality content
Apparently I've subbed to this channel in the past but I've just rediscovered it and I'm deffinitely not dissappointed

I own 2014 cayman s 981. Absolutely love it, this 718 is insane
This is an excellent video. Overview, descriptions, transitions, animations. Glad I stumbled about the channel. Sub gained!
Hey man, great video. I see your channel is still somewhat small but you've got a ton of potential!
Love your review. Great video. You have a wonderfully warm, relaxed voice. Know that in Europe loud exhausts are on the way out: they’re no longer socially accepted and even on tracks there is now a 98dB limit.

I’ve already wanted a GT4 ever since. Now I want it even more. Thank you for the inspiration and now I’m grinding even harder.
This channel is really one of the best cars channels out there.
Bro. Release that camera set up and lenses/ luts PP you’re using. Absolutely the best content for cars

nice video quality. love the channel.
BEST CAR REVIEWER I’VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME 👏👏👏 This Channel should be at 1,000,000 SUBSCRIBERS
It'll get there with time
The production of the framing and transitions are top tier!
OMG a car centric youtuber that isn't completely insufferable and doesn't play idiotic EDM "muzak" in the intro? Liked & subscribed!
Nice ending touch by walking away in slow mo. Good car and review.
Awesome video 👍🏼

Great review Dan
Nice review mate. Have one for 4 years now. Just a brilliant machine. And its yellow 😎
Exhaust sounds great.
Always excellent production quality!!
Literally one of my favourite cars with one of my favourite car UA-camrs
That was a great video man thanks
I've watched this 5 times now. Excellent work!
Awesome! I think you can't describe the GT4 better than this
You got to do a track/tuned RX7 FD one of these days. Your cinematography and audio engineering is really on point. Keep it up.
Holy smokes you deserve millions of subscribers. Incredible overview, incredible angles of the car and just fantastic presentation overall 👌👌👌

FYI...there is launch control. Several videos out there on this. Other than that, very nicely done...and I even like the colour ( no bias ;) )!!

Excellent vid! 🙌🏼
Well done Dan!
Love your reviews 🤙🏻
Amazing production! Great direct succinct content to match the sharp no-nonsense car
Just got my 2020 718 GT4 with PCCB’s and Carbon buckets. I agree. Perfection. Great review. Thanks.
Top notch vid man! Loved every second of this review, one of the best car channels on UA-cam.

Best producer ever .
I love your vids man! Endorphins Spike! Also love the comparison of the manual gearbox to a well oiled bol action rifle
Another great video, thanks!

You guys should use the 5-60 mph performance metric for more real world acceleration numbers
That’s quite a lot of metrics to include in a video, since I already have the VBOX data for every car saved. I’ll just have to re-analyze it. I’ll probably add it for the app (which I’m still working on).

@Frank Kwok Thanks for the compliments! Unfortunately, I’m not a Porsche expert (yet) in terms of modding the cars, so I can’t help you there.
First time here. Great presentation and love the performance numbers comparison. Subbed 😊
best reviews of this car in all youtube.
continue like that
