Yea, the only practical application I can think for these are as a stealth camper. Def much more maneuverable than a truck trailer combo, but I don't think those benefits outweigh the comfort of a 30+ ft bunkhouse
The small size is what appeals to people who get a camper van. Obviously, they are aware that travel trailers exist. Plus a camper van makes a great day trip platform. I also drive it to my local trails 8 miles away. I never used my travel trailer as day trip platform.

I store my sur Ron electric dirt bike, weber traveler portable gas grill, e-z Up canopy, Yeti cooler, inflatable kayak, camping/beach chairs, telescoping ladder, foldable banquet table, Mac Sports heavy dutie all terrain wagon. All this is stored in the garage while still having acess to a “queen” size bed, fridge, sink, full bathroom and seating. Also, the sur ron electric dirt bike is modified to be street legal so it’s my second mode of transportation to check out the entire campsite, surrounding areas or simply allows me to do a quick run to the grocery store.
Good that you included the Jayco Terraine, closest rival to the Revel. The Terraine has a similar floor plan to the Revel but with much larger battery capacity 48V - 210 amp hour smart lithium battery providing 10.2KW of power 3500-watt inverter. You reviewed it a few months back.
Out of all production B-class, I prefer the Winnebago Ekko (bathroom, rear cargo area, .interior cargo, outside kitchen or roof tent options, etc, etc, etc) But circumscribing to this video, I was ready to chose the Rebel for various reasons but I think the Jayco Terrain is my favorite. Only one of the vans had 40gals of fresh water according the initial spec tables. I would love and extended version of all these vans that accommodates a big fridge/freezer (12V 10.3 CuFt). I assume the power seats on the other models will make your driving more comfortable and pleasurable as well. While the bathroom height would be a pain, the kitchen on the Terrain has a better design than the rest. Did you mention all three vans on this video runs on the 2500 chassis? The Terrain is made on the 3500 chassis if your video is correct. The décor on the Terrain also looks way better. More organic, wood looking, kinda home feel. Lets not forget the main features: on-board air compressor and massive solar system (if you really want to go off-roading and off-grid. Terrain is 2500. It's basically a clone of a Revel with massively upgraded lithium battery and inverter. Solar is about the same at 200W. It also has a 48 volt AC directly connected to the battery which is a huge upgrade. Also upgraded suspension and onboard air compressor. Earlier models had N-S cargo tie downs. My understanding is they switched to E-W to make it easier to strap down bikes.
Brand battle was great. I really like the Winnebago floor plan. Seems like if you have a small space it should be what you like. Having seating area up front to separate sleeping is a win

Great stuff as always Josh. My choices: 1) If cost is not an issue the Jayco Terrain all the way. It's power storage at 10.3KW (10,300 watt hours just blows the other full electric options out of the water. Plenty of power for an Insta Pot, toaster oven, small microwave etc. and the space to store it. Or go the other way with propane camp appliances using 1lb bottles or lug around a larger 1, and use that shizzy in a screen room for cooking while boondocking. would probably also use a portable DC fridge/freezer for frozen goods in addition to the small standard one. This floor plan opens up a LOT of options for making it your own versatile rig given the power/storage on board. 2) If cost is an issue the Thor Tranquility/Sanctuary. Kind of the Goldilocks here. Bigger DC fridge and propane to offset the electrical usage for cooking along with much better battery storage and inverter power than the Revel. Pretty much the same chassis and ground clearance outside of the propane bottle. Drawbacks are limited storage and Thor's horrible quality reputation. That being said if we ever get back to the 30% off MSRP out the door days it would be really enticing. The convenience of the convection microwave and propane cooking without having to play inspector gadget on a rainy day can't be overlooked. 3) The Winnebago Revel on a huge discount. Edit - "Jayco" just b*tch slapped Winnebago in their own back yard feature wise at pretty much the same MSRP. 4) The Pleasure way Rekon. Way too basic for that kind of cash. Bonus pick on the 'cheap' that isn't a 4x4. The Thor Scope 18M. Old school with a generator, propane cooking/heating a microwave and small inverter. Basically a Solis Pocket with a lot more features and a rear bath. Probably all I need except I do like to remote camp.
I like the Recon. Not everyone wants to tow a trailer - especially if you are going on overlanding trails. Now that being said - there's upgrades one can do to a Benz that will get it out there. Granted it is not a Storyteller ($190,000) but they can still get you to the desert, to the mountains, National Forests, and on the logging roads looking for Bigfoot. I would add a composting toilet so I could save on water.
Uncle Josh, that "W" on the cabinet in the Winnebago is for hanging oven mitts/pot holders. I actually like one that you didnt mention and thats the Roadtrek SS Agile. It checks all the boxes for me.
The build quality on many of these B vans is just atrocious. The Thor and Jayco vans are getting roasted by their owners on the different forums. Only the Pleasure-Way offers a 5 year warranty and that speaks volumes about their initial quality.
Thanks for the video! We have had the Revel for two years…works good for what we use it for..it is comfortable and functional….it does work as a 4 season Van…taking a few precautions…we are happy not to have propane…more electric would be a benefit…but not critical…we have never had to plug it in..we could not afford the new MSRP profile. …we use the van a lot…compared to a towable we had. We live in the west… lots of exploration options!
We are out about every 10 days…there are a few upgrades that are worth it…Mattress, suspension, fuel tank…a bunch of small items , the addition of the rear seating area from CAV changes everything…we really don’t need to use the front as a seating area BTW…we don’t travel with everything we own. Enjoy your holidays!
Josh: It's nice to see that you've broadened your review horizons again. As you’ve said before, every RV is right for someone. Having watched this class B comparison several times now, I can honestly say I like the head to head comparison you’ve done better than any of the RV’s you compared today. If wife and I were in the market for a Class B, (we're not) this is the kind of information we’d be seeking. That said, I’d rather not comment on the pros and cons of any of these three. But if you come across and get a chance to review a Class B+ on a Ford chassis, like a Forest River Forester TS2381, would you please add it to your comparison. Respectfully, W.S.
Love your videos but a few major attributes were missed on the Rekon… The drivers side bed can be dropped down which will extend the table/ prep space, the grey water system allows for a more functional 4 season “RV” and lastly the Rekon has propane heat which works better at altitude… Good comparison for the masses.
I'm considering getting into the cargo van business, primarily looking at rear cargo space. I love the revel and rekon garage space, so I wish I could combine it with the tranquility living space. The rekon kitchen seems more for a fisherman. Last month I was parked at a hotel next to a revel. I was so excited to see one close-up. Then the owner came out and let me tour the inside. I was surprised at how tight it was. I don't know how two people could ever live in it. However, his heat didn't work, which is why he was at the hotel. I was flabbergasted! I don't know if he didn't know how to work the system correctly or if it didn't work, but it's not fun to spend more money on a hotel when you have a mobile bed. A revel is too damn expensive for anything to go wrong with it when you need it, especially in Chicago! The experience has left a bad taste in my mouth about Revels. EDIT: Now that I've seen the Jayco, it could beat the revel for me.
@@JoshtheRVNerd, Isn't that what most manufacturers do? However, Jayco will appeal more to women because of its stylish design. I can't wait for your review of the new transit!
Wow, camper vans have come a long way since my grandparents owned one! Of the three (the link to the Jayco didn't work for me) I would prefer the Winnebago because of the way they handle the cargo space and the kitchen. The price is prohibitive though and for that kind of money I would expect more luxury features in the cab area.
quick note about the rekon 4x4- I've seen ppl complain about the truma fridge ventilates the hot air into the van, it's not like the traditional where it's vented outside. Also if you opt for the AC package it WILL NOT run off the battery system - you need to be plugged into shore power.
Those fold-up sinks were first used in the Pullman ( company) overnight sleeper railroad cars. So they originally were called Pullman sinks. Just like the upper beds that folded down from the wall, Pullman beds. FWIW.
for the new 2023 Revel they upgraded the battery to 380v and if you have a 2021-22 Revel you can add a third battery to max it out around 380v as well. im happy with the Revel
I am still bulking up on my motorized chops right now and don’t have a grey base of historical knowledge currently on hand to offer you on this one. Apologies
Oh gosh, no apologies needed! I love your videos and greatly appreciate all you do. I just know how supply chain things are so thought maybe something may have changed. 🤷🏼♂️ Keep up the awesome work!
Your link didn’t work. But between the three, price would be my first look and see what the monthly payments would be. The screen is another to look at but I know you can buy screen tents to put in front but the built in screen is good. Lastly, the storage space is mostly important. If you’re going to be out in the middle of nowhere, cargo space is the biggest consideration if buying one of those vehicles. I would ask about MPG with today’s prices to determine how much you need for a trip.
i would love it if you started doing more side by side comparisons again after all you have access to more brands now and they all copy the same floorplans . P.S. dose Bish's carry the `Lance line ?
Generally I don't see these as RVs, unless you want the door to open and see people yeeted out the side. Maybe that is your thing. To me these are conversion vans with emergency toilets' and cooking at reststops. I like the Revel but no the price. The Thor would be the one if I had to choose. Money no object I am Class A/Super C type as it fits the travel needs I have. For now it is roadtrips and hotels.
Cool Class Bs. I guess I would intermingle a few things in each to get the best of all worlds. The Thor and the Winnebago are my faves. I am not a fan of the up and down beds. I do like the bigger refrigerator in the Thor. I get why people are attracted to purchasing them....just not for me.
Also battery cooktops and battery AC only works to maximum peak performance at high solar time in the day. In Severe weather this things would work. No food and no heat or AC.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I liked that the interior was more traditional. That the bed came down like it did. The all electric, no propane to mess with concept. I can live without the fancy adjustable seats.
In my normal midwest area, the class b isn't appealing. Currently, I'm on a road trip thru Moab, Bryce, Zion, & Grand Canyon. A 4wd class b is a lot more appealing after this trip! Those high clearance and 4wd roads lead to some amazing camp sites.
I go back and forth, but I figure we’d be taking our bikes, a screen room, and maybe a few other accompaniments to camping. To that end, the Rekon seems to do it best. Otherwise we’d have to tow a small trailer. Which defeats the purpose of a ClassB in my view.
I went with a used 2022 Sanctuary 19L 4x4 on the Mercedes chassis. I paid $95k and incredibly it only had 500 miles on it. It was never driven by the older couple that bought it new for $130k 18 months prior. So, for the money, a used Thor is worth it, even though the build quality on it is a shit show. But I've just about got all my cabinets back securely on the walls (lol). And still only 3k miles on it. But I've got a lot of wiggle room for what I saved vs. new. Let the mods begin.
From build quality and design I’m 100% pleasure way Rekon, I do wish it had the trauma heat pump Hvac on roof for its power savings and extra heat source and I’d get rid of propane and add extra bank of lithium batteries and the induction cooktop
Note the Tranquility/Sanctuary does include a bug screen for the slider. You just have to affix it. And for folks saying who’d spend this much. Many many people ha. Some of us don’t trust a thin cheap C or travel trailer. And enjoy having a van. Especially a Mercedes
🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 *LOVE the Head-to-Head comparison* !! *Not a Class B person, I prefer either tow-able or Class C* !! *Please make a video on Head-to-Head with Class C motorhomes* !! #JoshTheRVNerdAtBishsRV
I do like these camper vans but I just can't wrap my brain around those crazy high prices. Yes they do get good mileage but your spending so much up front that you'll never see the savings.
I use my tranquility (actually a sanctuary) as a daily driver during the week. Plus driving a Mercedes hands down is a winner especially if you are 6’2” Having a real 4x4 system also huge plus for me.
That’s super fair. Frankly my job is centered around helping people connect the dots between pricing and the unit To this day I struggle when it comes to vans and truck campers
@@JoshtheRVNerd correction, now that I watched the suggested Jayco terrain. This one’s blows all the others out of the way. Has it all and universal to all. Honorable mention benefits: diesel heating, cassette toilet, lithium batteries, cargo area massive, big frig, very stealth like and all Jaycos are two year warranty. C’mon!
For starters- I have owned several FORD vehicles over the years and I really like their products. The transit layout, the roof, gas, the interior ceiling height although I’m only 5ft. But it’s vertical real estate for storage., drive ability and all terrain. The Thor is fairly new on my radar but it’s still offering the camper amenities I need. I absolutely love the “Stealthy Exterior” of the Rekon but as you stated it’s more of a utility vehicle. I’m a traveling minister and will be living in the camper full time so I need the features of the kitchen and home atmosphere. Lol do I get a free van for this review 😂😎🤣

@@JoshtheRVNerd Distracted minds think alike?! LOL. Edited original post to correct Thor to Jayco bitch slapping Winnebago...
Winnebago for me, thanks for the video
TY for watching! :)
0:44 I Did ⏸ #pause
however only 2 out of 3 charts match up (in order of statistics) to make it easy to read across to compare‼️🤨❗️🤦🏽♂️
Each mfg offered different specs. I did what I could to try to homogenize the display but agree it wasn’t ideal
Ty
I like the Recon. Not everyone wants to tow a trailer - especially if you are going on overlanding trails. Now that being said - there's upgrades one can do to a Benz that will get it out there. Granted it is not a Storyteller ($190,000) but they can still get you to the desert, to the mountains, National Forests, and on the logging roads looking for Bigfoot. I would add a composting toilet so I could save on water.
The Recon won't run the a/c unless it's plugged into shore power...if you opt to pay extra for the a/c which is not standard.
Uncle Josh, that "W" on the cabinet in the Winnebago is for hanging oven mitts/pot holders. I actually like one that you didnt mention and thats the Roadtrek SS Agile. It checks all the boxes for me.
I KNEW that had to be for something!
The build quality on many of these B vans is just atrocious. The Thor and Jayco vans are getting roasted by their owners on the different forums. Only the Pleasure-Way offers a 5 year warranty and that speaks volumes about their initial quality.
16:38 a dish towel holder 😉 there’s probably one by the wet bath 🚽🚿 as well (as I’ve seen them there before) 👍🏽
Thanks for the video!
This is awesome feedback from a real owner! TY so much! I appreciate it :)
Will do!!
So glad you are diving into the class b zone! The existing class B reviewers are gonna have to step up their game.
Wow ty
that 72" bed is a deal killer for 6'+ people
Love your videos but a few major attributes were missed on the Rekon… The drivers side bed can be dropped down which will extend the table/ prep space, the grey water system allows for a more functional 4 season “RV” and lastly the Rekon has propane heat which works better at altitude… Good comparison for the masses.
Ty Chappie!! Hard to cover every item on a comparison like this and really appreciate you mentioning it!!
4 season? not standard with a/c. If you do opt for the a/c it only works when plugged into shore power
@@noahklein360 in general 4 season really means winter. Not having an AC can be a big factor depending on when and where you explore.
I’m about to pick up the Jayco Terrain but I wish the Recon had seating for 2 extra kids in the back, then that would have been my optimal van setup.
Tough when there is only so much space available
Nice head to head video. Be safe.
Ty
Scooter hauler my favor one and that electric bed priceless
TY!
Thx for taking a look at that Jayco video. It's almost like they just copy/pasted everything Winnebago did with a few bumps up on the solar package
@@JoshtheRVNerd, Isn't that what most manufacturers do? However, Jayco will appeal more to women because of its stylish design. I can't wait for your review of the new transit!
More brand battles absolutey! Also that Winnebago logo doohicky that you thought might be a bottle opener is a coat hook i believe.
I think you’re right. Ty!!
Josh I think the Winnebago would my first choice if I was considering one of these😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
Ty Nick
This assistant did a good job too😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
Chris knew his stuff on these pretty well
@@JoshtheRVNerd
I agree😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
Wow, camper vans have come a long way since my grandparents owned one! Of the three (the link to the Jayco didn't work for me) I would prefer the Winnebago because of the way they handle the cargo space and the kitchen. The price is prohibitive though and for that kind of money I would expect more luxury features in the cab area.
Links fixed. Ty
quick note about the rekon 4x4- I've seen ppl complain about the truma fridge ventilates the hot air into the van, it's not like the traditional where it's vented outside. Also if you opt for the AC package it WILL NOT run off the battery system - you need to be plugged into shore power.
Those are GOOD points to consider.. Thank yoU!
who the hell is paying 200 GRAND for these?
I only payed 138k on my 2023 sanctuary 19p
I guess you could say that campervan floorplans are usually categorized as either side bathroom or rear bathroom and sometimes no dedicated bathroom.
Yeah they’re a different animal for sure
Those fold-up sinks were first used in the Pullman ( company) overnight sleeper railroad cars. So they originally were called Pullman sinks. Just like the upper beds that folded down from the wall, Pullman beds.
FWIW.
I have always liked the Winnebag 59G. And in 💗 with the new Ekko. Not a B, but good size.
Will have to keep an eye out
Does Bish's RV carry any Class B's on the Ram Promaster chassis? For example Road Trek Zion, Winnebago Travato, etc.
I believe so - I am traveling currently and not in a good spot to check right now. But I think I recall seeing some Travato models at our Oregon store
for the new 2023 Revel they upgraded the battery to 380v and if you have a 2021-22 Revel you can add a third battery to max it out around 380v as well. im happy with the Revel
Nice! Thank you for that info!
Brand battles are very helpful. 👍
I need to get back to doing these. TY for the reminder
Thank you to Chris!
I can’t decide on the order I would put theses vans in. Ship them to my home and I will give each one a 3 week trial and then let you know. Lol
SUPER kind of you. What a guy lol
Tranquility for me. Thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Thor Tranquillity does come with a large light bar and side and rear door bug screen.
Ty for the catch Claudio
Great comparison on B Vans.
Ty Kathy?!
If you don't need AWD, Travato 5G is the best class B hands down.
Storyteller overland is the best by far
Great review. Very interesting. I've decided none of the above. No B or B+ has enough elbow room for us. Looking at class C.
Fair enough!
Great video! When your friend Matt did a review on the 19P Sanctuary/Tranquility it had a screen. Have they done away with that on current units?
I have since fixed those links. Sorry about that
I recorded this, then we launched a new website and the links broke
These prices are ridiculous.
i would love it if you started doing more side by side comparisons again after all you have access to more brands now and they all copy the same floorplans . P.S. dose Bish's carry the `Lance line ?
Yep!! I have a Lance video coming. They are still working on getting us restocked
Not sure about the Tranquility, but it’s brother/sister model (the Sanctuary) comes with a side bug screen.
Turns out this one did and apparently I missed it. My apologies there
Love the brand battle.
Ty
Winnebago, though I live in Iowa, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Lol hard to not route for the hometown team
Also battery cooktops and battery AC only works to maximum peak performance at high solar time in the day. In Severe weather this things would work. No food and no heat or AC.
The metal W is there as a coathook.
Btw, I do believe the Thor has a bug screen!! I have seen it shown, so?
Induction cooktop only work the best with the cookware design for that time of stove. Not your regular pots or skillets.
Second choice Terrain
FYI The tranquillity has a screen for the door
I discovered that after this published. 🤦🏻♂️
THANK YOU for pointing this out btw
I'm for the Winnebago.
TY Shara! What pushed you that way?
@@JoshtheRVNerd I liked that the interior was more traditional. That the bed came down like it did. The all electric, no propane to mess with concept. I can live without the fancy adjustable seats.
In my normal midwest area, the class b isn't appealing. Currently, I'm on a road trip thru Moab, Bryce, Zion, & Grand Canyon. A 4wd class b is a lot more appealing after this trip! Those high clearance and 4wd roads lead to some amazing camp sites.
And I think that’s the whole thing.. they fit into a space traditional RVing doesn’t do well
the “Ws” are coat hooks/towel racks
Ty - makes sense
I knew when j looked at it there had to be a purpose
Please look at the german model "Venture S" from the german company "Hymer". That's the one I would like to buy...
I go back and forth, but I figure we’d be taking our bikes, a screen room, and maybe a few other accompaniments to camping. To that end, the Rekon seems to do it best. Otherwise we’d have to tow a small trailer. Which defeats the purpose of a ClassB in my view.
Can you please cover class b camper van that is not on a Mercedes Benz chassis? Also micro class b?
Just saw a UA-cam of the Leisure Travel Wonder camper van. Way better use of space
10:30 Chevy Chase makes special appearance. lol
14:32 kinda like prom night

I like the Winni
Thank you for watching!
Enjoy and be safe! :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks Josh. You too brother.
Rekon 4 x 4 Pleasureway
TY Cynthia! Did you catch the Jayco version?
From build quality and design I’m 100% pleasure way Rekon, I do wish it had the trauma heat pump Hvac on roof for its power savings and extra heat source and I’d get rid of propane and add extra bank of lithium batteries and the induction cooktop
Thank you for watching and sharing! I'm still a little green in motorized and love the extra insights like this
Roof Solar so hard to put stuff up there as we get older.
I thought this would be a comparison of Ram, Transit, Sprinter, etc chassises.
An igloo [sic] 2.1 qf cooler and a minisink next to the bed? What, is the Rekon designed just for overnight trips? Who comes up with these ideas?
I wonder stuff like that in B Vans quite often myself
Jayco Terrain or Entegra Coach Launch
Note the Tranquility/Sanctuary does include a bug screen for the slider. You just have to affix it.
And for folks saying who’d spend this much. Many many people ha. Some of us don’t trust a thin cheap C or travel trailer. And enjoy having a van. Especially a Mercedes
Thx John
Good video though should have included a Storyteller van in the mix…
Didn't have one handy. Hard to compare stuff when it's not side by side but your reasoning is spot on for sure

I wish you would have had a Tranquility 19L as it's setup is personally better
That’s also a good one in the hunt. Saw it this past weekend
I do like these camper vans but I just can't wrap my brain around those crazy high prices. Yes they do get good mileage but your spending so much up front that you'll never see the savings.
I use my tranquility (actually a sanctuary) as a daily driver during the week.
Plus driving a Mercedes hands down is a winner especially if you are 6’2”
Having a real 4x4 system also huge plus for me.
That’s super fair. Frankly my job is centered around helping people connect the dots between pricing and the unit
To this day I struggle when it comes to vans and truck campers
WINnebago!
👍🏻
Winnebago wins overall

@@JoshtheRVNerd correction, now that I watched the suggested Jayco terrain. This one’s blows all the others out of the way. Has it all and universal to all. Honorable mention benefits: diesel heating, cassette toilet, lithium batteries, cargo area massive, big frig, very stealth like and all Jaycos are two year warranty. C’mon!
If I had to choose’ I’m going with the Winnebago or Thor 😎
Ty
May I ask what it was about those that put them over the top for you?
Wish that they would just move the sink and stove top to the drivers side, leave a nice open slider door.
The Rekon. Price and room
TY
The W in the winnebago looks like a coat hook or similar hanging device.
That's what I'm hearing from others. Pot holders.. etc
Great review!!! I signed on after watching this video from a different device. Just to comment. Keep up the good work. Remember to like, subscribe, hit the bell notification and mention Nerd Herd if you purchase any RV.
Wow Ty Lamar!!
Don't listen to him, Chris, Uncle Josh taught me all of the deviancy. I was unaware of things like toilet TV compliance and blaring freedom rock from high-mounted speakers until I was indoctrinated. I won't outright say it's because of Uncle Josh that the gubmint is after me and caused me to go offgrid to hide (so obviously, I'd need the max solar option of the Rekon), but I won't say it's NOT because of him and he called these campers so... I think that chrome W is itching to go head to head with a drunken octopus fight club hanger. Overall, I think I do prefer the Rekon more than the other two (edit: three) presented here, but in reality I'll be traveling with the other half who has mobility issues and her service dog so we're probably getting a fifth wheel. If I was on my own, I'd go with the Rekon hands down. Thanks Uncle Josh, for the corruption and the RV tours!
Dude I just had a LOOOONG day and this is hilarious
